Great post with David Gilmour and Bowie, Jim. I didn't know they performed that signature song, comfortably numb, together. :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:
Another great collaboration with the late David Bowie and Freddie Mercury-Under Pressure. Live at Wembley Stadium.

U2-In the name of love.

A few month ago I got this song on my brain...well a little part of it. Kept on singing(in my head) Sometimes...I had the melody I had not the singer/group who had made it.
Made a music search for song with the title Sometimes. It was none of these.
Frustrated not finding the song I wanted to know about.
Later while I was doing something else-Not thinking about this song...It came to me as a lightning from a clear sky:
Here it is

It was 2007 when Boston lead vocalist Brad Delp was discovered dead. It has been 15 years and Brad's senseless loss is still being felt. Brad had an incredible vocal range that helped propel Boston in the music charts. Brad's buttery smooth vocals were instantly Identifiable and Brad is easily one of the greatest rock vocalists to ever put a voice to vinyl or a CD.

Well, I don't think that is a very useful interpretation of the man. The things she's saying may be true but seem to mostly focus on negative things without any understanding of "the why." I don't get any sense of his greatest, he was progressive and revolutionary-minded, cared about humanity and wrote great music not for kings or religion but for the common man that still holds power today.
I'd suggest checking out his mini-bio and the movie that's in the song is pretty good to, "Immortal Beloved."

Drummer extraordinaire, pianist and vocalist Phil Collins has been on limited tours with Genesis. It's hard to imagine a more influential musician or artist than Phil Collins. Sadly, because of health Issues, Phil has reported he can no longer even hold drum sticks anymore. In concerts, Phil sits down in a chair and sings from a seated position.
Joining Phil Collins and Genesis in this video is guitarist Daryl Sturrmer and drummer Chester " Bone Crusher " Thompson. Phil takes his turn at the drums along with Chester.
Phil Collins in better days.

Yeah, I guess that's the kind of stuff you get from wars these days. Also seems popular in the middle east with always "too loud" religious music and lots of graphics and even special effects. I'm sure it's effective and good for morale.
All over Youtube people seem to be enjoying watching and commenting on videos like this of Russian losses and soldiers being captured or killed. To me it seems like they think it's a way larger sign the Russians are going to be defeated than it is. If you look at past wars like in Chechnya streets full of burnt-out armored vehicles and tanks isn't that unusual, maybe just from a bigger war. I'd only think the Russians have been there and they will be back.
Check out this insanity. It was made by the military before the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Azerbaijan drones that won the war are in the trucks behind the band. I think I remember it was part of the build-up to or even actual call for the war with Armenia.

^ I'm getting the feeling you might like Layla a little bit. :)
Layla Is a masterpiece. The late Duane Allman and Eric Clapton created this timeless classic. The guitar riff was based on one Albert King played on his song "As The Years Go Passing By," but the overall tempo was speed-ed up.
Fun fact : The drummer with Derek and the Dominoes was Jim Gordon. Jim's girlfriend at the time, Rita Coolidge, is said to have written the Piano piece in Layla. It came from a track called " Time " ( Don't get in our way ) A tape was left with Eric Clapton in the hopes it might be recorded. A year later, Rita was infuriated to hear that her piano piece had been tacked on to the end of Layla.

" In it, the late Wendy Hughes is an officer and also a pianist. She and Capt. Picard play a Flute and Piano accompaniment together. I thought these pieces were beautiful. I included the clip from Star Trek and also the full arrangement. It is from Jay Chattaway and is entitled- The Inner Light. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Great musical video, Catfish.
I have posted a bit of classical music as I heard that quite a bit as a child at home. Perhaps in these troubled times we are in, Classical music brings back memories for me of a simpler time. My mum had marble statuettes of Bach and Beethoven on her piano. She would play all the classics. As a child, I remember pronouncing Chopin as Chop'in as one would do with firewood. :yep: She would just laugh. She has eclectic tastes as she loved rock and roll as well. As a result of her influences, I took an interest in playing musical instruments early on. I have been taking a bit of a break from rock music.
I also liked Russian composer and pianist Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff.
Quote: Rachmaninoff is widely considered one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, one of the last great representatives of Romanticism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romantic_music) in Russian classical music (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_classical_music).

The Rachmaninoff Rhapsody-A theme of Paganini remains a favorite. The song was featured in the movie, Somewhere in Time. Niccolò Paganini was an Italian violinist and composer. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique, born in 1782.
