AFAIK, I don't have a mod installed for the Moon. I'm using GWX plus a few extra mods, but unless they have embedded a new Moon texture, my Moon is stock (or GWX).

I'm in the process of getting back into SH3 and I hope to brew up my personal finalized mod soup. I want to eventually never touch the mods again, and make a nice, small, consolidated installation that I can keep around on a USB stick indefinitely and not worry about finding mods, fixing mods, updating mods, etc.

Of course none of this is new to SH3 in general, but it is to me. What a difference from the stock game! It runs very well too, so I may even consider SH4 or SH5 now.

I am currently fiddling with Urfisch's effects. The only problem is that the smoke particles disappear at the edges of the camera frame, which is something that only happened in stock SH3 for me. I guess I have to go through some .dats with a fine-tooth comb.

Our type IIa has quite the legs. Considering that it also has two scopes and a flak gun in the stock configuration, I think it's more appropriate to call it a IIc. I'm wondering if I can change some files to reflect this.

I spotted two American vessels traveling together in a sort of mini-convoy. It was something I hadn't seen before. I love the added challenge of tracking things at night with the OLC environment. It's hard to tell if your target is coming or going, or how far it is. I also found a Soviet freighter, probably going to Murmansk.

I'm having fun, and the war hasn't even started yet! :yeah: It's a good thing, because I've damaged the boat severely with some embarrassing hijinks in port. I went down to 60 meters and got reports of things breaking! Not good in a real situation :dead:

Yup, OneLifeCrisis did a great job with it. Also try Manos's MEP pro. The ocean has a very nice blue to it in MEP, but due to the way Nvidia renders objects at a distance (less AA) I was getting strange moire patterns that were too jarring for me to make the scene believable.

OLC's water isn't always so grey, but reflects the sky nicely.

Within a few minutes my radio operator picked up two radar signals which I acted on by diving. However, the other u-boat decided to fight it out. After the planes had flown off the other u-boat had lost all three flak guns and appeared to be losing oil. Three men were still on the bridge keeping look out!

Thanks for the hint. I seem to have trouble installing the FM Interior, Luca Test FM Food and Aces Superturm Mods:

First I installed Aces Superturms ontop the other two but somehow not all mod changes were installed or perhaps, overriden by other mods.

Then I tried to de-install and re-install everthing but nothing will work, that is, everytime I install FM Interior and/or Aces Superturm, I get CTD (the game will start but the latest saved game in harbour won't load).

Is it possible, that I may have corrupted some game files during the de-/re-installation process?

I got an I7 processor and 8 Gb RAM. I don't think that's the issue. The three mods mentioned above are the main ones. Other than that I have

- 16 km atmosphere
- Water Stream Exhaust Combi
- h.sie path
- a few other, nothing major ...

Maybe it's the order with which they have to be installed ...

Winmerge will show you the differences.
Edit the files manualy so that no fileovewriting will occur.
The procedure can be very time consuming and it has some possiblity of error. The trial and error technique applies hear.

KEEP A BACKUP OF THE ORIGINAL FILES IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

Ah , yes the 4GB patch.
A very useful tool , since SH3 can not use more that 2 Gb of memory , even if your rig has more - 8Gb in your case.
So , this might help.

Thanks. I tried it with my 8.8 CM but it kept on missing it (shooting over the bloody thing), and my Flak wasn't doing a lot of damage. But hey, it's wartime, only results count! (its late 1940, no pressure yet from the HQ yet :up: )

I've never been impressed by the hitting power of the 3.7 cm flak guns in SH3 when used against shipping.:down: Come to think of it, all my aircraft kills have been from the 20mm too. I'll have to set up a trial with 37mm vs. a Sunderland.

In real life, a few hits from a 37mm HE shell would pulverize a sailboat. An armor-piercing round, on the other hand, would just plow completely through it without much effect.

You can use the WS d3d9.dll, and you will have a WS image without stretching. But, at the current state, only we have GUIs for 1360x768, so you must adjust the config of your d3d9 to that resolution. And use a WS GUI (Example: WS MaGUI 3.4).

Lovely pictures, BUKER. It's funny, SH5 has these incredible graphics, and I'm always amazed by screenshots from that game, but SH3 has a certain feel all it's own, and after almost nine years I still love looking at it. :sunny:

A bit off topic but....

I would like to know the same thing.
My GWX crashes when using Wise's Uboats.

I believe it has to do with the basic.cfg file of the mod and mine basic.cfg. I tried to merge the files together since I am running a heavily modded GWX and changing these files is risky. Thank God for keeping back ups.

I am sorry to hear that.
As for the resolution , it is the native of my screen and I haven't used any hires fixes.
It maybe the graphics card.

I haven't tried inporting it into GWX. I have just been testing some minor flotilla .cfg file changes in LSH3 and CCoM to make them compatible with the next WaW campaign starting soon. I noticed quite a few interesting ships in both that I had not seen before in either NYGM or GWX.

Once activated/enables simply open up your Mission Editor and go to the scripted campaign then plot her course in a loop coming and going from wherever you want.

All the German vessels in my installations have had the 'nazi flag' viewable...I thought that was in conforming with historical accuracy as far as the game limitations allow.
