I mentioned this because I was in any case wondering how to award further qualifications - seeing as how Petty Officers can only have one - but you are correct.

Don't get me wrong, I do qualify a PO as a gunner and as a Flack/AA but only after the more important (IMHO) qualifications have been awarded.

Since you pointed out that we ought to be prepared for the time we cannot evade, though, I'll go ahead and give a gunner qualification and I guess I'll see what I'll do with the last PO.

I got same typ of ship two times in my "Erkennungshandbuch" with different data. Can u help?
It is after installing GWX3 Gold. I read thet there are new data with GWX. But how to identify the ship correct? pictures are the same and different data!?!

I just instaled GWX 3.0 a month ago, and I'm playing with 3 friends online on 100% realism and even with no map contacts.

Playing around, I noticed that torpedos in the IXC disappear when trying to reload the rear tubes with the external torpedos.
Question: IX-D2 Range and Torpedo Fix v1 will not fix this problem in GWX 3. Is there a fix for this?

The above issue was fixed for GWX3.0. What mods are you using?

If those are the only mods you've got installed there should be no reason for the phenomena you are describing.
I would expect thousands of posts affirming similar problems.
Give me the date, location, Flotilla and inform me if your using SH3 Commander and whether you have historical U-boat availability enabled (including upgrades on your IXC) and I will endevour to replicate the problem.
I've been using the GWX version 3 gold mod for the past week and LOVE IT!!! At this stage in the game, SH5 can NEVER come out and I won't care :D

I have one question:
How on earth do I use the drawing tools like the nomograph and protractor? I attempt to draw on them, but all I do is pick them up and drag them. Am I missing something?

I have no clue why but with V3 it just seems to refuse to install. No matter what i do with it it just refuses. It tells me every time there is an error trying to read the source file and that the source file is corrupt. :o
If its crashdive.ogg or somthing like that just click ignore and it will be fine.
If you have more corrupted files try to redownload.

Im going to try that i think, ever file is corrupt, i was hoping id not have to resort to this haha, I'll just re-dl it, ill only re-dl the first bit and see if it makes a difference.

By v3, I assume you mean GWX3.0Gold; If so, you have a corrupt download. You need to re-download and check the Md5 to be sure the file is good.
And you MUST install onto a fresh, unmodified install of SH3v1.4b.

Yeah I do. I'm just using the torrent of the complete download now. I was just going to download the 3-1 Bin file to fox the problem but I can as every link is dead haha.

My torpedos have quit loading auto or manually.I thought it was a mod called Battleclass sub so I removed it & started with a whole new clean install of SH3 GWX3.o & it still has the torpedo loading problem. Ant ideas?
When I through all my front torpedos away it will now load all the back ones except torpedo 5.

What is the recommended video card for SH3 GWX 3.0? Allot of people say the ATI cards are better. Can anyone give me some direction? My computer has PCI slot in it.

I've seen the same thing - always on neutral merchants and always on the port side red light.
Here's a question. I plan a brand new install of SH3+ SH3Commander+GWX3+other mods and I was wondering which should I install first: SH3Commander and then SH3+GWX3 or the other way around,or the arrrr I can't think properly with all these mods:D. Please help!

Makes no difference which way round you install
Remember which ever way you do it to add in the extra cfgs to SH3commander for GWX

SH3+GWX+SH3Commander should be on the same hdd partition in the same folder? My hdd is split up in 4. I have a partition for WINXP (C), one for WIN7 (D), one for games, music and other stuff (E) and the fourth (F) for storage.

hi,
if a set the preplotted course out then it doesnt work it veers of onto the the beach and then i cant clear map with that eraser utility thing
if i plot "out" it sets a course heading east, same in reverse.
any ideas?

The preplotted Kiel Canal out works only if You haven't moved an inch before plotting the course. Kiel Canal in starts from a certain point on the map highlighted near the entrance into the bay.

I have an problem with downloading GWX3-1.bin (http://www.filefront.com/13951399/GWX3-1.bin/) file. All others files could be downloadet easely from Filefront but this one seems to be corrupted by somehow.
In Firefox download do not even responce and page get error on server connection
I have tryed with Internet explorer and could only download 16 MB of file... after that download was finished and file was corrupted.
Could you plz reseed this file again on Filefront?

