Ethnic minority Covid death gap closes – ONS

People from ethnic minority backgrounds are no longer significantly more likely to die of Covid-19, new Office for National Statistics (ONS) data shows.

Analysts looked at mortality rates for different ethnic communities between January and November 2022, when Omicron was the dominant Covid variant.

Early in the pandemic, deaths involving coronavirus were higher among black and Asian people than white people.

The highest risk was among Bangladeshi, Black Caribbean and Pakistani groups.

Covid mortality rates for all ethnic minorities decreased last year. The latest data shows there is no significant statistical difference between the number of Covid deaths among ethnic minorities and the white population.

The ONS also said that "all cause" mortality rates - measuring how likely people are to die of any cause, including Covid-19 - have returned to pre-pandemic patterns.

The reasons for this change are complex, and experts say there are "various factors" to consider.

Dr Veena Raleigh, an epidemiologist and senior fellow at The King's Fund, told the BBC that at the start of the pandemic "we knew very little about [Covid-19], how it transmitted, and how to mitigate its spread and impact".

"The virus had its greatest impact on people who were most vulnerable or exposed to the infection - that was older people and people working in frontline jobs, key workers in the NHS, public transport etc. And of course, ethnic minorities are disproportionately working in those roles," she said.

"Initially the virus had a terrible impact in terms of mortality. But over time, we learned more about how this virus transmits. For example, various social measures to control the spread of infection were introduced, like mask-wearing and social distancing. So that helped to moderate ethnic differences.

"And then, of course, the vaccination programme came in. And although vaccination rates are lower in some ethnic minority groups, nonetheless, a significant proportion of the population is vaccinated - or has some immunity because they've been exposed to the virus.

"All of these factors have contributed to reducing ethnic differences in Covid-19 mortality over time."

Mortality rates are also lower in general with Omicron, in contrast to other variants.

A previous study from the ONS, published in the British Medical Journal last June, compared deaths from Omicron BA.1 with another variant, Delta.

It found that the risk of dying from Covid-19 was 66% lower for those who contracted Omicron than it was for patients who contracted Delta.

A spokesperson for the think tank Runnymede told the BBC: "Covid-19 was not just a health crisis; it was also a social and economic crisis.

"Unequal health outcomes are not confined to Covid-19, and longstanding racial and economic inequality is at the heart of understanding the pandemic.

"It is precisely because these inequalities are so systemic and interlinked that, when crisis hit, certain communities were impacted first, the hardest and in multiple ways."

Fake pandemic, not fake disease. I've also had covid and while it kept me in bed for a few days it was nothing compared to some bouts of the flu i've had over the years. I've also had relatives die because of the flu yet nobody is shutting down society in response to it.

Those at Corona who pretend to have known everything better from the beginning should perhaps have simply presented their EVIDENCE. They didn't. Because they had none. They couldn't have, because ignorance prevailed. So most ordinary people, under the influence of the dramatic and tragic reports from Italy, New York and many other places, did the most reasonable and obvious thing: they fell back to previous experiences with pandemics. This is basically reasonable.

In science, we don't follow assertions, we follow evidence. It is the same as in court. We follow the evidence. Wherever it leads in the end. The end in this case is bitter, because we had to learn that the original evidence finding was rigged. That there was lying, obfuscation, and deception. In the end, however, the principle of following the evidence has also led us back to the path of truth. Us, that means most normal everyday people. Governments, various associations and the pharmaceutical industry refuse and hinder the reappraisal until today. At least here in Germany. We are like the Chinese: the party is never wrong. It cannot err at all.

But now to make such silly comparisons and claims as you did just now, well, you don't do yourself any favors with that either. Your comparison is lame, Rockstar, that is just total nonsense, which shows that you have no idea how meltblow tissue is built and what it can do, and what not, and how viruses are transported in the air, namely sticking to dust and moist particles. Lab Leak Most Likely Origin of Covid-19 Pandemic, Energy Department Now Says
U.S. agency’s revised assessment is based on new intelligence

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Energy Department has concluded that the Covid pandemic most likely arose from a laboratory leak, according to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress.

The shift by the Energy Department, which previously was undecided on how the virus emerged, is noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office.

The new report highlights how different parts of the intelligence community have arrived at disparate judgments about the pandemic’s origin. The Energy Department now joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at a Chinese laboratory. Four other agencies, along with a national intelligence panel, still judge that it was likely the result of a natural transmission, and two are undecided.

The Energy Department’s conclusion is the result of new intelligence and is significant because the agency has considerable scientific expertise and oversees a network of U.S. national laboratories, some of which conduct advanced biological research.

The Energy Department made its judgment with “low confidence,” according to people who have read the classified report.

The FBI previously came to the conclusion that the pandemic was likely the result of a lab leak in 2021 with “moderate confidence” and still holds to this view.

The FBI employs a cadre of microbiologists, immunologists and other scientists and is supported by the National Bioforensic Analysis Center, which was established at Fort Detrick, Md., in 2004 to analyze anthrax and other possible biological threats.

U.S. officials declined to give details on the fresh intelligence and analysis that led the Energy Department to change its position. They added that while the Energy Department and the FBI each say an unintended lab leak is most likely, they arrived at those conclusions for different reasons.

The updated document underscores how intelligence officials are still putting together the pieces on how Covid-19 emerged. More than one million Americans have died in the pandemic that began more than three years ago.

The National Intelligence Council, which conducts long-term strategic analysis, and four agencies, which officials declined to identify, still assess with “low confidence” that the virus came about through natural transmission from an infected animal, according to the updated report.

The Central Intelligence Agency and another agency that officials wouldn’t name remain undecided between the lab-leak and natural-transmission theories, the people who have read the classified report said.

Despite the agencies’ differing analyses, the update reaffirmed an existing consensus between them that Covid-19 wasn’t the result of a Chinese biological-weapons program, the people who have read the classified report said.

A senior U.S. intelligence official confirmed that the intelligence community had conducted the update, whose existence hasn’t previously been reported. This official added that it was done in light of new intelligence, further study of academic literature and consultation with experts outside government.

The update, which is less than five pages, wasn’t requested by Congress. But lawmakers, particularly House and Senate Republicans, are pursuing their own investigations into the origins of the pandemic and are pressing the Biden administration and the intelligence community for more information.

Officials didn’t say if an unclassified version of the update would be issued.

U.S. national-security adviser Jake Sullivan declined to confirm or deny the Journal’s reporting in an appearance Sunday on CNN. He said President Biden had repeatedly directed every part of the intelligence community to invest in trying to discern as much as possible about the origins of the pandemic.

“President Biden specifically requested that the national labs, which are part of the Energy Department, be brought into this assessment because he wants to put every tool at use to be able to figure out what happened here,” Mr. Sullivan said.

There are a “variety of views in the intelligence community,” Mr. Sullivan added. “A number of them have said they just don’t have enough information.”

Asked about the Energy Department’s assessment, Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Ala.) said Sunday on NBC that Congress needed to hold extensive hearings concerning the origins of the pandemic, adding that China has sought to intimidate other countries from questioning whether the virus emerged naturally. “This is a country that has no problem coming out and lying to the world,” he said.

The Covid-19 virus first circulated in Wuhan, China, no later than November 2019, according to the U.S. 2021 intelligence report. The pandemic’s origin has been the subject of vigorous, sometimes partisan debate among academics, intelligence experts and lawmakers.

David Relman, a Stanford University microbiologist who has argued for a dispassionate investigation into the pandemic’s beginnings, welcomed word of the updated findings.

“Kudos to those who are willing to set aside their preconceptions and objectively re-examine what we know and don’t know about Covid origins,” said Dr. Relman, who has served on several federal scientific-advisory boards. “My plea is that we not accept an incomplete answer or give up because of political expediency.”

