And not to be confused with no comment thread, which was posted last year. The aim, with this thread is to be able to express themselves, with something that does not always belong to "them" regular headlines in the GT.
And it can be as simple things, like your wife/girlfriend, do not have seasoned your food enough, or you do not really have the same opinions on how you think your boss, the company employs you manage the work ... . or someone in your circle of people you know acting like a donkey.
Or that you simply are a bit off balance, and feel that now I have time off, to get some rest.
And that "someone" where you plug has been pain in your PC, or stashed your favorite movie or book.....So practically what is in the life! :DL

Uncles funeral today. He was in the RAF for two and a half years ('67-70), working with electronics (L Tech [air]),to quote from his certificate of service record 'he has received theoretical instructions in advanced electronic principles, air radar, air communications and navigation instruments, and practical training in electronic engineering procedures to the standard required of a RAF technician', he wanted to be a pilot but alas medical conditions prevented that. Following that he worked with BT for a while, but I don't think he ever really found his place in life, which I can understand. Still, he is at peace now.
So, here's a pic of a Harrier for him. :salute:

What? Decided to continue thesis work and get something done. Found out that the only proper source for the information I wanted to find was in Russian. Ended up reading many pages about Nietzsche's thoughts and Maksim Gorky in a language I barely speak. Got two rows of text, one reference note and a major headache.
That's science for you.
Edit: Aw, heck, should read the thread before posting. Condolences for your loss, Oberon.

I'd like to comment on that comment: he's right. You're selling a product to a woman. Real life dating is not a hollywood romance, it's politics. Maneuvers and proposals, lies, altered truth and more lies. She won't be sincere with you. They all say they look for someone that has a sense of humor, but thats a trap. Guys with humor end up with lot of friends and no sex. Humor is to sweaten the deal, after the green light was given.

Lift with your knees, not your back?
Good advice to follow regardless of gender. The lower back can really take a beating from heavy lifting.
Regarding Heavy Lifting:
If I were a rocket scientist I would devise a very small solid fuel booster stage to help me initiate the lift. And I would have someone on hand to call the fire department when the booster goes haywire and sets the house on fire. :yep:
Failing that I would probably just rent a forklift. The question then is: how much of the wall around the door would I need to cut out so that I can get the forklift into the living room? :hmmm:

Here's something I found out today.
Copyrights: If I copy a article the full article with the link to the article and post it in forums it still goes against copyrights. I done it this way for years always placing the link at the bottom thinking I'm doing it right and never had a problem with it, I even do it here in subsim - well I wont for now on since finding out - and never had a warning about it. The other day I got a first warning from a site over here. So I asked the admin to explain:
Placing the first paragraph only then the link to the original is okay.
Placing the full post and a link to the original is still going against copyrights.
Did anyone else know this or am I the only fool:doh:

I still don't know why my whole body would move in rhythm back and forth gently when I sit on the floor crossed leg and maintain natural posture.
I felt the same thing too once while kneeling down. The whole body would swing back and forth in rhythm slowly. Sometimes I think I feel it even when sitting down on the chair though I think that's only because I was just feeling it too much.
I can always stop it at will so it's not a big bother but still it's kind of funny.:hmmm:

I neither feel good nor bad about it. The troubling thing is I'm NOT doing it. I'm not doing anything to make it move. The only thing I do is to relax and let go and it will swing back and forth from the feet up. It just moves naturally. I think the word is oscillate.

So you are a natural oscillator Castout. I think I know what you mean though, I think it's due to the bodys natural rhythm- combined with a little bit of what Vendor says below.
I've noticed it happening to me when I've been standing up before, several times, mostly on the way back from the pub.

Couple weeks ago I fell asleep early and woke up not sure what time but before midnight and when I just opened my eyes I got a strong impression of the following sentence "Hey his light is still up" with a person grinning impression. I think the person who thought of that was a she and she was saying that in her mind as she took a glimpse of my bedroom window from outside. But I was too lazy to take a peek to check who was outside then.
It was my first time sensing another person thoughts or at least that is what I believe. I'm pretty certain. It was probably a neighbor or a relative dropping off my brother in law. Sometimes but almost never now I feel what other people feeling, literally but never knew what it would feel like knowing thoughts. Now I know. It was not a voice it was just a strong impression like just simply knowing. I'm lacking the words to describe it. What I know is sensing other people is a lot clearer than even being aware of your own feelings and thoughts.
Like all similar things I didn't know how that happened or even why? I certainly don't have any ability to mind read people. I don't care if people think I'm nuts. I just wish to bring into awareness of such possibilities to exist.

Finger-four is the Jag formation, the Harriers are in Left Echelon. :damn:
it's time for some bitching...
What I hear every day is: students cheat, students don't care, students don't respect their university teachers, students come to universities only to get a degree.
This semester we had a lecture. Thursday evenings, last classes, the attendance was not checked (as lectures are voluntary). The grade was supposed to be based on one final test at the last lecture.
I didn't miss any. I took these f...notes. I wasted 1,5 hour every bloody week.
During the last lecture the guy said: I don't want to see anybody bothering my ass in June so everyone who will come and write his name will get 3. (the lowest passing grade).(scale is:2-3-4-5).
Just before the test the teacher said: I prepared 20 questions, 5 of them are very hard because I give a "3" to everyone who came here.
Obviously he totally messed up the whole f...scale.
Today we got the results. 40% was enough to get a 4 but 80% was needed for a 5.
You can imagine how did the grades divide. Smth like 10% got a 3, 80% got a 4 and 10% a 5.
A Gaussian function in practice...
Ofc I got 4....:yeah:
Thanks for the pics guys and the well wishes, you guys are the best. :yep::salute:

I think you're wrong. When they peel off the do so from one end or the other. The Missing Man involves all four planes, with number three breaking up and out just before reaching the designated point. That picture looks like a Missing Man right at the breakout point.
Unless you were referring to the second picture with the Harriers, in which case I think you're right. His question was posted with the first picture, though.

1. has redhair
2. looks beautiful
3. DO NOT HAVE RING! (or she is genius in camouflage)
Did I mention she looks beautiful?
Time to gather all courage and ask her out on date!

I've realized everywhere is pretty much the same.
Whether you're in the USA, Britain, French or other parts of Europe or even Israel or Korea. There are just some bad people everywhere.
At least here I have a family and people I know and I have no problem communicating in perfect Indonesian. Here I'm the one raising my eyebrows whenever a Caucasian person started speaking in Indonesian with a funny accent thinking "God, that's awful".

Don't be sad such people died, be glad that such people lived.
I buried my grandfather last year, doctors neglegance to top it of. There's a tradition in my parts, that your grandfather is the one that teaches you tips and tricks in life. I was no exeption. Tough to loose someone that taught you fishing, camping, grilling, using a knife, orienting in the woods, finding edible berries, mushrooms and herbs, extracting honey from a hive (never again), catching a rabbit, cleaning a rabbit, preparing a rabbit, cleaning a fish, preserving a fish, self defence against dogs.... But hey, that's how it goes and that's how we will go
If you're old and lived a life with respect and dignity, and leave this part of the world, there is, somewhere a natural time that people go away, but I have seen, not too long ago, and only a few days, ago and today can not describe with words, spoken here is not about people who lived a good life and stuff, but in a completely different situation, which must be experienced in its entirety,:nope:

It's rather simple. What we saw in Frau's post was a perfect example of a woman's logic with it's complex association as well as the inherent trait of automatically labeling you as an idiot if you don't get it.
Whereas the proper male logic pattern would have been:
Mothballs: "Osama Bin Laden is still dead"
Hottentot: "I like sex."

as well as the inherent trait of automatically labeling you as an idiot if you don't get it.
except I didn't do this part. I knew when I posted it that the chances of anyone else picking up on the similarity of the preceding post to the old SNL Franco bit and then "hearing" a Subsim version of Chico Escuela in my post were essentially nil, other than maybe Mothballs might pick up on it if in fact he had the Franco bit in mind when he posted AND knew where it came from AND remembered other running gags from Weekend Update before it sucked. :D
In short it was posted primarily for my own amusement and therefore had to be explained, even to Sailor Steve, and therefore was not nearly as funny or as obvious even to an American Of A Certain Age as I thought it might be.

Mothballs: "Osama Bin Laden is still dead"

Ah, so it wasn't faux Italian, it was faux Spanish, or at least Spanglish or at least fraux Spanglishese. I never mentioned the Franco connection because I figured that was what he was going for. The Garrett Morris bit I just didn't remember. I saw every episode of that first season, but seem to have forgotten most of it. In fact the only Garrett Morris sketch I remember was the one where he pushes his way into the FBI office (manned by Dan Ackroyd) and demands to see everything they have on him. Ackroyd spends several minutes convincing him they've never even heard of him and don't care, then after he leaves hits the intercom button and says "Get me everything you can find on a Garrett Morris!"

Actually a good friend of mine I'd known for 18 years died last week of leukaemia (AML) and I can't get to her funeral tomorrow (Inverness :damn:).
Not only that but also the week before last one of my daughter's friends (aged 2) was also diagnosed with it (ALL). His GP is being investigated after turning him away several times saying that because he had an appointment booked with a paediatrician (even now it's still two weeks away!) and there was nothing he could do. A midwife friend advised them to go straight to A&E and not leave until a blood test was done, within 30 mins was getting rushed to specialist unit at a hospital about 70 miles away. Once a blood transfusion was done he'd immediately perked up and is now improving all the time.
Now that I've depressed and cheered this thread up, can I ask all who can to donate blood, it's 30 minutes out of your day-to-day life and 10 seconds of slight discomfort, but to someone else it could mean their life!

She was a great laugh but took her job seriously, she enjoyed most of what we did as a job. Her husband, Rick - in the pics, I really feel for. He's left to pick up the pieces but is relieved she is no longer suffering. Through it all he's been her rock, and kept his sense of humour and they shared the same outlook in life.
Bright colours requested at the funeral. And I'm sure a lot of cider will be drunk - not your usual Scots tipple but Joyce's favourite. :woot:

This past weekend I rented a 30 cubic yard dumpster and cleaned out my garage and the old kids room. For the first time in 10 years I actually parked my car in my garage.
Wow, it is like this storage room was made to park cars in. Nice big door. I though it was to make it easier to move crap in to it. You can actually drive a car through the big doorway. :o And then there is this flat concrete floor. I had forgotten how pretty and white that concrete floor was when I first moved in.
And the kids old room? It had carpeting! Who knew?
It was a pretty good weekend.
I'm proud of you! Thank you, those words make my day, :salute:
This past weekend I rented a 30 cubic yard dumpster and cleaned out my garage and the old kids room. For the first time in 10 years I actually parked my car in my garage.

Um, well, actually it was. Frau and I shared a small in-joke and Vendor was the one person I thought we'd have to explain it to, but he caught the reference, and I was impressed. :sunny:

No, but things do get lost in translation sometimes, and more than once Americans have shared an in-joke that you didn't get, so...:sunny:
You and someone else is Sweden could easily do the same thing and I'd likely be totally lost, so no insult was intended.

No, but things do get lost in translation sometimes,No you are incorrect. "Things" = material objects, Translation? Words do not get "lost" but misunderstood when spoken, written, typed, etc within diffrent locus, to wit - area, nation, country. Also the use of the words by the individual, old style past, modern present day, proper, slang, etc. Yes these can be lost when written/typed ie lost manuscript, paper, disc, but cannot be lost in translation, just misunderstood like this post. :timeout:

I think he has no notion of what things are, maybe a new dictionary can go on the list for Santa to bring him