As i said above the problem with downloading the files comes with using Firefox browser. Acording you screens you have used Internet explorer and as i have mentioned above i have succeed to download this file as well trough Internet explorer as well but only from second atempt.
it seems that Filefront has something messed up with this file ( i'm not sure if Google Chrome ) has exact problem.
Personaly from my own experiance i know that plenty of ppl using Mozzilla firefox instead of Internet explorer and it can be frustrating for them if they will run is same problem.
And again..... the only first file cause this problem not the others.
i cant force you to reupload the file to filefront once again but i just want frendly recomend to do so if you dont want more ppl like me comes here with same problem and ask for help.
Filefront has last lots of stuuf crewed up with files ( lots other game's using Filefront has problems with uploadet files) so it wont surprise me if that happence to this files as well.
Anyway i will leave that up to devteam to deside so i will end it rigth here.

Yeah.... i just installed the mod so will go start game once again :). Did not play SH3 for ages now. But you never forget this awesome game and i have lots expectation from this mod :). Atleast what i have did read about it ...... it will be just awesome.

11th Flotilla Bergen July 44 if using historic U-boat availability dates with SH3 Commander.
Otherwise it is April 44....same flotilla etc.

Is it hard to change time scale when this ship type do apear ( basicly i did though about year 43 in july or june)
Will it be just enough to change cfg file with time scale it do apper?
Can it be also changed that not only 11th flotilia gets this type of boat? (lets say also avalible for 7th flotilia?)
Or must be there done more to make it workable?

I have examed the mod in link you have providet to me with XXI type u-boat.
Since i did not like to have this boat in begin of the war and only wanted that it will be avalible in year 1943 instaed of 1944 i have modified some cfg files.
I have looked in game folder and its seems to me logical that GWX mod use data folder what is located in ../Silent Hunter III/data/ so i have done modifications in there.
The modifications what i have done is:
1)
/cfg/basic.cfg -> changed line to: "Year0=1943" in XXI type sub information
2)
/cfg/flotilla.cfg -> changed line in 1stFlotilla to:
Date04=1943
Month04=4
Starting04=Yes
TypeSub04=3; XXI
VersionSub04=0
and:
Date05=1944
Month05=1
Starting05=Yes
TypeSub05=3; XXI
VersionSub05=0
Submarine and Rooster/Germany stayed unchaged since those are similar to those in that mod.
Personal i think it will be enogh to be apear this sub in 1st Flottilla in year 1943.

You should now be good to go but I can't guarantee because I'm reformatting my games machine as I type this so don't have an installation to check the files.
Back up the Basic and Flotilla CFG files before altering so you can restore to your pre moddrd installation...just in case.

If you do have this problem you can copy the _shp file from another ship of roughly the same size and shape.
It's not a perfect match but it's not far off.

thanks for GWX 3. How great to be back around the british coast in 70 meters and being depth charged again in SH3. The Brits just rocked the boat with a rack of depth charges, but I'm creeping away at silent speed, yahoo, heh.
GWX3 really breaths new life into SH3 and I would like to thank all involved. SH3 for me always beat SH4 for this very reason, being able to attack in coastal waters around England. The Brits had some good anti sub tactics which never really came to life in SH4. I've seen some Brit subs in the ID manual as well, will I see them at sea. I read some where the Brits had subs waiting for the uboats to come out from Wilhelmshaven, imagin that in the game play. :DL Just a thought.
SH5 yes please without the DRM, time will tell.

The British S and T classes are scripted into the game....some are even part of convoy formations.

Need some recomendations for a good video card that will handle SH3 GWX3.0. I have a game nobilis computer. Right now I have an ATI 4480. I keep having difficulty with it on the video in the game. I have been using ATI cards.

I'm afraid i did not clarify my good enogh with this matter.
My general problem is not setkeys, but i will try again to explain exact what the problem is.
In the perescoop and/or Uzo window you can move your mouse pointer around the screen and make some selections ( for example choice desired torpedo tube's or notepad to collect data for moving ships , etc.)
There is also another option to klick with left mouse button on the perescoop window what will result in :
1) mouse pointer desapere from screen
2) you will be able to turn your perescoop in all directions by mouse movement searching for targets and/or observing area.
Once you are done with observation you have to klick on the left mouse button again the get get mouse pointer back on screen and thats where the problem do apear.
Normaly in stock game mouse pointer do returns on screen somewhere in the middle of the screen but since i have installed GWX my mouse pointer do always apear on top of launch torpedo button ( the one next lock target button) what ALWAYS result in pressing on that button and launshing torpedo even in there is nothing to shoot.
I have tryed multieple combinations (holding both left and rigth mouse buttons and even middle button) to prevent that pointer apears on top of the launch button but nothing did help, it always was resulted in unwanted launshed torpedo.
I have found some work around but it is not so handy when you are collecting data on ships and always make adjustments by moving peescoop with mouse.
In my case i have to switch to another view ( inside ship and or crew or simply by looking at battle or navigation map and then switch back to perecoop) but most ifficent is calling with F1 info tab what result in release my mouse pointer in the middle of screen without launshing torp.
Still it is not so handy work around and i was hopping that it is know bug and can be ajusted by changing some parameters where the pointer do apear on screen ( in the meiddle for example instead of on top of launch button) after releasing from perescoop movement.
So any advice will be very welcome in this matter.

