This song, Only the young, was written by Jonathan Cain, Neal Schon and Steve Perry of Journey and then given to Patty Smyth of Scandal, who recorded it. Journey later recorded it themselves which of course, did not make Patty Smyth happy. You decide which version you like better. I for one never liked the guitar work in the Scandal version other than the main chorus.

Peter Thomas "did" the soundtrack for "Chariots of the Gods" too. Beautiful soaring music.

Perry Rhodan books are quite the phenomenon. Started by a team of writers in the 60s and still being regularly published today !!!!!.

I think they're over 3000 books to date and still going. I "discovered" them in the late 70s and read some out of sequence, and am currently ploughing through the online English translations - up to 92 and still going and loving them.

They're big in Europe ( non Brexit :) ) but massive in Germany, with a lot of diehard fans in a few other countries.

The movie "Mission Stardust" 1967 ? was panned by critics but it wasn't bad for the time and Thora was very nicely cast :up:.

I like Joe Jackson. Joe does his own thing and marches to the beat of his own drum. This song Right and Wrong speaks to political upheaveaval back in the Reagan Era. Joe was into the music of Cab Calloway and Louis Jordan, so he called his drummer friend, Larry Tolfree, who was a Buddy Rich and big-band fanatic, and hired three horns and a keyboardist. With this lineup, Joe went to work.

Pure genius putting the bass and drums in the forefront with a sultry and seductive bass line and simple and clean arrangement and interweave of the drumming with the Bass line.

The first real rock concert I went to was Ian Hunter and Mick opening for Blue Oyster Cult at a hockey arena in Presque Isle, Maine.
Go ahead and look it up, Presque Isle is not exactly Las Vegas or LA. :haha:

B.O.C. mostly phoned it in. Ian and Mick.. didn't. While their set was shorter, this was basically the same show I saw. I knew Ian was from Mott and Mick was one of Bowie's Martian spiders but I had no clue just how great Mick Ronson was until that night. :yeah:
Mick could blow the roof off the building at will yet he made it look so effortless. :yeah: Ian actually got booed by the townies during Cleveland Rocks. :haha:
We had a local idiom in northern Maine. Where most folks would say that something sucked or something was bogus, we said "It rots".
Ian didn't know this. :haha: So, being the showman he was, he naturally sang "Presque Isle Rocks" during the second chorus. The crowd heard "Presque Isle Rots" and started to boo. Even with the thick sunglasses, you could see Ian doing one of these- :o

I always like seeing amateur musicians and their interpretations of classic songs. I came across Zoe Mcmillian doing the drumming with Subdivisions by Rush. Neal Peart was a great drummer and Zoe does a pretty decent job of approximating the drumming originally done by Neal. Zoe does need to get rid of the Sabian crash cymbal as it is all wrong. Zildjian Cymbals would be a better choice.



Do try to watch her drumming and not anything else.:03: Zoe would be a great asset with an amateur band or has great assets. Something like that anyhow. :D In all seriousness, I think Zoe does a credible job on the stick work here.
