Armed street fighting, indiscriminate shootings and riots like the 2021 storm on Congress.
They have seen it before and fear it will happen again.
That's why Pat Klidtgaard from Wisconsin and her son, Eric, are taking no chances. They pretty much never leave their home unarmed, they just bought new guns and make sure to keep up with their shooting practice.

These are the same people who looked the entire nation in the eyes claiming Joe was ok and very capable. You know, "cheap fakes". Joe requiring a handler because he kept wondering off. Joe lost his train of thought constantly. The entire nation witnessed his decline yet gaslighted by Harris, Dr Jill, Jean-Pierre and the rest of the power hungry Democrats. These people willing covered up and lied. Yet here we are celebrating Harris, reinvigorated and turning a blind eye to Dems not caring what the public voted for. Democracy. It has no meaning anymore.
Why not let the public decide in November? According to you guys, the Dems have screwed over a good number of Americans with this move, so by that logic those Americans will let their opinions be heard in the upcoming vote. This should be good news for conservatives! Rejoice!

Logically yes. However, I do not see Trump winning in Nov. even if Biden stays in the race. Election integrity is gone. Just too many doors open for fraud. In fact, I will go so far as to say unless the voting process changes there will never be a Republican in the White House again.

The interesting part is the Democrat voters, by and large, just go along with whatever their party instructs them to. A lot like the Cult of Trump voters.
Now it's the Republicans who have the old man candidate, one who is slipping and has trouble speaking and finishing a thought. I tried to watch Trump's Nom speech, good lord, that man has a rare talent to blather. :haha:
The real stakes are one candidate will allow open borders and one promises to enact the greatest deportation action since Eisenhower. I know which one I will be voting for. If I wanted to live in South America/Mexico, I would emigrate.

Knife stabbing crime has increased by a factor of 8+ in Germany since 2015 when Merkel ("CDU") declared all borders open. Almost the complete rise is from migrant offenders, whio are also massiveky overrepresented in a serie sof other serious crime categories. You are not allowed to say that over here, since then you are a racist. They just have tighten the laws, banning all Germans from carrying even pocket knives with a blade length of greater than 6 cm outside their living rooms, because if law-obedient millions of Germans have these taken away from them, criminal scum from other countries marauding and stabbing and raping around will stop doing so. :hmmm:
My two Swiss army pocket knives, have blade lengths of 6.5cm. They are always on my belt. I have no intention to comply with this idiots' law. I dont see it as "being armed", the blade also cannot be arrested, Swiss army pocket knives for me simply are small toolboxes.
They now even sell small pocket knives with the pointed tip broken off. They look like huge screw drivers, because a screw driver is harmless and cannot be used to injure or kill. :88)
Originally the authors of that law wanted the ban from blade length of 4 cm on.
Enjoy your gun license. Sooner or later they will take it away from you again. Just wait and see. They cant get the cirminals, for many reasons, and they also do not want to go after them. Thats why they go after guys like you. You are the problenm, you see, not the criminals. The criminals are just victims of circumstances. :03:

I dont have the license yet. It will take some time and work to prepare for exams. But the next year the license will be harder to obtain.
Hope they will not be able to take them away, because we added right for defense into our constitution:
“The right to defend one's own life or the life of another person with a weapon is guaranteed under the conditions laid down by law.”
Yes, because of EU.
You are right - EU doesnt protect its borders which is increasing the criminality and they would like to disarm legal gun owners in this situation. Which is totally crazy.
The situation in Germany is very bad and I dont want to see my country in the same situation. I read the news about criminality there. According the statistics there are 2 gangrapes daily in Germany. Insane. How could they let those illegal migrants in and let them make those horrible crimes on own citizens?

The correct term are I think "cultural enrichment", "open society" and "cultural diversity".
Some days ago ministries in Berlin were all flagged in rainbow flags, replacing the black-red-gold-with-eagle's-head in it, which is the official seal of the federal republic.
Its all turning - no, its all being turned into a nuthouse.
The destruction of all social and cultural certainties and historically grown cultural identity is the desired goal. All social relations founded on "family", "mother-father-children" and "man and woman" should be destroyed so that the - left-extremist - state can take their place as the only source of identity - dependency. Thats why they also want to control children relations to their parents from as young on as possible. At best from before the age of one year of age.
Destroying the social order and biological source of identity-definition, that is what they want.

Anyway, I would suggest the reason the Trumpist GOP is a losing brand is it's not in tune with the majority of US citizens. It's backwards thinking trying to force an American mythology down the throats of a majority that don't buy into it.
Also, the GOP has proven by the current Congress that it can't govern, that it is broken into infighting factions, that it can never admit it's wrong about anything, can never compromise and will just keep steaming into the iceberg.

Trump barely won and I would suggest it was a combination of Trump the unknown and Clinton as a candidate with lots of baggage. I didn't vote for either of them.
In part, the GOP decided by the Dobbs decision to look backwards and repeal reproductive rights that had been the law since 1973. They caught the car on that one and are now stuck with the backlash.

Agreed. By and large the loathing of Hillary did help Trump. Much of the greater voting public still loath Hillary.
Reproductive rights was never to be handled or decided at a federal level from understanding. It is a states decision. In the large scheme of things, it is not as much of a backlash as the dwindling dollars buying power is.
Harris have been strong on reproductive rights. Abysmal with the border. She has not offered much else in her 4 years. But then again, what VP do? She has a lot of shredding to do. I do not see a favorable outcome.

You know perfectly well where the push for that came from.
Trump-aligned billionaires and venture capitalists—Bill Ackman, Elon Musk and David Sacks—mocked President Joe Biden for dropping out of the 2024 election through a digitally signed letter posted on social media, appearing to fan an emerging conspiracy theory among right-wing pundits suggesting Biden withdrew without his knowledge or willingness.

Biden will address the nation tonight. I'm sure he was unwilling to drop out but was convinced it was best. Sure, he could possibly win in Nov but what about the 4 years he needs to be working as president?
I'm not a Biden fan by any means, however, I feel a sad for Joe. He certainly did not want to finish out his 4 years like this.

I am generally not a conspiracy theorist, but it's not adding up. Even if we admit a few mistakes can be made by the SS, how can we have so many failures one overlapping the other that came an inch from killing Trump. It seems the primary evidence to know who knew what and when would be the radio transmissions, but then we're told there were no recordings.... none. How can that be? I assume like police all the radio transmissions are saved on a server and someone would have to direct they be deleted or archived. This is as fishy as before the GOP majority took the house the House Select Committee on Jan 6th deleted more than 100 encrypted files and the SS erased text messages from January 5 and 6, 2021, as part of a ‘device-replacement program'... As we say here in the mountains, that dog don't hunt. It seems some powers that be had a plan A to take out Trump, that failing, plan B.. take out Joe. We are headed into uncharted waters and I fear a bad outcome.

Who is Mark Kelly? The astronaut who could be Kamala Harris’ running mate
Aformer fighter pilot and Nasa astronaut who has flown 20 million miles in space is a top contender to become Kamala Harris’s running mate.
Mark Kelly, 60, the Arizona senator, has a record of beating candidates endorsed by Donald Trump in the vital battleground state where Ms Harris is trailing her Republican rival.
He has commanded shuttle missions on the Discovery and Endeavour and flew 39 missions as a US navy pilot during the Gulf War before retiring to care for his wife who was shot in the head in an attempted assassination.
Democrat strategists told The Telegraph that Mr Kelly, who has a strong record on immigration, would be a “formidable choice” for Ms Harris and could help prop her up in her weaker areas.
Mr Kelly was among the potential vice-presidential candidates Ms Harris called after Joe Biden stepped down as the Democrat candidate.
An official vetting process then began and ABC reported that Mr Kelly and Josh Shapiro, the Pennsylvania governor, were the two leading contenders for the role.
Born and raised in New Jersey to two police officers, Mr Kelly’s mother became the first female officer at the West Orange Police Department.
Mr Kelly attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy before becoming a navy pilot. During his air force career, he was deployed several times on the aircraft carrier USS Midway and flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm.
He spent more than 50 days in space, travelling more than 20 million miles, after he and his identical twin brother, Scott, were selected as astronauts in the same Nasa class in 1996.
He retired from Nasa in 2011 after commanding Space Shuttle Endeavour on its final flight and after his wife, the former US representative wife Gabrielle Giffords, survived an assassination attempt in 2011.
Six people were killed in the attack in a supermarket in Tucson and Mr Kelly dedicated himself to helping Ms Giffords, who was left disabled after she was shot in the head.
The couple became vocal gun control advocates, starting gun control non-profit Giffords to call for stricter laws.
Mr Kelly entered politics in 2020, winning a difficult senate race to fill John McCain’s seat.
He was re-elected two years later, beating Republican Blake Masters, who had been endorsed by Trump, by more than 125,000 votes.
While Ms Harris has already been attacked by the Trump campaign as the “border tsar”, Mr Kelly was a vocal critic of some of Mr Biden’s policies such as reversing the Trump-era Title 42.
Mr Kelly also has a strong record for abortion. He pushed for access for women in Arizona, which has a 15-week ban.
Democrat strategist Jason Oritz said: “He’s run tough races in a tough state.”
He said that while Trump had selected JD Vance, who double’s down on the former president’s views, Mr Kelly would “differentiate the ticket” adding “a centrist Democrat from a purple state where Democrats need help”.
He said the Republicans “should be very nervous” about the potential running mate.
The Arizona senator was also described as the “smartest selection” by Washington Post columnist Karen Tumulty.
Mr Kelly has so far avoided questions about taking the job.
He told ABC News: “This is not about me. I’m going to be focused on doing everything I can to make sure she is elected because we cannot have a repeat of what we saw between 2016 and 2020.”