Yes this is a known problem, there's no mod that can make the mouse pointer appear somewhere else after you return from periscope view. I think the only way is to use a GUI mod that doesn't have the launch button right there.

Yes it's hardcoded, the position depends on your resolution I think, either play with that or switch GUIs.

Hi Deputy. I just checked my links and Jimbuna's links via the GWX website. They are working fine. (DL speed from FileFront for me was roughly 700 kbps)
Maybe you had (or have) a temporary internet gremlin.;)

I can verify it works great. All those radio messages were drivig me crazy too. This cuts down on them to just the important ones.
The downloads from Kpt.Lehmann's location are definitely NOT working. Just gives an endless loop and no download. :nope:
Same problem at Jim's location. Endless loop of "Download Now" and then it says downloading and then back to Download Now.

A biggy question for all you would be uboat skippers, no fibs now, truth, ya hear.
Has anyone, one single skipper made it right through the war in a uboat.
This has always eluded my every attempt, and every boat I ever skippered ended up diving into the crushing depths of oblivion. But I just suvived a depth charging at 70 meters off Scotlands east coast, three destroyers no less. I'm not at 100% realism, I don't think that would be possible for me. But what a great annual competion in SH3, who could make it through the war with the most sinkings. :sunny:
The moral, do not enlist with me as a captain, Heh.
So pleasing to be back in SH3/GWX. wow.

Not me, but then I tend to restart at the beginning every time I want to try a new mod, so I've never seen the back side of 1940. I also use SH3 Commander's 'Realistic Career Length' option, so I probably couldn't get all the way through if I tried.
There have been a few who have posted about finishing the war. Don't know what levels they were playing on, though.
Ahhh...and the ULTIMATE question. Has anyone ever WON the war on the German side? LOL....don't bother to answer. But it would be kind of neat if you could. :up:

This is very puzzling, I have just d/l from BOTH links without a problem.
Are you sure you don't have a pop up blocker activated?
QAnother possibility could be that your bandwidth allocation might be low because when I'm multitasking on the web I occasionally have problems getting the d/l prompt from FF.

Thanks irish.....I'm not aware of what your experiencing but I am confident the file d/l is working, not only by d/l to my desktop but also by the growing number of d/l on the counter.

I just now clicked the link, worked just fine (all the way to "do you want to overwrite this file", at least)
Not sure what that issue could be, since the server seems to be serving it right up...
Tried it again with popup blocker deactivated. Still nothing. Just goes back to the Download Now page.

Try deleting your cookies and temp int files....maybe that might help.

I got the first three files downloaded fine, but am stuck in the endless loop with GWX3-4.bin. I got a strong feeling it's all the Java crap that is on that File Front page that might be screwing things up. I'll keep trying. Deleting the cookies and temp files didn't help this time.
Well I finally got all of it downloaded. I am thinking another possibility may be that File Front may be excessively busy because of the weekend. But I am definitely gonna burn this stuff on a CD so that I have it.

Steam simply changes the pathway for the Silent Hunter III directory. Just look in your program files under "Steam" to find it, then point/navigate the GWX installer to it.
(I am not sure if the Steam Silent Hunter III DL version comes pre-patched to version 1.4b. If it does not, you will first need to download and apply the official SH3 1.4b patch before applying GWX.)

