Just watched The First Omen, talk about a long drawn out movie. They could have cut it down to 30 minutes and still have the whole story.
At IMDB it got 6.5 out of 10.

I'll give it 4 and then I'm nice.

A damn fine retelling of the classic "Jason and the Argonauts" story. At nearly 3 hours long it's a bit overwhelming, but the costumes, casting, sets and locations, music too, is all top notch.

Good to see hoplites fighting in formation, and using overarm spear fighting. The cast and crew did a fine job. :o

No film trailer with this one as it shows too much of the films action scenes, I don't know why they did that as it was a really stupid decision. There was no backstory to any of the characters and the same goes for the film as well. Anyway when somethings trying to kill you, you're not going to be shouting to the director that you haven't got a bleeding backstory are you. :O:

At last, we're going to find out how it all started and how the humans learned that it's sound that'll get them killed, No we don't, the Silly Bitch gets knocked out and when she wakes up someone slaps an hand over her mouth and puts a finger to their mouth, yeah. I thought the whole point of the "A Quiet Place: Day One" film was to relay the message to everyone to stay quiet or else.

If that wasn't stupid enough for you the Silly Bitch then decides to go to Harlem to get a pizza, what?, hundreds of murderous aliens killing everyone who makes a sound and she wants to get a pizza from Harlem, who wrote this bollocks a bleeding 10 year old?.
I'll not spoil all the film for you because this crap just goes on and on, one thing I must mention though is the cat, this is not any old cat, this one has an inbuilt radar system in it that keeps finding it's human, the cat doesn't run off at the first sign of danger never to be seen again, No, this one stays around to witness all the killing.

And that's where it's got us beat, the cat might have seen the tearing of limbs from bodies, but we humans don't see any of that, in fact I've seen more blood at my grandma's sewing club. I'd like to say that they cut all that blood and guts out, but, they didn't, because there was never any in it to begin with.
The movie makers and screenwriters, must have thought that it would interfere with the Woke message that they were sending out to all the Gen Z idiots. Grrrrrr.

This movie just wasn't my cup of tea, many, many cinema goers will tell you it's brilliant, or even better than brilliant, and some would say it was OK or even say it was crap, so you'll have to watch it yourselves and come up with your own answer.

I have to compare this movie against the other Deadpool films and I would say it was the worst of the three, with Deadpool one being the runner up and Deadpool two being the best one. The inclusion of Domino in Deadpool 2 was a masterstroke, whoever came up with that character deserved a bloody Oscar, Deadpool & Wolverine needed such a character and the omission of Domino let the film down badly.

There was nothing wrong with the actors, it was the script that let the film down, mainly everything to do with the main villain, the actress did her part splendidly even though she wasn't given much to play with, maybe if they had rewrote her part they could have come up with a villain that sent shivers down the spine, but they didn't and she ended up being a forgettable run of the mill baddie.

Cockneys vs Zombies (2012) This British movie is about a group of inept criminals who decide to rob a bank so they can save their grandfather's retirement home from being demolished by developers. Meanwhile on another building site some workers dig up an old graveyard and they get bitten by the "undead" which sets off a chain reaction. Then the bank robbers are cornered by the police while in the process of the robbery, but when they exit they find that they are all dead as a result of the horde of zombies. They have to get to the retirement home before the zombies do!

This film was so bad that it was more watchable than some of the garbage that Hollywood is spewing out these days, crikey, I must be going nuts in me old age, the strange thing about this film was that two of my favourite actresses of all time were in it and they were older than I am back in 2012, bless em.

A great film about National Service and the dying days of the British Empire. It wasn't all bad.

Some wonderful characters....Juicy Lucy, and F Yew. Tsai Chin ( Lucy ) had a prolific career in film, tv, live theatre, and music. She was a Bond Girl, and tragically lost her parents in the "Cultural Revolution" ( violently murdered ) in Red China.

I like this movie and the follow up one. The British Empire wasn't all bad.

