Thanks Paulebaer1979, but I still can't get it to work. Right click which folder? And there's no 'info' only 'properties'? I am already selected as the admin/only user for the sh3.exe shortcut? Any advice appreciated.
On the plus side, the game worked fine the other night, saved games and all...

Despite still not getting the 4GB patch to work, my game is now running smoothly and all is OK! Must have been a change I made on the 1st patrol somehow.

The 4gb patch is for 64 bit pcs running 32bit programs (so they can use more of your systems ram, 4gb to be percise ;) ). Despite what is being stated here. With only 2,5 gb of ram there is nothing to gain from using it. It might on a 32bit rig that have 4gb (but of course can't access all of it), to use all the memory it got. But your 32bit windows can already use all the ram you got for it's exes. You would at least need to upgrade to 4gb of ram, I would suggest switching to 64bit though and getting some (I guess ddr2) ram from ebay. 8gb should cost you about 80€ there.
On your system though, no it won't help... Sorry buddy

Is there anything more recent on v6 than I think an April post saying release would have been possibly a couple weeks out? I'm not in a rush, but patiently awaiting LSHIIIv6 to give this mod a whirl. I have played GWX in the past, but wanted to get back to SH3 with LSH but will wait for v6 unless it's looking like another six months away or more.

Short answer: when it's done.
Long answer: The team had minor hiccups with real live stuff, but they are working on release candidate number 4 already, so my guess is that they will run out of bugs to squash eventually (until lsh6 is released to the public that is). So just be patient, they are working on it, they just don't have anything new to tell you.

Not to release a mod because of bugs is very honest and noble. I wish some developer (cough ubisoft) would fix their bugs before releasing software (cough sh5)

New utilities developed various utilities/tools for silent Hunter III 2014 in preparing for the upcoming SH3 Bigmod LSH3 V6 in the last few years, which facilitate the modding work in dealing with SH3.
Because the release date (LSH3 V6 at the end of this month) unfortunately does not keep, two of these tools are accessible already today the SH3 player community.
Both programs are extremely helpful and save time and Know-How in dealing with SH3 installations players and modders: "SH3 VERSION CHECK"... checked the SH3 version of installation and displays all information about the "sh3.exe".
Thus, it is immediately obvious which UBI SH3 version is installed and is compatible or this version for 4GB-Patch or HSIE patch was already patched.
SH3 VersionCheck was developed by LSH 2013 hermit.
[Damn missed one word.. does not keep is the same as delayed I guess :( ]
"SH3 MULTICOPY"...kopiert the existing SH3 installation complete and to redefine the "own game store files".
It doesn't matter whether it's "only" to a copy of the original SH3 installation (2.5 GB) or a complex SH3 installer JSGME and one or more large/mods (20-30 GB or more).
The new copy of the game is using new desktop shortcut ready ready to play.
SH3 MultiCopy was hermit 2013 by LSH, Nicole & Blueduck.

I'm playing LSH for a while now, and I really like it thus far. However, ater 4 patrols in the IIA I'm starting to get bored by the short range and low torpedo count, and I'd like to switch to the VII. I transferred to the Erprobungstelle, but only the II A and IX are available. Shouldn't the VII B be available from the start of the war?
Edit: Forgot to mention, my current in-game date is december 1st, 1939.
Edit 2.0: Ok, I got it working. After restarting the game directly after transferring I could select the VIIB. I knew I had to restart the game, but I thought that had to be done AFTER switching u-boot type.
Anyway, I have another question now. My first mission is to patrol grid AE79, but now that I got there I've used almost 1/3 of my fuel reserve, meaning I can't patrol for too long before I have to return to base. I'm cruising at 10 knots (wich was the historical cruising speed of the VIIB, according to u-boat.net). So now my question is: is this normal, or is there something wrong with my fuel consumption?
Anyway, I have another question now. I always cruise at 8 knots, at least in the type VII boats and as far as I can remember the type IX as well. Maybe not historically accurate, but experimenting with different speeds that one gave me the longest range.
Try out different speeds using the navigators "maximum range at current speed" report, and you should find your optimal in no time.