Al Capone was a murderer, thief, and smuggler, everyone knew it, they just couldn't "prove" it in a court of law. The same can be said for the "Mafia", and today the drug "Cartels". Voter fraud isn't any different, The justice department gets the "low hanging fruit" once in awhile, but the people running the show are too well insulated and voter fraud is most effective at the local/state level due to the varied election laws and procedures.
You know perfectly well where the push for that came from. The "push" was a result of a bad ruling by the Supreme Court, even Justice Ginsburg (a prominent advocate of abortion rights) felt the decision was flawed. I'm with Trump on this, the question is not one for the Federal Government, It's a question each State must answer for itself, some of them will allow unfettered access to abortion, while others will heavily restrict access. If you don't like the abortion laws in your state you are still free to move to a state that aligns better with your moral code. People move from State to State for various reasons all the time.

Trump backs out of debate as camp says it's 'inappropriate to schedule things with Harris'
Donald Trump is reportedly backing out of a scheduled September debate.
That's according to Sam Stein, of The Bulwark and MSNBC, who wrote on the social media app X on Thursday night that the decision was made, "given the continued political chaos" surrounding Joe Biden and the Democrat Party.
The statement from the Trump campaign used attacking nicknames often deployed by the former president and said debate details could not be finalized until Democrats formally decide on a nominee.
"There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party - namely Barack Hussein Obama - that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone 'better.' Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds," the statement said.
The ABC News debate had been scheduled for Sept. 10 and was initially to feature Biden and Trump.

Trump backs out of debate as camp says it's 'inappropriate to schedule things with Harris'
One best thing Trump could do at this point is debate. Harris has nothing to run on except abortion rights. Her record is horrible in all facets of her career. Trump needs to drive home her horrible handling of resolving the border issue.
However, the media will have revisionist history of Harris career. Smelling like roses to be sure.

Could well be but I'm wondering if Trump is worried he may now look like the only remaining senile old man in the race for the POTUS
Harris must surely be more accomplished (given the right coaching obviously) at debating than Biden is.

According Sam Stein, of The Bulwark and MSNBC? Who the hell is Sam Stein and what does he have to do with scheduling Trump’s debates?
Id wager big money that if anyone in the Trump campaign did say its an inappropriate time. It would be due the fact Democrats have yet to formerly nominate a president or a vice president. Makes perfect sense to want to wait for that to happen first don’t you think?
That way if Harris botched the debate before she’s even nominated they can’t pull a switcheroo like they did with Biden when he made a fool of himself.

Otherwise if Harris botched the debate before she’s even nominated they can’t pull a switcheroo like they did with Biden when he made a fool of himself.
Two things:
1. Formal debates occur after both nominations are complete. Note, the dems agreed to debate PRIOR to Joe Biden being nominated officially. This IMO was by design and the true groundwork for giving Biden the boot.
2. Trumps campaign staff needs to regroup because they were baited with Biden and planned accordingly. Then the dems did the switch. Now, it is best to let the "We love Kamala" fanfare to die down. Give the general public time to really see Harris as so far left she is beyond plant Pluto.
Let Harris talk as much as she likes. It will be quite evident she is not up to the task. She will be seen as a puppet. And the continual use of racism and sexism will not serve her well. If there truly was racism or sexism she would not be VP. Racism narrative left the building after Obama two terms.

Now we wait for the opposition party’s delegates vote a second time to nominate another candidate before committing to a second debate. I believe the deadline for the Democrats to nominate Harris is August 7th.

Biden secured the nomination when delegates voted on March 12th. Conventions aren’t what they used to be decades ago. Today they’re held merely for the sake of procedure, an ornamental show. And I don’t think Trump campaign was baited into the debate either. His campaign knew full well Biden couldn’t succeed in the debate it was like stealing candy from a baby. Afterwards Trump even went so far as say Harris will be even be easier to beat. Only time can tell if he’s telling the truth.

This ^
An unheard of pre-convention debate and the rules also leveled the playing field compared to previous ones giving Biden plenty of opportunity to soil himself. It had to be a way to break his lock on the party delegates. Without it they wouldn't have had the political ammo required to force him out.
Could well be but I'm wondering if Trump is worried he may now look like the only remaining senile old man in the race for the POTUS
I'm thinking that until she is declared the nominee it would be pointless to schedule a debate. There will be plenty of time to reschedule with whoever walks out of the Dem convention as their official no take backs nominee.

