Hit, on target, bullseye, bang on the money
'spot on' (...)
the context of it
"Hit" or "Target"
"Fire for effect", which means, "That's good. Concentrate all your fire right where that last one was."

thanks for all the replies. I was looking for something formal rather than informal, something that would appear in a written or spoken report; so I guess "fire for effect" is the closest to what I need.

Absolutely amazing! I loved the comment that, being five years old at the time and not really understanding what had happened, Mr. Seymour's biggest concern was for the poor man who fell out of the balcony!

A few years back I saw a newer version of the show, and the guest on the episode I saw owned the shirt Clyde Barrow was wearing when he was shot to death by government agents.

Somwething I can't say about the country. About 50 000 people lost power yesterday due to falling trees, most of the streams have flooded, nothing terrible, just some flooded basements.

Every year its the same. An alpine nation gets its first snow and everything just falls apart like it's a blizzard in Mexico.

My house is halfway up a steep hill, forested enough to prevent landslides, high enough to prevent flooding and still rocky enough to avoid raging torrents. The mountain behind that hill stops any strong winds and diverts stronger storms. My village is THE safest place in the country.

Were celebrating reformation day here. The works of Martin Luther and the protestant influence brought a small slavic people a sense of nationalism and unique culture. His actions in Wittenberg led to the first Slovene book being printed in 1550 and since then Slovene can be described as a nation.

Politically and religiously the reformation failed in these lands, but culturaly it set new rules.

So, my thanks to the Germans :salute:

I got a 10th U-Flotilla pin from a guy from the US and A while we were playing Command Aces of the Deep via a mailing list called ubootwaffe sth like 10 years ago. The guy's name was Andrew, from New Rochelle (that's what the envelop says). He was kind enough to send a whole envelope of these pins and everyone got a dog-tag with his name on it.
I also remember that guy called Todd Ri...sth (sorry, forgot his name). He had a shop or sth and he even played with us earlier, when we had only Aces of the Deep.

Nowhere near Sandy though and structural damage is minimal. Buildings are (for now) built so they can withstand a huricane. Also no casulaties. After the floods last week killed three, the population became a bit more carefull.

I'm safe, 100m above any major streams, no possible torrents nearby, landslide chance zero

After a lot of convincing I said to him: you know how everyone says the area is haunted ??

Is it wrong to Superglue a crown back in to your own mouth?

It's still in 12 hours later. :yeah:
Reminds me of the time years ago when I tried to break out some dried superglue from a bottle. I had a model in one hand and the glue in the other, and rather than put the model down and use a knife, I tried to bite it out with my teeth. I squeezed the bottle and shot some glue into my mouth. Not wanting it to seal my mouth shut I opened wide and was pacing around the apartment breathing through my mouth, trying to dry it.

My poor wife asked if I was having a heart attack. :dead:

Well it's still not fallen out again. I obviously used too much glue as when I pushed it back on to the stump I got a really horrible taste of glue on my tongue, lips and the back of the crown. Pah, tasted bad. Taste has gone now though.

I've got a hammer, chisel, drill, superglue, all I need is a chair that leans right back and I've got my own dental surgery. Say 'Ahh'! :D

I'm okay today, I was too poorly to play anything yesterday but now I know the cause. When I cycle a long-ish distance I usually have an electrolyte drink, after a couple of hours vigarous exercise with just watered-down OJ I had an electrolyte imbalance. Never again will I fall for that one.