I was not able to do this without having the images stretched out and making everyone look fat. This is because of the only wide screen mods were all a different ratio than my screen (1920X1080)
So I was left with playing the mod in 4:3 ratio which gives me the black lines.
In the past few months, Annherbe has made a 1920X1080 wide screen mod (perfect for me) but it works with GWX so that is what I'm running now.
I too, liked the LSH mod, it was very nice, however, GWX is also a great mod and now with wide screen support, it is (IMHO) better for SH3.

if and when lsh 6 comes out i am sure it will have widescreen support, otherwise you could just play ccom with with the widescreen mod you mentioned, it works and is more up to date than gwx (or lsh5)

from 0% (very easy) to 100% (Very difficult),
during from first of august 1939 untill begin of may 1945.
That means the day, when you come home from your last "Feindfahrt" to your naval base, could be at 27 of april ´45 or 10 of may ´45.

Didn't LSH3 v5x have it? Dynamic random and special 'happenings'?
I'm not sure if I'm right about events/happenings, but dynamic is to me more important then anything else!
That is why SHIII still will rule them all, in the same way as F-16 campaign still haven't been beaten in a 'modern' flightsim up to this day!

Hey there, I have not played LSHIII V5.1 for a lot of time, so please excuse me if there are any news that I do not know, but what about the graphics of V6? I remember them being preety nice back in V5.1 but since that version was released a couple of years ago are there any new or old but updated graphic mods ( with "graphic", I mean environment, water, sea floor, sun, moon etc.) that will be included in V6, to enhance the ( already awesome) graphic experience?

They have been ready to release for a couple of months now, but always keep delaying. I think they want to fix every possible bug between them (I think they 6 people right now?).
It saddens me to say this, but if they don't release this month, then I doubt they ever will, after all they have been delaying it since christmas 2013.

well, I have been following the development closely for nearly two years now and can tell you that the devs only argue on the german forums. There haven't been real news in months, apart from delays. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see this mod released, but I am beginning to think that sh6 will be released before the mod :nope:
Still, as you can see, I waited for this for a long time and even if it does not sound like it, I still have a little faith left.

I read the german forums and also follow he mod since 3 years now. First you can see what they are working on right now in the history here: http://www.lsh3.com/v5/index_en.html
And they are not delaying to split someone, they just want to bring out a mod without many bugs and so on, they want the mod to be perfect without any bugs at the release. And one of the important members is also sick at the moment so they have one less while developing in their free time.
I see, I'm glad to see the devs are trying to make a mod with little to no bugs

GWX and LSH are standalone mods and should be installed in separate installations of SH3.

They claim that the mod is done and are now working on the manual (they are writing up the German version now and will then start to translate it into English) after that's done they say they'll release... We'll see, but it sounds promising

Thanks! I have been very interested in going back to SH3, but I have been waiting for a widescreen version of OLC for some time. I tried MaGUI, but never could get accurate solutions with the MaGUI RAOFB as well as I did with OLC. After playing GWX for many years, it will be an interesting change to try another super mod.
Just a quick question...
I read someone's comparison of GWX and LSH3 from a few years back, and they described GWX as much more challenging as far as detection. Is this still true, or has LSH3 increased the difficulty level on detection? I am not sure what the historical reality was for this, but I think GWX had a really nice balance on this and a big part of the fun was the tension of evading angry DDs after a successful hit on a convoy. I'm hoping LSH will be equally challenging.

it's not useful and unfair to compare the so-called "super-mods". Every "super-mod" is a unique creation that reflects the philosophy of its modders - and that's good this way. It's up to you to find out which of them comes the most close to your desire of a subsim super-mod.
As i create LSH3 Version 3.0 up to Version 4.0 and in particular Version 5.0, i can say that LSH3 starts with an easy, lucky hunting in 1939 and ends up in a desaster - as in real life.
So try it - the "super-mods" are all for free and you can install as much as you want. It's up to you - but please wait some days/weeks for the new LSH3 version.