Nikki Haley says Harris is Democrats’ ‘weakest candidate’ – but DEI attacks ‘aren’t helpful’
Former GOP presidential candidate and one-time UN Ambassador Nikki Haley said Republicans trying to paint Vice President Kamala Harris as a "DEI" candidate are not helping Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign.
Haley made the comments on Thursday during an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper.
She suggested that Republicans focus on Harris’s policies and her past as a politician in their criticisms, not her skin color or her gender. “It’s not helpful,” Haley said. “There’s so many issues we can talk about when it comes to Kamala Harris that it doesn’t matter what she looks like. It matters what she’s said, what she’s fought for, and the lack of results that she’s had because of it.”
Haley offered her own criticisms of Harris, saying the vice president was the "weakest candidate" the Democrats could have picked to replace Joe Biden, who announced his departure from the 2024 race on Sunday.
“She is much more progressive than Joe Biden ever was,” Haley said. “So, the fact they put in Kamala Harris – kudos for putting in someone younger – the fact that you put in one of the most liberal politicians you probably could have put in, it’s going to be an issue.”
Some Republicans have opted to focus on Harris' person, rather than her policies, in their attacks. Trump running mate Senator JD Vance attacked women such as Harris and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for not having children and, in his estimation no "direct stake" in the future of the US.
"We are effectively run in this country, via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too," Vance said in the 2021 clip from Tucker Carlson's Fox News show.
He continued, explaining his disdain for Americans who do not have children of their own.
"And it's just a basic fact, if you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC – the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children," he said. "And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it."
Vance's opinions are not in line with the Constitution, which does not differentiate between Americans with children and those without. Even if it was, Vance is wrong about Harris — she is a stepmother.
Harris' stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, 25, responded to the video of Vance — which went viral this week — by posting to Instagram that she considers the vice president a third parent.
"How can you be 'childless' when you have cutie pie kids like cole and I," she wrote on Thursday. "I love my three parents."
Kerstin Emhoff, who is the ex-wife of Harris's husband, Doug Emhoff, also voiced her belief that the vice president is just as much as parent as any biological parent.
"These are baseless attacks. For over 10 years, since Cole and Ella were teenagers, Kamala has been a co-parent with Doug and I," she wrote in a statement to CNN on Wednesday. “She is loving, nurturing, fiercely protective, and always present. I love our blended family and am grateful to have her in it.”
According to the US Census Bureau, approximately 40 percent of American families are blended with at least one partner having a child from a previous relationship before marriage. That's a lot of people who, in Vance's estimation, aren't real parents.
Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren shared similar sentiments to Haley during a recent segment on Fox News. She said conservatives attacking Harris about her motherhood and suggesting she is a "DEI" candidate because she is black and a woman may be alienating to a massive portion of the electorate.
"The attacks on her personally on whatever her past personally may have been or calling her a childless lady, none of those are going to work," she said. "They are going to make women second-guess their support for what they may have felt for Donald Trump. Bad move."

Same thing I told the missus and we were not talking politics.
I've already noted my "rope a dope" theory regarding how the DEMs would stymie the GOP around the RNC Convention by not making any final decision on Biden staying on the ticket until after the GOP locked in Trump as their guy and then pick their own VP candidate; I was right that they let the GOP write their own plan for failure and the DEMs have been quick to capitalize on the GOP missteps; what I didn't expect was the really genius way the announcement of Biden's departure from the race was carried out; it has long been a sort of tradition in DC politics that if there was something you wanted to reveal that was potentially embarrassing or controversial, you did it at the very end of the week on very late Friday afternoon or evening, thus bypassing the normal week's news cycle; all the networks' news division would already have closed up shop for the weekend and the remaining staff would be mainly second stringers not up to the task of handling a major breaking story with anything near approaching the more polished presentation and analysis of the star journalists; the Biden goodbye was announced on a Sunday afternoon and it was an even further genius stroke than the usual 'Friday Night Surprise' ploy; on a Sunday, not only are the networks expecting any sort of major decision from the pols in DC, they are even less equipped to deal with a full analysis of a major breaking story because almost none of even their second stringers are available after the Sunday morning news shows have aired (Meet The Press, Face The Nation, Fox News Sunday, etc.); by making the Biden announcement after the talking head news shows were done, the DEMs assured there would be very little of the sort of 'in depth' reportage one would see if a story broke out in midweek; I don't know about elsewhere, but here, in Los Angeles, only two networks preempted their usual Sunday fare of sports, etc., to give any extensive reportage of the Biden decision; CBS and FOX in LA carried several hours of coverage, with CBS having to make do without their high power news anchors and FOX tried to make do with rehashing old Biden news stories and other such filler since they appeared to not have any idea what was happening; the ABC and NBC network LA affiliates didn't even bother to try to cover the story, instead continuing to show sports programs they had already scheduled (NBC aired a NASCAR race with not even a chyron crawl noting the breaking news); by making the announcement on that Sunday late afternoon, the DEMs got maximum impact with very little of the pushback that would have accompanied a midweek announcement; it also put the Trump camp back on its heels since there were virtually none of the usually available outlets for them to comment/respond to the news; I was very, very surprised by the DEM move and wonder what else they might have up their sleeves...

You can't blame democrats for the RNC abandoning all their down ticket races with a putsch for a cult of personality, nor for donation funds being misrouted for paying an individual's legal fees, nor for creating the most do-nothing House in history that's going into summer recess with nothing to show their constituency as accomplishments, and will resume with another appropriation bill to argue over further showing the American people that shutting down the government is somehow good right before an election.
It's the bed you made brown nosing to a felonious loser instead of leading and now you whine about how it's all unfair like the loser you support.