An Energy Department spokesman declined to discuss details of its assessment but wrote in a statement that the agency “continues to support the thorough, careful, and objective work of our intelligence professionals in investigating the origins of COVID-19, as the President directed.”

The FBI declined to comment.

China, which has placed limits on investigations by the World Health Organization, has disputed that the virus could have leaked from one of its labs and has suggested it emerged outside China.

The Chinese government didn’t respond to requests for comment about whether there has been any change in its views on the origins of Covid-19.

Some scientists argue that the virus probably emerged naturally and leapt from an animal to a human, the same pathway for outbreaks of previously unknown pathogens.

Intelligence analysts who have supported that view give weight to “the precedent of past novel infectious disease outbreaks having zoonotic origins,” the flourishing trade in a diverse set of animals that are susceptible to such infections, and their conclusion that Chinese officials didn’t have foreknowledge of the virus, the 2021 report said.

Yet no confirmed animal source for Covid-19 has been identified. The lack of an animal source, and the fact that Wuhan is the center of China’s extensive coronavirus research, has led some scientists and U.S. officials to argue that a lab leak is the best explanation for the pandemic’s beginning.

U.S. State Department cables written in 2018 and internal Chinese documents show that there were persistent concerns about China’s biosafety procedures, which have been cited by proponents of the lab-leak hypothesis.

Wuhan is home to an array of laboratories, many of which were built or expanded as a result of China’s traumatic experience with the initial severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, epidemic beginning in 2002. They include campuses of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, which produces vaccines.

An outbreak at a seafood market in Wuhan had initially been thought to be the source of the virus, but some scientists and Chinese public-health officials now see it as an example of community spread rather than the place where the first human infection occurred, the 2021 intelligence community report said.

In May 2021, President Biden told the intelligence community to step up its efforts to investigate the origins of Covid-19 and directed that the review draw on work by the U.S.’s national laboratories and other agencies. Congress, he said, would be kept informed of that effort.

The October 2021 report said that there was a consensus that Covid-19 wasn’t the result of a Chinese biological-weapons program. But it didn’t settle the debate over whether it resulted from a lab leak or came from an animal, saying that more information was needed from the Chinese authorities.

The U.S. intelligence community is made up of 18 agencies, including offices at the Energy, State and Treasury departments. Eight of them participated in the Covid-origins review, along with the National Intelligence Council.

Before that report, the Energy Department’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory prepared a study in May 2020 concluding that a lab-leak hypothesis was plausible and deserved further investigation.

The debate over whether Covid-19 might have escaped from a laboratory has been fueled by U.S. intelligence that three researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick enough in November 2019 that they sought hospital care.

A House Intelligence Committee report concluded last year that this disclosure didn’t strengthen either the lab-leak or the natural-origin theory as the researchers might have become sick with a seasonal flu. But some former U.S. officials say the sick researchers were involved in coronavirus research.

Lawmakers have sought to find out more about why the FBI assesses a lab leak was likely. In an Aug. 1 letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Sen. Roger Marshall, a Kansas Republican, requested that the FBI share the records of its investigation and asked if the bureau had briefed Mr. Biden on its findings.

In a Nov. 18 letter, FBI Assistant Director Jill Tyson said the agency couldn’t share those details because of Justice Department policy on preserving “the integrity of ongoing investigations.” She referred the senator to Ms. Haines’s office for information on what briefings were arranged for the president.

Reiner Fuellmich is a German lawyer and corona vaccine opponent who turned out to be a fraud.

He belonged to the scene and promised a "trillion Euros lawsuit" against the coercive measures of the government and against some of the high-profile corona scientists in this country, namely the virologist Christian Drosten and the head of the RKI, Lothar Wieler. He asked his followers to pay almost one thosuand Euros in order to be allowed to join a class action suit, which should bring them later then "a rich money blessing", which he wanted to enforce at court for them by his legal fight.