Thanks Rowi. I wasn't implying one was better than an another. Just curious about the similarities given previous experience with GWX and eagerly looking forward again to tense nights of close sonar contacts and loud booms. :)

The game itself seems to work okay as far as I can tell, but the game locks-up after completely after loading 100% of the "Ships and Planes" section, I have to kill it in task manager, and even that doesn't always work!
Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong here, and how to fix it?

Does this happen to anyone else running LSH 5.1? I tried re-installing it again from scratch, but it still locks up when I try to access the Ships and Planes section. I have no other Mods installed in this install yet (apart from the 4Gb patch).
On the stock game, I am able to access the "Museum" section, it's only in LSH I can't load the equivalent without it locking up

Well I find it VERY irritating that the team spends so much time in senseless discussions and at the same time does not show up here(rarely to hardly, if at all). In fact the team appears to show up in other threads rather than in their own thread here.
That time would be better spent into support and actually doing something instead of postponing and postponing and postponing again. I can hardly smile when seeing that writing simple text-files takes so such a lengthy time - be it a hobby-work or not.
This all appears to get more and more like HAHD and ATWAR...years of big announcements of "the only bigmod around" (as could be read at MS) and nothing gets done and released. And in the same time we have seen new NYGM-releases which clearly prove these claims wrong.
And I say this as a former DEV-Team-member: We all are so much looking forward, but seeing it postponed again and again and at the same time seeing so many useless word-wars (for instance in the UBI-forum) clearly detracts from LSH's fame of old times.

i don't know the source of your information. I'am in intensive contact with the LSH3 DEV Team - the next version of LSH3 IS READY! Only the hard work - manuals - must be done.
The comparison with other projects as you wrote above is is unfair against LSH3 and the other projects mentioned in you quoted posting. Everything will take it's time and - as Kpt.Lehmann posted here many times - "it's ready when it's ready".
So wait some weeks and you can download the new version of LSH3 - and i mean weeks, not months.

As i wrote some times ago;
BLITZKRIE tried to work with us years ago in the LSH3 Team (English translation of serveral files).
He nerver was a activ/productiv member of the LSH3 DEV Team - he quit under the circumstances of my quality philosophie.
BLITZKRIEG is not able to talk/write in the Name of the LSH3 DEV Team.
Fact is:
1. First read the LSH3 History here (http://www.lsh3.com/v5/index_en.html)
2. LSH3 Supermod Edition 2015 is finaly done since January and work very well
3. Right now we work hard on documentation files in german and english language
I will release our 5 years of L/SH3-Artwork if ALL neccesary work is done – not one day before!
So please my friends have patience couple of weeks to release – more Info soon.

as i understand you have got problems with the "Museum" or "Ship and Plane Section". I suggest NOT to start the "Museum after a patrol. It's better to make a "cold" start of the computer (not a re-start) and than watch the "Museum". But it can take some time - up to 15 minutes or more - until the "Museum" shows its ships an planes.

I refuse to say that parts of LSH 5.1 are just "broken by default"
But I'll quote a statement from another thread:

Okay, I'll try doing this and will just be patient and what to see if it appears after a while - it seems odd that it totally locks up by computer, though, so that I can't do anything else when the bar reaches 100%

Regarding the 3 plans and the type 7a (which I suspect could effect the museum, if at all):
From what I understand from Rowi's explanations in the given link, the damage is not critical enough to cause a CTD, but:
These 3 plans and the boat (should be an AI boat anyway) wont simply show some upgrades of equipment during the war (for example 2 bombs instead of 1).
I think, the errors were caused during the migration (leftovers) between different mods, but with no real effect on the gameplay.
Surgery shouldn't be needed at all.

