Firefox user here, but I don't care if I miss something... sooner or later ..... or it wasn't worth it......
DLing now. ..... reading will commence in 5 minutes
The website will load a music theme for non-Firefox users, just to satisfy any user curiosities.
:) Thanks  .... sooner or later .... I'll hear it for sure :yep:
After having the first look at the document:
Technical comment: can you state the minor version of the document on one of the firste pages? I understood, there are and will be minor corrections.
To distinguish these, we need a mark (at best case by the state version history inside the document).
Or is it included already :hmm:? My first skimming of the content couldn't get anything like this ....
It should be on the manual splash page. Bottom right corner. (Version 2.04 is most current as of today.)
[Edit: Sorry for cross-post Danlisa.]

No worries. Future versions will have a notation somewhere. Be assured that the version you are looking at is version 2.04.

I don't know if its to late to ask this but will GWX ever feature the Battle of Britian? It does seem possible to do now because of the new aircraft that will be in 1.04, such as the He 111,Bf-109s, Hawker Hurricanes, and the new british heavy bombers.
No sir. To observe that battle... you'd have to camp out in the English Channel... which is incredibly dangerous to U-boats if we've done our job correctly.
Surface engagements... no worries... air battles... not so much. I'm sure you understand.Oh well. Just thought I'd ask.

Either version of JSGME will do. If you want the latest one just download it and install it on top of the older version. Just make sure you disable all mods and you Rollback SH3Cmdr before installation.

One question!....I kinda downloaded it different...Instead I made the GWX folder in my documents. Anyways, after I installed it I went right away to play, but once I started a new campaign, it seemed that there was nothing going on in the harbour,so I activated everything in JSGME,and I started the game again, and made a new campaign, but once it gets 90% done loading it stops? Do I even need to activate anything? Or is this how the mod is,hehe.
Please note, all previous GWX release links have been shunted to post # 2 below in preparation for the release of GWX 2.0 material that will be posted here.
GWX 2.0 Installation instructions:
1. Create a fresh/brand new installation of GWX patched to version 1.4b
2. Go into your "My Documents" and delete the "SH3" folder you find there. Old Silent Hunter III careers will not be compatible with GWX 2.0
Just to clarify, that is SHIII patched to 1.4b. Also, I thought my old GWX 1.03 career files would be usable in GWX 2.0. Is this still the case.

You can replace and try it
No gaurantees it will work though
Depends on date\location\units sunk already
Worth a try though

I have played about 2.5 hours so far and only noticed one oddity. I was in Scapa Flow in Sept. '39 and a destroyer was on the other side of an island from me. He was firing on me even though he couldn't see me then instead of coming around the island he drove aground on it and ended up sinking. Unfortunately it was before i could maneuver into position to sink him with a torpedo.
I seriously doubt this is a GWX issue, but more likely a dumb AI one.
Tool.

Hi ya'll, what is "GWX - Merged Campaign?" I did a search in the manual and couldn't find it. It's one of the JSGME options but isn't in that section of the manual that tells what all those JSGME options are. A computer search of the entire document doesn't show it, either.
KeptinCranky
12-09-07, 06:22 PM
Right,
the Black Sea and Indian Ocean campaign files are separate for those that want quicker load times and only play in those areas. you must enable those with JSGME if you're going to play in those areas or they'll be empty. This is in the manual too
The merged campaign is exactly that, everything in one file, makes load times slightly longer. Enable it if you plan to visit the Indian ocean from the Atlantic or don't mind a bit longer load time.
It is the Atlantic, Black Sea and Indian Ocean campaigns in one very large merged campaign. If your machine can handle it you then don't need to load the Black Sea or Indian Ocean campaigns separately which will significantly reduce the load on your rig.
Make sure though that these three "mods" are mutually exclusive. If you load one then load another one the last one loaded will take precedence as it will overwrite the same files that were written by the one loaded earlier.
@Cranky beat me to it ya bugger!