In the meantime, he himself has been charged with fraud and has even been banished by the activists in the anti-vaccine and corona denial scene and was excluded and chased away in disgrace.

I found it quite helpful to read about what my body requires to function. Most of which is not found in processed foods, therefore eating what comes from nature is a priority and understanding what each food contributes is important too. At age 50-60 the skin produces a pre-form of Vit-D with just 25% of its former efficiency when we were young.

The liver sends a preform for the creation of cholesterol to the skin. There its gets BBQued with UV radiation which must have a minimum intensity of UV indices higher than 3. In Germany, the sun has no chance to reach such UV levels at around 7 months per year. Go figure.

Add to it former reduction by clothing, using sun blockers, working all day long in offices or some industrial halls. You can live in a high-sun-level region of Earth - and still not produce enough Vit-D due to your life style.

The skin is ready to produce under optimal conditions a maximum of around 20,000 IE per day. From then on it still does so, but at a dramatically reduced rate. So, here we have a biological limit as wlel as a likely hint to what amounts of Vit-D the body is ready to process, produce or consume per day. Thus I conclude that most likely it makes no sense to take bigger doses than 20,000 IE per day, therefore. (I take 2x 5000 per day).

When the skin has BBQued the pre-form of cholesterol, this turns the molecule into another substance that does not exist long, but by using the body's own warmth further gets altered into the storage form of Vit-D, which is Colecalciferol. It gets accumulated in the fatty tissues of the body, and the more fat cells there are, the longer the saturation process takes and the higher doses of Vit-D intake the person needs. Not before the fat cells of the body are saturated with Colicalceferol it becomes available for the body to be activated (by using Magnesium): turning it into the metabolically active form of Vit-D, which is Calcidiol. Supplementation really should be understood as almost a necessity nowadays. The Medical School of Harvard has included supplementation in its food pyramid, declaring it a mandatory must-do, not all is now good with that pyramid, but this detail they got very right. Even more so since our bad food habits (inflammatory Omega-6 fatty acids consummed in cruel amounts!) make things worse and further reduces our body's reserves in these nutrients.

Modern medicine is great in two things: emergency intervention, and surgery. In both in can do wonders that are unbelievable.

When i started to take high doses of Ubiquinol (reduced coenzyme Q10), I was almost high for some days, two weeks or so, it felt like a mild first phase of getting drunk, like you may feel after having had the first glass of sparkled vine at a party. It could have stayed that way, it felt good. :) The doc of my Mum told her, when she mentioned she was about to start with Q10 too, that this could happen and that she should expect it. Nothing to worry about, it only means the needle on your "energymeter" moves a bit further upowards, which is good.

FBI chief Christopher Wray says China lab leak most likely

FBI Director Christopher Wray has said that the bureau believes Covid-19 most likely originated in a Chinese government-controlled lab.

"The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident," he told Fox News.

It is the first public confirmation of the FBI's classified judgement of how the pandemic virus emerged.

Many scientists point out there is no evidence that it leaked from a lab.

And other US government agencies have drawn differing conclusions to the FBI's.

Some of them have said - but with a low level of certainty - that the virus did not start in a lab but instead jumped from animals to humans.

The White House has said there is no consensus across the US government on the origins.

A joint China-World Health Organization (WHO) investigation in 2021 called the lab leak theory "extremely unlikely".

However, the WHO investigation was deeply criticised and its director-general has since called for a new inquiry, saying: "All hypotheses remain open and require further study."

Mr Wray's comments come a day after the US ambassador to China called for the country to "be more honest" about Covid's origins.

In his interview on Tuesday, Mr Wray said China "has been doing its best to try to thwart and obfuscate" efforts to identify the source of the global pandemic.

He said details of the agency's investigation were classified but the FBI had a team of experts focusing on the dangers of biological threats.

In response, Beijing accused Washington of "political manipulation".

"The conclusions they have reached have no credibility to speak of," said Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning.

