Dowly, care to reveal what servers you like to fly on and what your HL username is?:|\\
Two UK server I like:
195.149.21.215:21000
195.149.21.12:21000
Oh and I dont use HyperLobby. Just ASE. But my flightname is Dowly too.
Why not? HL kicks the @®$€ off ASE...
The UK.ded servers are my favorites too, I guessed your screenies might be from them as Sepp flys there a lot.
-SBJ
Yeh, Sepp was there with the "Krautz"-guys. Flew as their escort few times.
Oh and why I dont use HB? I CANT FIND A FECKING DOWNLOAD LINK ANYWHERE!!!! :rotfl:
O_o o_O (http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=8)

To Fatty,
Not sure if you have it, but have you downloaded the update that uses Wings over Europe sky's.
From what I've seen, it adds better clouds in WoV.
No sir, that was the absolute barebones fresh install. My brain was toasted from studying so I wanted to zap some MiGs for a break and put it on. Will get around to updating in a few days

You know that thing you wear on your head? Keep these under that. They were posted by a dev I will not name on another high trafic forum I will not name. He/she doesn't want them circulating too far, but I had to share them with you guys. Don't put them on any flight sim forums, they'll be everywhere in no time. Both are rendered by the SOW engine obviously.

Top two are Falcon Allied Force, middle one is First Eagles and the bottom two are Flight Simulator's latest incarnation.
(and no, the PMDG 747 wasn't working properly in FSX, I ported it over from FS9 to see what would and wouldn't work, it flies but none of the surfaces animate and the avionics are mostly missing)

Is Falcon Allied Force a very good game?
Falcon Allied Force is indeed a very good sim, but it has a steep learning curve. As you may know it is basically an update of Falcon 4.0. However, the original Falcon 4.0 came with what most people regard as one of the best printed manuals ever for a sim/game (it's huge - has 27 chapters!).
The recent update, Allied Force only comes with a tiny manual and a pdf, so learning how to use all the systems of the F-16 is quite a task, however, it's not impossible, as the pdf manual is quite comprehensive and there are many websites etc where things are explained.
Allied Force is probably about 90 percent accurate in its portrayal of the systems on an F-16, you can even start the thing up the same way that you would the real thing! To most propellerheads this makes it their dream come true, but it does mean that it can be a bit daunting to a beginner, nevertheless, you can ease yourself into it with simplified settings and such.
Although the graphics are not absolutely up-to-the-minute, that does mean it's a great game to play online with your buddies, very smooth, and doesn't require a super-new computer to run okay either. However, it can be tricky to get up and running online, so I'd recommend using Hamachi to emulate a LAN with it if you want to play online and have problems getting it to work.
Got probably one of the best dynamic campaigns of any flight simulation ever too.
If you don't want to be able to work every switch in the cockpit however, it might not be your thing, but it's fairly cheap to buy, so why not give it a try? One thing you won't be, is disappointed.

There really isnt any other modern flightsim that comes even close to what F4:AF is. One you could try is Lock On: Modern Air Combat.

I wonder if I can still score a copy of CFS3 somewhere. I always avoided it before and now I regret it.
The water graphics and models look sort of... ehhh, and the high-altitude view is terrible, but otherwise it looks quite nice and I think these mods would be cool too :hmm:

Hey, at least you actually did DAMAGE to the damned factory. Look at my screenshot -- we barely even touched it.

You maniac Dowly. :damn:
My twistcontrol rudder on the joystick is a bit messed up, it only takes a feather to touch the stick and the rudder points ½ to the left. It's kinda hard on dogfights, when you bank and forget to adjust the rudder slightly to the right.

Can't you calibrate your joystick so that it isn't as sensitive? Also, how should rudder be used? Rudder left when banking right, and rudder right when banking left? Or is it: rudder left when banking left, rudder right when banking right?
*Edit*: Another photo:

There's settings in IL2 to make the joystick less sensitive, but I've gotten used to have it on default. I dont use much rudder when turning, mainly just to keep my plane level.

Is that LOMAC? For some reason never grabbed me.
Looks like LOMAC to me. Nice screenshots BTW Oberon.
Never really fell in love with LOMAC as much as Falcon (even before the Allied Force version of Falcon came out).
LOMAC is too much of a 'survey sim masquerading as a study sim' for my liking. Occasionally it's good for a quick blast in a MiG-29 though, and it does look quite pretty in comparison to Falcon, which is why it's still installed on one of my hard drives, and online with a buddy in two A-10s is good fun. 'Right Engine Fire, Left Engine Fire...., RADAR failure...' etc:rotfl:
:D Chock
Yup, tis LOMAC, I haven't tried Falcon yet, but that is on my list of Flightsims to get one day ;) At the mo I have the original Rowansoft BoB (Got it about the first month it came out), LOMAC, IL2, IL2: Pacific Fighters, and Comanche vs Hokum...I think that's the whole list ATM. :D
LOMAC's fun for a blast about in although sometimes I get a little overwhelmed by some of the buttons  but otherwise it's all cool, even better now I have a joystick!
I would say the same about LOMAC (the other thing has always been that it never ran that well on my PC). I tried 3 times to get into it, and though I learned to fly there I never really got into it very far. It never stayed on my HD for that long - as compared to Falcon which has been a permanent fixture on there for 8 years now.

Photo Recon Spitfire from BoB2:
http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob_dev/PaulPics/shot_250.jpg
On the Subject of BoB2, does anyone know (other than doing a repaint, which I'll probably have to) of a way to get BoB2 to actually display the correct Squadron code letters on your Spitfire?
It doesn't matter which Squadron I pick from the drop down menu in the set up, it always displays the same spurious 'KL N' squadron code no matter which squadron I select, and the serial number P939? - the last digit being obscured by other markings (the serial number itself would be a genuine serial number for a BoB-era Spitfire from a batch ordered from Vickers Supermarine in 1939). But 'KL N' wasn't even a real squadron code for WW2 as far as I'm aware, which kind of makes that 'pick a squadron' feature a bit pointless.

well.....different squadrons were placed on different locations? This might be why you pick a squadron?
True, but unless you were simulating being posted to 12 Group and spending all your time forming up a 'Leigh-Mallory-style Big Wing' so that you completely miss the interception because of all your faffing around, then it hardly seems that relevant to pick your airfield. All the Eleven Group fighters got vectored to wherever the fight was via satellite airfields regardless of their actual home station.
I'm probably going to have to repaint them, but I guess even that isn't going to be a total solution, since every fighter in the entire four sections has the same ID code.

Chock,
As Dowly says, for authentic squadron lettering and numbers, you need the MULTISKIN add-on which is a SEPARATE dowload from the 2.06 patch.
Your can read all about what Multiskin for Bob2 does starting on page 232 of the game manual. The game manual is located in your main BoB2 folder within the DOCS folder.
Info on the 2.06 patch AND multiskin is here: http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob/bob206.htm
scroll down to the bottom for download links to each.

I was a bit loathe to get BOB2 since I got the first one...but looking at that...it's a completely different sim, isn't it?
And did I hear someone say that you could let the computer handle the strategic side to it, and just be a pilot at a certain airfield having to sortie out to raids?
Would be pretty cool to assign myself to Manston...hell, would certainly have my work cut out!! ;)

You can get as involved as you want. You are limited in which planes you can fly: Spit, Hurricane,ME109,JU87, after that you can be a gunner in the bigger German Bombers. But for £10 it's well worth the money.:D
And the formations are awesome:up:
