Crash (2004)

Over a thirty-six hour period in Los Angeles, a handful of disparate people's lives intertwine as they deal with the tense race relations that belie life in the city. Every time I watch one of these movies there's always a cover up by the United States government, they always assume that everyone else is as thick as a brick, and they always believe they know what's best for planet earth, well here's the kicker, They Don't.
If the government of the day released such information into the wild I'm sure the human race as a whole would benefit from it, but No, they mistakenly believe that their scientists are the best there is, excuse me while I go throw up again. Maybe it's not the governments fault after all, but the person\s who wrote this bollocks in the first place, it's my opinion that such retards need a couple or three smacks to the head with a baseball bat to knock some sense into them.

I was going to give this movie a low rating but, the inclusion of Gillian Anderson and Ella Purnell saved it from the depths of mediocrity.

I'm just about completely pissed off with all these ripoff films of "A Quiet Place" it wasn't a great film in the first place and re-hashing the genre only brings it's rating down lower and lower. Why is it that the script writers always deem it necessary to have someone in the film who has a serious health problem?, it's complete uncreative bollocks and it needs to stop like 20 years ago. These Hollywood idiots have lost all their creativity since the movie studios went all Woke bollocks on the majority of the population, and if they can't, or wont, change their ways then they deserve to go bust.

Movie Rating 4.5\10.

The lowest rung of average, it's a good job Morena Baccarin was in this film or it would have got 4\10. Morena might be knocking on in years now but I still remember her as that alien hottie Anna from V, and what a lovely piece of crumpet she was.

Not My Review.

The film 44 minutes of terror tells the story of two robbers and takes a look back at the tragedy of February 28, 1997, heavily armed against the American police during the shooting in North Hollywood. The two robbers are called Larry Philips junior and Émile, they have attempted to rob a bank both died but fortunately without causing any casualties only a few injured after the shooting the police were rewarded thanks to their courage face to face with the 2 robbers this bank robbery which went wrong shocked the whole of America conclusion of the film the film is very well paced wonderful drama the actors play their roles well and do it intelligently and the story holds up until the end so this film is a tribute to you I recommend this film I rate it 20 out of 20 buy this DVD you will not regret it thank you.

This erratically plotted and scripted film totally pissed me off, the script writers have probably never been in that area of the world before and that's why this film is not only bad, it's complete and utter bleeding garbage, written by two idiots who don't know the difference between their elbow and their ass.

First broadcasted on german tv a few days ago, was astonishingly good. Not Disney nor Hollywood, still short-paced action, never lame and a good story.

To qote one comment:
"Good cast.

Sands of Oblivion (2007)

In 1923 legendary film director Cecil B. DeMille finished the epic film _Ten Commandments. After filming was completed, he bulldozed the sets into the Guadalupe Sand Dunes of the central California coast, his reasons for doing so were very mysterious. This story gives an explanation as to why he did it. There was actually a legitimate Egyptian artifact amongst the props but they didn't know which one was trapping the spirit of an Egyptian avenging god. Mysterious murders and accidents while making the film brings things back to the surface today and it starts all over again.

An awful Sci-Fi Original Movie. The special effects are horrible, the extras in the opening sequence all look to be lifeless hobos found on the streets of LA, and the story is not interesting. What a waste of the talents of the gorgeous Morena Baccarin. :down:.

Bloody hell fire, even to Hollywoods sub par standards this movie hit the spot you didn't want it to hit, that's right folks, right in the balls.
Aliens are called 'The Others' by the humans who are survivors, whoever came up with that name deserves to be hung, drawn and quartered, bloody Nora, isn't their any originality left in that decadent cesspit they call Hollywood anymore.
Don't expect to see anything that looks alien or has great special effects or anything spectacular, the only CGI you will see in this movie is of an alien ship hanging in the air. All in all, it's probably the worst alien invasion movie I've seen since some cheap and silly 50s and 60s stuff, I couldn't wait for this garbage to end.

I never did like these type of films, perhaps it's because we haven't got any criminals who have the brains to pull something like this off. Then there's the fact that you can't just drive away and disappear in England like you can do in the USA. Jude Law put in a good performance as the FBI man but, the real star of the show was Nicholas Hoult as Bob, if he'd had a few more brains and moved out of the area to pastures new after every robbery, he might never have been caught.

Not a bad "Steampunk" retelling of the classic Jules Verne story. Great cast, especially Ben Cross as the bitter Captain Nemo.

This is one hell of a movie from about 100 years ago. A bit slow at the start, but it picks up pace :) and then it's "cast of 1000s" epic battle scene.

However the dialogue screens flash past too quick. It originally was 1 hour long ??? so a lot of action must be missing :wah:

Almost 3 hours long, it was mildly entertaining at the start but that didn't last long, if it happened in real life and an advanced AI became self aware no one could predict what it would do next. Those computer nerds wouldn't have a clue how to deal with it and neither would the military top brass. However, this is Hollywoods version of a super consciousness which quite frankly is a load of bollocks, yep, humans always have to win no matter what and that sums up Hollywood, completely bleeding clueless.

Not My Review

The Gorge is the kind of movie that hooks you in with a solid mystery-thriller-romance setup, only to fumble the ball when it matters most. The first half actually works. There's a strong intrigue surrounding the characters, the suspense feels tangible, and the slow-burn tension keeps you invested. The whole anticipation of their connection is arguably more engaging than the actual payoff, but it's still handled well enough. The creature designs are fantastic. The film has some nice visuals, too. There's this eerie atmosphere with rain, lightning, and fog that adds a lot to the mood. It also blends genres in an interesting way, blending horror, sci-fi, and thriller elements while keeping romance at its core. And yeah, you can see clear pulls from Aliens, Annihilation, and even fun little winks to Whiplash and The Queen's Gambit, which is a nice touch. But as the film starts revealing its cards, it gets increasingly clunky. Some of the plotting feels forced, and there's this overkill of familiar tropes that makes things predictable. The dialogue, which was already nothing special, really dries up in the second half, leaving a lot of moments feeling hollow.