Some studies suggest the virus made the leap from animals to humans in Wuhan, China, possibly at the city's seafood and wildlife market.

The market is near a world-leading virus laboratory, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which conducted research into coronaviruses.

A few days ago, the US Department of Energy said it had found the virus was most likely the result of a lab leak in Wuhan but could only reach that conclusion with "low confidence".

In response to that, many scientists who have studied the virus have said there is no new scientific evidence pointing to a lab leak.

A natural origin is still the more likely theory, said Professor David Robertson, head of viral genomics and bioinformatics at University of Glasgow.

"There's been an accumulation of evidence (what we know about the viruses biology, the close variants circulating in bats and locations of early human cases) that firmly points to a natural origin centred on the Huanan market in Wuhan city," he said this week.

On Monday, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that US President Joe Biden supports "a whole-of-government effort" to discover how Covid began.

"We're just not there [at consensus] yet," he said. "If we have something that is ready to be briefed to the American people and the Congress, we will do that."

Absolutely stunning to learn how monumentally we got lied to and got betrayed. Lesson learned for the rets of my life. Had little faith only before all this in government "authority" - not even that rest has remained now.

On the mask issue in Campbell's video its nevertheless worthy to know WHY the masks seem to not work. I never trusted the surgical masks, they are little more than just thin paper, but the PP2 and PP3 masks? They are particle masks, and virusses are thought to not float in the air all by themsleves, but being attached to particles and droplets of sizes that are perfectly caught by the material in PP2 and PP3 masks. Thats where the truist in these masks came form, and what it is based on. If a fish has a diameter of 5 cm and you throw out a net with a mesh size of 2.5 cm, you expect the fish cannot physically pass through it. I can imagine that these masks were not worn correctly, or that infeciton took place by other ways, may it be by carelessly moving the infected fingertip under the masks to scratch an itching, or by contamination of clothing and skin, rmeving the maks, and then tocuing the face, anything like that. And lets face it, many many people in oublic wore their masks absolutely wrong and carkless and sloppy.

I also want an explanaiton why there have been in parts very well done research studies formt he fiorst 12-18 motnhs, namels in the context of airplane cabins, why they back then found SIGNIFICANT reduction in virus distribution amongst passengers if netilation shcemes did not chnage but passngers wore masks. Medcram channel had one or two such studies explained, they were very clear in their conclusion, and conclusive.

It somehow makes no sense to me. I wonde rwhether the conclusions now are based on some so far unidentified meta-statistical effects. In other words: i do not yet trust the conclusions thoroughly. There are still questions that demand answers. In a way the reuslts of this metanalysis makes little sens eonly if taken for itself. It needs further practice-oriented research.

Its s bit like with getting a high correlation. It might be hiugh and very signficant, still that is no evidence for a causal linear link: a high correlation always indicates the need for further research anbd itself only says that ther eis somethign. What it is still needs to be found out.

The Cochrane foudnation said they had done two emtanaqylsis in revcent years with several dozen studies examined, and that their findings were against suich reocmemndaitons given, In a reaction, the recommendation was deleted from the official Recommendations for American Citizens for a healthy life style, which is published by the American ministry of health. The president of the German association of parodontologists in 2016 was quizze doin thse events and said that they also promtie the priorit yise of these little tooth b riushes before the use of dentla floss, and again the Cochrane foundation came up and said they had done meta-analysis on these as well - and again with cracking results showing no relevance of these at all. Back in late 2016 I finished following this story with two dentists telling me they were worried that now people would stop brushing their teeth at all. - Why am I telling this? To illutrate that these kind of meta-analsis done are not the final word on anything, usually, and are a complex and mixed matter that often,m all too often needs further investigation. Every statistical process and methjod is limite din ots ranbge of poissibve putcomes by the methods choosen to run the analysis, and if the anylsis method is such and such, it necessarily excludes from the beginning outcomes that it is not fit to ever generate and express. The Cochrane anylsis, tow of theem, show that we should not and must not use dsntal floss or small interlink tooth brushes. But does that make sense, even more so when the use of tooth picks to remove something sticking between youre teeth also is stasticially found to not be useful?

Elderly and vulnerable to be offered spring Covid booster jab

People aged 75 and over, those in care homes and vulnerable people are to be offered a spring Covid-19 booster jab.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) said it has advised that certain groups of people should be offered the vaccinations, with options including the Pfizer, Moderna, Sanofi/GSK jabs.

People aged 75 and over will be offered a jab, along with care home residents and anyone aged five and over who is immunosuppressed.

People will be offered the vaccine around six months after their previous dose, with NHS England setting out the specific details of the programme at a later date.

The Novavax jab will also be available for use only when alternatives are not considered clinically suitable.

Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself against Covid-19 and the spring booster programme provides an opportunity for those who are at highest risk of severe illness to keep their immunity topped up

GB News host Mark Steyn's Covid vaccine claims broke Ofcom rules

GB News broke broadcasting rules last April when ex-presenter Mark Steyn made "potentially harmful and materially misleading" claims about Covid-19 vaccines, regulator Ofcom has said.

He spoke about "only one conclusion" from official data, about the third jab's "significantly greater risk" of "infection, hospitalisation and death".

Ofcom said that was wrong and "may have resulted in viewers making important decisions about their own health".

GB News said it was "disappointed".

In his show, Steyn referred to data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) to compare people who had received the first two vaccinations with those who had also had a third as a booster.

"His interpretation that there was 'only one conclusion' from this comparison... was misleading because it did not take account of key factors such as the significant differences in age or health of the people in these two groups," Ofcom said.

"The programme also failed to reflect that the UKHSA reports made clear that the raw data should not be used to draw conclusions about vaccine efficacy, due to the biases inherent in the vaccinated and unvaccinated populations."

Ofcom said the group who had been boosted "included far larger numbers of older people", and Steyn failed to take into account "the fact that older people are more likely to die or be hospitalised than younger people".

The regulator said it took into account the "definitive" way the Canadian broadcaster and author presented his conclusion, and the "absence of adequate counterweight or genuine challenge".

Ofcom said broadcasters are "free to transmit programmes which may be considered controversial and challenging, or which question statistics or other evidence produced by governments or other official sources".

"It can clearly be in the public interest to do so," it added. "However, with this editorial freedom comes an obligation to ensure that, when portraying factual matters, audiences are not materially misled."

In response, GB News said its role was "to ask tough questions, point out inconsistencies in government policy, and hold public bodies to account when the facts justify it".

"Mark Steyn's programme did exactly that," its statement added. "We support his right to challenge the status quo by examining the small but evident risks of the third Covid booster.

"As news stories in the last week have highlighted, it was prescient to question whether the government was candid with all the facts. It is an important story in the public interest."

Steyn "drew a reasonable conclusion from the facts", but "drew only one conclusion", GB News continued.

"We accept that the data offered several valid interpretations, and he should have made this clear. Had he done so, the story would have remained within the wide freedoms that Ofcom's Broadcast Code allows."

At the heart of most misinformation that spreads online is a fact or genuine set of figures that has been twisted or taken out of context.

That can lend such misleading claims an air of authority, making them very convincing.

This is what happened here. Mark Steyn took official statistics on illness and deaths in people who received two doses of the Covid vaccine, and compared them with those who received three. But he failed to give context: that far fewer people in the general population took the third booster dose than the first two jabs, and that the third dose was particularly popular with older people - who have a higher risk of dying in any case.

In fact, when the Office for National Statistics adjusted the figures to take into account the number of people, and the age of those who had taken it, it found people who had taken three doses were considerably less likely to die.

It can be easy - and tempting - to cherry-pick real stats in a way that supports what we already believe.

