Well yes, it's explained, but I still don't get it.

Seems like you want me to download TDW SH5Patcher and extract it to the desktop. If I start it the only prompt I immediately get is language which I set to English. The only other option I now have is to file -> open.

If I do that the patcher wants me to specify some paths (CameraManager.act etc.). I guess those are in the SH 5 main directory.

I do that about ten times and then finally restore the snapshot.

After it's restored successfully I do what? What about the 1.8 GB files I downloaded earlier? I really appreciate all your hard work and totally understand that repeated questions can be a nuisance, but as someone who has never worked with anything else than JSGME and Silent Hunter 3 this is all a bit much.

TDW SH5Patcher is just an unofficial patch to the game . Nothing to do with mods . You must have downloaded the official 1.2 patch for the game in order for the patcher to work . So that's good , you have the game all patched up . So now you need something to enable all the mods you downloaded which is the mod enabler (jsgme ) . It would be helpful to get a bit of background , such as computer specs , age , computer illiterate like myself etc .

So now you need something to enable all the mods you downloaded which is the mod enabler (jsgme ).

Beaware that some modders pack multiple folders into their mods. Uncompress the mod you want and check for folder levels. Check out the user guide pdf in my signature link at post #1. More details given than the JSGMEhelp.txt.

I know this is probably against rules and all but i have just found out about this series. I have never played any of them before. I looked through and found out that SH 5 should not be played without mods. It seems this is the most popular SH 5 mod but honestly, i am a bit scared of the work required to download this pack. Am i missing something? Is there a way to make this process simplified for a newbie?

the game celestial is accurate ... to navigate with noon position is easy and no need to do some correction like sextan index or dip error correction ...
now i am working on tutorial #2

Makes it harder to see ships at night if using mods to have a dark nighttime .

Hey Sober, quick question. Recently I was "downsized" so I can now play SH5 and I started looking into essential mods, and this is the one that gets the most mention. So I'm downloading each mod, but good lord it's an arduous task. Is there a rar or 7zip package off site to download? I got to page 30 and then realized there were 200+ pages so no I did not read through the entire thread.

If not, is the Wolves of Steel basicly the same thing as yours? I ask because I like the way your's looks and run from the youtube vids. Edit*: No it's not. Just went through the list and saw that. I downloaded and installed it, and it's a nice mod, Though I think if there is a single download file for these mods I'd do that as there are more options to choose from.

after some testing with large optics i have 2.1 degree error in measurements
i think that large optics is not compatible with tdw's sextant ...
i will do more test

If you want german language then choose custom install when installing the game and tick german language .

Only ever install the mods list on a new SH5 game installation.
In other words if you played previously then uninstall the game and the save games.
Delete any left over files in the SH5 game folder and then reinstall Sh5 .

You will have to be connected to the internet so that the UbiLauncher can update itself and have the offline mode .
PLAY THE TUTORIAL WITHOUT ANY MODS ENABLED THEN QUIT THE GAME ONCE YOU HAVE RECIEVED THE GREEN TICK IN THE BUNKER .
[I]Enable all the mods with the mod enabler.
START A NEW CAREER AND click COASTAL WATERS ON THE CAMPAIGN SCREEN or type silentotto on the campaign selection screen .
Skip the Tutorial .
WHEN IN THE BUNKER GO BACK TO THE MAIN MENU SCREEN AND Click on continue campaign. (only do this at the start of a new career )
Do not upgrade anything while in Memel base . Wait until you get to Kiel to upgrade .
While in the bunker click on the flotilla officer and choose a mission by clicking on an iron cross
and then selecting request mission .
Exit the briefing map .
While in the bunker go to the options and choose your difficulty settings by using your keyboard Esc key .
Once difficulty settings are changed go back to the bunker again .
Click on the flotilla comander again
and then click on lets start a patrol .
Only enable snorkels while in the Bunker (Bunker save).

I'm finally back in port at Kiel and it has been awhile since i've changed out sobers mods and the patcher i'm relatively new at this so i hope I'm doing it right the patcher is enabled in JSGME and currently at version v_1_0_94_0 my question is do i have to disable the patches before unenabling in JSGME? and there was some stuff wrong on my last patrol i could not get maximum range at current speed,range to course end from my navigator at least that option was not available...and also being at periscope depth i could not come to a full stop...or control flank speed ahead under water...something is goofed up. i will re-install the game if i have to...but i wanna keep my current career and u-boat captain...do i save that folder that is in my documents/data/users/Johannes Habekost?

Its patching the game like the official patches . Uneneble all the patches then extract a copy of the newest patcher which is 164 to the desktop . Use the patcher from the desktop and don't go putting it into the mod enabler . Download my patcher snapshot file from here .

Hi mainexpress

Yes your campaigns are there.

if you decide to reinstall, copy the contents to a usb stick or similar.

It is adviseable to remove all traces of SH5 so use your start button and then search on Ubisoft and SH names etc.. remove everything.

I personally also uninstall Uplay as the reinstall will set up the Uplay installation and Uplay already knows you have this game.

Before you run the game see my Post #62 and Post #8

It is essential to use a registry cleaner.

Hello all, I am trying to get sobers beautiful modlist working on my SH5 but have apparently run into some problems. I followed the below quoted instructions to the T. After the last step (starting the new patrol) I checked my map too see if it looked like the picture in sobers post #2 and it had not. I was in September 3rd, the Baltic operations mission didnt have the grey request missions box, and my boat was docked at Kiel. I uninstalled and re installed as instructed and followed the instructions again and still the same thing. Any help?

Such a reinforcement surely sends shivers down the spine of the Royal Navy :eek:

Still, the one and only real sub simulator like SH5 with the best forum/support on the net and all its skilled and dedicated modders deserves it.

question,i notice in this new mod setup it does not have the RAOBF crosshairs tick marks so i can measure mast height and ship length for AOB...using the large optics for TDW UI,large optics for NewUI's_TDC_7_5_0_Test 17 patch,Large optics for TDW UI 16 by 9...can you still use these scopes for the RAOBF method? or do i need to change something or the scopes?

Sober, nice mod list! I just finished installing it.

I believe I did everything okay, according to instructions.

However, when starting SH5, I get this error message:

"Open error: data/menu/skins/german/upgrade/periscope.dds"

And when loading any mission or career:

"File not found: data/menu/gui/RecManual/CovFlagWorld.dds"

question,i notice in this new mod setup it does not have the RAOBF crosshairs tick marks so i can measure mast height and ship length for AOB...using the large optics for TDW UI,large optics for NewUI's_TDC_7_5_0_Test 17 patch,Large optics for TDW UI 16 by 9...can you still use these scopes for the RAOBF method? or do i need to change something or the scopes?

I was able to get them back by finding the original .dds for the marks from the TDW UI mod folder in the data/menu/gui/layout directory (i think that's right...at work right now so doing off memory) .

However the scaling is off so it still doesn't work. I'm not sure if there's a way to get the RAOBF to work with Large Optics due to scaling. The marking ticks that come with Large optics doesn't seem to work with RAOBF either. Quite possible i'm missing something though :D

Looks like a conflict of some sort.

Unless someone knows better, I am not an expert in these sort of things, I think this is our starting point.

Clean install of SH5, and then Sober's mods according to instructions.

Sober, I did some search, and I found that I am not the first one to experience this problem. Earlier in this thread, zero2005 wrote:

Sober, nice mod list! I just finished installing it.

I believe I did everything okay, according to instructions.

However, when starting SH5, I get this error message:

"Open error: data/menu/skins/german/upgrade/periscope.dds"

And when loading any mission or career:

"File not found: data/menu/gui/RecManual/CovFlagWorld.dds"

And then identical message 2 or 3 times.

My mistake. It is already ";DebugScripts=Yes", and I still get error messages.

Thanks, Sober, I fixed it.

However, there are more bugs.

Even in non-storm weather, boat often thinks it is submerging - Chief says switch to electric engines, and then immediately back to diesel. Deck crew abandons their positions and I have to get them back up again.

How to fix this one?