Just finished downloading, I just want to check something. Is SHIII Weather usable with GWX 2.0
No externally developed mods were tested during the Beta testing of GWX2.0 so you can give it a go. Our advice is to try it as is for a few days to make sure that there are no problems before installing other mods over the top.
We do know that any graphics only mods will be OK though as they do not alter configurations, ships and subs or campaign files. Any mods which alter these run the risk of causing CTD's.

Miner1436 - No, you just need to have a clean installation of SH3 1.4b and the NEW GWX 2.0. This is totally stand-alone, no prior version of GWX necessary.

no, it means to make a new install of stock SH3, eg: Your CD, then patch it with version 1.4b, then download and install GWX2.0.
Hope that helps;)

GWX 2.0 ia a standalone upgrade of 1.03.....all you need is a fresh install of SH3 patched to 1.4b.
SH3 Commander is a separate install, but you will need the CFG file, downloadable from the GWX website. :arrgh!:

there is a funny literal error in the Docu and the SH-3 Ingame-Map.
The little island in the "Deutsche Bucht" is Helgoland and not "Heligoland".

Classic GWX style to try and lockup every file so that noone can use them :nope: Realize that my SH4 effects for SH3 uses the particles.dat file. I'm confused. Are you talking about the Sh3 Commander Skin Packs for Capital Ships, Escorts, Merchants and Destroyers? These changed skins based on Sh3 Commander Date Files. Did GWX 2.0 manage to accomplish these date changed skins without using Sh3 Commander?

Must have missed something along the way, here. I wasn't aware that any particular files in SH3 ".dat" or otherwise either belonged to an individual, or were subject to a rule which said that no-one must modify them - except, of course, someone who had modified them already. Enough of the sarcasm.
I have no connection whatsoever with Kapt. Lehmann, or any of the GWX Team. Like many members of the Subsim Community I am simply a grateful and admiring user of the fruits of their labours, as I am of the work of many other non-GWX modders. However, on behalf of the GWX Team, especially on this rather special day, I have to say that I deeply dislike Racerboy's use of language and deplore his apparent attitude.
Someone once said that "a basic problem with mankind is that in a society, each individual member believes that every other individual member thinks as he does." Perhaps Racerboy could usefully consider this truism.
Good natured rivalry is one thing. Racerboy's post is quite another.

Since I don't intend on playing 2.0 without Commander, I hope you can possibly make the cfg file available a little sooner than intended. If not, I'll just wait, thanks.
By the way, I need a little clarification on something in the manual to make sure it's just not a typo error. I intend on using the "Alternate Flotillas" mod, but unclear on this statement:
Disable SH3 Commander "Use historic U-boat availability dates" option. The stock GWX .cfg
files for SH3 Commander cover only the stock GWX flotillas and not the optional 3rd Flotilla.
So SHOULD I or OR SHOULD I NOT "Use historic U-boat availability dates" option for 3rd Flotilla and only use that option when playing a career in the 30th/33rd flotilla? To me it looked like I should use the option since it's not a stock GWX cfg file.
Thanks

Help,
I have spent the last 4 hours trying to reinstall SHIII and GWX2. First I could not uninstall SHIII evidently because files had been modified. Then after multiple install, repair &/or Modify attempts I was able to uninstall the game. I then installed SHII, Patched to 1.4 (even thought the patch program said it was to 1.3) But when I tried to install GWX2 I got this message: F:program file\silent Hunter III\data\air\ADB_JU87Stuka\ADB_JU87Stuka.cfg did not pass and was corrupt.
I have repeated this several times with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
J B
Edit: I went back and looked at the data folder and there is no air folder in it.

Since I don't intend on playing 2.0 without Commander, I hope you can possibly make the cfg file available a little sooner than intended. If not, I'll just wait, thanks.
Fred, did you get an early download of GWX 2.0? The SH3 Cdmr files should have been available at the same time.:hmm:
Yes, I got the email with the links from Neal. All that was attached was the .exe file and the 7 .bin files. Where do I get them?
There should have been a link near the bottom of the e-mail for the Sh3 Cmdr cfg files.