In the present study, we examine some evident chemical-physical criticalities of the preparation, regarding the manifest instability of its qualitative-quantitative composition, as well as its consequent toxicological potential, in this case related to the possible formation of ROS (reactive oxygen species), after intramuscular inoculation, in different biological sites, such as, potentially, kidneys, liver, heart, brain, etc., causing dysfunctions and alterations thereof.

The presence of electrolytes in the preparation and the subsequent dilution phase after thawing and before inoculation raise well-founded concerns about the precarious stability of the resulting suspension and the Polydispersity index of the nanomaterials contained in it, factors that can be hypothesized as the root causes of numerous post-vaccination adverse effects recorded at statistical-epidemiological level. I think I got what I deserved:

1. I did not trust the poharmaceutical industry already before the pandemic, and I got some insight into it from first hand accounts due to somebody who has worked in the industry in switzerland in a quit ehigh posiiton - before she quit, saying she was always acting with one leg in the prison.

2. Then came Corona, and they said it is an emergency, it is new, we do not know, but we must act, vaccination is always good, and BAM!

3. Sounded nreaosnably as an argumentaitonb line, and so I made an eception formt he rule and gave them the benift oif doubt. Always assuming the data would be egnerated andgiven afterwards. You cannot have longterm data if somethign has not been done for a longer term. Bu asfter soem time, you have such data. But they did not show any. WHY??

4. Big-bigger-biggest mistake of mine! Never simply trust. Trust must be rewarded, not given as a gift in advance.

5. Early last year they still did not give any data. Then came the Pfizer documents, release donyl at court order due to the freedom of informaiton act. Then came the finding that ciical values were blackened. Then came the rveelaiton that over a hunbred pages with criticla content were ripoped out and not included. Then came the intebnsificaiton od practiner'S feedback on side effects and increased mortality rates. And now came the TGA apparently-joke-of-a-report.

From Germany I can say that the govenrment systematically hinders and ignores any critical reflection or reappraisal of the devent and the chosen policies. They block it, and socially sanction too critical questioning, by havign people getting thrown out of accoutns of beign boycotted.

My wife (who is vaccinated) recently contracted Covid. Despite being in very close contact with her throughout and not being vaccinated, I never tested positive. Go figure.

She had moderate symptoms including a fever, coughing, headaches and exhaustion. But, thankfully, she's feeling much better now.

To be fair, she got the vaccine back in 2021 and had no additional vaccines or "boosters". But it led us both to wonder what good the vaccine actually does. Especially since I didn't get sick at all. All of this only serves to affirm, in my mind, the idea that the risk of adverse side-effects from the vaccine itself was not worth it for someone who is relatively young and in good health.

For the past several years, people like me have been branded as "anti-vaxxers", conspiracy theorists, just plain idiots or worse. Nothing could be further from the truth*. But I don't want or expect an apology. I just want people to think for themselves. Do your own research. Look at history (this exact same scenario has happened before (https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2771465&postcount=8766) - not too long ago - right here in the U.S.). Ask yourself if what you're being told makes sense - and think about who's saying it. Just because someone has the word "Doctor" before their name, that doesn't make them infallible. And if they're a politician, well ... how many politicians do you actually trust to tell the truth about anything? (Maybe take a closer look at which companies politicians were investing in at the time.)

That's what really surprised me the most about this "pandemic": how quickly so many people fell right in line and unquestioningly lapped up what the media and politicians were dishing out. And how big pharmaceutical companies suddenly went from being some of the most greedy and evil entities on the planet to supposedly being our only benevolent hope. From my point of view, it was as if almost the entire world had their memory 'zapped' like we were in a Men in Black movie. It was surreal, and if I had not seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it was possible. But here we are ... still.


* N.B.: To be clear, there are indeed some people who actually believe that the vaccines are part of some conspiracy to reduce or somehow control the population. I am not one of them. Although, I do believe that the way the government and media handled the situation only encouraged such paranoia.

Im preaching that since years. The power and influence of the pharamceutical industry is so dramatically underestimated. But their reach goes as deep and wide as to massively interfering with the curriculae for medicine students - to make sure doctors of the next egneraiton will sbmissoiveloy serve as the salesmen of pharmceutical "products" that industry wants them to be. This whole system is designed to constantly reinforce itself and to nip in the bud all attempts to counter-control it from the outside by allowing the system itself to have its hands in the game again from beginning on of such control attempts in order to compromise the attempt from the start.


If you play inside the system, accept to play the game by its rules, you have no chance to ever alter it. The same like in politics and political parties.

I may have taken my time to see through the lies about the vaccines and Covid, and ran into a dead end there before realising it and then digging myself out of that hole again, but at least I can claim for my credit: since I started posting on health issues and diets and supplementing I have warned and warned you guys again and again of trusting the pharmaceutical industry blindly, and those doctors who do not care to critically reflect the promoted truths that in the end do not serve your health, but their profits. And this reaches deep into the academic education and the training of students and into the university curriculae.

Add to this that claimed health reasons are also abused now to promote CO2-compliant eating schemes and food habits that may not be as posotive as claimed for your wellbeing but that are planned for you to reduce energy and ressource consummation. Often when we are gettign told something we should do is good for our health, it isn't or that claim is questionable at least, or in truth just serves the ideolgiocaly worldview of somebody else. Yes, there is somethign one could call woke, left-leaning food habits and woke diets.

Look back over the decades and check how many "truths" they once told us about healthy food, has turned out to be wrong, have been revised, altered, taken back! For every recomemndaiton today there seems to have been a time when exactly the oppposite was recommended, butter, eggs, meat, sugar, salt, fat, cereals, Müsli, you name it.

Hey, give the guy a little credit at least he changed his mind as more information was presented. Personally I started out with concerns too because I didn’t know everything either.

But I always thought my healthcare is between me and my physician not some two-bit party official. And if I don’t like the diagnoses I was free to see another doctor to get a second opinion. I smelled a dead rat early on when party officials and the armchair physicians started to make baseless unscientific demands closed down the second opinions of some very qualified medical professionals. That’s not science. Real science is never settled real science never stops questioning.

Hell there still some out their questioning Einstein’s theories. But I’ve never heard anyone trying to ban them from YouTube or a politician getting involved.

Science knows no penultimate, final truth. Only temporary theories. Sometimes they seem to be well founded to live for long time, then they turn into paradigms that influence the way further research questions are being approached - in this way science, in a way, prevents oitself from being ever objective. But even paradigms are no certainties. As Heisenberg (I think) put it: "What we observe is never nature, but nature exposed to our kind of questioning."



Campbell was a believer, he trusted in good faith his government officials. So did I, and many others. We then learned that we got deliberately lied to. Maybe we must admit that we could have known it better, its government and politicians, fat cats and corporate lobbyists whot told us about Covid. But Campbell allowed the ever new emerging information, data, evidence and logical conclusion to lead him where he intially did not expect it would lead. Thats how science works. And it shows integrity. Follow the evidence available so far. Whereever it leads.

I still think that those different vaccines saved a lot of people, much more than there was harm done. That the vaccine has not been properly tested is due to the lack of time and almost hysteria in the first weeks, when the extent of the plague could not be really estimated.
Imagine what would have happened without the vaccines.

Just as an FYI and for some perspective, I got the two primary mnra shots and three boosters.. and I'm still here. :yep::smug: To complicate that, I already had a compromised immune system due to MS, so explain that part. :up: I should have been one of the early patients to go on a ventilator after one of my neighbors came down with COVID and made the one-way trip to the ICU. She was a nice old lady and lived only two doors away.

I once believed and argued like you do. And for many things worked right. But for way too many it does not, and authorities lie and cheat about it. I almost killed my father when i urged him to get the jab. The ambulance crew that picked him at home said that it was happening much much more often than the officual statistics claimed. I do not forgive this massive cheating manouver, and the blocking of data, and blocking of investigating this biggest scandal in medicines history.
