If nothing is posted an hour from now Markus, you can start it all off again.

Sorry!?, but I didn't win, revisite the rules.....!:yeah:

It's up the one who has the ball to decide when a riddle has been solved and Aktungbby toke the decision that you Exocet25fr had guessed his riddle.
Now you know it.
As said by Jim
"If nothing is posted an hour from now Markus, you can start it all off again."

Elegant in flight and resembling the later US Chance Vought 'Corsair', only with a too small engine. But then it was 1933 and there would have been better power plants soon ..
Made of stretched metal, all aluminium, monoplane, retractable gear and a closed cockpit. The pedecessor of things to come..
Before she received the canopy..

After she entered a flat spin with extended gear. The pilot bailed out just in time and survived.

With the jet engines added (4 engines??!!:yeah:)to the first prototype, the aircraft was redesignated as the Douglas XB-42A.https://oldmachinepress.files.wordpress.com/2017/08/douglas-xb-42a-rear.jpg?w=625 The 1,600 lbf (7.12 kN) thrust jet engines were mounted under the aircraft’s wings. New flaps were installed that were notched behind the jet engines. In 2010, the XB-42A was transferred to the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. The aircraft, along with second XB-43 prototype, will eventually be restored for static display. https://oldmachinepress.files.wordpress.com/2017/08/douglas-xb-42a-low-pass.jpg?w=625 OVER to Ostfriese!:Kaleun_Salute:

The Leduc 022, a ramjet interceptor with an additional turbojet engine. The first prototype made 141 flights and achieved an astonishing Mach 1.15 in 1957, but the Mirage III was eventually selected in 1958 due to budget constrains. The second prototype can be admired in the French Air and Space Museum near Paris' Le Bourget airport.

Very impressive thinking on their part.
If you compare that to the modern day Glock17 9mm pistol(or my Baretta DAO with 16) with 17 rounds or less. This blast from the past gun is pretty awesome to have and it sure outclass the modern pistol in firepower. There was also a Guycot rifle which holds 80 cartridges.
Compared to their competitors during that era, the Colt revolver (holds 6 cartridges ala my .357 Python) and the Henry rifle (which can only hold 16 cartridges Ala my own in .44), the Guycot pistol and rifle have a huge advantage in capacity. However, they never really caught on

I believe they were like hollow minie bullets; filled with fulminate or quick powder powder similar to those used brutally in the Civil War as with my larger .577 canellured hollow pure lead rounds https://cartridgekits.com/cdn/shop/files/c3ca8b69-ddbc-5d64-a313-54d83f58b163_720x.png?v=1696010059 used by my beloved two-band re-enactment Enfield https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/picture.php?albumid=815&pictureid=12622< these go in the size of a quarter and come out the size of a .50-cent piece ie: in 1860-65 you were either amputated or dead... https://www.civilwarmed.org/surgeons-call/limbs/
Then along came .45 colt a.k.a. The Lord’s Caliber.

^ this is of course the one, 'Cox' Curtiss built for the Gordon Bennett race, but never succeeded depite breaking some speed records. It was ok with the original monoplane wing version, but the untested racing wing to be exchanged in France made it highly unstable.
So a second lower wing was added for stability but it only led to a crash while landing.