Okay, but it's a bit annoying not be able to access the Museum/Ships and Planes section, I don't get a CTD, the machine just completely locks up, though I guess I could try leaving it for 15 mins to see if if eventually loads. I have an SSD, 16Gb of 2133Mhz RAM and a 2.6Ghz Quad Core CPU, so you'd think it would load relatively fast if it was going to load at all, though...

BTW some users may like or not the new supermod. I like LSH3 v5 but for me GWX is better. I'm looking forward the new release but also I think I will put some others mod over it. The LSH3 team want to release a complete pack with right manuals and that deserves the delayed release.
Because all these reasons I don't understand why there is this anxiety with the new LSH3. There are another great mods to play!

Urmel, what you and your team consider to be 'bashing' and or 'attacks' is obviously open to individual interpretation. I am not in the position to take the side of either party in this matter, my function is simple, I am expected to oversee the smooth running of an internet community devoid of any breaches in the rules as set out by the forums owner.
In carrying out the above function I will draw your attention to the fact that I have now appealed for calm and acceptable behaviour on three separate occasions on this thread which have culminated in final warnings to BL!TZKR!EG 3-11-2015 (#1153) and blueduck 4-11-2015 (#1156). Added to that was my obvious warning 3-14-2015 (#1160) any further violations will bring about some form of remedial action.
I was under the impression matters were now calm as it appears both the above appear to have heeded my request.
I now ask the same of you and have edited your post in an effort to tone matters down.
I'll have you know I am not only asking as a moderator but also in the spirit and manner of a former modder of over eight years standing, having been an integral part of the GWX team and TGW before that and having personally experienced the same challenges and pressures I am confident you and your peer group are most likely experiencing now.

All the rest can, and they all are in both Ahnenerbe's and VanJast's 1920x1080 mods. The basic gist of what is being said is that SH3 is sadly "hard coded" to be rendered at 1024x768. The the code the does that either lies inside or is controlled by (I'm not a programmer so i don't know exactly how it works) SH3.exe. In order to offer native support (and probably GUI scaling) for additional resolutions, someone needs to figure out how exactly its handled within the .exe file and then figure out a way to "unlock" additional resolution options.
To date no one has either bothered to try or has been able to decipher how it works exactly (i believe firmly that the talent exists within the community, so hopefully its something we see soon).
In an effort to work around what is hard coded within the .exe, a number of community members began to work on .dll and .cfg files that can be added to the games root folder. These files interact with each other and the game to tell the engine at what resolution to render.
The game can render above 1080 as i've had it running at 2560x1440 (the native resolution of my monitor). The problem is, however, that the GUI is made up 2D images that will not scale as you scale the resolution that the game is rendering up. This makes the game more or less unplayable (everything that you interact with - maps, binos, periscope, etc is all a 2D image).
Blitz listed a series of wide screen mods which have been created for various resolutions. These resolutions have included the custom .dll, .cfg, and .ini files to render the game at a given resolution (ex: 1920x1080) and ALSO include the 2D GUI that has been essentially re-built so that it fits the increased resolution appropriately and removes no default functionality.
Currently, the highest resolution this has been done for is 1920x1080. If you don't have a 1080p monitor, you can always set your GPU to scale according to aspect ratio or scale to full screen. This will result in either black bars (vertical or horizontal) or decreased image quality due to stretcher, or both.
Hopefully this helps you understand how things work. If I missed anything or have a mistake please, anyone, feel free to correct me.

To say it clear: Right now NOT ONE of all existing "Widescreen" Mods show more that realistic/physical 1360x768px!!! All of them use the basic/same d3d9.dll (from Seeadler).
This genius DLL make it possible to "stretch/upscalling" the Game content up, from 1360x768px content to your Desktop Resolution (1920x1024px, ore more).
About the "Game Content": Shure we can modding all the thousends of graphical elements (TGA) up to more "hi-res" (1360x768px+).
I made this (for test) allready to 1920x1024px (cost me one year trying). BUT some very important SH3 GUI-Elements ar NOT movable (menu.ini) at this time.
That means; ALL of our SH3-ideas about a RELAISTIC SH3 HI-RES WIDESCREEN Mod (1920x1024px+) is just a nice (future) dream right now.