Please forgive me is this was mentioned somewhere, but did 2.0 do away with the Sub Commander skin pack?
Yes it is now integrated into the mod itself
I'm confused. Are you talking about the Sh3 Commander Skin Packs for Capital Ships, Escorts, Merchants and Destroyers? These changed skins based on Sh3 Commander Date Files. Did GWX 2.0 manage to accomplish these date changed skins without using Sh3 Commander?
I was wondering the same thing. Wasn't the optional skin pack almost as large as GWX? :hmm:

Great work on the mod. One really silly thing that irks me though... in the new enabled crew cheers for when a torpedo strikes, why on earth is there someone very clearly calling for a medic? :D

Now I'll have to go out there and get my boat shot up to find out :(

Are you using the German voices or the English ones? GWX2.0 is designed to be used with German voices. You can choose whether to use English or German text, but the sound track is far more immersive when heard in German. Just like Das Boot! :D

Aaah what a TALE I have to tell. Of lack of TAIL I do bewhale, for in which direction do I sail ? My compass heading true and good, but my contacts are not where they should! Four nautical miles my convoy large; Wham! Bam! I'm suddenly depth charged.
Not once, not twice but now its thrice; I've hit the deep six, "For my crew....not nice".
They are fed up with this Captain bold, singing out, "He's too bloomin' old!" To restore their faith, which of present they lack, any chance of having that TAIL back?

Did you know, that when you close to visual range, those tails reappear when you zoom in on the map?
The removal of the tails succesfully adresses the overly accurate convoy report information given in game... to encourage players to hunt and chase without certain success!:arrgh!:
If you bag a bucket of kills every time you get in the water... where is the fun in that?
Try playing with it a bit longer. We'll produce a modlet that returns the tails for those that wish it after a time...

I at first was a little uncomfortable without tails but as Beta testing went on I got used to it and now am quite competent at checking my direction using the compass and tracking down and intercepting convoys and ships. For me it took about a patrol and a half to be convinced that I didn't need them and once used to it I wouldn't look to put them back on.
Others may have different modes of play or needs and wants and there is always the option of putting them back on if it bugs you that much but I'd say give it a spin for a few cycles to see if it really is a problem for you before turning tails back on.

A couple of queries, if I may:
1. The Attack Periscope is very blurred when first raised and the fuzziness seems to stay for a very long time then and after a wave has washed over it. Please tell me that this is intentional and if it is a bug please don't fix it. I love the effect and the resulting tension and suspense, especially without the external camera. - "It's a ship, but f**k knows what it is and whose it is!" -
2. I use German voices. Am I meant to hear a voice actually saying "She's going down" and a few other things which do appear as text?
Once again, thanks for the best mod ever.

1) The periscope screen should stay 'foggy' for awhile and then clear, as if water is draining from it. Also, if you are using SH3Cmdr & have malfuctions & sabotage enabled, there are setting which affect the periscope visibilty.
2) The 'She's going down' message is replaced with audible cheers, there are a few other text meassages which have been replaced with suitable audiable equivalents.
I'll never kill the freecam cos I'me addicted to eye candy and found it frustrating that when I want to have a look at something I can't.

Back before the release of GWX 1.0, I increased the length of time required for the water to clear from the periscope lenses by one second. I'm glad you like it. I never thought it was important enough to mention before.
Regarding the 'she's going down' bit... many of the voice prompts that were planned for Stock SH3 were never completed, and the code to impliment them remains incomplete. (We didn't break it... we just worked with what is / was available already.)

