Fifi's NYGM... hardcore so no external views :arrgh!:
I'm using the window, besides eye candy, to check the accuracy of my wheel - so far so good.
After this 2nd attack the front escort went nuts, but after 3 hours it had more pressing issus.

On first convoy attack saw this big one. After two determined escort attacks got into centre of convoy for second attack.

Two electric torps sent.. then the convoy changed course = I weeped as the torps went wide.

Next two torps, I think one electric was a dud, but the fourth (gas) was on the aiming point.:up:

Damaged but not sunk yet... could be the Malaya:D

Polygons would be the same. But each iceberg would be a unit and this would require the game to compute many more things...
Also, it would be a real pain to place all these icebergs manually in the Mission Editor... !!!

You don't get the point. I'm comparing individual icebergs to this automatic icefield which is actually one single unit.

I understood very well... the unit does not appear... the engine does not allow it...

As these icebergs are not sea or land units, they don't have any collision sphere, so they are harmless for you. But we could add a few real icebergs (sea unit) inside the field, so you will never know in advance if the iceberg in front of your bow is a true or a fake iceberg... forcing you to avoid all of them.

Well,? Why would i take a chance of running the nose of my boat into an iceberg,Underwater we avoid them head on to start with.Most players will use external view to hug a iceberg.If you want to introduce a damage sphere around the berg.With and With out external view That might change the game.

Found and updated my copy of RUb v1.45 with ARB Wide GUI 1920x1080, German Uboat Compilation, new Navigation Bathymetry Map 2022 (Stock version), MFM v3.2, static crews from NYGM and A-Kermit's new animated CoD and interior crew. Almost like a new game. :D

My friend Fifi is right, he will have a new version of his NYGM Iron Coffin coming out soon. RUb v1.45 is an older mod, bare bones compared to what is available today. It was the precursor to NYGM, with higher game play difficulty over plain vanilla.

I particularly like this really dark atmosphere with the luminous dials, the only thing missing is the "radium" a talented work that brings a really unique atmosphere to this KC GWX mod..I was killing myself saying it: In these Formidable Uboats the light had to be essential and not used at all costs!!! ..especially during certain phases of operation..

I'm gonna share this. Gibraltar mission. I got spotted by British Aircraft. Crash dived, no damage. But suddenly the entire area got alerted, and i got hunted down by three destroyers, who were pinging me with ASDIC the entire time. Shallow waters max depth at 110m. I tried everything to escape (lasted 40min) with classic evasive maneuvres like, going flank speed while they drop depth charges. Then switching to Silent Running. Changing depth and course.
But i got sunk. It was hopeless.

My first encounter with destroyers in Silent Hunter 3. What a hell !