3. After 8 years of modding right now we know exactly witch part of "Display Elements" (60'000 Lines in menu.ini+) are moveble or not to bring SH3 in "realistic hi-res 1920x1024px shape".
Like i said befor; in THIS case we need a realy EXE-Terminator (like HSIE) for analysing and rebuilding sh3.exe file variants again.
In some weeks we release Supermod LSH3 Edition 2015 (incl. six GUI Mods, tree of them in REAL Widescreen).

I have a quite huge problem with the installation of the mod:
When i try open the .exe i get
"Can not open 'C:\Downloads\LSH3_V5.1_FULLVERSION.exe' as archive"
in the 7zip extraction window.
Does anybody knows help?

Hints: every file must be downloadable in less than ONE hour!
if your provider/speed to slow your better choose the splitting variant into 8 smaller files to download each file separatly - step by step.
Compare file size after download in Explorer before starting the installation ! Additional information at http://lsh3.com/dl/v5/LSH3_V5.1_Installation_EN.pdf (Page 11)
After download check the your filesize with the size we wrote on the website!
if these sizes match you can open/install V5.1 without any problem.

I'm not associated with the team, but I can pretty much tell you that your machine should be perfectly fine. Especially at 1366 x 768 resolution.

Hello mates,
HSIE.EXE and/or one of the other SH3 relevant tools are reported "untrustworthy" by some Antivirus-tools when packed into our Supermod (testing since 3 months with www.virustotal.com (http://www.virustotal.com)).
This, of course, is rubbish - it might be due to the combination of files (EXE, DLL, ...).
Occurring problems will have to be solved by support via e-mail or the forum(s) after release.

not similar in the way that it is like GWX. Every Super-Mod has its own "philosophie" and is interpretinig SH3 in a different, unique way. That's the best tey can do. With the option of "Multi-Install" you can have all. Just do it and find out what's the best in your opinion and way to play SH3.

Dear Rowi: from years ago I have an "I can live with it" bug in LSH3 5.1. In some campaigns and missions I see a looooong wall of smoke from the funnels of warships and merchants. Not frequent but a real FPS dropper and it don't look nice...Never I found a solution for that. Some suggestions please? The problem is specially visible in the Bismarck mission.

I could like the effect, but the drop of FPS is very strong, from 50-60 FPS to 17-20 FPS. I will prefer to eliminate the effect.

I have LSH v5.1 and love it. The problem I am having is I get through the training and transfer to Wilhelmshaven; and when I go on patrol and save the game it won't reload. I am using SH3 Commander, Extended Challenge, Green Seas, olc Gui 6 Guage, Special Effects -Big. It has to be something simple. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and on clean install and it works until I hit war patrol. At first I thought it was Commander, but even without it; the problem persists. Thanks in advance. I don't have problems running it; just saving it.

Are you saving your game near a port or any contacts? I believe I have read that if you try and save your game around ports or with contacts like a convoy you risk having this issue occur. I'm no expert but I hope this helps I would try saving your game away from port and with no contacts or ships anywhere around you.
Also remember to give the game plenty of time to load, I know it sometimes took mine up to 8 mins to load a saved game, I personally try not to save it unless I have no choice.

Also, the silence of the dev team is not a good sign...
Hopefully, they have not encountered any serious problems, because we always seem to be so close to the release, and then silence.
To support the above statement, all the way back to January, I had asked the same question, at this thread, and someone from the dev team (probably rowi 58) had said that the release would come the following days/weeks (I don't exactly remember), and then he deleted his post, which I knew (even though I am not a prophet:know:), that did not meant good knews for the mod.
Anyway, I just hope that it would have worth the waiting. The only thing that really matters, is that they deliver us a quality and hopefully bug free mod (if we finally get it to our hands).
LSHIIIV6 dev team, keep up the good work (supposing you are still working on this project), I am sure that the quality of your final work will impres us all!:up:

Can someone explain to me why the LSH V5.1 is crashing to desktop before loading career mode? I have this mod on my desktop computer but also wanted to install it on my gaming laptop, the single player missions will load but the career will not, most of the time it crashes around 90%.