Yes, the game .exe directory is the C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5

As I don't know your rig's config it's hard to recommend the antilag.cfg settings but to begin with try;

I do suffer with mouse lag, not when plotting in the nav map, but in the attack scope.

It floats wistfully, not good, when trying to set up an attack etc

Does not seem as bad when mouse increased to 5000dpi

I ask because I just upgraded from v22 to v30 fog and started a new campaign. As I headed to Kiel, I got my first look at light fog. It seemed different than in the other version, IIRC, but I figured "hey, I haven't played in a while and this is the Baltic after all!" :)

Precip and wind were both 0. I got note that a ship was coming my way, so I plotted and waited and finally got the ship on sonar. I just couldn't see this ship even though I must have been less than 300-500 m away. The game autosaved at one point, giving me a chance to test things out. Since something just didn't seem right to me, I reloaded and kept searching visually, with sonar, and external camera. Even with external camera, it was difficult to find the ship - in daylight. I figured you'd have to be less than 150-200 m away to see a ship in this light fog. Whut thu? :o

If light fog is this bad, I'm afraid to find out what the other two are like. I figure with this version, whenever there's fog, my only choice is to just coast around listening to the gramophone until the fog goes away, because tracking targets would be futile and I'd be saying "Verdammt!" all day. :D

Spent all last night working on a new Tutorial.

I noticed there was already a d3d9.dll in the SH5 exe folder

I copied and pasted this original to a safe place and installed the new one.

The default showing

RenderAheadLimit=2

FPSlimit=0 changed this to 38

You should rename radcapricorn's "Large Optics for NewUIs_TDC_7_5_0_Test 17 Patch" to "Large Optics for NewUIs_TDC_7_5_0" because it's compatible with all previous 7.5.0 versions and probably will be with advancing versions of TDW's UI's.:yep:

Re-installed SH5
Followed Sober's better than excellent install and new Career Instructions.
Upon re-starting the game it hung.

I control/alt/deleted and discovered the following warning:

Engine message
#open error; #data/menu/skins/german/upgrade/periscope.dds

I acknowledged the message, and game continued to load.

The game hung again.

I figured this would just continue so I closed the game.

I realize there is some missing or corrupt files. I've re-installed twice; same exact result. I think one mod might be corrupt. Would any captain have an idea about what to do? Must I download all mods once more?

1. All min. requirements are ok except graphics driver number. It says I have old version. But after i have lunched vanilla version game it run ok. I have already been playing SH5 before with this and no problem. But if u think its could be problem I will today reinstall game and adress this issue.

2. My game is runing 1.2 patch its not cracked version. But there was problem installing patch cause I have Gold edition of game it was refusing to install patch. So I followed someone instructions on forums and used unpacked version of patch. I have copied patch to sh5 folder. After that I run game and in menu i see that version is 1.2. I tested patched vanilla game also and it did work fine. I know that gold edition is not good choice but in fact I didnt found a way to buy standard edition.

Today I will make total reinstall of game again and will see. Any ideas on this?

I have Nvidia Geforce GT545. I run on 337.88 Driver what schould be optimal driver for my gcard according Nvidia autopatcher I have. I just made clean install and, after install it says that my gdriver is out of date. It says that my driver 137.88 is old and needs to be at least 191.07. But thats bulls..t, my gdriver is 337.88 and is optimal. So this schould not be problem. It just doesnt recognize new gcards...

I will now control all mods if there are not some issues, will install it with jsgme. After that I will use generic patcher and will see.

It is extremely strange. I've never had problems with "AI sub crew" mod before but now I can not dock at Kiel if I have this mod along with Sobers list of mod. Without the mod everything seems to work fine with Sobers list. Can someone confirm this? Is it more than I who have this problem?

I wish I knew what cause the problem. I saw that you have not includerat "AI_Sub_Crew_1_0_2_The DarkWraith" for some reason. When I use the mod along with yours Sobers list of mod, I get CTD when docked at Kiel. When I delete the mod the problem disappears. Have you also had problems with AI_Sub_Crew_1_0_2_The DarkWraith? I would love to be able to use the mod to get rid of ghosts submarines without crew.

I tried after a long break to bring my game to newest version.