The Dems take no blame for anything. That is well established. Further, if it was anyone but Trump there never would have been a fraud trial. Face fact here.
I'm not sure what tangent you are going on about with shutting down the government before an election. In Jan 19th 2018, the government briefly shut down when Democrats in Congress tried to force Republicans to protect beneficiaries of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. Trump was going to cancel DACA. Republican voted on it later to reopen the government.
And you might want to define "you". For your edification, I do not support either of them. I have two choices. Well three. Kennedy. I have a write-in vote. My vote counts right? But I can assure you Harris is not up to the task.

If a person who was going to vote for President Trump in November was in the ocean beside 120 year old Adolf Hitler, who had somehow escaped his fate and had been happily living in Argentina before arriving in the ocean, who would a democrat throw his only life ring to in order to prevent one of them drowning?
I hope both parties come up with better candidates soon otherwise it will be a vote for either:
1. Evil
2. Stupid
If I were a US citizen I couldn't do it!! :k_confused:

I, would say the Democrat would keep their life ring and kill anyone that that gets close to them. Why would a rat give their ring to anyone? If they couldn't save themselves and prosper from the dying all around them.
The number of Democrats urging Biden to withdraw is now rising inexorably, there is no going back.
At the same time, Trump has transformed the former Republican Party into a pseudo-religious sect with a messianic sense of mission and an unparalleled cult of personality. One wonders what will happen in view of this religious exaltation of their savior if, contrary to expectations, the Trumpians lose the election...?
I no longer want to rule out civil war-like scenarios. In any case, the USA is facing many long years of internal unrest and increasing discord. One wonders whether this can ever heal. I have growing doubts, I no longer believe it.

Yes I as an American, We are tired of these wars. The billions of dollars spent for what? Hell what is the American people getting for their money. The same as the German and the rest of the citizens of NATO not a goddamn thing. It's time to unseat the Globalist. After all it's the wealthy who believe that they have the higher IQ.Right Skybird ? Wasn't it the wealthy with the higher IQ that started all our priour wars ? It didn't work out to well for the thousands who believed and died for their cause their families lived the rest of their lives in destitute and poverty. But the high IQ's ,well we are still voting for them or their relatives today.Right ? If only Eutopia can be found. But Shangri-La can be found in James Hilton's 1933 novel, Lost Horizon.

You been duped again buddy.
Eight states did not have any requirements and would allow voters to write in any name as a write-in vote. Those states were Alabama, Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, and Wyoming.
Thirty-three states would only accept votes for write-in candidates who officially registered with the state. In order for the vote to be counted, the candidate must have submitted all the necessary registration documents by a specific deadline, either by filing paperwork, paying a fee, collecting signatures, or some combination of the aforementioned.
Nine states (Arkansas, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina and South Dakota), did not allow write-in votes.

The video speaks truth. She is not popular. The states she is falling behind in all have the same theme. Economy is horrible. The border is worse yet. She is associated with the poor economy via Biden. Concerning the border, Dems are doing their best to claim she was not the border Czar. Numerous media outlets labeled her as the border Czar. They never denied it. Biden put her to task. Her(probably someone else's idea she simply ran with it) idea to solve the crisis at the border is to funnel 5.2 billion into South America for infrastructure making such a great place to live that none will want to enter the USA legally or illegally. And it does sound like a plausible idea. However, it does not solve the immediate issue at hand. She is an open border policy supporter. This will not sit well.

Seymour Hersh: Obama and Kamala threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment on Biden before he dropped out
"Obama called Biden after breakfast and said, ‘Here’s the deal. We have Kamala’s approval to invoke the 25th Amendment.'"
A new Substack out from Seymour Hersch indicates that former President Barack Obama and VP Kamala Harris (https://thepostmillennial.com/kamala-told-harvey-milk-democratic-club-she-wanted-to-be-honorary-sex-worker-report), now presumptive Democrat nominee for president, threatened (https://humanevents.com/2024/07/26/libby-emmons-this-is-not-what-democracy-looks-like) sitting President Joe Biden with the potential invocation of the 25th Amendment if he didn't drop out the presidential race and cede that spot to the veep. This would mean that not only did they force Biden out of the race, but that the Democrats know full well that Biden isn't fit to serve out the rest of his term, but are comfortable letting him continued as a figure head if it serves their efforts to retain power for the party.

Yeah it would explain Bidens abrupt reversal. He was pretty adamant that he was staying in the race, then practically overnight he's suddenly bowing out "in the best interests of the party and the nation". That's quite a turn around with no ostensible cause unless it was something like this.
It might also explain why his announcement wasn't on White House stationary and had an odd signature. Somebody else wrote it, maybe Obama from his desk in Martha's Vineyard, and shoved it into his hand with a pen and a threat to sign it or else.