Thank you Aktungbby and fitzcarraldo for the warm welcome and yes I installed the 4GB patch before installing the mods. I will try a third time but the single player missions work fine but the career is the one that locks up at 90%.
UPDATE: fitzcarraldo, I again applied the patch this time over top of the mod 5.1 already installed and it looks like that worked. Thank you for a quick response and your help. :yeah:

Actually my game started to freeze and lock up again after two or three starts. Now the game wont start at all without kicking me out to the desktop. The fields in SH3 commander went blank as well now so I'm not quite sure what is up with it. :/\\!! For the time being I uninstalled SH3 from my laptop and went back to my desktop. I'm hoping for LSH V6 but it doesn't look like that's coming out anytime soon since nothing has been posted from the development team in two months. :hmm2:

All the information you need will be included in the manual that comes with the download. It will be as detailed as it has been before, I guess :doh:.
You'll still find an older version of the manual at lsh3.com in the tools - section. It's called MiniManual and it is in English language. There is an older English Installation guide as well. The new installation can't be THAT different.
So you can prepare yourself mentally NOW.

Hi Avers,
take a look at the install-manual (link will be given) and follow it to install a new SH3, download the appropriate packages (split or full)!
The rest (including SH3-Commander) will be done by the LSH3-2015-Installer.

Are there still 'pre-built' computers around even? I haven't had one for 10+ years.
Yeah, you can still get them from electronics stores. Here in US, Chicago - Microcenter and Best Buy come to mind. Typically they don't come with a parts list looking that good.. But he could have bought something from ibuypower or cyberpowerpc for all we know. :D
But, Avers-- Your PC should be able to run any game out there right now at 1080p resolution. Won't be with ultra/max graphics settings, but it'll run whatever you throw at it at a mix between Normal (medium) -> High settings. Just an FYI :up:

Hello All,
I just wanted to post this for anyone who has a “Steam” copy of Living Silent Hunter III and wishes to install the LSH3 2015 Version. If you have already tried to install the LSH3 2015 Super Mod you probably have already run into the error “SH3 must not be installed in this path! Please install SH3 anywhere else!” Here is a workaround to that issue, so far I have not encountered any issues doing this if there is I will update this post.
1.) I suggest you have a fresh clean install of SH3 on your pc before trying to proceed further. I would uninstall and delete any remaining files left on your pc from steam. Next re-install the game on your pc. (I heavily recommend doing this to avoid any possible issues)
2.) Next you will need to locate your SH3.exe file. Go to your game root folder usually located in C:/ Program Files / Steam / Steamapps / Common / Silent Hunter 3 and copy the “Silent Hunter 3” folder to your desktop.
3.) Now to save yourself some headaches you must eliminate all spaces from the file name. It doesn’t matter what you call it just remove the spaces for example Silent_Hunter_3, SH3, Silent_Hunter etc. you get the point.
4.) If you have not already I would download the LSH3 2015 Edition and install the mod according to the instructions just remember to when the installation asks you to find the root folder it will be the one located on your desktop not in the steam folder.
5.) ENJOY!
Hopefully this post helps anyone who has steam out.

- Installation process worked very fine (multipart installation).
- I have CTDs in the Artillery Training Mission.
- The supermod needs some additional mods for my candy eye taste, for example: uniforms, crew faces, sounds, speech, and change the interiors (I prefer CCom with Aces Super Turms compatibility and Damo´s interior lights; my taste, of course).
- The supermod needs another environment mod, for my taste (MEP is a must have).
- The menus, etc, are superbe.
- I´m not secure the Hsie patch is properly applied. Really I dont know if I have the 4Gb patch applied, that could be the cause of the CTD in the Artillery mission.
- Campaign not tested.

