I see this as a game to test you attention to detail. You cant see very much in each photo therefore you have to pay close attention to the details that you can see. The human brain can be tricked by a partial image very easily because our brain is "wired" to recognize objects we have seen before. This works well when all or most of an object is visable. Not so well with a partial images because many objects have the same components.
So in this game you have really try and see everything in the photo and use that information to help you. Of course seeing other guesses helps but only so much.

Well, they operate out of three bases, one at Langwathby and one at Durham, and I don't think Jim has been out to the great wilds of Langwathby so I'd go for the much closer Durham Tees Valley Airport.

Ah but as it's an air ambulance you may see it in many other places other than an airfield, unlike most other aircraft (on the ground!).

08-17-14, 10:50 AM
That I can't say, but you are focusing on the wrong thing.
It's a piece of equipment with a very specific task. The photo is only a small section of an important part, but not the entire piece of equipment.
And no it is not a weapon.

The dark disc on the end looks like a diaphragm clutch but not on a flywheel so I don't think it spins. It does rotate though. I was going to suggest part of a container ship crane but I'm not sure I'd qualify that as a higher calling.

TarJak's rough and ready rules
Anyone can post one guess until there is a posting from the starter to say whether or not it has been answered correctly. At that time, you may post a new guess.
Post a new image if it's your turn within 24 hours after the acknowledgement
Please check regularly (at least once per 24 hours) for new answers if it's your turn.
The question should be "where is this?" or "what is this?" or "who is this?". In case of the "where", specify how close you want it to be (for example: "what city").
:O:
Not that Armistead should forfeit his go, after all we've all done multiple guesses so far, and to be frank (Hi, I'm Frank) this one was dragging on a bit. :03:

It was a hard one to give clues for without giving it away. Slap Armistead with a heavy fine and tell him not to do it again. As if that would do any good.:O:
