Let me see if I can be of some assistance.

In spoken English, Patrick Fitzwilliam = "Patrick fits William"

and William Fitzpatrick = "William fits Patrick"

I will leave it to you to consider which part of each individual fits which part of the other individual. :O:

2001 I think, Bruggan had just been handed over to the Army the week before and we were the only RAF guys there (apart from one dental assistant - personnel section really screwed her posting up!), some of the lads had been there before so knew about Rosenmontag and that everyone would be in fancy-dress, apart from the squaddies that had arrived recently. So we were pretty much the only Brits fitting in with the locals. Wore the same all weekend and loved it, loved the locals - inc the Turks who drove us home! :D

Had one hell of a day yesterday. Went mountaineering yesterday with a friend of mine. Almost lost her when my car doors suddenly opened by themsleves at a roundabout. Then as we were driving up the valley we saw two guys dresssed as soldiers carrying teletubie dolls. Don't ask what was I smoking, turns out they were two of my friends pulling a prank on us. Had a nice walk and climb to the top that's at 2060m above sea level, the wiew was amazing. Until at the very top, a bumblebee stung me. Almost threw up on the way down as I got a little reaction to the toxin. And then 200m before the car we were caught into one violent heat storm.

Oh, and Herr-Berbunch thinks I was drunk like hell yesterday, which I wasn't

My comment of the weekend:
It feels awkward to show your parents-in-law your bedroom :"See, this is where I do the perverted things with your daughter which you never dreamt of."

Her folks came over to check out our new apartment on Saturday. It was OK, but they are exhausting, as they are a little crazy - two old Hippies... :DL
Her mom still thinks I'm not good enough, her father likes me muy mucho - exactly the opposite of all my former relationships.

For some people that is a myth.

I am a cold weather person. I have spent many years living in hot climates and I have never "gotten used to it".

I don't think everyone can acclimate to all temperatures. Some can and they are lucky. But there are people like me who even after living in North Virginia for 17 years still can't acclimate to the heat and humidity.

It sucks. I wish I could acclimate. I truly do.

Finally a little colder, ok I could not complain much, we had the coldest July here since 10 years. The strange thing is the older I become, the less I can stand heat - I thought it was the other way round, that older people tend to feel chilly very quickly.

Incoming thunderstorms - well, the worst time. Tomorrow I want to have a trip into the woods with a friend. Won't work well with lighting... and wet wood and too good for a campfire...
Damned! :x And this is one of the few times he is able to get away from his wife, aka The Witch***8482;

Reminds me way back in life when my dad would 'help' me purchase my cars....always went for the leather seat variety because they were considered cool by us younger generation at the time.

One day we had a rare 'hotty' and I'll always remember jumping into the drivers seat with a pair of shorts on but no t-shirt.

I guess I'm too stupid to get out of jury duty. *sigh*

Jury duty by day, working at night. Sleeping somewhere in between. Gonna be a long week.

Good work! The colors fit very well. Reminds me of the WW2 comic series from the 70s/80s by Pierre Dupuis. That's the only picture I found online, but you get the impression:

In the books the colors look more washed out, like in the pic you altered.

Sadly they were never translated into English afaik, however they are available in French, German and Swedish.
Here's a link to the swedish ones:

However they did not translate all comics into other languages, for example the one about the resistance you see in the link above, was never published in Germany.
They also have one about U-boote in French only: http://www.amazon.fr/U-Boote-Seconde-Guerre-mondiale/dp/2205027816 - I hope the frogs will reprint it some day...

In Krautland were 8 albums published - got all of them :smug:. Maybe they are a good idea to check out as you want to learn German and are interested in WW2.

Guilty - hang the lot of them! Apart from the good looking lady, she's obviously innocent. :o

Thanks. In case you're interested, it took me just 15 minutes with Recolored (http://www.recolored.com/). The original black&white picture had a very high contrast, so I had to lower it and make it little darker with Irfanview so the colors stood out, but otherwise it's completely done with that.

Lovely program.

Maybe they are a good idea to check out as you want to learn German and are interested in WW2.Can't be worse than augmenting my learning of Russian by listening to music and watching TV and movies. I'll have to keep that in mind if they'll accept me to that "German for simpletons" course on the beginning of next semester. :DL

Edit: by the way, the scenery pictures I talked about yesterday have now been posted to the photography thread, in case you want to see some shots from Tampere.

Come to think of it, it's actually very fitting description. Especially during the hockey world championship matches.

Good luck with that!
I had the impression that employers in The US were obligated to give you days off when you have jury duty - or is this only when it competes with the work hours?

Depends on the company. Some, like mine are great and I get paid for jury duty. Other companies are not so good.

My boss just writes a letter saying that I can't possibly be spared. :smug:

Lol, it helps that we're a really small company.