After trying to restore the snapshot, I get the message

It cant open sh5.exe (exception , file is used by another process) but I can rename sh5.exe in explorer showing its not.

I will give this a try, hopefully it works and is stable. Is there something with TDW modfying the codes so you can run seperate engines, and stop them realistically etc? Or its bugged and doesn't work? Is SH5 really stable now to play realistically and have fun?

Ok, please help me out. I want the game to run stable and correct. I have no idea what to do and I followed all the instructions and my game crashes when loading. Please tell me how I activate sobers mega all in one (i have premium membership on subsim) mod. I did it in the order it came and its probably messing everything up. I installed and patched to 1.2, and enabled TDW exe patcher according to the instructions. I am playing on 1920x1080 res.

So simply,

I need a snapshot for the exe patcher from TDW, that is direct compatible with sobers mega mod 1 download that is there listed in custom subsim mods.

I need the correct order to enable the mods. I did sobers mod profile and it says I'm missing sooooooooooooooooo many so I assumed I just enable it how it comes but it i can't even run the game now! :/\\!!

That version of Sobers Mega Mod is now outdated (as is any version more that a week or so old). Many of the mods have since been updated.

I need a snapshot for the exe patcher from TDW, that is direct compatible with sobers mega mod 1 download that is there listed in custom subsim mods. I have sober_mods0414.rar. the snapshot is called TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py, and it's located in Data\Scripts\Menu directory of New_UIs_TDC_7_5_0_ByTheDarkWraith.

...I did sobers mod profile and it says I'm missing sooooooooooooooooo many... That's because you're using the current mod profile. Some mods may be missing, but most are just not the versions currently called for in the JSGME profile.

Your best bet is to download the updated and missing mods, as Parmenides suggests.

This will be stable up to date and in in the right order.

You do not need to use all of them and you can add your own such as Accurate German Flags as an example.

I donated to subsim so I could get them all in one file so i don't have to download 5000 mods invidivudally. So what I downloaded that I paid for is not even up to date? Will someone fix, the all 1 one download that premium users have access to? :down:

Sober updates his mod-list almost weekly, so it's something of a running target - but if you want to have the cutting edge, that's the price.

I'd say that at least 80% of Sobers bonus mod-pack is current - so there's only 8-10 mods more that you need to download in order to bring it up to date. It's less work than trying to get his older mod list working.

Otherwise there's The Wolves of Steel. It's another single download megamod, but it will install in one go, without any further downloads.

This does not imply that if you use WOS you are likely to get a ctd.

Although I do not use his mega mod I do use a lot of the mods individually plus some of my own additions 62 in total to make up my mod list.

The Wolves of Steel mega mod is still being patched with additions and fixes as you can tell from the The Wolves of Steel thread.

Its a good situation that choices are available its just down to which one suites you best.

I Am actually using that mod and find it very stable for me . I have had a large mod soup before and at times right smack in the middle of the campaigain a ctd would occur . however this was 2 years ago and I have just came back playing again . WOFS for me so far has been very stable . Reading can explain what was being modded and why it it works that way . I am a very huge fan Of Sobres Mods soup but .. Ill will add after I finish the campaign in the MED and Really Keep it simple in the line up . I belive the mod list should be as personal as it can possibly be , but with a strong stable mod list and with proven mods that are stable . I picked WOFS , literally because it was 3 downloads and it does have the main ingrediants for a good imersion level .. Good stuff

It does not state anywhere that it relates to ‘Stock’ only.

Its never been updated to say differently.

I didn't play too far along with WoS , but I found it every bit as stable while I was running it. Install and play.

I like both, but I prefer Sobers because I can easily remove a specific mod from the list, or try substituting a different mod with similar functionality.

No, I've understood you very well ...You said that TWoS "has bugs and glitches as you can tell from the The Wolves of Steel thread" and that's "definitely not proven" ?!
With over 3000 downloads and only handful CTD reports (half of them are user related) I'm really eager to hear how did you come to that conclusion...
On the other hand, I could tell you that TWoS and any other current modlist/megamod is stable as it can be and when one of them CTD probably all of them will do the same because they all follow same pattern. The differences are mostly in few non relevant graphical mods. To say that one modlist has more problems then other without actual testing neither of them is nothing less then superficial conclusion.