That sounds a bit cloak and dagger to me. Joe was going to lose. And if he did win, making it another 4 years was not in the cards. Sadly, Jill was pushing her husband IMO. She has been pushing him for the last 2 1/2 years. She pushed him to keep running and his biggest cheerleader. She is trying to save face and a "legacy" if there is one. There was simply no way this was going to work. She had Joe pulled from the race. Not to mention, donors were vocal and checkbooks closed.
Do I think Obama was called from time to time for advise? Called for advise with Joe? Most certainly. But I do not really believe either he or Michelle have any interest in going into public life again. If they did, Michelle would be front and center campaigning. Things are much better in HI and writing books no one buys.
Looking at the betting odds...Trump 278 electoral votes to Harris at 260.

I don't see the Obamas as wanting to seek public office but they do consider themselves to be party king makers and that is something a king maker might do.
Re the polls. RCP has Trump up another half a percentage point 48.1% to Harris' 46.1%. I think short of Trump making a mistake the Dem convention is probably going to be her last real chance at closing the gap.

No doubt the Obamas are holding the strings to the Marionette.
As of right now Harris is shiny and new. There is excitement and "vibe". It will go on until the convention. However, like anything shiny and new, it gets dull. The wheels fall off. It is not what you thought when purchased. The excitement dies. As far as polls, Real Clear Politics is IMO the best. Although I find polls more influential and manipulative, RCP has Trump up as of today by 2 points. Last week it was 1.5 points. Harris is not closing any gap according to RCP polling.
The crazy thing here is the fact we all thought Trump was finished after Jan 6th. Here we are, Trump got the nomination. Nothing surprises me anymore.

JD Vance – who has biracial children – tries to dismiss Trump’s attack on Harris’ heritage as ‘hysterical’
JD Vance, who has three biracial children with his wife of Indian heritage, has tried to brush off Donald Trump’s stunning attack on Kamala Harris’ racial heritage by calling the backlash “hysterical.”
The Republican vice presidential nominee – who is also facing backlash over his misogynistic comments branding Harris and other women “childless cat ladies” – was asked about the former president’s comments on his campaign plane on the way to a rally in Arizona on Wednesday.
“I frankly just think it’s hysterical how much the media is overreacting to it,” he said, before leaping to defend Trump.
“How nice it is to have an American leader who's not afraid to go into hostile places and actually answer some tough questions,” he said.
“I think he pointed out the fundamental chameleon-like nature of Kamala Harris,” Vance continued.
“She’s flip flopped on every issue. She’s fake. She’s phony. And I think our whole campaign is going to have a very fun time pointing that out. And it sounds like the president kicked us off in stride.”
The former president sparked outrage on Wednesday when he wildly questioned Harris’ heritage and claimed she “happened to turn Black” during an interview on stage at the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago.
“She was always of Indian heritage. And she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black,” the 78-year-old claimed to gasps from the crowd.
“So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”
He added: “I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t, because she was Indian all the way and all of a sudden she made a turn and she became a Black person.”
Harris is the first African-American and Asian-American vice president. Her father is Jamaican economist and Stanford University professor Donald J. Harris, and her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was a biomedical scientist from India.
Vance’s defense of his running mate comes despite his own wife being of Indian heritage, meaning that his children are, like Harris, biracial.
Vance married Usha Chilukuri in an interfaith Christian and Hindu marriage ceremony in 2014 after the couple met while attending Yale Law School.
Republican Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton – a major MAGA loyalist – also jumped to defend Trump, telling CNN’s Kaitlin Collins that “of course” Trump’s comments are defensible.
But, when pushed to answer if questioning a fellow politician’s race is right and if it will even win any votes for the Republican Party, the senator avoided the question and instead labeled Harris as a “dangerous San Fransisco liberal”.
Vance and Collins are in something of a minority in defending Trump for his racially-charged comments.
Fellow Republican party member and former governor of Maryland Larry Hogan condemned Trump in a post on X.
“It's unacceptable and abhorrent to attack Vice President Harris or anyone's racial identity. The American People deserve better,” he wrote.
Harris responded to Trump later on Wednesday when she appeared at a Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority gathering in Houston, Texas.
The Democratic presidential candidate dismissed Trump’s comments as “the same old show of divisiveness and disrespect” and said: “America deserves better.”
Her potential vice presidential pick Arizona Senator Mark Kelly also blasted Trump by denouncing him as a “scared old man”.
“It was very obvious to me watching him, and just what I've seen over the last week while she's been across the country just his kicking butt, that he's afraid,” the senator added.
“He's afraid to debate her. He's certainly afraid to lose an election to her in November, and he's afraid about his own future.”
Trump’s stunning comments are far from the first shocking remarks to come from his campaign.
Over the last week, Vance and Trump have been in damage control after a 2021 clip of the vice presidential candidate resurfaced showing him calling Harris and other Democrats “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives”.

Biracial is one thing. Harris stating she is black is identity politics. Her heritage shows otherwise. However, in some peoples thinking if one identifies as a muskrat they are a muskrat. Yet all indications show otherwise. This is why we are no finding cat litterboxes in schools for the kids who identify as a cat. Yes, in Calvert county MD a few public schools have litterboxes. Family in this county school system pulled their child from the school as a result.