This movie is your typical Hollywood spy drama done on a shoestring budget, the low reviews didn't bother me as I am convinced that Halle Berry's tits are worth at least a 5\10, as for Mark Wahlberg, he didn't even register a 1, he's a typical smarmy American actor who should have been booted out of Hollywood at least 20 years ago.

I'm sure it had some entertaining value in it somewhere, but I can't remember any, a typical action scene was treasonous agent putting gun to Halle's head and telling good guy agent to drop his gun, (Halle said shoot him, I said smoke his ass) but the script said put the gun down, holy crap I said, this film is bleeding rubbish, my computer screen almost got kicked through the door.
Halle Berry is one Hot middle aged lady and she's always been a good actress (except for that Cat Woman film), but in this movie she was badly miscast, she couldn't make this film rise above average and that's mostly the vomit inducing scripts fault, so that's it, a good actress, crap actors and a poor script, you don't need the money Halle so learn to pick and choose your roles you daft bat.

I had great hopes for this film as one of my favourite hotties was in the lead role, Nathalie Emmanuel hasn't been given a decent part since (Game of Thrones), well (Army of Thieves) wasn't too bad but everything else has been a bit iffy. I haven't seen the film (The Invitation) (2022) yet so I shouldn't have really made that remark, oh well nevermind.

Bollocks, the Queen of the Dead couldn't hit a barn door from 30 paces to save her bleeding life, this hitwoman is no John Wick clone I quickly realised, these film hitmen\women are usually incredibly brilliant with one shot kills but, they made Nathalie so piss poor I wondered if she could hit the toilet bowl when she sat on it. To get a reputation like the Queen of the Dead she had to be practically invisible and deadly, sadly, Nathalie wasn't either of them, not her fault btw, that's the scripts fault and the directors.

All in all it wasn't too bad, a blind as a bat hitwoman going through a change of heart with her latest assignment, what could possibly go wrong with that scenario, yes, exactly. I think if they gave Nathalie a John Wick role I reckon she would excel in it, she was alright in this movie but, put her in a role where she is deadly efficient and she would be in her element.

Almost the top end of average, if only the script and the director had the slightest bit of vision they could have made a film to rival a John Wick movie, the bloody plonkers.

The Italian movie industry before WW1 brought out quite a few "bigger than Ben Hur" type historical movies....and they're not bad either :)

There's also a 1932 very early Cary Grant movie of "Madam Butterfly" that I wanted to post....it's bloody good. It's the story and not the opera, but the youtube comments put me right off....."Yellowface" "Racist" "Why didn't they use Asian actors" "Racial stereotyping" etc.....you get the drift. For the cast alone it should get a seven out of ten but, I can't be that generous with this film, all I'm going to say is watch this if you want to but, you're only going to waste time that you'll never get back if you do so.

Tilda Swinton as a Scottish Samurai was awesome, and Selena Gomez looked good enough to eat as well, it was a shame they were both hardly used, the Bill Murray effect kicked in but it wasn't enough to put this on my watch list again.

I cannot understand the good ratings and reviews this film has received. I suspect that these reviewers are being paid to give it a high rating.

Don't waste your money on this bleeding rubbish, it's a whole lot of cheesy dialogue and the acting was straight out of a B Movie. The storm expert was not old enough to know the difference between an EF0 and a UFO never mind having the brains to stop a tornado in it's tracks.
The tornado wrangler smarmy git and a storm expert who has a tornado sixth sense put paid to any idea that this film was going to get a good rating.

A great acting performance from everyone in the cast especially Alisha Weir who gave an excellent performance for one so young. It’s a silly, gory horror flick that takes a while to get going and drags in spots but delivers enough zany fun to appease fans of the genre. There's a few great lines in this movie, and the dialogue isn't too bad either. If you like an horror movie once in a while this film should float your boat.