I understand your wish to help people but sometimes inadequate help can do more harm than good. It seems to me that you don't quite understand "mechanics" of large modlists which is pretty strange for someone with so meny helpful tutorials under his belt ... You should not follow readme instructions blindly , especially if the mod is created long time ago. Certain mods are developed to serve as compatibility patches which means that they need to contain all the changes from conflicting mods in order to maintain their full functionality . In that case, original mods MUST be overwritten even if their readme files are saying "enable last, do not overwrite" ect.

In this case , you advised the man to enable Mighty Fine crew With beards at the and of this example modlist under the excuse that it's readme file says "enable it anywhere, anytime, game save compatible" ?!

But what about MCCD_1.04_MFCM_1.2.1_compatible which is designed to contains changes both from MFCM and MCCD in order to sustain functionality of this normally conflicting mods. By installing Mighty Fine crew With beards after the MCCD_1.04_MFCM_1.2.1_compatible you would brake that compatibility and end up with broked modlist without features of MCCD.

Do you see my point now?

I am loving the mod. I do not care for the real navigation and have been trying to disable it. I simply removed real navigation (as well as sobers options since jsgme would not let me remove without). The problem is, I get easy navigation back but the TDC officer has disappeared from my scopes. I tried re-adding sobers options back without real navigation but that did not fix it.

question,I'm on patrol in scapa flow ready to line up on a ship,and when i got ready to attack...i get the message 'captain that tube is non operational' and tried all fore tubes and got the same message...my boat suffered a little damage during a depth charge attack...but i still have 96% hull integrity so that should not be and in sub systems all my fore tubes are at 100%:hmmm:...so now i have to sail all the way back to port and some how repair it...or am i missing something here.

You were on silent running probably, crew don't reload the tubes while on silent running...When surfaced,SR is automatically disengaged.

I"ve reinstalled the mod and for a reason I don't see any of the New UI features in game.

The posts at the begining of this topic are a very impressive source of infos but, no offence here, can we have a clear summary of the steps to do? I have the feeling that the posts are in disorder, and i am lost in what things i have to do when.

Also i can't get the Patcher to work..is it mandatory to use the mods?

This may have been answered somewhere in the 200+ pages behind me, but is there a reliable set of mods to disable in this list that would allow play at sub-100% difficulty? I don't like having XOs and Navigators who don't do their jobs as shipmates.

Sorry to rant a bit, but I paid site support fee to download Sober Silent Hunter 5 Mega Mod (New Version), just to find out there is not working MEP and mod list in this topic is quite different, so if use MEP from http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=3492 I still need manually download a lot (20+ at least) different mods to match list in this topic, also some files MEP requires are newer than url in this topic, example "sobers TDWUserOptions for mega mod +Menu SH5 V11" and url take me to V10, not V11 as in MEP. At the moment I am not very happy and feel kinda cheated to pay when did not receive what I was expecting, a simple, easy way to install this all. :doh:

I had the same problem. I just ended up downloading the updated mods, I figure there's still 60 I didn't need to download.

It'd be nice if the Bonus Mod was updated more often, and included an appropriate .mep file.

However i have a question on the patcher : do i need to set it up before or after activating the mods? I tried to do it after setting all the mods on, and the software tells me all the versions of the files i have to link (camera, sound..) are not the correct version.

I do not think it should make any difference as the GFP is a stand alone.

I am sure someone will tell you if I am wrong.

If you are replacing one patcher with another you must disable the old patches first before updating.

The old patchers had 7 the new one (164) has 9 patch files.

Check and make sure you are selecting the right paths as per instructions.

Don't forget any changes that you make to TDW' NewUI mod should be done with the mod disabled.

Your game must show that it is patched to version v1.2

I am sure this happened before to others and you should get a response.

Thanks for the help, in fact i noticed i didn't correctly activate the DW mod.

However i have an other issue now : In game, the Navigation map seems to be offset compared to the Sub position. For example when i am in Danzig bay, the Nav maps shows me in the middle of the Polish coast.