Okay....I have suggestions for Grey Wolves 3.1 Platinum (hehe).
#1. I would like to see a mod that allows the selection of ANY U-Boat for ANY year with ANY upgrade available for that boat. A lot of us are playing "hypothetical scenarios" and this would really make for some great gameplay.
#2 How about a mod for U-boats that weren't produced in large numbers or those that were planned but never produced? I have a book called "U-Boats: The Illustrated History of the Raiders of the Deep" by David Miller that has all kinds of info on U-Boats that were built in very small numbers or not at all. I'm sure many SH3 users have the book. The info in it is priceless, along with some great pics. There are 3 pages of proposed U-Boats that were never built. And yes, there is even a special missile project for both the V1 and V2 missiles to be launched via subs (Project Ursel). There was also a missile project that was tested and SUCCEEDED in launching 6 30cm rockets from underwater for use againt escorts!!!
As far as I'm concerned, GWX has exteneded SH3 to the point where I am not in the least bit interested in SH5. I doubt SH5 can come close to what we have now. And we still have a LOT available for the future.

I am sure this question as been asked before, but with over 100 pages of threads, where do I start looking to find an answer. So please bear with me, I have GWX3 Gold installed over a fresh install of SH3, interiors are to die for, it is when I go to the bridge that my problem begins. When I first arrive everything's fine, but the minute I click on the Watch Officer the camera jumps up to at least 3-4 meters above the conning tower and is pointed downwards. I can force the camera to the right height again, but each time I click on the WO the camera flies up again.

Hi all, pardon me if this is a dumb question but I've looked around and can't seem to find an answer....I've d'led SH3 on steam (with no other mods) and the installation of Grey Wolves says that modded files were found so I can't continue the installation..........I un and re-installed to see if this would fix it and it still says I have mods detected.
Is there a problem with Steam and Grey Wolves, or am I doing something stupid (I"ll wager on this!) Thanks,

Most of the GWX messages are historicaly correct but are not corellated with actual ship movements. In other words don't spend too much time looking for ships based on messages.

Now what I need is to be able to select any boat without paying the renown cost as in the Type XX1 mod, and to have all U-Boat upgrades available in 1939. I can sure wait until you are done with your current project for that, though. Can't thank you enough for this. Am really looking forward to taking some of these modern boats out earlier in the war. :up:

Two more fairly easy ones:
1. Change the Renown=### and Renown#=### to Renown=0 or Renown#=0 through the basic.cfg file and you've got free upgrades.
2. Keep searching through basic.cfg for more Year#= and change them all to Year#=1939 (including those for the equipment).
You now have free upgrades and all upgrades are available from the beginning of the war.

Rule of thumb: if you receive a location by radio that gives latitude and longitude then it is for immersion. If you receive a grid (e.g. AM52) then you should check it out. The rule isn't 100% accurate but it's close enough for my liking.

Unfortunately this didn't solve the problem, or perhaps im a fool! I tried installing it everywhere and it keeps giving me the error. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times now!

Well could use that one but wont be so fun anymore.
Anyway my patiance is paid off. Just before i got contact report on aproching convoi in grid Am 61 from NW to AM 64 sector i picked also on hydro multieply war ships aproching from behind.
Visibility is poor about 1-1,5 km though i calculated the path of task force and get what 30 minets ltr i got HMS Hood and Revenge Class in my periscoop view with another.
Both are lying down in deep see and third one is heavy damaged and making away at 1 knot.
I managed to reload 1 tube but still was not able to get on periscoop depth since i have about 9 destroyers trying depth charge me for about 2 hours now.
So i'm slovly crawling almost at the bottom of the see in the direction where my last target to sink it but i'm starting to think that i probably will meet same desteny as the HMS Hood since those destroyers dont plan leave me alone so long i'm alive :shifty:.
Meaby it will be easyer if the others destroyers from convoi did not join the fray to sink me.
Anyway.... i'm still here and still alive and we will see who is goin win this cat and mouse game. Just only hope they will run out of depth charges soon.

usually the ones giving lat and long are for immersion but a lot can depend on any radio message mods you may have installed.

I revamped the GWX messages as well as adding to them, so if you follow jim's advice and ignore lat/long and react to grids you won't go far wrong. You could also download the lite version as jim suggested.
If it is immersion that you're after then I heartily recommend danurve's radio message mods. He researched all of his messages so they are as close as he can get to the messages sent by u-boats and BdU during WW2 without actually being there.

Do you mean it looks like a negative....light sea, black sky?
If so, that is usually down to not rolling back SH3 Commander before enabling the environment mod.

I guess you mean the tile effect ?
Dont think can be cured completely though I may be wrong as not been around as much as would like so may have missed something
But the water is made from overlapping tiles IIRC so distance shots always show up bad
Sometimes worse than others due to weather state
But I do get your point as bugged me from day one that " feature "

Is there any way to get rid of the "explode when sinking?" I hit a merchant with a couple of torpedoes, which caused no fires at all, but when the ship had submerged, there were huge explosions and fireballs. This happens with every ship sunk, and is kind of annoying.