This movie should never have been made, compared to the first Beetlejuice film it's just not in the same ball park, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Jenna Ortega and Catherine Ohara were great, but, that script was a huge bleeding let down.
There was no need to have William Dafoe or Monica Bellucci in the film as it would have come to it's natural ending without them, "Too Many Cooks spoil The Broth", as in too many storylines and not enough substance.

Well bugger me!, this turned out to be quite a good film, who doesn't like a magic trick eh, I wondered what the aim of the film was as you can get bored watching just magic tricks all the time, but it's revealed a bit later on that it's a revenge mission for some one who wanted to right some past wrongs done to their family.
It was well thought out and the actors and actresses played their parts well, the script was very good too which was a surprise, I'm not going to say anymore as I don't want to reveal how any of the magic tricks were done, and I'm not revealing the ending either as that would spoil the film.

Movie Rating, 6.5\10.

A family entertainment film with none of that Woke Disney nonsense, well I didn't see any.

If this film was made nowadays there's a 100% chance that it'll get criticised for being sexist, violent and profane by snowflakes, feminists and woke idiots alike. Back in the day, the films had as many plot holes and nonsensical scenes as today's ones have so there hasn't been any improvements there then. The movie needed fleshing out a lot more around the criminals and some of the totty, and that bomb plot needed removing altogether.

You don't get the chance to watch an American female hero from 1926 beat the patriarchal system and, when you do, you can just sit back in awe and marvel at her achievement. Acting was pretty good from everyone, especially Daisy Ridley, the script was nothing to write home about as you'd expect, but rising above all of that is the achievement of Trudy Ederle being the first female to swim across the English Channel.

If this movie was just a Hollywood load of bollocks it would only have got 5\10 but, the historical significance of the film puts it in it's rightful place.

I'll be as impartial as I can about this film, because quiet frankly the story was crap and most of the characters were too and this is where the film ultimately fails. The main characters give you little to no reason to care about them because they aren't likable at all, (I also couldn't tell you the antagonist's character name because that's how little I cared). When the film finally kicks in to action there's blood all over the place, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the script is abysmal, all in all, this film remake should never had been made.

The review below is not mine but it fits the film perfectly.

This is an Australian suspense thriller about a mathematician, Jim Doyle, who develops a new theory based on chaos analysis that will enable a user to predict just about anything. A senior banking executive, Simon O'Reilly, gets a hold of the news and hires Jim to work for them, to develop a system that will predict financial markets.

Jim is altruistic - he wants to predict market collapses so that regular people can react in time. Simon sees a way to get rich. Simon is also one of those Gordan Gecko types who sees himself as part of the new feudal lords of capitalism, a member of the elite whose duty he sees as crushing the opposition.

This is a pretty clever film and I want to be careful not to give away the ending. You can sort of see it coming, but the actor playing Jim, David Wenham, is so under control that he doesn't give away a thing.

Short on elaborate production values, but the story and the acting make this film exciting and one I'd recommend.

This Is Not My Review.

Where to start with Thor? This movie tries to cover a weak plot with an overwhelming amount of CGI. The dialogue is all over the place. It tries to mix epic dialogue with MCU humor, which just does not work. The whole movie is just a mix of terrible dialogue and flashy CGI. Thor himself is a flat character. I found my friend Barley even wanting to root for him just because of how much of a dick he is. The Asgard CGI is the best thing that comes out for this movie, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin was great. The villains in this movie were absolutely trash. The Frost Giants basically did nothing the whole movie, and the Loki reveal was so expected. The giant metal thing was cool, I guess, but I feel like I have seen it before. I didn't like how long the big CGI monstrocity went on, and the color grading of the town was super ugly. I'm honestly shocked this thing has a 79% on rotten tomatoes. Compared to movies like The Dark Knight or Iron Man, Thor is just embarrassing. The villains are super forgettable; Loki did not become a good villain until Avengers. It might seem that I am hating on this movie, but I mentioned the positives on my main account. I found some of the jokes funny. The plot was interesting at times, and Odin was great. If you're looking for a superhero with epic world-building, character development, and emotional depth, then just watch Guardians of the Galaxy.