As a result, despite blowing up 5 ships already, i can't manage to fulfill the objective in Danzig Bay, since the objective zone seems to be off compared to my position.

Any idea on this issue?

Hi Sober,

I feel, somewhere inside of my body, that your mod is something I really want to have installed. I was trying to go through it already for few times but always without success. I know, that you spent many hours, days, weeks to get this mod as cool as it really are, also that you answer milion questions to the "lost" newbies (including me ;) ).

Today, I was reading your first 5 posts in order to get this mod running on my HW. There are plenty of cross interpreted information with ton's of links. In some links, "How to start campaign", the pictures from imageshack dissapeard, other link is connected to 300hundred paged discussion. My english reading skill improved a lot, but that's not the point why I am here :) All I (hopefully also more newbies) want is to install Sober's MOD as soon as it is possible. I am not complaining, again, I know that you made a huge amount of work to MOD this sad game into superb full sub simulator and I really appreciate that. Sober, my question is, haven't you think about to create one single document stored in shared place? Document with all necessary information, picutres, links for downloads, installation guide or "how to" section, to get your MOD running in short manner of time? I am sure that it will be WinWin for all parts.

Downloaded and installed last one (Generic Patcher v1.0.168.0 ). CTDs leaving Wilhelmshaven (campaign date Dec 7 1939). These CTDs was appear at new patcher. Trying to look if loading previous version like v1.0.166.0 works.

I don't know if you already have solved this yet.

First, one question. You wrote this:

emtgufs aspect ratio 4_3

MRP 5x4 ratio etc

You can't enable mods for all these aspect ratios at the same time. You can only choose one for the
' emtgufs aspect ratio' and one for the ' manos scopes-patch' and one for the ' MRP'.

These have to be corresponding to the aspect ratio of your screen.
So,

1. Select the mod with your aspect ratio
2. Enable this one with JSGME
3. start SH5

Please tell if this works and what screen you're using.

Hi!

Hi to all,

this same problem again and again...I every time from the beginning install the game (sh 5-original version), patch 1.2, new campaign, make Tutorial, exit the game, install JSGM to C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5 , next enable mods (mod's list-see post below), return to game , new campaign (realistic) without Tutorial ,then I'm going to officer-bla bla bla,exit to main menu and then return to game, continue campaign, officer-patrol and...I don't see changes:/\\!!:D:rotfl2:I don't know really...
Maybe I could/please ask for a list and link of mods ready proven and JSGM.
I would like to real navigation have, periscope and tools for the navigation map,meybe several auxiliary tables,may have something worth recommending, something like the example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuMB4bNCoBQ

Hi Ser-De

If you go to the Flotilla Leader and then Exit to the Main Menu you have not made any changes.

You are in the same situation when you go back to him again.

You need to do a Save Game to see a difference.

Your changes are then saved so you will see the changes you made when you Load the saved game next time.

What mods do you have?

At what depth KBD (Crystal Rotating Base Apparatus) is supposed to work? when im in hydrophone seat i can hear things when iam 27 metres or more, at periscope depth or 20 metres i cant hear enemy ship propellers but my hydrophone guy can hear, is it a known problem with KBD only? or GHG has the same problem? btw using latest sobers mod list. :06:

Tested GHG works perfect starting from periscope depth onwards.. KBD only starts at 27.

I have a question for the Patcher: i see how it works, but do i have to install and link it to the files before activating the mods , or after? Does the fact it is at the very end of the list mean that we need to do set it up with all mods activated?

Alsot what is its purpose? I've read Sober's posts again and again but appart from setting the schorkel, what do we need it for?


I'm must be really dumb, i 'm completly lost in all the explanations on to set up the mods, i have the feeling instructions are in desorder...

Any idea??? :shifty:It means none of those mods are loaded correctly into the mod enabler as individual mods . Download those individual mods and put them in the mod enabler . You only have to download them once . Make a backup of the mods onto a disc for safe keeping .

What might be going on?You arrived at Kiel before coastal waters mission was available . They are available by date which is historically correct . Every time you dock at base the game advances some days to allow for repairs etc .

Made sure the menu is the latest for NewUIs_TDC_7_5_0_ByTheDarkWraith Test version 18 .
Changed a few things in the user options . Nothing major .
Use the latest MEP and continue with your patrol .

It means none of those mods are loaded correctly into the mod enabler as individual mods . Download those individual mods and put them in the mod enabler . You only have to download them once . Make a backup of the mods onto a disc for safe keeping .

It is not possible to download them all at the same time???? :huh:

Alright, but that does not explain the other half of my post where I am mysteriously docked at Wilhelmshaven all of a sudden.

Ended the patrol, went to choose a mission and Coastal Waters was there but I was now mysteriously docked in Wilhelmshaven and another 15 days had passed.

The mod 'Change Days in Bunker' you can change the default 14 days to your own choice.

I dont mind so much the days in bunker, rather why I magically teleported to Wilhelmshaven.

This mod list has mods included that are needed for the exe patcher that doesn't work with steam . This mod list does not work with steam . Nothing wrong with steam , I have steam games . Its just that this list doesn't work with it . Don't use this list if you have steam and are not using the exe patcher .

I do not have the steam version I have the uplay version. Anfiach just has me on steam. Anfiach informed me that you are redirected to Wilhelmshaven after oct 1 so that sort of explains why I was teleported to Wilhelm after advancing time twice in the bunker. So now I think im gonna start a new campaign and just TC to sept 5 so Coastal waters will be available. Now i guess my question is Will i have go reinstall the game and start the mod process over again or can i just start a new campaign from here and everything will be ok?

Received a radio contact report and am attempting to intercept a large convoy. Watched Stoianms video tutorial on how to do this with TDW. It seems he made the tutorial with an old version of the mod as the radio report gives exact numerical values to the convoys bearing and speed. My contact report only gives NNW, Medium Speed, etc. I can manage the more vague NNW as this would roughly be a 337.5 degree bearing. My problem is with the Medium Speed report as I have no basis on how to gauge this.

How fast is "Medium Speed" roughly when talking about a large convoy?

I want to install and play with latest Sobers MOD list and latest TDW Pather 1_0_168_0.
IF I corectly uderstood a lot of instruction and post :/\\!!. I should do as follows:

1 - Install new SH5 version 1.20
2 - Path game with TDW Patcher v 1-0-168_0
3 - Enable patch with sorbers TDW_genereticPatcher_V_1_0_169_0_Snapshot.gps file.
4 - Install JSGME software in SH5 root dierctory.
5 - Play tutorial
6 - Enable all mods from Sobers list, using sobers 1600 24092015.mep file
7- Again start Game and load save in bunker
8- Start first mision on Balic sea

If I'm wrong please correct me.

MY question after first try:

U play should be on line or off line?
I not see Load option in main menu? Why?
I not using silentotto unblocked mission cheat. I want to play just campani
I don't see Das boot movies in main menu like in Youtube movies from game?

I start game before install TDW may be this was be my mistake.

Hi all,
I am a new player so...patience. I have downloaded and set up SoberAllinOneOctober2014 Mega Mod from the Bonus Mod Pack. It works perfectly - perhaps too well for a new player. If I want to go back to the old method of clicking on the 'main' navigation map to guide my sub with the waypoints, what mod do I need to turn off in the JSGME launcher? And is that all I need to do?

I've also just downloaded the all in one Sobers mega pack October 2014 version from the bonus section.

It's been a while since I've tinkered with SH5 so just remind me someone please........do we still have to follow Sobers install instructions on this thread to get the pack working correctly?

Thanks much for this great mod, I believe something in my installation may not be aligned because of following issues:

1. Port/harbour locations are not showing on the map.
2. Attack disk has map switch but it doesn't come to view
3. Nomograph can't be hidden
4. Stock map tool icons don't hide

I'm using version IO_StrategicMap_7_5_0_for_TDWv750 test (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=4229) of this mod along with the corresponding version for Sober's Mega Mod.

I believe I changed a few options for the Map and Attack disk by using the TheDarkWraith's Option editor ... what options can't be changed?

Could this be related to the DynEnv patch for low resolution?