Exactly, same here. I made a 4GB patched of my original SH3.exe, and all works fine. With the included Hsie patch, CTDs...Try to patch with 4Gb patch your original (year 2005) SH3.exe, and not activate the Hsie optional mod.

First of all i have the steam version, and after some frustration i managed to install the mod (something like Cbeck139 suggested, but a little more time consuming...).
I also had problems (CTDs at naval academy), with Hsie enabled, and i found that with everything on except for the Crashdive fix (NYGM), the Night Vision Fix (GWX), and the Diesel Damage Fix, it worked flawessly.
All the other submods gave me no CTDs at all, but i do not know if Hsie is properly applied. It says V16B1 at the main menu, but i do not know how to verify that it is actually working (i have never installed the patch before). For example submerged and moving with aprox 7 knots, i could clearly see with the periscope (but i have read that there is a blur if you use the periscope at high speed with Hsie enabled).

My settings are at exactly 60 Hz
I did try the notepad trick and that didnt work.
I couldn't try installing the DirectX 9 series since I'm running Windows 8.1
The display changer didn't assist either.

Try to disable any wide screen / hi res options and try to start the game. And try the compatibility mode for XP in Admin mode as well.
What is the trouble with DX 9? Are you in Admin mode? Is your Windows User Account Control (UAC) protected? DX 9 is WIN genuine, the one from Microsoft directly, so it should work. Here is some useful information:

Thanks, i created new directory for SH3 and now it works.
But i encountered another problem - german language - my game is loading with LSH3 mod and menu is in german. How to fix it ? Any possibility to have english menu ?
Naaaa, LSH is eventually made in Germany. UBoats were made in Germany. Dönitz was German. Which language would you speak? :O:

Go to the settings screen in the game. There you should be able to change that...

Try to disable any wide screen / hi res options and try to start the game. And try the compatibility mode for XP in Admin mode as well.
What is the trouble with DX 9? Are you in Admin mode? Is your Windows User Account Control (UAC) protected? DX 9 is WIN genuine, the one from Microsoft directly, so it should work. Here is some useful information:

You were on to something, I never thought about deactivating the mods and trying them one by one. The Widescreen mod is where the issue is occurring and I'm not sure why, this was one of the major changes I was looking forward to. Any Ideas?

It has to do with the versions and settings of the d3d9.dll and / or d3d9.ini flying around, AFAIK.
EDIT: Some guys here are playing around with the different versions of said files. There will be a workaround.... Hopefully....

Does the old 'delete german.tga's' trick still give us Swastika flags?
(I know I'm lazy as I didn't try it out, but don't want to ruin installation)

Second Impression:
I did my own Hsie patch SH3.exe in the old style, with my own Supplement folder. The Hsie optional mod don´t work for me. Now all is working fine.
The Kiel port and St. Nazaire are nicely done, with a lot of ships. Beautiful.
There is a key question: Is it possible to use WS 1920x1080 resolution? It seems not...I see the d3d9 config file with a WS 1360x768 resolution; changed it to 1920x1080 and the menus are all "disturbed", impossible to play. I will test Anhenerbe 1920x1080 GUI (my actual GWX GUI), securely it will work, but I will miss all the nice menus of LSH3 2015...:wah:

i got lot of crash and problem whil saving my game. or loading my save, or got also ctd while playing..

Are you saving your game around land, ports, or any contacts? They suggest if you save your game mid-mission to do so in good weather, on the surface and away from ports, ships, aircraft and land.

Wow do I feel like an idiot thank you again for helping. I think I might have some deeper problems the Silent Hunter Commander doesn't give me any U-boat options to choose from the old mod allowed you to start a career with either a type IIA or VIIB. It only gives me one of the two options and it depends where I launch the program from.
