Hm. It is British, but not English and not from Northern Ireland. I asked if it was Welsh but maybe this was considered a joke. At least it wasn't answered. It can't be Scottish, because Wikipedia only lists William Beardmore and Company as a aircraft manufacturer, and all of their designs were single engine biplanes. So it must come from some obscure company from the canal islands. I'm giving up on this...

So "bravo" to Buddha for the riddle and to Aktung for unravel the mystery. So, a car? Yes. I kept looking for shoulder/wing also as the hint was 'nose end' till I realized I really couldn't tell fabric from metal in the picture; and that narrowed down the twin-engine RAF field considerably'. After which the engine type narrowed it even further. Persistence is one of my best traits...nose to the scent always especially as
I know zilch about Vickers Wellington bombers. But the the ghost of Christopher Plummer appeared in my mancave and muttered "think Iron Duke man!" https://i.pinimg.com/564x/55/66/d2/5566d2457289d2f2489a076900904d85.jpg :arrgh!: :timeout:

On occasion when I go shopping in Newcastle City (parking fees are extortionate) I park on the south bank/Gateshead side of the river (free parking) and walk across the bridge.

Only once have I been on it when the instruction has been given to 'clear the bridge' and despite the fact you know detailed observations are maintained and the bridge won't move until totally pedestrian free, you're never 100% confident and subconsciously quicken your pace.

Are you sure about that or do you intentionally jump the gun?

I answered you with 'partially as far as I'm aware' at #15648 before responding to those questions posed by Glynn and Marcel.

I saw it and immediately thought of the old Ford Consul Cortina. We used to see these everywhere in the 1970s

https://i.imgur.com/dAUGPyT.jpg

But I could see it wasn't that because of the surrounding bodywork, which is modern.

My uncle had one... he used to pick his nose while driving then wipe his finger under the dash.