@ Danlisa & the Kpt
Thanks for such swift responses. I do use Commander with Malfunctions & Sabotage enabled. Being a cautious soul, on meeting my first GWX2 convoy, and not knowing what "surprises" might be in store I raised the periscope so that the head was just above the surface. In a moderate to light sea it meant that my vision was blurred for a lot of the time as the ships - and escorts - came towards my position. What an incredible effect! I kept it there. It was broad daylight, clear as a bell and I wanted to minimise the risk of the 'scope being spotted.
Took out 2 ( ore carrier and whale factory ship ) Amazing effects (enhanced) then dived deep. The behaviour of the early-war escorts was spot-on: aggressive, but without the technology to pose too much of a threat to a silent-running boat going deep. One still circled uncomfortably close for a long time and peppered the area with depth charges.
Can't wait to finish work and get home for more.
Thanks again. Great job!

its most impressive - exactly as I knew it would be
The game seems to work fine for me but for one (slightly) troubling aspect
The initial intro with the howling wolf plays in psychodelic colours. I have recently had to have a factory reinstall on my computer following a catastrophic crash but what could cause this ?
My graphics card drivers are all up to date

Just guessing here Kaluen, but I suspect you still have traces, bits and pieces of the old install still floating around your registry. Do a complete uninstall again, making SURE to delete the Ubisoft directory and SH3 (in "My Documents")...then do a search thru the registry for anything such as "SH3" "SilentHunter III" and delete them. Then try a new install.
Make sure also, that you downloaded the correct 1.4 patch. There are 4, and only the one that is for your specific install type will work.
And what Jimbuna said too...it "may" already BE 1.4?
My graphics card drivers are all up to date
You might want to try going back a step or two on versions. Sometimes the latest...is not the greatest.;)

This isn't a fix but you could do what I do.
Personally, I like to go straight into the loading screen when I click my GWX shortcut.
To accomplish this, delete the 2 files you find in the folder SilentHunterIII\data\Movies\Intro. That will remove the Howling wolf & Ubisoft intro.;)
Like I said, this is my preference, it may not be the same for others.

Confirm your version number on the load screen, bottom right hand corner; newer releases are at 1.4
If your getting defective graphics/colours on the load screens delete the files as Danlisa suggests - I did that 5 minutes after installing the game! (although it WAS a relief when SH3 loaded OK because I was a bit worried when I saw the screens you describe))

Is there any info on the "Enhanced Damage Effects" mod that ships with GWX2?
I was curious about this mod but as soon as I enable it the game will not run (under Vista). As soon as I try to begin a mission it stops responding. As soon as I remove this mod everything works again.

I have exactly the same thing, the red bar fills up completely but nothing seems to happen.
This is normal....what I do is watch the HDD led like a hawk (or do what danlisa said :D) eventually it will start doing stuff and you'll get the not so long ago... screen
The discrepancy between the red bar and the actual loading of the game is greatest when you start the game the first time, after that it will return to normal

Well your problems isn't nothing compering mine problems,i had to wait the whole week to get the GWX 2.0 to downloaded.I've been smoking, drinking coffee and kissing my wife now 4 days:damn: . But i'm a real man,i can wait, even if it takes my whole health away. And i'm going donate few bucks, but only after when i get GWX to downloaded
You are a good man Surfrider.
Great work on the mod. One really silly thing that irks me though... in the new enabled crew cheers for when a torpedo strikes, why on earth is there someone very clearly calling for a medic? :D
Are you using the German voices or the English ones? GWX2.0 is designed to be used with German voices. You can choose whether to use English or German text, but the sound track is far more immersive when heard in German. Just like Das Boot! :D
I'm a bit late with this, but I should've clarified that I certainly meant the German sounds. Which is to say the voice very clearly yelling "Sani!" - the voice is actually from the Gibraltar scene in Das Boot where Kriechbaum is wounded and they're bringing him back into the boat :yep:
I'll keep blaming Bernard I guess :p

I'm relatively new to the whole idea of modding games for more realism, but when I tried GWX 1.3 I was instantly hooked. It improved gameplay, immersion, realism and it made the game for fun - at the same time! You guys must have really work yourselves to the bone to make a modification this massive - the amount of detail is amazing. And what I've read about the 2.0 version, you'll raise the bar to a whole new level.
EDIT: Removed some text

..........If this is the case, I wont' install the game until the 16th as a matter of principle.

