Lord Toby Jug, of The Eccentric Party of Great Britain believes his party should be given airtime on TV general election debates and is also willing to go into coalition with another party.
“We should be invited to the TV debate because although we are a small party, so are the Liberal Democrats,” Lord Toby, who describes himself as the “UK’s number one eccentric”, said.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-31500763

Oh boy this is bloody scandalous, more bollocks from toffboy

Those aged between 18 and 21 who have not been in employment, education or training ("Neets") for six months would no longer receive Job Seekers' Allowance (JSA).
Instead, they would be paid the Youth Allowance, paid at the same rate as JSA - £57.35 a week.
However, in order to receive it they would be required to carry out 30 hours a week of mandatory community work from day one of their claim
I always thought community service was a punishment..............but the Tory toffs must now think being unemployed is a crime.

It has already begun for everyone over six months I hear, yes I agree better doing something but what I am against is they are forced to do 40 to 48 hour week! Come off it 15 to 20 hours is fair but what Toff Boy is doing is the return of slavery just more evidence the clock is moving back in my book.

I'm looking at the 30 hour mark which is a figure generally accepted as being between part-time and full-time hours.

Any more and I would agree...justly unfair.

I would go on further to say that anyone continuing for a period in excess of twelve unbroken months should be transferred into a permanent contract.

Last night CH4 put on this drama called UKIP the first 100 Days about a UKIP victory in the 2015 general election and the way this drama was presented was nothing more than Channel Four view point. We all know CH4 is more left than right but like the BBC they too claim not to be bias, yet that hogwash last night looked like what the Nazis did in Germany in the 1930's.

From what I hear Off Com has rec'd well over 700 complaints and rising. I am sick of the media who hide behind the shield we are not bias when clearly they are. If your going to be bias just say so.

I agree to a point, they should rec'd extra money on top and a lot more real help not that rubbish now. People are not the same, we're all different as some are alright others have mental health problems bought about all kinds of reasons. Yes there are some who swing the lead but Toff Boy thinks everyone is and that is wrong.

Good advice to the unemployed a comment on Yahoo news I read..
The unemployed should jolly well follow Iain Duncan-Smith's example, get a dodgy "degree" from an Italian "university", marry a rich man's daughter and then live off his money.

On the surface a fine idea, but when you look a little deeper....

For example: Sending 18-21 year old job seekers to help in care homes. Would you like the thought of someone who is there against their will, doing work they have no interest in, caring for an elderly relative?

I certainly hope they send these young people into an environment where it will actually help their career prospects, rather than hinder.

There's also the possibility that the organisations who participate will see this as a source of cheap labour, therefore undercutting the rights of their existing work forces.

Considering it's from the Tories, with their "punish the benefit scroungers" election mantra, I sincerely doubt this has been thought through properly.....:hmmm:

All the rhetoric that twat Shapps comes up with does is feed the "Conservative Party = Anti-Scottish Party" line that the SNP use very, very effectively.

Having written that, though, Conservatism didn't really exist as such in Scotland. It was Unionism based on three tenets - "Church, Empire and Union". The Church of Scotland is becoming increasingly irrelevant, there's no Empire these days and the Union is in deep doo-doo.

4.and now they plan this http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16194599

What has the cost of petrol got to do with any government?

Unemployment has not fallen as they say, unemployment figures have been manipulated as far back to the 1980's. This government has manipulated them the most, all those on the work program or back to work are no longer recorded on the official figures.

Just to add our growth is tied to borrowing financed by printing money and our national debt is rising. No government is perfect we all know that and labour made errors in their last government by over spending but they can not be blamed for the world wide mess bought on by the banking industry.

As for the Green party the leader made a right fool of herself on LBC radio this week. And the only reason Cameron banged on about having the Greens in the debate so he could look good knowing how daft the greens are.

The assumption that it was the tories who increased the price of oil in the op was what inspired me to put it down to the tories that it had dropped. I completely agree it is farcical to suggest the UK government has anything to do with dropping prices (outside of the usual geopolitical issues...and the fact that half of the cost of petrol is pretty much tax...). Uh. I was going to agree but the evidence suggests that the government actually has a lot to do with it ._.;;;

I do agree that measuring unemployment queues is dubious a point I was also trying to make. It's currently well known that unemployment in the UK isn't rising.

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/united-kingdom/unemployment-rate

Labour also previously used the same techniques through their entire term in office. So I think we can draw comparisons with a certain amount of fairness. What is more telling however is the rise of Food Banks, the opposition of the Church to Conservative welfare policies and the rising cost of public transport.

