From the last album from 2017/18, "Almost Persuaded". Being a fan of SOS since the late 80s when they popped into existence, I learned about this latest album of theirs just a few weeks ago. The quality of their albums varied over the years a bit, with "Somewhere Deep In The Night" and "Where Our Love Grows" imo being their two best albums and by a huge lead, but being already 19 and 16 years ago. This latets album links up to that quality again, its not as good as the mentioned two, but holds its ground in the SOS universe and I learned to like it pretty much on first listening already, it connects back with some of the best in what made SOS such a success story, but adding some more laid-back relaxation to it. Solid, good, recommendable, and for SOS fans a must. My number three favourite of their albums.

Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven copyright battle is finally over.

The band were sued for copyright in 2014 over claims they had stolen the song's opening riff from Taurus, by a US band called Spirit.

Led Zeppelin won the case in 2016, but it was revived on appeal in 2018.

A court of appeals upheld the original verdict earlier this year. Now, the US Supreme Court has declined to hear the case, definitively ending it.

Stairway To Heaven regularly appears on lists of the greatest rock songs ever written, and the case has been one of the music industry's most closely-watched disputes.

And us kids grew up with Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, etc. Black and White makes for a better film...a sense of abstraction maybe???

"Breath" -Breaking Benjamin.

This weekend we've got our big motor race here in Australia - The Bathurst 1000.

It's been held yearly for generations. Drivers have raced in it year after year - grown old, retired, their children have grown up and raced in it, and now their kids as well.

Our Motor industry died a few years ago ( damn shame 'cause we built some good cars ), and it was touch and go if the race would be held this year in particular.....

But it's gone ahead :) :up:....our Football codes are up and running too.

Modern Australia is VERY multicultural. All the races are blending and mixing. Lots of mixed marriages with beautiful eurasian kids everywhere.

Sydney is at least 50% Asian with Chinese being the dominant culture. Which is not necessarily a bad thing 'cause they're practically all model citizens.

The future is golden.

^ I did love this performance, Jim and was speechless when I first saw this. I especially liked Dani Harrison, George's son smiling in approval as he accompanied the performers on his acoustic guitar. :)


Another great rendition of this song is performed by none other than George Harrison himself and accompanied by Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Ringo Star, Elton John and other notables.



This was from the Prince's Trust Concert. Certainly, live performances at their best and the way it was meant to be. The guitar interplay between George Harrison and Eric Clapton is incredible.

^ I think they were all great in the Princes trust series but the 1986 Princes Trust concert was also very special. They all looked like they were having a great time and enjoying each other.