There are some very under handed & deceitful people in this community and they are cheapening the donations and support already offered. Some people carry a grudge for a long time.
Thank you for your support in this matter.

Hello mates.
I have read that one has to uninstall SHIII and reinstall in order to properly dl GWX 2. I have a clean copy of SHIII patched to 1.4 on my hard drive. Could I just use that rather than go through uninstall/reinstall?
Thanks for all your efforts!

Yes, as long as it's clean & unmodded.
Oh, BTW it's not a requirement to download GWX, just to properly install it.;)

Merged Campaign:
This is the main Atlantic, Black Sea & Indian Ocean campaigns merged into one. So if you don't mind the extra loading time you can use this mod. Otherwise, if you transfer to the Black Sea or Indian Ocean, you must enable to relevant optional mod after you have transfered.

Regarding the "Enhanced damage Effects"
In artillery training mision when I shoot at a ship there are huge explosions from just 2-3 shells and the game freezes shortly and I am forced to end the game.
Is this normal?
After I removed the mod the game works, but now there are very few fireworks. In my first patrol I sank a large thanker, but when the torpedo hit there was only a small fire and some smoke, no explosion. The same thing with other ships.

I have just downloaded the 7 bin files and exe file for GWX 2.0
I have 2 questions:
Create a fresh/brand new installation of GWX patched to version 1.4b
I assume it is meant to create a new install of Silent Hunter III.
Users can verify GWX 2.0 file integrity with the following MD5 hash if they so choose:
I wish to verify the integrity of my downloaded files, but I don't know how to do it; like what is MD5 hash and how do I get them?

Hi RobJ250,
I thought you didn't love us anymore!;)
To answer your questions:
1) MD5 hash is basically an ID code that allows you to verify the integrity of a file.
2) For detailed instructions on where to find a free MD5 checker tool and how to perform the MD5 verification... just click on "GWX Home Page" beneath my signature and go to the FAQ page... Its all there mate.

I understand there was no difference between VIIC and VIIC/41 in SH3. But if I'm not mistaken, the VIIC/41 should be able to dive deeper (and perhaps some other minor differences). Are these problems fixed, i.e. is there now some difference between those two boats?

I seem to have problems. I done a complete new install of Silent Hunter III and upgraded to 1.04. I changed SH3 Commander 2.7 with the file I was supposed to use (It was just a copy and paste). However I got errors when I installed GWX 2.0
Here are the errors:
DEBUG: Test 1 PASSED
DEBUG: Test 2 PASSED Version is 1.4.0.1
DEBUG: Test 3 PASSED
DEBUG: Test 4 FAILED Size is 7974981
DEBUG: Test 5 FAILED Size is 70200
DEBUG: Test 6 Seems to have PASSED IF Size is not Zero - Size is 1134792
At least one of the tests failed
What happened?
EDIT: Disregard. I started over and there were no problems. Great.

Okay, now I know how to answer your question.
In GWX 2.0 we implemented an included optional mod that changes the appearance of the player U-boat to be that of a Type VIIC/41. Just double-click the JSGME icon that GWX 2.0 installs on your desktop to view and enable the Type VIIC/41 player U-boat 3D model.
To get the deeper-diving physics changes you will need to use the SH3 commander utility and read the directions associated with that application. Without using SH3 Commander, the optional VIIC/41 3D model in GWX 2.0 will perform exactly as a standard Type VIIC.
So yes, assuming that you use the SH3 Commander application, you can have your cake and eat it too.
You can find and DL the SH3 Commander program here: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products.html

Remember, aircraft were the bane of the U-boat. You may have some limited success against them... but it will usually come at a price... and you just don't have enough ammunition to fight them in a sustained fashion.
If you detect them... you should be crash diving ten seconds ago. Happy hunting!!:arrgh!:

However, I do have a couple of questions. Is it possible to disable the slideout gauges, and chronometer, as these really bug me when I move the mouse to the side of the screen? Also, can the extra conversion and mine charts be removed from the map screen, as I'm not keen on these either?
Otherwise, I'm loving the work.

But I really miss my U mark. You know that little orange whatsit that shows where you are when you have dived. Its still there in the Data/Misc file but its does not show upo in the game. I would really like to know where my bows are during an attack (or during an evasion manouvre for that point)

Beautiful work here and I am most grateful for the countless hours put in by the GWX volounteers! I am only now beginning to familiarize myself with all the changes.
There are a couple of things that I would like to go back to as I had them before but I don't remember how to do it!
1. I would like to put the "tail" back on the map sub icon but I don't remember how.
2. I would like to turn off the background music and leave the gramophone music alone but again I don't remember how. When I moved all the background music to a renamed folder, the game crashed to the desktop right at "Not so long ago....". When I restored it to the original sound folder, it started normally.:hmm:
Thanks for all the good work!

Thank you! Possibly also a way to stop the rotation of the ring antenna on the bridge? Sometimes I just watch the sea and the sky from the bridge and I would just as soon not have the distraction of the rotating antenna.:)

I just completed the downloads, and now begins the (for me) arduous task of uninstalling the "old" and anxiously installing the "new". I can't wait to see the changes.
I'm one of the old school developers who practiced the art of programming long before the Internet and any form of email, so I guess that makes me a dinosaur of sorts. That means I can't truely appreciate the level of effort, but I know it didn't come without the tears and love required to create something of this complexity. If there are "bugs", I for one promise only to praise the effort and make no complaint. The donation was a nice touch - we can never give enough to repay Neal for his services, but I'm glad for the opportunity to help a little.
GWX 1.0 has been my only addiction since it's release, and SHIII before that. I love this game/sim, and appreciate the craft you all have put into it. I only hope your families still talk to you after all the time you spent on it.
Many, many thanks, on behalf of the GWX user community, including the ingrates, bitchers, and cheats. In their own way I'm sure they appreciate your efforts too. And now, I prepare to depart on a new campaign - watch for small wakes!

Hi
I've been working at this all afternoon and I cannot get GEX 2.0 to load. This is as far as it gets:
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/3043/gwx20we0.th.jpg (http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gwx20we0.jpg)
Also, if I get it working, should I use the 16 atmosphere, because my screen at night is dark because of my monitor.
Rob
How long did you wait mate...I'm hearing of folks saying 7-10 minutes at that screen (especially the first time you run it)....being experienced:hmm:
As for your monitor, try bumping up your gamma setting in advanced settings...that should lighten things up for ya. The 16K mod just extends your visual range I think...and also allows you to take the external cam up higher...(better take that one to the GWX team for clarification?)

I seem to have problems. I done a complete new install of Silent Hunter III and upgraded to 1.04. I changed SH3 Commander 2.7 with the file I was supposed to use (It was just a copy and paste). However I got errors when I installed GWX 2.0
Here are the errors:
DEBUG: Test 1 PASSED
DEBUG: Test 2 PASSED Version is 1.4.0.1
DEBUG: Test 3 PASSED
DEBUG: Test 4 FAILED Size is 7974981
DEBUG: Test 5 FAILED Size is 70200
DEBUG: Test 6 Seems to have PASSED IF Size is not Zero - Size is 1134792
At least one of the tests failed
What happened?
EDIT: Disregard. I started over and there were no problems. Great.
Rob
robj, I think I can help with that. It looks like you did what I did and tried to download the .bin files all at once.
Numbers 4 and 5 correspond to those .bin files
So all you need to do it download numbers 4 and 5 again and run the setup. Hope this helps!
<EDIT> Whoops, didnt see the edit. Ahwell, its here for future reference just incase XD

Dec 16 is here, you can download GWX 2.0 here (http://www.subsim.com/subsim_files/gwx_donation1207.php#free).
To Kpt. Lehmann, privateer, jimbuna, ref, Pen, Danlisa, and all the GWX team: Let me express my appreciation again for what you've done. Over 130 people donated for GWX 2.0 and not only will I not have to worry about the costs of running the website for most of the year, I've had additional RAM added to the forum server. Also, I've sent a Subsim Xmas gift to our key forum moderators, and I made it clear that GWX made it possible. These are the kind of things that make a place like Subsim click, thanks for that.
To all who donated: Thank you. Thank...you. What a great community.

