this is one the wiki page for it
In 1945, Allied troops came across two badly damaged Mk V tanks in Berlin. Photographic evidence indicates that these were survivors of the Russian Civil War and had previously been displayed as a monument in Smolensk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smolensk), Russia, before being brought to Berlin after the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_V_tank#cite_note-Fletcher.2C_47-7) Accounts of their active involvement in the Battle of Berlin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Berlin) have not been verified.[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_V_tank#cite_note-Narod.2C_Beutepanzer-8)

No it doesn't look particularly heavy duty other than the screws are pretty close together so it's meant to be strong.

Fictional character-Professor Moriarty
We have a winner!
In May 1876 Adam Worth alias Henry J. Raymond stole the painting The Duchess of Devonshire from the art gallery of Thomas Agnew & Sons. He was the inspiration for both Professor James Moriarty and the character Macavity The Mystery Cat in the book Old Possum's Guide to Practical Cats by T.S. Elliot.
As the great detective brothers the Pinkertons said of Little Adam " In the death of Adam Worth there probably departed the most inventive and daring criminal of modern times... In all his criminal career, and all the various crimes he committed, he was always proud of the fact that he never committed a robbery where the use of firearms had to be resorted to, nor had he ever escaped, or attempted to escape from custody by force of jeopardizing the life of an officer, claiming that a man with brains had no right to carry firearms, that there always was another way, and a better way, by the quick exercise of the brain. Among all the men Pinkertons have known in a lifetime, this man was the most remarkable criminal of them all."

Tornado
British post WW2 airplane
Similar role to A-10 which is ground attack
I'll go with Harrier
Aaargh! It could be any one of them, all the wiring and connectors look the same. My money would be on...
Jag and Tornado are ruled out, Betonov has got it with Harrier. I think.
Guessing not the Tornado or Jaguar those are more strike aircraft than CAS. I think Bentov has it.
Guess I'll throw the Bucaneer in just in case..
Well, I think we've covered most of the post-WWII air fleet, but I'm afraid the answer isn't there. Although Betonov made an error in saying airplane...it's not an airplane but it is an aircraft.
It does operate in a Close Air Support role, and has been around for nearly as long as me, it is made in Britain...but not designed here.
That should help you. :yep:

Yeah I can get a much larger version. My connection is very shoddy to night so it might take me a few minutes.
All right a bigger version also better angle. I hope it does look as easy as it does to me now...of course I know what it is.:hmm2:

Ta muchly. I usually put my images onto imgur and use their in-house image resizing service to put it up to 300x300 or thereabouts. I think that's the best image size without losing too much detail...although the rivet on the Mk V tank did cause some interesting observations.

Can you see it well enough now?
I usually use Gimp to cut it down.
Not particularly, but my eyesight has seen better days.
What I normally do is use Gimp to cut out the selected part and then if it's smaller than 300x300 (or thereabouts) I use imgur to increase the size.
So it would look like this:

I could do that with Gimp I recon.
Anyway there you have it.
What is this? This is merely part of the entire thing obviously it is a painting so what is the name of the painting and who is the artist? each answer/guess has to include both the name of the painting and the artist or best guess. Attention to details.:salute:

Actually no.
It's Rembrandts "The Nightwatch"
comparing your picture with what's on Wikipedia, I'd say it could also be a forgery of said painting, or that the picture on wikipedia was taken after a restoration
I'll try to find a picture when I get home from work, or Stealhead posts the confirmation, whichever is later.

I see a bit of metal in TarJak's photo that makes me think that it is not a Nash Metropolitan. Also TarJak's photo has a sloping curve the Nash has no slope to it. Don't be so sure until the OP confirms that an answer is correct. Also Nash has a space between the chrome and the headlight TarJak's photo has no gap.
Is it an early Ford Ranchro? Could be along the door where the chrome strip is thinner on some versions. Something tells me that it is not a Nash.
Not a Nash or a Ford. Start looking across the pond. Right era though.

Stop worrying about the colour. They were manufactured in lots of colours. A Teal it is not.

I'll help a little more and tell you the brand name comes from somewhere other than the place of assembly and these are very rare due to the very small production run.

OK that makes it a German brand and German chassis that is assembled somewhere other than Europe. If it has a chassis that makes it earlier than the 1960's in general unless you consider unibody construction the chassis.
I'm stumped for now.
Oh yeah and across the pond would suggest the Americas as the assembly place. Volkswagon I doubt as the VW's for the US were made in Wolfsburg until 1965 when another factory opened to take that load and the VW is a unibody construct.
The two tone paint screams 1950's to me so what are the choices. Opel, VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes are all I can think of. Daimler DS420?
http://www.bestdrives.org/daimler-cars/daimler-ds420-limousine-4235cc-1988.jpg
Can't be that because I would consider this car upscale to an Austin Healey. Stumped again.

Not quite fast enough to be a time machine... also no car.
It's something that's feasible to build, but it was surely a huge challenge at that time.
To be a bit more precise, aero dynamics or fluid dynamics for that matter, don't matter for this vehicle at all.
