@Jeff Not a Vickers, a german plane and inventor, also not a Grade Eindecker.
I think Budda was close but Aktung found it:
A Harlan Eindecker it is! Well done!
https://i.imgur.com/sTUScVzl.png
The plane on the photo above is shown during test-flights in the Ottoman empire, probably in 1913, and maybe also in the early war for reconnaissance mission.
"In September 1913, Hermann Reichelt succeeded in a stage flight over 1025 km from Johannisthal to Villacoublay with a Harlan monoplane."
The plane weighed 275 kilograms and was able to lift 240 kg (!) off the ground, due to Aluminium and cleverly invented stringer profiles used. The military version usually had ailerons, the fuselage was open but could be closed with doped and aluminated cloth of a kind that was also used on the later Zeppelins. A mixture of rust powder made it more resilient towards UV rays.
Engines varied and became more powerful, the first one was a 50 hp Argus engine, the plane on the photo above already had a 100 hp version, also other propellors were tried out and used.

Your "gas to operate, diesel to motivate" hint; and my previous foto-post of one early-on in the Ukraine thread: put paid a speedy solution. I cannot fathom being a Russian conscript and going into battle with these units in my rear...hardly conducive to good morale imho?!! Much less proof positive of the Einsatzgruppen intent to murder civilians and coverup the evidence...since the invasion was allegedly planned as a three-day flower-strewn "liberation" with minimal casualties...??:o I'll have something devious shortly.