Thanks for the welcome jimbuna, I have one quick question. I havnt played SH3 since SH4 came out but i was wondering. Did GWX scale down the time compression to a max of 1024x and if it did is there anyway i can change this to a higher setting or to the original of 4096 i believe was the original? Thank you
KeptinCranky
12-16-07, 04:35 AM
GWX does not affect TC settings, the original maximum was 1024x but you can use SH3 commander to tweak TC settings to your liking.

I finally got GWX2.0 working and I start out on my first patrol.
It is 0346 and in the external view so I can take a vid, I can't even see my U-boat it is so dark.
I know my monitor was a little bit darker than the other guys, but at that time in the morning I still could see my sub using the "vanilla" SH3. I even think I was able to see my sub at night when using TGW (I think - can't remember, it's been so long ago).
I hope there is going to be a fix for this, cause there is not much use of me playing GWX 2.0 when I can't even see at night.
Yes, I have adjusted my monitor and video card upgrades so I can get the best view as possible.
Also I read somewhere that you're are coming out with a "tail" fix?
Can someone do something about the darkness in GWX 2.0? Please.
I have a Seanix System.

I'd like to keep my vanilla SH3 and GWX 1.03 (installed via MultiSH3) for the time being. I presume I would simply follow the same procedure with MultiSH3 for adding GWX 2.0 to the mix?

I got GWX 2.0 downloaded and it is awesome!!! I loved looking at the floating dry docks for some reason. Very cool. I don't remember where I read this, but it was earlier in the week. Someone had mentioned that the British subs in the Museum explode when viewing them. It seemed like some experienced this while some did not. Anyway, I can confirm I do experience this. It appears that it is a single explosion near the rear of the sub. I doesn't seem to happen again unless you click another object in the Museum and then go back to a British sub. I took a couple of screenshots. If this issues has already been addressed, I apologize. I haven't seen it anywhere. I am running a virgin install of SH3 with 1.4b and GWX 2. I am only using some optional mods included with GWX 2. They are:
Alternative Load Screen
English Nav Map & Grid Refs
Enhanced Damage Effects
No Medals on Crew
Das Boot main movie
Merged Campaign
16km Atmosphere
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/Syxx_Killer/SClass.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/Syxx_Killer/TClass.jpg
Also, does it seem like an excessive amount of bubbles with these subs? It almost reminds me of a sinking sub.
bigboywooly

Only happens in the museum
The museum is odd - doesnt show reflections either
Altering the museum cfg to show the subs at a lesser depth makes no difference
The explosion is due to the fact that the subs are submerged and the damage model is for a surfaced unit

Nope
You CAN edit to show the subs surfaced but the game still shows them submerged
Anyway the file is

I tried that and found that the GWX 2.0 had gone into my other TWG and GWX 1.3
So I had to move the other programes made by the GWX teams onto another drive that doesn't start with Program Files.
It didn't bother my SH3 so I was lucky there.

Hi
First of all a big thank you for your work you have done. its simply impressing. i just had a small look on gwx2, so i cant say more :)
Ive a small question: There is no "bow splash"-sound available to me. Thats the sound when your bow dives into the water and comes back to surface. I guess its called "Wave bad weather"-sound in the sound folder, because when playing the un-modded SH3 its there and sounds equal.
How to get back that sound in gwx2.0? Or is it just the volume you lowered so I cant hear that sound anymore?

I would hope that before you started loading anything, that you went to MS's website, and got ALL the critical updates?
other than that, I just followed the directions...and had no problems.
