It basically show you where the enemy is, so you can cheat and go kill them. :D I`ve never tried it before, but I`m guessing I will only use it for making vids, since playing with this gods eye mod probably will get boring. The picture updates every few seconds, by the way, but to my shock its not showing everything.

I was surfing along towards the shipping lanes when a task force (!) came out of nowhere. Have anyone else met a task force in grid BF?! I was talking on the phone and smoking a cigarette when all hell broke loose. I now have ashes everywhere. Oh, and I`m dead.

Yeah - when I scanned back through this thread to see other screenshots of icebergs, it did seem like folks had only seen icebergs in MP games and not in careers. But I can now attest that indeed at least one exists in career mode (still running my tweaked version of GW1.0, including UC for GW by Rubini, in case that matters).

There are no grids marked this far north on the map. I am about 950km NNW of Narvik (bearing about 325 degrees from Narvik), but this one seems to be drifting slowly with the current or something so no telling where it might be on another date.

BTW - this iceberg did not register as anything that the watch officer sights/spots, so apparently you have to spot them yourself, so navigating these waters could be a little dangerous. I 'm going to try cruising past it at high TC to see if it will drop you out of TC so you won't run into one of these.

NEWSFLASH - be careful out there - this thing didn't seem to register as land either - it let me crash right into it at TC = 256 and killed my sub - never dropped down to my "near land" TC setting (or at least, not in time).

LOL - yes indeed - I play DID as far as actual game action goes, but not for testing/troubleshooting stuff like this - since IRL I would never have steered straight at an iceberg at high speed just to see what would happen, I figure I'm justified in reloading in this situation and continuing on with my career. :yep:

Thanks, danlisa! But its actually not that hard, this is what you do: Right before the gun goes off one of the sailors raise his arm. At this point hit tc 0, and start tapping from 1 to 0 rapidly, until you get a shot like this.

You can go insanely fast by editing the cfg file. I tried 9900bhp with sh3 inspector, and reached insane speeds. Actually the sub travels so fast it topples over if you turn to tightly.

I did not edit the sub's sim or zone file in any way, shape or form.

All i did, was edit the basic.cfg, and assign a snorkel where the game was expecting a supercharger. Only seems to work for the VIIB, i wasn't able to duplicate it in an IX. I found this out totally by accident one day and have had lots of fun with it.

Here is a idea on how to recreate that effect in one of your sub files (I forget which) you can set how power a called speed uses i.e Flank 1.00, standard .50 etc... well I think that if you set flank to say 50.00 it will use 50 times the enignes max power by doing this you can still have regular speeds from slow to full. Having flank at such a high setting will enable you to outrun anything but in shallow waters you should run at full or less because if you hit a wave when you come down you will keep going down until your crew try to get back to the surface. Otherwise with this edit you can virutally fly.

This was the second attack by two fletchers, a flower and a black swan. I think the were a little angry at me for sinking a convoy of 6 Tankers (2 T3, 2 T2, 2 Small tankers) plus two of the fletcher destroyers that were escorting them at the time.

I almost got away with it, if only that flower hadn't changed course, which caught me with my pants down and half smashed on schaps!:cry:

I'm using GW1.1a but have spiced up the med a bit. A new convoy, an invasion force,
a german airbase and some AI-Subs. Now it is very interesting:yep:

Here two stories from today.

As i was heading for CN61 i encountered a taskforce consiting of 3 DD's, 1 Fiji and 2 Dido's steaming at 20 knots.
As i was out of position i called home for the airdales.
But then the TF made a course change and was heading my way.:rock:
I attacked from about 5km with steamers.
Just as the Fiji got hit, the Luftwaffe showed up and sank my target.

Two days later i encountered the SAME taskforce again.
This time i was able to stop both Dido's with my fish:smug:
After the DD's left the scene, i closed in and fired my last fish.

As i told, i placed an AI-Wolfpack in CN22.
When i was going home from the tf-encounter i made a sound check and spotted
a DD and the wolfpack.
The DD got hit and was lining up to dc the sub

I think Fraps simply captures your native desktop resolution, so you're running 800 by something-or-other there. Pretty low really, have you tried upping it?

Actually it´s only a bit blur and a kind of green touch for the sea... sobers waves mod is a good beginning.
If the background (landscapes) would be such kind of detail it would be great! But I think a new engine is needed... even if people say the sea is most important.. imagine hunting in such fjords of Norway!!

hi,
i´ve got a question. i can´t make high-res screenshots. i installed that grafic-patch to raise the resolution, it works brilliant. but now i can´t take any screenshots or capture a video with fraps. using the print button as explained in the patch also crashes sh3.
so my problem ist: playing in high-res, without any possibility of screens or vids, or playing in low-res, but with fraps working as usual.
thats not how it should be :cry:

I don't use any super-mods like GW or the others. In the stock game, no "tweaks" I never encountered friendly air formations such as the picture shows. After I added the Harbor Traffic tweak, I see friendly formations like this periodically at Lorient, Brest and Bergen, so far. They're mostly Condors.

The last separate Harbour Traffic Mod was 1.47. Rubini improved it greatly for GW, and called it 1.48, though it only comes with that supermod. I use the campaign layers from GW for just that reason.

I'm sure GWX will have the latest greatest HT mod available.