Just out of interest, i noticed one can start in August 1939 in GWX3.
However the war did not start until September so does one get credit for sinking Uk merchants prior to outbreak of war?

You use the spare time to get used to your boat and its surroundings....call it a training cruise if you like.
You are given additional renown to make up for the negative renown you'll receive when you practice torpedo firing against the merchants.

I didn't realize that! I thought I had gotten spanked for sinking those ships the first time I did it, and from then on, I left them alone, popping out in the middle of nowhere so I could run up to max tc without much interruption. I'll have to have another go at them next time I start fresh.

Try starting in August 39 in 7t Flotilla out of Konigsberg. On your fourth day out you'll receive a radio message recalling you, hit Esc and return to base and transfer to 1st or 2nd Flotilla. Provided you have set SH3 Commander to 20 days in port you'll find your at your new base in youe new Flotilla on 24th August ready to commence your next/second patrol.
You now have time to transit to your patrol grid prior to the commencement of hostilities....as was the case in RL.

FYI: For anyone trying to get the resolution fix to work when using XP64bit pro version: You must alter the files that are in your SH3 folder located in your documents folder. If you attempt the change in the "native" folder, suggested by the mod author, it will not work.

I had that problem for a bit, until I realized I needed to change the target installation path to where sh3 is installed, probably program files/steam/steamapps/common/sh3. I'm on xp though.

I just ran into a problem when I return from a war patrol I get attacked by the ships patrolling the harbor entrances. I start a campaign at the begining of the war. It doesnt matter what harbor I start from I've tried all 3. I installed GWX on a clean install of SH3 patched 1.4b. I use Vista 64bit. When I leave the harbor the escorts behave as they should but when I return they attack.

Were you in your first patrol during August 1938 by any chance?
Every vessel is neutral during that time period and seeing as how an attack on a neutral ship means every neutral will perceive you as an enemy during the next 24 hours this is probably what happened in your case.
During your first patrol you will receive a radio message after 4 days instructing you to return to base, you should press Esc and teleport back.

If you use the off-line mode of Steam you can play the game "outside" the Steam environment. My recommendation is to copy and paste your version of SH3 to a different folder (say GWX) and then install GWX on top of it (the new folder). That way your original SH3 is intact and you also have a GWX version to play with.

Hey gents, am raring to go for Grey Wolves, but
1) My OS is Windows 7 (64bit)
2) My SH III is a Steam copy
Have followed the instructions but an error message comes up asking me to put in 'disk 7' then it says it cannot locate GWX 7.bin despite it being there. Also all the bin files are coming up as just being 1kb.
Any suggestons? i looked through this thread, but its so large. Thanks in advance.
p.s: those wolf gifs are cool!

You get fairly close (less than 25km) and then end your patrol in the same way as you would in any friendly port,
press <ESC> and choose Dock at: <supplyshipname>
You then get a fully resupplied boat, albeit with a standard torpedo loadout that you can't tailor to your wants (you get what you're given) you CAN manage your crew but not upgrade your boat.
It might be wise to then exit the game and, if you're using SH3 commander, set the days spent in base to 1 for your next patrol, otherwise you might spend a month in lovely Spain, which is of course nice, but not very realistic :D

Convoy HXF.11 departed Halifax at 1000 escorted by Canadian destroyers ST LAURENT and SKEENA, which detached on the 3rd. Ocean escort was provided by armed merchant cruiser ASCANIA and submarines NARWHAL and SEAL. On the 3rd, 70 miles from Halifax, steamers MANCHESTER REGIMENT (5989grt) and OROPESA (14,118grt) collided. MANCHESTER REGIMENT was taken in tow, but foundered in mid-afternoon, and the crew taken aboard OROPESA.
Convoy HX.11, escorted by destroyer HYPERION and Canadian destroyers ST LAURENT and SKEENA, departed Halifax at 1000. HYPERION was detached early on the 5th and at 1600/5th the Canadian ships turned over the convoy to ocean escort by battleship Revenge and French submarines SFAX and CASABIANCA as protection against German battleships. The submarines were detached off the Lizard on the 16th and arrived at Brest on the 17th, being escorted into port by French sloop COMMANDANT RIVIERE

The GWX manual says that the Periscope has X10 mag to help identify ships etc but in game it apperas to be only X6. Is this a bug and/or is there a way to reactivate the X10 mag.

