Namesake: Oberon - King of Shadows
Builder: Chatham Dockyard, England
Laid down: 28 November 1957
Launched: 18 July 1959
Commissioned: 24 February 1961

Status: Scrapped Grimsby, 1991

The little owl is moored in the harbour of Sassnitz, as a museum ship. Strange to see she had a fibreglass upper deck, crudely fastened to the underlaying hull.

You remember how to play this... baby-steps. You already got that it's a man we're looking for, and a car

Time for a further clue perhaps?

Something from TV or a movie?

Eichhörnchen

Yes, from TV and movie

Eisenwurst
06-04-18, 02:30 AM
Which decade? 1970s???

Eichhörnchen

No none of these are right, and it's a fictitious personality owns this... but probably 'character' is a better word than personality, as that perhaps means a real person

Aktungbby
06-04-18, 10:21 AM
IS IT AN EARLY X MAN?

Eichhörnchen
06-04-18, 11:39 AM
Nope... very well-known show

Jimbuna
06-04-18, 11:40 AM
So are we looking for a fictitious character who drove an orange coloured car in a supposedly well known tv show?

Eichhörnchen
06-04-18, 01:26 PM
No, you're looking for the yellow-coloured thing that has to do with the car that's driven by the fictitious character in a 70s show :)

Jimbuna
06-04-18, 02:39 PM
Nope, totally fluxed

Great try, buddy but no... not from that show.

Clue: the car was not intentionally featured as a 'star' itself in the show (not like the Bond cars or Night Rider cars were) although it was prominent enough to have toys made of it. If you get the car then you'll see what it is I'm after

Catfish
06-04-18, 03:29 PM
It was not a Renault 5?

Must be an english series, a lot of those never made it across the border.. :hmmm:

Eichhörnchen
06-04-18, 03:58 PM
Not a Renault 5 and not an English series

Eichhörnchen
06-04-18, 04:13 PM
To get what it is you need to get the car, and to get the car you need to get who drove it... it's just detective work

Eisenwurst
06-04-18, 07:51 PM
So he's not the Old Bill. A Gumshoe perhaps???

Aktungbby
06-04-18, 11:58 PM
IS IT A VINTAGE STYLE CAR AND IS A CHARACTER A 'BIT OF A DICK'?

Eichhörnchen
06-05-18, 12:19 AM
The car would be classed as 'classic' rather than veteran or vintage.

If by bit of a dick you mean the owner is a fool, then most certainly the answer is no

@ eisenwurst... if by the Old Bill you mean the uniformed British police then no, and if by Gumshoe you mean a private detective, then no to that as well

Jimbuna

Jimbuna

Nope, not the Batmobile

Jimbuna
06-05-18, 12:27 PM
I appreciate you may feel you have given plenty of clues but I doubt we are going to progress any further without something more 'substantial/revealing'.

Eichhörnchen
06-05-18, 01:21 PM
Well there are always lots of clues in the shows...

Jimbuna
06-05-18, 01:48 PM

Sometimes the easy ones are the best and people don't lose patience. At times yes, though I prefer the harder ones that really require one to channel his/her inner Sherlock Holmes like the err... the tower of Colditz (IIRC). I must've gone over hundreds of photos of towers that looked similar before someone finally guessed it right. :)

Fun game.
