Seeing the chrome trim with screws spaced so far apart. I figured it had to be some kind of ground vehicle that wasn’t meant to go very fast. :)

The plane we umm you are looking for was never used in a "Mistel" configuration.
It was to be a fighter or interceptor. I heard there were five built, some speak of two. Plus two mock-ups for whatever purpose.
One or two of the prototypes flew in 1945, surpassing the demands.

Hint: It started as a Messerschmitt project, but then ...

Well done Rockstar :yep:

The Blohm & Voss 155 stratospheric fighter/interceptor, derived from the ME 155 project first labelled as Messerschmitt 409 (a "Me 109 on steroids"), able to reach almost 17,000 meters of altitude, designed to intercept pressurised high-flying Liberators and the B-29. It had a DB 605 engine with a Hirth two-stage turbocharger. Its wing span was almost as wide as the later U-2 US spy plane. The two giant wing radiators were necessary to cool engine and turbochargers.

The only survivor is in the US Smithsonian National Air and Space museum:

Just an FYI the dark grey is Mare Tranquillitatis. Directly south of Armstrong crater in lighter gray is a ridge extending westward called Rimea Hypatia named after the near by crater Hypatia. The two larger crater near the bottom edge of the photo are Theophilus and Cyrillus.

I don't know, it is nowhere mentioned. Surely not with this kind of body. Vans and trucks are usually made of two components, chassis and body; I have no idea whether the underlying chassis has been used for some military purpose.

I do not know, but the radiator grille proposes that the engine is at the front, most probably with a conventional propshaft driving the rear axle (as usual at the time).

Holland is the name, over to you :salute:

"Gorgeous Art Deco Streamline Vans Made at Holland Coachcraft of Govan, Glasgow
In the 1930s a factory in Scotland produced the most beautiful laundry vans in the 1930s. The company was established around 1930 and moved to Gateshead six years later. It went bust in 1940."

"The vans were built on an Albion type-BL119 chassis. Albion trucks were also manufactured in Glasgow. Founded in 1899, Albion Motors was purchased by Leyland Motors in 1951. Vehicles continued to be manufactured under the Albion brand until 1972, after which they continued to be produced, but were sold under the Leyland brand. Vehicle production at the former Albion factory in Scotstoun continued until 1980."

The first flight was made in November 1937 and the Abrams Company flew the airplane, with a full array of cameras, for government contract survey work until the beginning of World War II. The first Wright engine was replaced by a Wright Whirlwind 450 hp engine that raised the maximum speed to more than 200 mph and the performance ceiling to 25,000 feet. It had a rate of climb of 1,500 feet per minute. Unfortunately, Dr. Abrams' plans to produce and sell the airplane to the armed forces and to civilian aerial mapping companies were not successful. His timing was bad for the civilian applications because of the war and the military opted for the more survivable, converted high-speed fighter aircraft for photo reconnaissance. The good performance figures of 1938 were not enough for wartime reconnaissance and a single-purpose aircraft was no longer desirable. As a result, the airplane currently in the possession of the Smithsonian was the only example built.
