When I was young, photography was one of my interests. Even had an old analogue developer for black and white.

Both the giver and recipient considered themselves to be 'chivalrous' in the extreme! I have viewed the object personally on one of my 'Britannic sojourns'...practically a dead giveaway, given your knowledge of militaria.
