I can tell you that I'm not the type of person who "jumps ".... and the question is whether you can drive fast....:03: approx 250 km / h, without the strain on long...:hmm2:

Back in 1999, the governor of Texas, a certain George 'Dubb-ya' Bush, told a Slovakian journalist that "the only thing I know about Slovakia is what I learned firsthand from your foreign minister, who came to Texas. I had a great meeting with him. It's an exciting country." Unfortunately, Mr. Bush had never met with any representative of Slovakia, rather the SLOVENIAN Prime Minister of the time, Janez Drnovsek!

However it feels good not to be the only dummy :know:

The nice people who wrote the article give me at least some excuses - I claim them all:

Both countries became EU members in 2004.

Both countries became independent in the early 90s from larger Communist nations.

Both countries have Karst regions.

Both countries have officially-recognized Hungarian minorities.

Both countries border Austria.

Both countries have white-blue-red flags.

Both countries have shield-shaped coats of arms in the top-left of their flag.

Both of the above-mentioned coats of arms feature mountains with 3 peaks.

Both countries were once a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

A female resident of both countries is a 'Slovenka' in her native tongue.

The adjective form in both countries, in their respecitve languages is 'Slovensk..'

This previous fact means that you'll find Slovenska. Televizia in Slovakia, and Slovenske Zeleznice in Slovenia. Although both would be possible the other way around!

Reminds me of a joke:

The Slovenes were insulted by the Americans, so they bombed New York. The US president said we will bomb Slovenia until they beg for mercy. So they send in their bombers and bomb all day, nothing, not a word from Ljubljana. So the next day they send in all their missiles, still nothing. On the third day they start dropping nukes, not a word. The president calls his generals to ask them whats going on. No one knows. All of a sudden the secretary of state comes in and says: ''mr. president, a strange thing, Slovaks have been beging us for mercy for three days now for no apparent reason''

George Bush is being giving his daily briefing. He is told that yesterday three Brazilian soldiers were killed.

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sit stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally he looks up with a devastated expression on his face and he asks, "How many is a brazillion?'

Went to see "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" last night, and it didn't suck.

Wasn't as good as the original which scared me witless as a kid, but it was a decent popcorn muncher and sure beat the heck out of the "Vampire Flavor of the Month" flicks which make up most of the horror genre today.

It did get less scary once the monsters were fully revealed, but at least they weren't cupie dolls like the original.

Children, uncle Hottentot is now going to tell you today's pearl of wisdom that will help you along in life.

This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puukko), this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sewing_needle), these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pincer_%28tool%29) and these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scissors) are not proper surgical tools that you should use to tend a wound in hopes of avoiding a trip to nearest hospital. Also, no matter the amount, this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vodka) is not proper anaesthetic and does not improve your hand-to-eye coordination in this operation.

Remember, children: pain in large dosages is not pleasant and your better half will complain about the difficulty of getting blood washed away from bed sheets.

That is all.

I shall keep that in mind next time I play home surgeon. This time I resorted to anaesthetic by swearing: if it hurts, you stick further and mumble litany of traditional curses as long as it takes for the pain to end.

Worked for as long as needed. And not a moment further.

Well depending on how you get here Leeds is ~70 miles (112 km) away. If you get the ferry from Rotterdam/Zebrugge to Hull it's only #25 miles (40 km).

If you can make a 2000 km journey I don't see why some UK members (and even some of our continental cousins) can't make a lesser journey.

Not much initially: a toenail growing inside. The problem is that I noticed it a little late and suddenly had a nice blob of tissue where there was not supposed to be one.

I was an apprentice fitter learning a trade for four years in a shipyard on the Tyne then upon qualifying I joined a shipping company as an engineering officer.

I have also worked for an American company called Grove based in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania assembling and testing mobile cranes/access platforms/all terrain vehicles at one of there former plants in Pallion, Sunderland.

I am 54 years of age and have worked since the age of 16 so there are a couple more positions I have filled during my working career.

Funny, I'm just the opposite. Between research, music and just amusing myself, my time is full. In fact, when I was working I wished I could have the time to do all the things I wanted. Now I do. On the other hand, I may have to find a part-time job just to make more money. The bad side to that is, anything I earn up to the pension amount will just be taken away from the pension itself, so I'd have to work full-time just to make the extra.

Hmm .... my lord as such, that kind of travel I do not, but I understand the image, even if it was "very" easily understood, and smoothed out, who wants to stay at a charter hotel with Germans who have rubber legs around the clock, the may become Hilton or otherwise .... to get some silence, thanks :DL

Well, poster now at the printers, they've assured me it'll be ready this time tomorrow, so deadline met :woot: :smug:

All I need to do then is borrow a work's car and take it to my bosses house for him to pin on his wall, and the other copy for my office wall. :D

No I can go back to slacking :arrgh!:

do we get to see?

I'll take a pic when it's on the wall, but you must understand it's a schematic for sending EDI XML messages from UK to Norway and not the most exciting thing in the world - it's use is for the developer to quickly glance and see what's where when coding. (Programming code, not playing COD, although he does work from home and so may be...)

I've it's predecessor behind me, I'll take a pic of that for now so you can see how exciting it is - once my phones rebooted... :damn:

We've done this, for the UK end, just two of us (very much mostly my boss!), it took only a few months once we'd agreed(ish) with Norway about the format, and that's on top of doing our normal work, our cousins in NL have no in-house dev and have paid an external company a very large sum of Euros to do the same - and theirs still doesn't work. :D

Our (big) boss was also told that we were the ones delaying this project and that places like NL and Sweden were already doing it, when in reality NL are close and Sweden haven't even started, and delays were waiting for Norwegians to pull their fingers out and decide on the correct format - which we amended and they preferred! :damn:

Fairey Gannet
Back in 1990 a friend of mine got a call from another friend who worked in the museum at Hill Air Force Base. They had an extensive model collection and all the label cards had gotten mixed up. They wanted to know if we could sort them out and put them with the proper models. Between the two of us we managed to get it all sorted, and used a small marker pen to write the names under the wing of each model in case it should happen again. We did all this off the top of our heads, and there was only one we had to go home and look up.

You know which one, of course. :D

What's confusing you? Ask, and I'll try to explain.

I am confused by the fact, that museum workers let label cards get mixed up, but accidents happen, of course.

I am somewhat confused that they didn't know what each model was supposed to represent, though I understand there might have been loads of them.

I am heavily confused by the fact, that they hadn't marked them by a catalogue reference number like is usually done with museum objects.

And finally I am just confused that they didn't fix the problem on their own.

Not trying to sound insulting, but as someone studying museology as a minor subject, someone who has worked in a museum and someone who intends to one day become a professional on the field, I'm just confused by how wrong that all sounded.

Ooo, they even have pilots in them. :DL

I have a radio controlled Bf-109, about 1m long, bought ages ago. It's otherwise a very cool plane and flies well too, but the only thing that puzzles me is the happily grinning Japanese man sitting in the cockpit.
