^ Yes!
One russian aircraft engineer Mr. Alexander de Seversky went to the US (just like Sikorsky) after WW1 (where he was a pilot in the Entente and shot down four german planes) and began constructing aircraft with a lot of success; the Seversky Aircraft Company built the first all-metal US fighter plane, with a closed canopy and retractable gear. He also was a colleague of Billy Mitchell..
"By April 1939, the Seversky Aircraft Corporation had lost $550,000, and Seversky was forced out of the company he had founded. The board, led by financier Paul Moore, voted W. Wallace Kellett to replace him as president, and in September 1939 the company was reorganized as the Republic Aviation Corporation."
The Republic company built world war II's P-47 Thunderbolt fighter, the F-84 Thunderjet and F-105 Thunderchief jet fighters, as well as the later A-10 Thunderbolt II close-support aircraft.
Later Fairchild bought Republic during the 1960ies.
The plane in question, the XF or XR depending on its intended role, was the fastest four-engined prop plane ever, almost perfect aerodynamically. Initially designed as a gun platform to accompany american bomber swarms and defend them against german fighters, when the P-51 and (also) Republic(!) Thunderbolt turned out to be better suited for this.
She was then thought to be changed into a fast bomber, a reconnaissance plane, and even a civilian airliner after the war. The upcoming jet planes made it obsolete.
Two Rainbow 'ships' were built, one crashed after developing an engine fire after a fuel leak.
One of the most beautiful planes ever built imho, and FAST. This one with turboprop engines would have been easily faster than the soviet 'Bear'.

Not the Sky Tower but you win because the original question posed was 'Okay then, where is this?' https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2865270&postcount=4033
It is a tower positioned near the entrance to the Port of Kaohsiung.
I can't say for certain the exact purpose of it but I remember the other side of the entrance had a gun emplacement on a hill. I asked the pilot navigating our vessel at the time why and he explained it was for defence against China. This was back in 77 so I should imagine the site will now feature some kind of missile defence.

When I was at Phuket, again in the late 70's it wasn't a holiday resort but a small island area with a tin mine iirc. The one plus at the time was the 'Coka Cola' girls who would be rowed out to the ships supposedly trying to sell you the aforementioned drink but as you can imagine were actually selling themselves.
The going rate back then was a carton of cigarettes which at the time cost £17 :)

Luftwaffe Dornier Do-17 V1 Prototype?

Also called the "Flying pencil" due to its sleek lines.
https://i.imgur.com/uHpzFjzl.jpg
"The photograph above shows the Dornier 17 in its original form when this type was designated as the V1 (Versuchsflugzeug = Test aircaft). As a twin engined aircraft, it had clean and sleek lines that gave it the appearance of a fast aircraft, which was asked it it as a fast six passenger mailplane, and rejected by Lufthansa who's test pilots agreed that it was not suitable for carrying passengers."
Then it is said it was never intended for passenger service, but as a bomber right away.
Not exactly a prototype because a few were built, but the later appearance changed drastically...

It's a plug indeed, but both the plug and the cable connected to the plug are thicker (in diameter) than a spark plug wire or a grounding cable.
HINT: this plug has seven pins, and the pins come in two different sizes. The grounding pin shown above is in the larger of the two sizes.
