Thanks. :) West of Gibraltar there's some islands. Actually they're sort of off the north-west coast of Africa. I forget what they're called, but I'm pretty sure they're neutral. That's where I took the pics. I set my course very close to them, to get a look, and just happened to pass by the second island at sunrise. So I got the camera out, as you do. :cool:

Edit: The Madeira Islands - that's where the sunrise shots were taken.

Yes I did the He-111 model & Ref did the import, I had planned be making some improvments to it at some stage, tidy up the artifacts and add a bit more detail etc - when time permits anyway.
Since you asked i think its around 8000 polys-ish (but might be abit more though).
The Devs said aircraft should stay at around to 2-4000 polys, Though I dont know why- when SH3 can handle much higher, the uboats conning towers are around 40,000 polys alone and having 6 of them on screen at once doesn't hurt FPS, even when in port.
I know when bombers raid ports in SH3 the FPS drops something horrible, but i heard this was a due sound/wav file problem rather than a graphics one. I could be wrong though....

Being the graphics ho that I am I like to see what's going on underwater though OLCE2 makes it very dark as you get deeper so you can't really see much once you get through ~120m.

Don't feel too bad. I've read many accounts of u-boats reporting seeing lifeboats and then the survivors never being heard from again, but I've read just as many reports of survivors rowing several hundred miles to safety. Just 'cause they can't see land doesn't mean it's not there.:sunny:

okay, a little background, U-221, although listed as a type VIIC, was actually a type VIIE with a pair of V-12 desiel engines built by Deutz. The light weight offered by the new engines gave it an incredible boost in speed (22 kts) and a phenonenal increase in range, as most of the bigles were cut out to install the engines. Recently declassified reports listed the one Type VIIE to have range equivalent to a type IXB. Although U-221 was listed to be a regular front-line boat with a regularly stellar career, She actually served in almost every theater, excluding the pacific and Black Sea. To keep this vail of secrecy maintained, Donitz ordered that no pictures were to be taken of her, and that her ingresses/egresses kept completely secret. However, with todays declassified reports, and the technology offered, only 3 pictures were found that seemed relevant to the U-221, painted black, with no tower emblem, so that she could not be identified at night, or in the daytime. Please note that all pictures have been enhanced, and color has been added.

From a passing Bf-109, U-221 appears to be in the upper right quarter.

Bad weather, pitch black night, northwest of Ireland. After diving away from a swordfish patrol, sonar man starts shouting, frachter, krieghship, fast, closing.
This task force about to run me over going estimated 18 knots. Headed by the Hood, Invincible and couple of battleships. Had about 2 minutes to try to get into position. Naturally I aimed at the Invincible but it was too late to setup the attack, so I fired two eels each to the next two big shadows in the dark. Immediately diving to 100m.

I hear the torpedoes hit! My first battleship sunk, Revenge class!