The banks were, de-regulated...set in motion under conservatives, officially under labour (I think). They did almost nothing to impose new regulations and what they did do was revealed to be catastrophically ineffective. Selling gold at rock bottom prices (Thanks gordon) didn't help matters either. Yet I agree that the crisis was not Labour's fault, it was America's fault.

In my opinion I think our debt would have shot up under Labour, it was really past time for them to be evicted as well. I just don't like how right wing Labour has become. Let me just grab a knife and try to figure out what socialist policies they actually have. I mean, instead of bailing the banks out...why didn't they just hand £1,000 to each and every citizen... I think it'd have been just as effective, much cheaper and the money would have been kept in the loop a bit longer.

To sum it up, I think the Conservatives are trash, but I don't think Labour has what it takes to be an effective Government of the People instead of like the tories and like new labour being the Government of Businesses and London.

Edit:

Zero Hour jobs are evil and the Job Centre should be having absolutely nothing to do with them, but they do work for some people. Depending on the employer they can be extremely flexible and an excellent way to get into employment. (I'm not say that they should be used by any means, I must emphasize that). It's just a shame some employers misuse them.

Also, I don't judge a political party by its leader, I judge a political party by its actions, then its policies and then its leader.

Do any Scots still vote Conservative? :)

Believe it or not, they get anywhere between 10-20% of the vote up here. The problem they have is that it's evenly spread throughout Scotland, rather than concentrated.

For example, they had 16.7% of the vote in the 2010 election and got one MP, whilst the Lib Dems had 18.9% and returned eleven MP's.

They do much better at Holyrood under the Proportional Representation system. Hence, whilst the main party is against PR for UK wide elections, the Scottish bit is in favour of it.:03:

TBH, if they do badly in the Holyrood elections next year, I can see them splitting off and setting up a completely independent Scottish centre-right party. I wouldn't be too surprised if Scottish Labour ended up doing the same at some point in the future, in the name of survival, if no other.

In which case, Scotland ends up like Northern Ireland, sending MP's to Westminster, but not really participating in running the UK. Although from the perspective of elements within England, that would be no bad thing! Such is the way of things at the moment!:hmmm:

Mike.:salute:

The Budget leak

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/files/2012/03/osborne-smile.jpg

Big give a way to the rich thanks to the poor who have far too much money and that is just not on, how dare they have money to pay for their food and other bills how dare they.

All unemployed and pensioners along with the sick will be exterminated on the grounds they are taking up to much space, but just before we exterminate these scumbags we will buy them off with a price drop on fags and booze to buy their votes so they vote for us what a load of brain dead arseholes they are. Once we got rid of them we can bring in more of those lovely hard working immigrants to make us rich richer.

As for the rest of you more zero hours and big pay cuts to come, speaking of cuts don't forget 70% more cuts to come, can't wait to sting you riff raff. I will introduce a new class on the rails just for you called scumbag class, more details after our election victory.

And finally I will outlaw bashing the banks, anyone bashes the banks will be hung for their vile lies against our totally honest banks.

4. Pickles
5. Shapps
6. May
7. Hague
8. Hunt
9. Cameron

Why is a LibDem even on the list o.O; I weighted with how left-wing they were. Cameron is surprisingly liberal for a conservative. Some of them also aren't that bad at the job.

I mean Hunt vs Lansley for health secretary... and who was the defence minister again?

There are some positions in government that you want a Right-winger for. Border Controls, Defence and arguably treasury. I mean who else but a bank manager is ideal for that role? Unfortunately Osborne is an ass and with that recent, "Lets give our buddies the billionaires yet another tax cut" is really starting to grate.

Fully prepared to give shapps benefit of the doubt as far as second job goes. Compared to the private sector have you seen how much the politicians in the UK are paid? The CEO of a country (the PM) is on a comparative pittance. (That's WITH the expenses mind you). Not sure why people are kicking up that much fuss over it myself when we could be focusing on getting people out of foodbanks. It's not as if the welfare budget of the UK is paid primarily to unemployed people (just pensioners mostly).

It is looking quite probable.:hmmm:

TBH, Scottish Labour have only themselves to blame. The words corrupt, venal and tribal, plus the terms "power hungry" and "machine politics" come to mind. They've abused their position for far too long.

I do have a problem with the SNP's likely dominance in Scotland, however. A decent, preferably centrist, opposition wouldn't go amiss to keep them honest. At the moment the centre and centre-right vote is split between the Unionist parties and the SNP themselves.

To get a better idea on what's happening to the political landscape up here, it might be better to wait until 2016. The General Election will give an indication as to who the people want to represent them at the UK level. Who they actually want to run Scotland will be determined at the Holyrood Election next year. The proportional representation system used means that the SNP won't be as dominant as they would be under first past the post. However, they'll probably pack the list nominations like they did in 2011.:hmmm:
