Fresh from the disappointment of the Newcastle v Man City match tonight (and it is only half time atm) I reckon we could use a thread like this for our boasts as well as our moans and groans.
Let's keep it open to any division but most importantly participate and enjoy.

Premiership-Man City
Championship-QPR
League 1-Wolves

Back on last nights game:
What a crock of crap, never really expected anything other than a lucky draw at best but certainly not the 4-0 drubbing.
I want a job like Kinnear, he reckons he knows everyone in football and every phone call from him will be answered yet he's failed to arrange even one permanent transfer this season...Pardew must be feeling a little let down and rightly so.
Now as for Wenger offering £10 million for Cabaye on the eve of Newcastles first match of the season, at first I was annoyed but on second thoughts I realised it is the transfer season and anytime is acceptable.
Word has it Cabaye wants to talk to Arsenal and who can blame him especially when looking at the lack of new players at Newcastle...I only hope the club hold out for a lot more but I suspect £12 million or so will be enough to tempt Ashley to line his pockets.
I fear even at this early stage of the season, the future is looking very bleak for the TOON.

I'm not a hardcore toonie, Newcastle is that team I follow most and are most happy about when they win and no, no suicide feelings when they loose. Just a heck there a new game next week.
So they are a kind of favorit to me

I hope this is not a hijack, but how many divisions do you guys have, and are they all considered professional?
What is the difference, and is one more popular while another division is kinda laughed at?
Back in the day, with American football, what you may call gridiron, we had an AFL league and an NFL league, they ended up combining due to competition with players, and the fans wanted to see which league was best. (The first championship game was called the Super Bowl)
Do you have your version of a super bowl?
Is there any kind of system to see who is truly the beast of the Isles over there?
I like the sport, they show EPL (Mostly Man U, they jock them good:hmmm:) games here. I just do not understand the divisions and how they work for you guys.
I see that one of my favorit have played a draw today. Hopefully it will be better in this season

That was a dour game by all accounts. The Irons were just as dismal as the Toon. I heard West Ham are searching for a top 10 spot this year. They will need to play better than that to do so.

Yeah but then Pardew had a fit. ("OMG they are trying to buy a player, how disrespectful!") When did making a bid during the transfer window become disrespectful?
Maybe he was just talking about Wenger's offer... that man seems to think inflation is a myth and still offers 1990's fees.

Nice draw haven't been to St James Park since January 2004 when a certain Alan Shearer scored the only goal of the game. But having said that was the last these two teams met in a competitive match.

I don't disagree but I think Pardew was talking a bit of both.
Cabaye still has three years on his contract so I expect he'll go to Arsenal nearer the end of the transfer deadline for maybe £15 million.

Here's a question about betting or something that's a sort of.
In Denmark and Sweden we called it Tips
Here's a page from the Swedish play(=svenska Spel)
What you see is Stryktipset. It is in Swedish but look at the coupon
It's for next week(36) playround
Match 1 is: Bradford Vs Brentford
Match 2 is: Brist C Vs Shrewb.
and so on until match 13
You must find the correct sign(sorry I don't know the correct words Here we called it tegn=sign). Said in a long story, you have to find out if it's a home win(1) a draw(x) or a guest win(2) in every of these 13 matches.
https://svenskaspel.se/?pageid=/sport/stryktipset
I know I have asked about this before in one of our old NFL-thread, but I can't remember getting any answer to it( I can't find this thread)
We have lots of betting here to. We called it Oddset
Ohh by the way-my team won today-Hurray

Chelsea's Van Ginkel is out for 6-9 months, which is great news for Mata.
He'll have someone to chat to in the stands.
Here's a special story, I must share with you. It was one of my neighbor and later a good friend.
He was about 45 years when I met him first time.
Every summer he always traveled to a few places in Sweden
(ÖLand and Gotland) and Kalvehave in Denmark.
This summer though, he had decided to take a trip to Italy. His parents was Catholic(If I remember correctly)
On the first Sunday at breakfast he was sitting on a café, he asked the owner what the Italian did on a Sunday.
They go to church, the owner said
All the day
OH no, after that they go and watch football.
My friend asked him if there was any game going on in this town and he was told that there was a top match between x and y(can't remember what team)
He went to this game bought a ticket, found his place and, as he said, felt the atmosphere it was incredible.
One of the team scored. My friend jumped up and yelling and clapping after a while he saw the other looked at him with angry eyes.
He sad down again very silent. Then his neighbor sidding beside him, asked him if he was from outside Italy and if he had any knowledge about football and especially Italian football. My friend said he was from Sweden and he had no knowledge about football and Italian ditto.
After a while he had a lot of supporter-stuff from the other spectators around him and they told him how football was played and so on.
After the football match he and his new found friends went to some pub and had some beers.
When he told me this story in the mid of the 80'ies(yep I remember it somehow very well) I said to him. :o You was very lucky my friend. The Italian takes football very serious and especially their favorite team.
But I'm glad that you got some Italian friends

When it comes to football I have a few remarkable stories I remember. Here's another one.
This one was told by som student at lunch In the vocational school I went to.
We were talking about English football when he told us this story
" I won a trip to watch a top game in the English first division(that was the name at that time) The trip was to be over the weekend, depart from home Friday afternoon and home again Sunday at noon(I'm not sure here)
OK I won a trip to England, and I won a two night in a 4 star hotel and I won a free ticket to this football match but that's all.
He looked at us and continued...
Did you know where I was placed ?
We all shaked our heads
I was placed on the first row right behind one of the goalies. There I sat a whole game. OK the atmosphere was fantastic but that was all about it."
So now when some betting or other companies is giving us a chance to win at trip to see a match in England I ALWAYS write to them and ask where the winner will be placed-where his/her seat is.
OH by the way.
He said following
If I had known this I had given away the ticket to some other fan of that football team and I had tried to get a better ticket to some other football match in that area.
This story was told to us about 95-96, but when his travel to england was I don't know or remember.
I don't know whether the story is true or not I just share it with you.

Could well be...it was great seeing Hodgson once again picking an attacking team...not that he had much choice.
Well I'm not seeing a stellar future for our mob. two 6-0 drubbings by Brazil then France saw off our imported coach and there appears to be some friction within the team with Lucas Neill making some very strange comments about the younger members having to step up.