Reporting as the United States and Russia were consummating a prisoner swap that will return Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and ex-U.S. Marine Paul Whelan to the U.S., Washington correspondent April Ryan claimed it was a "big win" for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris as the election nears.
Speaking with MSNBC host Ana Cabrera, the Grio's Ryan noted negotiations have been going on for months, long before WNBC star Brittney Griner was released in December of 2022 due to the efforts of the Biden administration.
As Ryan told the MSNBC host, "As President Biden wants to save democracy by handing over the torch to the next generation, Kamala Harris, this is a big win for him — President Biden personally and for the Biden/Harris administration."
"People have been very much pushing for the release of these Russian hostages, especially since the Brittney Griner release," she reported. "They were like, these people have been in longer, et cetera, and now potentially this is happening. We are waiting for confirmation on everything."
"Senatorial leaders as well as those on the Hill, national security, ...everyone is waiting for full confirmation on this, but that's what's in play," she continued before elaborating, "This is a big deal. The president is going to leave in the next six months with a huge win. The economy is growing. He's releasing hostages that the American people have been so concerned about, and he's now passed the torch. So he has got a very big win this this moment, when we are waiting for great news."

Obama's father was black, his mother was white, and he was called black by everyone. Harris's father was black, her mother was Asian, and she's not called black by MAGA?
Tell me, just how much black makes someone black? Why wasn't Obama called white?
This isn't about what MAGA calls her, it is what she chooses to self identify as, which apparently changes with the political winds.

If she can succeed in turning campaign funding into votes she just might have a chance.
Kamala Harris shatters fundraising records, leaves Trump trailing
Fewer than 100 days remain until Election Day in the United States. The election campaign is in full swing, and it is a historic one.
Just a day after Joe Biden withdrew from the race for the White House, it was clear that Kamala Harris was heading for a record in terms of fundraising for her campaign. On 22 July, the media reported that donations to Harris exceeded £41 million. Shortly after, it was revealed that she managed to raise £67 million in just 24 hours, and the tally was still climbing.
On Monday, 29 July, it was announced that in seven days, Democrats gathered £165 million for the campaign. It was emphasised that this was a huge, record-breaking collection and a historic achievement - still unofficial but certain - by the Democratic Party's presidential candidate.
Harris's campaign team reported that the majority of the amount - as much as 66 per cent - was contributed by individuals who, for the first time in this election cycle, decided to support a presidential candidate. They did so after Joe Biden announced that he was stepping down, passing the baton to Kamala Harris.
American media also noted that over 170,000 volunteers joined the Democratic Party's campaign. These volunteers will encourage American citizens to vote for the current Vice President through various methods, such as phone calls and in-person meetings.
In June, when Joe Biden was still fighting for re-election, Americans contributed £104 million to his campaign. In that month, the Democrats' account had a total of £197 million.
Donald Trump also has reasons to be satisfied. As reported by "The New York Times," in July, the Republican candidate raised as much as £114 million.
It is a huge sum but significantly smaller than the £165 million the Harris campaign gathered after voters welcomed her candidacy with great enthusiasm, the American daily emphasises.
It adds that the Republican campaign account has a total of £268 million.
"It makes July one of the Trump team’s strongest fund-raising months to date, just off the sum raised in May, when Mr. Trump’s supporters responded to his felony conviction with an outpouring of donations totalling $141 million (£115 million)," recalls "The New York Times".

But what I said about Biden-Trump is still true for me regarding Harris-Trump: its the choice between plague and cholera.

The choice between is certainly plaque or cholera. Ultimately, it's the one that has the experience locally, nationally and globally. According to Harris she has never been to Europe, Russia is a big country Ukraine is a small country. Giggles. Just her word salad is enough to know she has little understanding of anything. This includes the economy and border control. Two top concerns for voters. And she is now actively flipping what she said in 2020 so not to look so far left we can't see her anymore.
I find it odd that she was very active in cover up of Biden's cognitive decline. That means she is capable of anything. More than likely she was told what to do by Dr Jill, Pelosi and Obama.
There are too many concerns with Harris. There has always been concerns with Trump. Many unfounded. The voters know Trump and his oddball ways. In his 4 years was democracy abolished and dictatorship installed? Was a war started? Did the economy crash? Was the border open for all to pour in? We were told by Democrats these things would happen under Trump. They never did yet the Democrats today keep telling the voters the same thing.
What we will get from Harris is what we got in the past 4 years. Flying under the wire and not much usefulness. However, there will be a team behind her pushing her pen on executive order after executive order. At least Trump pushed his own pen on executive orders. Her past performance predicts her future performance. Mediocre at best.

