^ I should have got it sooner; one of my security clients, when filming in America, owns a Cricket team in India, Kolkata Knight Riders, and recently, a new American League team. He had political issues when trying to bring Pakistani Pro-players into the Indian Leagues- theaters with his films being picketed as a result... additionally, he is a Muslim himself and lives in Mumbai....which created some interesting vigilance issues when he filmed My Name is Khan in nearby Healdsburg's downtown park with 300 extras one long 40F. temp 2009 April night-We had at least a thousand adoring mostly Sikh lady fans and a former Ms India braving the cold just to see god!!?? to fend off! I cautioned him "not to shake hands (so he wouldn't be grabbed by an exuberant fan) and that I, my three guards, and he would move like a rugby scrum sir" to his star-coach inconveniently half-a-block away for his cigarette breaks between takes. HE patted me on the shoulder blade in response and I've never bathed since!:O: The civic police and fire were also on hand for crowd control. The crowd was appreciative and several thanked my detail for taking good care of him; and were also shocked that we guards preferred the food off the Indian catering truck and not the two 'Merican trucks for the crew and extras!:O: I'll have something shortly:arrgh!:

My apologies but having read Aktungs question this morning I initially thought he was asking if the car in the picture had leather interior.

The picture is part of the exterior of a vehicle which is usually fitted out in leather.

The 'vehicle' when first introduced for sale cost in excess of $100,000

@Jim sorry saw this late, not dutch.

Orphism. Looks like Delaunay but I can't nail it down yet. It is much like Portuguese Woman.
This is it, 'orphism'. And it is indeed Delaunay, in this case Mr. D.

The painting is called "Hommage à Blériot No. 2", the detail depicts the rotary engine and propellor of a Blériot 11 plane of the time, with which B. had crossed the channel. This is the whole picture:

https://i.imgur.com/Cl4zf0Nl.jpg

The french Delaunay was befriended with german Franz Marc and August Macke. While Marc and Macke went to fight in WW1, Delaunay went to Spain, reason being "not wanting to shoot at his friends".
Marc and Macke both died in the trenches.

This is the exposition where i saw it:
https://www.e-flux.com/announcements/38286/franz-marc-august-macke-and-robert-delaunay/

What is this called, exact name please..I meant the name of the painting, but i guess you could understand it as which exact style has been used, and orphism is correct.

So, over to Buddahaid:salute:

early 1900's?

I new I'd seen it ....half a century ago in an art history class:k_confused: and was searching under "surrealist propellers"! instead of Apollinaire's 'cubic orphism':wah: I'm now a little bleriot-eyed from searching!:O: Robert Delaunay and his wife Sonia Terk Delaunay remained the main protagonists of the Orphic movement. Their earlier works focused on Fauvist colors, variously abstract; such as Sonia's 1907 Finnish Girl and Robert's 1906 Paysage au disque. The former relying on pure colors, the latter on color and mosaic-like brushstrokes painted under the influence of Jean Metzinger, also a Neo-Impressionist (with highly Divisionist and Fauve components) at the time.[4]

Even though Orphism was effectively dissolved before World War I, American painters Patrick Henry Bruce and Arthur Burdett Frost, two of R. Delaunay's pupils, embarked on a similar form of art from 1912 onward. The Synchromists Morgan Russell and Stanton Macdonald-Wright wrote their own manifestos in an attempt to differentiate themselves from the Orphism of the Delaunays, but their abstract paintings nonetheless appeared sub-category of Orphism.[2] https://d1dzh206jt2san.cloudfront.net/posts-content-images/15186920164AC6t.jpg
