Actually it has been done by Racerboy but as shown in the pictures adopted and reworked by the WAC Team.
The pictures show WAC4.1.

How do you remove the interface when taking screenshots?

Just make sure your "Num Lock" is 'on' and just use the "Del" key to toggle the interface on and off at will.

Only 3 torps left, get the frock outta Scapa and head for home, but then a little trouble. Guess the destroyer got a message off.

It dropped a couple charges, but missed WAY off. Fled submerged. On the way down the coast I found an ASW Trawler and tried to take her. Missed with two torps and called it quits. Only 1 rear torp left, so I SLOWLY evacuated the area. Trawler kept dropping charges, but didn't find me. Made it back to Willhelmshaven with minor damage and only about 2500 tons sunk. Better than nothing I guess.
Next patrol looks to be grid AM 11 ... should be interesting.

Thanks!, Mod is a good name.. :hmmm: They are more or less... i think 5-6 Mods were made in one Package, for a while i started to collecting nice additions from supermods, or other little Mods that we're "Not" compatible with GWX. And than i finally know how the system with Silent3Ditor works, and summarily tried to get all Mods in one Package. Those Screens show you that i was succesfull and they work with GWX, even after long corrections. :salute:

Actually only the two german big harbours and St.Nazaire have been reworked with original models. All other harbours do also have new models like lighthouses, pier wall or sub pens, but Kiel and WHV do really stand out in that case with these new 3d buildings.

I wait for the sunset and attacked, now my WO noticed an Warship. (Hilskreuzer - HMS Voltaire) so i decided to give him a shot...:know:

My first unofficial "official" SH3 screenshot: after reinstall of game/GW3/etc., I'm redoing all the Academy exams to see if I can still get a decent passing grade with all the mods installed, lol. Navigation was still a snap and I was having so much fun that after I surfaced I just kept sailing and then turned west as the sun went down.

Truly annoying is the fact that a couple months ago, when all I had was the stock game, I got an "excellent" on this exam after a couple of training rounds just by having the WO order men to the gun and then telling them to fire at will at any incoming targets. I completed the primary objective and then finished off all the remaining planes without much difficulty. Or, I should say, my gunner did. I just stood there and watched. Rank does have its little privileges. :O:

Now I do the same thing to start and after about 5 seconds someone is yelling "Mein Gott" and my gunner is dead.

I've even tried just setting up camp in the Crew/Damage Management screen or whatever it's called, just to have a headstart on not, you know, losing my entire boat.

Once I actually managed to down the requisite five planes to complete the primary objective, but of course that was on a training run and didn't count.

It also gives you a good indication as to how hard the planes have been made in GWX. This gives you a sense that they are actually dangerous and you should dive in preference to fighting it out on the surface when they turn up.

Well, that's awesome, thanks. I was only going through the Academy again to get renown anyway, especially with the flak gun exam since extra training there seemed kinda pointless. 'Cause as TarJak said, I was already assuming that the heightened realism in GWX was probably going to make any encounter with enemy planes really, really unpleasant, even early in the war, which was indeed obvious once I tried it in the Academy. In game play just like it was in RL it seems like the only sensible thing is to dive and get the heck out of there if you can.

I guess my use of the '+' sign did make it sound like you had to hit them together. Sorry about that. As long as NumLock is on the Del key will turn the HUD on and off.

It was night and my engines were silent. Of course, the destroyer spotted my periscope, barely above the water from 3 km away. So I went to flank and dove to 25 m and drove in. I surfaced to periscope and snapped a two torpedo salvo at the first Lg merchant, set for magnetic det 12 m or so depth. Two hits. Got rammed by and depth charged by the destroyer, dove back to 25 m, made repairs, and turned toward the next large merchant. Made the same kind of shot from point blank range, heard the impacts as I dove down to 160 m, just above crush depth, to wait the destroyer out. I don't know about y'all, but I find that (Dec, 1941) at that depth, I am pretty much invulnerable to depth charge attack. I go to all stop, reload my torpedoes, then rest up my crew, waiting for the destroyer to give up and rejoin his convoy. I may have to go to 1 Kt briefly and get some distance on him. Seems to work every time.
Anyway, the 1st merchant sank very quickly, but the 2nd, with a flooded bow section, kept on keeping on. I chased him down, and manually shot him again from the stern from close range--hit, but seemingly no effect. I shot him again, again a hit, blowing off his prop, but wouldn't sink. Finally I motored to the shot you see in the picture and this shot did for him. He took 6 torpedoes, as far as I could tell, all hits.
Question--are the warheads (not the pistols, I know how unreliable they are) less effective on TI and TII torpedoes early in the war?

Well, it's the Type VIIC Stock/GWX3 Model with 'Das Boot' Skin that i modified a bit, the Tower + Apps like those Netzabweiser i picked from WAC and reworked them for GWX.

and ha ha i snuck away totally clean, the destroyers never even got close. all the depth charges were "aft of us... way aft of us."

so much fun to watch them disappear in my rearview mirror, so to speak, still dropping charges at someone that wasn't even there.

to be fair i am still playing at 0% realism, lol, and probably will be there for a while. don't know you all do it playing with more realism, i think i will have to work my way there through many careers and lost lives.

still - feels good to finish a mission among the living.

to be fair i am still playing at 0% realism, lol, and probably will be there for a while. don't know you all do it playing with more realism, i think i will have to work my way there through many careers and lost lives.
To be fair, and honest, I suck at manual targeting and probably always will. Part of my problem is that I don't really care. Even with WE Assistance I still don't hit all the time. I pretend the calculations are going on, so I make slow approaches and lots of periscope observations. Also I'm addicted to the external views, but the rest - the approach, attack, and escape - are all done as accurately as I can make it. Once the hunt is on, the external is off.

I am finding the external view very useful right now, using it to see what is going on topside and comparing it with hydrophone reports and map contacts... it's helping me learn to visualize what is going on up there because I can compare what I think is going on, with what is really going on.

Also it was very fun watching those destroyers running back and forth furiously dropping depth charges 300, 400, 500 km behind me as a I snuck away. HA HA SEE YA SUCKERS!

I have a feeling manual targeting will be the last bit of realism I get around to, lol, and when I do I will be practicing it on as many lone, preferably unarmed merchants as I can find.

:yep: Blimps are modelled in GWX 3. US east Coast in '42 through '45 is the place to find 'em.

Yes, they can be destroyed but it's difficult. I tried once and almost got blown to pieces by its bomb load; the blimp got away.

Honestly I don't know if my current machine will run it, at least not with as much OOOH SHINY as I'd like. And I'm probably not going to be upgrading anything for a while since this rig's only a few months old.

I'll have to see what the final specs are when it comes out and what the initial reports are like from the people who get it right away. Even then, I'd probably wait a while. I haven't even begun to fully enjoy SH3 yet, lol.

Altho the prospect of having access to the full interior of a Type VII might entice me, just for gits and shiggles.