Donald Trump agrees to head-to-head debate with Kamala Harris
Donald Trump has agreed to hold a debate with Kamala Harris, after she said she was "ready" to take him on.
Mr Trump had previously said he would not debate Ms Harris - the current vice president and likely Democrat nominee for November's election - because she was not the official candidate.
But Ms Harris has now secured enough votes from Democratic delegates to become her party's presidential nominee - though the online voting process does not end until Monday.
"I am totally prepared to accept the results of this "coup," and replace Joe on the debate stage with Crazy Kamala Harris," Mr Trump wrote on his own social media site, Truth Social.
"I spent hundreds of millions of dollars, time, and effort fighting Joe, and when I won the debate, they threw a new candidate into the ring. Not fair, but it is what it is!"
"Rules will be similar to the rules of my debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his party, but with a full arena audience," he added in a later post, referring to President Joe Biden, who has since dropped his re-election bid.
This second post was then removed for a few minutes before being reposted, with Mr Trump deleting his proposal for a "major" town hall gathering on the same date if Ms Harris was "unwilling or unable to debate".
Although no official details have been released, Mr Trump says the debate will be hosted by Fox News and will take place on 4 September.
"The Fox News debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined," he wrote.
"The moderators of the debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum."
Ms Harris had previously said last month she was "ready" after Fox News proposed a presidential debate between the two candidates.
Harris is poised to be the first woman of colour at the top of a major party's ticket. She has yet to chose her running mate, but is expected to be interviewing candidates over the weekend.
Earlier this week, Mr Trump again courted controversy after he questioned the racial identity of the vice president, drawing gasps from the audience at a convention hosted by the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago.

Lindsey Graham Tells Trump to Stop Racial Attacks on Harris: "This Is Your Election to Lose"
Senator Lindsey Graham has a clear message for former President Donald Trump: Stop targeting Vice President Kamala Harris over her race and focus on her political record instead.
In a recent interview on Fox News Sunday, the South Carolina senator, who has long supported Trump, expressed concern over the former president’s ongoing attacks on Harris' race and heritage.
Graham made it clear that his issue with Harris is her "bad judgment," not her background.
“So, here’s what I would say to President Trump,” Graham advised, as reported by Business Insider.
“The problem I have with Kamala Harris is not her heritage; it’s her judgment. Every day, we’re talking about her heritage and not her terrible, dangerous liberal record throughout her entire political life.”
Graham's remarks come as Trump has increased his racially charged comments against Harris.
Recently, during a panel interview at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago, Trump claimed he wasn’t aware that Harris was Black “until a number of years ago.”
He also posted an old photo of Harris dressed in a sari on his Truth Social platform, emphasizing her Indian heritage.
Harris has faced many race- and gender-driven attacks since becoming the likely Democratic nominee. Despite the inflammatory nature of Trump’s remarks, Graham urged him to focus on policy instead of personal attacks.
"I would encourage President Trump to prosecute the case against Kamala Harris' bad judgment," Graham said, warning that Trump could lose the election if he doesn’t change his approach. "This is your election to lose. It's important to win."
Political experts have noted that such racially charged tactics are not surprising in today’s political climate. Some believe that these attacks might get even worse as the election approaches. Thomas Hollihan, a professor at USC Annenberg, mentioned that America’s history is full of race-based political attacks, so the current situation isn't unexpected.
Representatives for Trump, Graham, and Harris have not responded to the latest developments.

It is said Harris has many open paths to victory.
Let's see--cemetery voters, late votes, blank ballots, multiple precincts, ballot stuffing--yep. That's a path.

To be fair, this is typical Trump. All have witnessed this in the past. He will never change. Perhaps Harris needs to stop with the Prosecutor and Felon, her only talking point. It is time to start talking her policies.
Happy Monday everyone.

Well no that not why the FED was created. The bullet is meant to compare FED concern now, to Yellen’s comment six months ago proclaiming we have achieved “soft landing”.

And so he is excused and his misbehaviour should be ignored, forgiven and forgotten?
No. He should be held accountable.

No. He should be held accountable.
Beating a dead horse that the media, Dems and the like continue to do is wasted energy. The entire world has heard it before. Why would anyone be aghast or surprised by this?
He was never held accountable in the past. Why start now? Lets move on to substance like policy.

When have a politician been held accountable in general ?

Speaking of not taking responsibility.
World & U.S. markets crash today and senior Biden economic advisor Gene Sperling suddenly exits stage left. Rolled out big-spending bills after bill, took credit for the immediate economic benefits.
Now when the inevitable crash comes, they flee and take zero responsibility.
"If Biden gets in, the market will crash."

The proper thing to do is holding him accountable nevertheless. Failure to do so in the past is no excuse to intentionally not do it in the future. Think of it as correcting mistakes made in past, and ending the indifference allowing them to have been made in the first.

The guy is consistent. How are they going to hold him accountable? Time out? Trump will continue being Trump no matter what accountability they are hoping for.

Biden 2.0. The word salad continues. She needs to be on the national stage unscripted. She has not given any time to the media. No need. The media is making her campaign for her. Harris is awful.

She may create word salad when she speaks, however here in Denmark and in Sweden she's being presented as candidate, who's being a major favorit to win the election in Nov. - 24
Gonna laugh when Trump wins-because this would make them speechless.
(I do not care who's gonna win in your Presidential election)