It's not GWX that does this but SHIII. In both Campaigns and Single missions stock SH3 without using SH3Commander randomly assigns any number to the player boat.

stimy, The BF10 patrol grid assignment is caused by a error in the Flottille.cfg file. Since GWX removes the renoun for reaching and patrolling assigned grids, just ignore it and patrol where you want.

Hey guys since the terrible release of the blasphemous "SHV" which thankfully I have not purchased I was though looking to get back underway in the Atlantic after quite a while away. If I remember correctly GWX was still in the 1 stage lol.
Anyways my main question is what is the recommended level of realism to play at? I normally play at 100% but that doesn't give map updates that the crew should be able to perform. So what do the GWX devs suggest or anyone that has played it an extended period of time?

I'd suggest you play it at around 25% then up it a little as you get used to it and more proficient.

is this possible to do by me or just sink every enemy ship?
i got this as a message from another U-boat
how do i derive where he is somewhere, as the grids only have 2 numbers? and what do the other 3 things mean?

Location grid BE 3451 is :
Grid BE34 then subdivised in
1-2-3
4-5-6
7-8-9
So 5 is just the middle,
Then subdivised again in the same way, so 1 top left corner.

Wind 7 meters per second.
Sea State (Beaufort Scale) 7 (which means waves averaging 4-5 meters in height, but then the wind should be 14-17 m/s).
Mean Barometer (or Mercury Barometer - I'm not sure about the German) 34 (inches? millimeters? millibars? I'm not sure on that one).
is there any way to change the fatigue on the crew, mine are constantly close to exhaustion no matter how long I let them rest
maybe a mod to disable the fatigue for GWX3?
SH3 Commander has a option for no fatigue which works quite well.

If you use SH3 Commander you have several "Fatigue Model" options, one of which is "No Fatigue." It eliminates the need to tuck your crewman into their bunks every few hours. They'll stay where they are unless you move them for whatever reason but they won't get tired out because of it.
There is also a way to edit the game files to remove the fatigue issue without using Commander:

It is not possible to take an enemy ship as a prize. The GWX-team added many radio messages to SH3 to keep you informed about the war progress, and minor messages (such as this one) to give the impression that there is a war raging around you.

Radio messages are generally an aid to immersion.
If you use SH3 Commander you have several "Fatigue Model" options, one of which is "No Fatigue." It eliminates the need to tuck your crewman into their bunks every few hours. They'll stay where they are unless you move them for whatever reason but they won't get tired out because of it.
There is also a way to edit the game files to remove the fatigue issue without using Commander:

When you open Commander look along the bottom of the main screen, you should see a little icon that looks like a tool to the left of the center. If you click it you'll get the SH3 Options popup. Fourth down on the list on the left side of that is Gameplay Settings. Click that and at the top of the list of options you'll get on the right hand side of the screen is the one for choosing a fatigue model. Check the box to make SH3 import your chosen fatigue model into the game, and then choose "No fatigue" from the dropdown list to the right. Click Apply at the bottom and you're good to go. :up:
As someone else noted, to manually edit the game files to eliminate fatigue, you need to go into the basic.cfg file and look for the relevant sections as indicated in linked post and edit them accordingly. But back up that cfg file before making any changes!

Hey guys, I've tried downloading the mod from both locations on the Grey Wolves site, both #1 .bin files seem to be corrupt, and the MD5 codes for both don't match up. I've been looking around for a while now, is there somewhere else to dl the not-so-corrupt files? Thanks in advance!

The files on my FF account (link above my sig) are all working fine...as is the torrent link.
is there a way to add back in the "weapon officer assistance" button that was removed in GWX? its my happy medium between full manual and automatic..??

If you are using GWX3 you'll also need to install the config files for Commander + GWX3:

If you use the No Fatigue model provided with Commander, you won't need to edit the basic.cfg to remove fatigue as an issue. However Notepad should work fine if you need to edit any cfg files in the future.
If you try to open a cfg file and get a popup saying Windows needs to know which program to open it with, select "choose from list" and then select Notepad from the list.
Or you might try right-clicking on the file and see if you get an "Open with..." option in the menu that pops up, if so you can click that and choose Notepad from there.

Problem solved. Was the RB SH4 effects thingy. I also noticed now that the dense of the smokescreen was really low. Now with SH4 effects off, I can see the smokescreen far faaaaaar better over 20km :arrgh!:
