Nah! I had already glommed onto a castle-gate with my "London" query. Ostfriese's attn. to the rivet in the corner actually turned the game for me.:salute: I first thought it was the "traitors gate" Thames River entry which I' ve often visited at the Tower of London. Not finding a match there, I then took a long look at Eich's oft-mentioned Tonbridge Castle in Kent; but also found no match. I also looked at Doune Castle where I've often visited(used in Monty Python and the Holy Grail):shucks: I have always referred jokingly to opening my own garage-door(uses electrity:O:) as "raising the portcullis"...even as I 'sallied forth' in kevlar/shock-plated armour to do battle in my security working daze...:arrgh!: I'll have something shortly.

Eichhörnchen

I believe the gatehouse portcullis of Tonbridge castle is long gone - probably nicked

That deepends on how you define 'prey' but yes, it does eat whatever it can catch.

Getting closer Glynn but remember, we are not looking for a mammal and when the Disney clue is realised someone or other could well be kicking themselves.

Basically the VW Kubelwagen redesigned to produce a decoy vehicle which looks like a tank when fitted with dummy tracks. The rotating turret could be fitted with a machine gun. Entry was through a turret roof hatch

If you mean caterpillar type tracks then no

Basically the VW Kubelwagen redesigned to produce a decoy vehicle which looks like a tank when fitted with dummy tracks. :hmmm:...your initial response to my initial query was incorrect! It should been : "occasionally as needed, dummy!":O: which I am:yep: inasmuch as my first thought on viewing your puzzle pic was Kubelwagon which are still available for €40.000; however, the apparent turret perplexed me.:wah:

:hmmm:...your initial response to my initial query was incorrect! It should been : "occasionally as needed, dummy!":O: which I am:yep::wah:

I did consider that you might see these dummy tracks as making it a vehicle "on treads" - but I answered "no" because they were entirely cosmetic attachments and whether on or off, the vehicle continued to run on four wheels