Anya Taylor-Joy, unsurprisingly, delivers. She's got that natural screen presence that makes any role more engaging. Miles Teller is decent, too, and their chemistry is okay but nothing extraordinary. The problem is, as soon as the mystery starts unravelling, the story just kind of deflates. There's a point where you can feel the movie losing its grip as if it doesn't know how to maintain the intrigue it worked so hard to build. The tension fades, the pacing gets sluggish, and by the time it reaches the ending, it's clear the film just doesn't stick the landing. The final moment is pretty bad. It's a shame because the movie had something going. It had cool ideas, solid visuals, and a unique mix of genres. But by the end, it's like watching a magic trick where the setup is great, but the reveal is just... disappointing. A solid start, a frustrating fall, and an ending that leaves you feeling like you sat through something that could've been a lot better.

This film looked promising with Sigourney Weaver and Anya Taylor Joy batting it for the girls but, even their presence in this film couldn't lift it above an average movie. It was a shame that a bit more creativity wasn't applied by the Screenwriters, instead we got the boring old Super Soldier bollocks scenarios Hollywood love to churn out. These idiots dropped the ball with this film and if they hadn't dropped it they could have had a more than decent film on their hands.

Hollywood eh, they couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery.

I watched the Operation Seawolf (2022) and it is probably worst movie about WW2 submarines I have seen. Many things didnt make sense or are total nonsense (like mission objective: launch V1 missiles from Type IXC uboats against US cities). Ending scene doesnt make sense and people die there for nothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Another frustratingly mediocre MCU film, It had no high points but plenty of low ones. All throughout the film I was ready to turn this bleeding rubbish off, but sadly I made it to the end of it. I could have come up with a better version of this film and it had 5 Hollywood screen writers working on it, too many cooks spoils the broth and this garbage must have emptied the kitchen.
I have to give this junk a rating and its a pretty bad one, not just because of too much CGI, but because of a plot that couldn't raise itself above my knees.

The film delivers nothing new. Silent Zone is not the kind of film that’s going to redefine the post-apocalyptic horror genre. It does enough right to keep you watching but It’s also one of those movies that doesn’t try to be flashy or ground breaking. It instead leans into the tension and grit of survival—and for the most part, it works. The script will make you want to slam your head off a brick wall, I'm pretty sure the writer stole part of the plot from Z Nation, I could be wrong but I'm sure I've seen part of this film before.

"Barry Lyndon" - A visually stunning movie.......but very slow paced. Probably only appreciated by History buffs.

A young guy falls in love with his cousin :) , gets set up, joins the Army, has heaps of adventures...War, espionage, etc....and at the end is back where he started....

"Pyramid Song" - Radiohead. Not from the movie.

best picture winner Academy Awards 2025

saw it yesterday on Prime with my wife, she was really looking forward to it, but we were both disappointed. It was OK, but not sure what the fuss is about or why it was deemed the best picture of the year. Story was run of the mill, a variation on similar stories we have seen before. Acting was ok, but not earth shattering. I thought "Conclave" or even "Dune: Part Two" were much better movies.

I saw The Tomorrow War yesterday and I'm divided shall I give it 5 or 6 stars out of 10 ?

The idea of where these creature came from was new to me.

Would I recommend it ? If you like good action movies then watch it.

^Its one of those movies I wanted to like but it failed to hit a home run like films such as Edge of Tomorrow for me. In the latter film they gave the soldiers upgraded armour and weapons and they still got their butts kicked, while in The Tomorrow War they sent them into battle using the same weapons as the 1990s knowing there wasn't a snowballs chance in hell of winning.

This movie brings nothing extra to the table and that is its downfall, its nothing but a seat filler and a poor one at that, why there wasn't any weapon creativity in this film is beyond me. They spent time enough to make a time travel device but absolutely nothing on weapons that at least would have given the time travellers a shot at winning any encounters.

This movie is for children and not for adults, that's why critics and adults can't get their heads around it, all adults should take a back seat and just shut up and, I'll guarantee that any children who watch it will enjoy the hell out of it. Gadot and Zegler are not a leading lady, nor are they a queen or a fairy princess either, in fact they should never have been in this movie in the first place but, that's another story. All in all the three kids I watched it with went home to their mother as happy as larks.

Finally I got the chance to watch the movie Civil War from 2024 and the movie start slow but gain action as the movie moves on.

At IMDB the movie get 7 out of 10 stars and I say it is well deserved

I went in with low expectations and boy did Nic Cage and the rest of the cast deliver. If you want to know more about this film you'll have to watch it just like I had to do.

I think this is a very good film. The subtitles are a bit "wtf??" but it's easy to follow....there's no mystery as to who's who.

Over 2 hours of nail-biting tension. Great actors, acting, script, international incidents, very professional military, moral dilemmas galore, panic buying, overworked shop staff ( poor buggers ) , Christmas, nosy/nosey reporters....all the elements for a superb movie.

9/10 ...1 point off for...no sod it...10/10.

This movie was piss poor even by Hollywood's standards, I'm not going to tell you not to watch it, but if you do you have only yourself to blame. I'm fed up of watching characters who couldn't hit a barn door from fifty yards away with a sniper rifle, what's the point of having a bloody weapon if they can't even use it. Cannon fodder actors doesn't make the hero look good, it just leaves a nauseating stench around the whole damn movie.
