View Full Version : Who / What / Where Game
The first poster who identifies Who / What / Where (as acknowledged by the original poster) will be the winner,
and can then post a new "Where/What/Who is this?" image for the next round.
Just a few things to keep the game running:
Anyone can post one guess until there is a posting from the starter to say whether or not it has been answered correctly. At that time, you may post a new guess.
Post a new image if it's your turn within 24 hours after the acknowledgement
Please check regularly (at least once per 24 hours) for new answers if it's your turn.
The question should be "where is this?" or "what is this?" or "who is this?". In case of the "where", specify how close you want it to be (for example: "what city").
Please PM the winner so they get a reminder.
What is this.

The one in the image was HMAS Onslow thought I'd kick it off with a Submarine theme but images don't have to be that theme if you want to do something different. Here's the full image:

Spot on, although the locomotive in the picture was actually classed as a West Country class, which is exactly the same but a) made in a different place, b) operated in a different section of the Southern railway and c) was made later. There were a few differences when they were rebuilt, but nothing that much of note.

Could also be a MKIII depending on how precise your requirements are.

That's what bothers me :)
It's a deck locker on a ship.
Jimbuna
06-03-14, 04:36 AM
Look at the broader picture, the locker is only a part of it.

Is it where you can find the golden rivet?
Is it where you can find the golden rivet?
Nah, that's down by the shaft seals, watch out, they do bite. I think that that is where the tartan paint is kept. :hmmm:
Tango589
06-05-14, 05:00 AM
My next (inevitably futile) guess is it's where the captain keeps the ship's rum rations.
Jimbuna
06-05-14, 05:26 AM
None of the above but in hindsight perhaps the picture could have been better cropped.
Forget the locker, look at what is behind, it is the base of something really important for the operational use of the vessel in question.
It is a RN vessel and there is some snow and ice about.
Jimbuna
06-05-14, 11:30 AM
Nope.
Clue 2...The birds onboard didn't necessarily need to use it.
Jimbuna
06-05-14, 03:08 PM
Nope and getting colder.
This is beginning to be fun :)
Base of the funnel stack?

A ship with a green arrow painted on its deck.:hmmm: Maybe at the poop deck.
I take an educated guess based on the apparent weather in the photo.... HMS Belfast.
Not HMS anything. It is a deck yes but not the poop deck. This deck has a special use.
Jimbuna
06-07-14, 03:57 AM
The deck of a Liberty ship?
Negative. You need to dig deeper and closer to home.
