https://oldmachinepress.files.wordpress.com/2020/07/eyston-thunderbolt-1937-bonneville.jpg:yeah: The mountain formation in the background was the dead giveaway! Plus when at Bonneville I've been known to set a speed record myself! I did 'put it to it' one time though at Knolls Utah on I-80 with nothing but the Bonneville Salt Flats all around me (a 1000 sq miles of salt flats and nothing to hit!) for an escape ramp and new tires and rear ends in the tractor's axels. I was keeping up with a much faster Carolina Western west bound against the prevailing westerly wind-always a factor in fuel consumption- and at the top of the grade maxed out on my speedometer at 90 mph down hill...before putting it into neutral! I passed that Cat-equipped CW, now motivated by gravity and freight with no engine to slow me,(Mexican Overdrive) and later at the rest stop in Elko Nevada, He claimed his speedo went to 110 (his speed at the time) and he had never been passed(est. 115+) by a Midwestern before "was I running empty or burning jet fuel?" I coasted in neutral for some distance before slowing down enough to regain the top gear on the tach...no Utah Patrol in sight till Wendover!

There was a Templar connection to Armenia; but well befor this style helmet which is lacking a bevor or gorget to protect the throat below the visor.:haha:

I think what I'm getting at is right hand drive outside of Japan is pretty much countries that were part of the British Empire or Commonwealth.
So is it a Delorean?
Aktungbby
01-05-22, 06:09 PM
nope, nor is it necessarily a righthand drive.
Are you saying that whether it was right or left hand drive depended on where the car was exported to ?
Markus
Aktungbby
01-05-22, 06:35 PM
Yes; though I've no specific knowledge that it ever was exported nor does the puzzle reflect any such exportation. In fact, the gizmo is on the left of the cabin.
Aktungbby
01-05-22, 10:15 PM
NO. but the gizmo did not make it into "standard production' on the model it was intended for. Big hint: it was touted as a 'safety device'.

reportedly there was one; but Mercury's were the intended vehicle...lately, BMW and Tesla have promoted somewhat similar 'gizmos'...and that's practically givin' it away!:D

So we are not looking for a car make and model? Must have something to do with that weird thing stuck on the right.

Is this device a little crazy ? like Tesla's Bioweapon defense mode, handy to have just in case Kim Jong-un sends over something nasty in his new long range missiles ( Its actually proven useful in the wake of the Forest fires in the US ) I think if you ordered it as an optional extra due to worrying about some kind of chemical warfare it would be a little over the top
The only thing I can think of which could link the 60's and todays tech is maybe driverless/autonomous devices. Is that anywhere close ?

More a short-lived deviation from the norm...; big hint: the nickname for this shortlived gizmo implied the possible need for carpal tunnel remedies.:shucks:

Magic Fingers?
Is this part os the "Electronic Highway"?
Aktungbby
01-08-22, 12:33 PM
Possibly there was certainly no reason to not export them, especially in the mid-sixties.
Magic Fingers?
Is this part os the "Electronic Highway"? in looking up Magic Fingers automotivwise, that's in the '90's...my puzzle is from the mid-sixties...Mercuries. And when I say 'mid'...I really mean it!

I guess it is not so well known today, but it may well be in Denmark. I take it that design connaisseurs know it well..

No.
I think the chair is made of plastic. and it is the backrest you see in the picture.
