Hello U-Falke,

depends on how skilled you are, working on SH3 cfg-files.
You may try to use the stock-SH3 basic.cfg but you will loose some other settings like "LSH3V5.1 torpedo loadout"

If you know how to compare cfg-files you may just change every appearance of "Renown..."

yes zones.cfg is the original one of SH3 (see date of file).

Hello pelucho25,

no it will not be.
If you use a program like "Winmerge", capable of comparing 2 text files, you will see there are too many differences.

You might give it a try but I don't think it will work.

sorry but a closer look revealed that you would have to delete the "Pal" folder within Terrain too.

OK up and running, a sprinkle of persverance and a large dollop of RTFM ! St. Nazaire = banged into the lock a couple of times and got buzzed by ME's on the way out but looking good so far. :up:

Just a question: The graphics on the outside of the u-boats (especially the bridge) and some of the ships seem really plain. Because in vanillia SH3 I'm sure there was rust and dirt and now there isn't any, just a few shades of light grey. Now is this mod meant to look like that or is there something wrong with my download??

I am not that familiar with 7-zip and am probably doing something wrong, and simple. But....

I have downloaded the files and run the batch. I now have a 1,003,233 kb file named LSH3_V5.1_fullversion.

I have downloaded and installed 7-zip, and rebooted after linking the program to 7-zip files.

But all I get is a message that the program cannot open the file "as archive."

I have tried clicking on it, opening as an administrator, and opening it from with z-zip. Always the same result.

What am I missing?

I downloaded the fresh copy of the 4GB patch but still no go.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

the u-boats in LSH3V5.1 received new skins. Therefore your download and installation are OK!

Did you activate LSH3V5 and LSH3V5.1 before your listed MODS?

_LSH3_V5.1_ENV_MEP3_Mediterranean-Water may not work without the two others _LSH3_V5.1_ENV_MEP1 and _LSH3_V5.1_ENV_MEP2.

if you think of the intruments to be removed I think you know to use the ","-key of the NumPad.

maybe you did not start the 4GB-Patch-exe as an Administrator!?!

Did you start it with a Right-click and "run as administrator"?

nice to read it works now!

LSH3_V5.1_Frozen-Harbors will have to be deactivated vir JSGME if you get into spring times again.
Veers is working on a MOD for SH3 Commander which then will automize the seasons change.

Hello, I used to play SH3 when it came out but haven't had it on my computer for 3 or 4 years. Would this be the best mod to use, since I never really did get used to Grey Wolves or the NYGT mods. I also have win 7 64 bit and I hope I've no problems installing this mod.:doh:

Man this is tough to download from my location. Out in the rural areas we don't have cable or DSL. My service is wireless from a cellphone tower a quarter mile up the road, and every file so far has stopped downloading and says it's finished at 40 to 50mbs, and 100 to 110 mbs.

I will have to see if I can visit with friends in town who might let me download these files.

Looking forward to it though! Very impressive work that was done!

regrettably it is our provider who cuts downloads at every clock hour. But even if you start 2-3 minutes after a clock hour your speed seems to be too low.

If it does not work to download at your friends in town, please contact me via e-mail: blueduck@lsh3.com.

Or post your approximate location and maybe some of the forum mates will send you a DVD.

we want to give you a preview on some of the work we are doing.

First there is the aged GUI of SH3 which will become completely overhauled and refurbished. Have a look at the animation below!

Furthermore there will be the following improvements:

easier Installation
higher integration of SH3-Tools (esp.: SH3 Commander)

LSH3 V6 will still be compatible with Win XP/Vista/7 allthough we expect that the system requirements will end up with a minimum of 4GB RAM.

This all will need some time - AND WE WILL TAKE THEM!!!

Oh yes, it is definitely on my end. When I lived in Denver Colorado, I had highspeed cable internet service, and would have had all the files downloaded in a few minutes. Here out in the rural area of Michigan, it's like going back to the stoneage comparatively. I think this provider has the the ability on a good day to be about 40x faster than dialup.

I am though going to check with some friends to see if I can use there internet to get the files as they have highspeed cable in the city areas.

Hello Sittingwolf,

this might work with MODS which do not change important gamefiles of GWX (e.g.: just TGA-files).
Because this is the same for using GWX-MODS with LSH have a look at the "Minimanual - Section H" in the DL-section of lsh3.com.
There you can see the files which should not be changed by a external MOD when activating for LSH3. This should be the same files vice versa for GWX.

as Fitzcarraldo wrote before, do a MultiSH3-Installation.
And if you want to, use two SH3-Commander-Installations for each one!!!
All necesary Files and Tools are available in the LSH-DL-Packet!
And please have a look at the given manuals before installation, especially the Installation-Manual.



But be aware not to use some of the SH3-Commander-Options in "Gameplay Settings":

Adjust water clarity (If you intend to use the ATM- or ENV-MODS)
Set wave height (NEVER!!!)
Model effects (NEVER TOO!!!)
Actually our testers are doing the SH3-Commander-Tests with the Frozen-Harbors and maybe there will be an update soon to fix the "Gameplay Settings".

this a preview on the revised guns- and flak-ammunition which will be included om LSH3 V6:

The management of the guns and ammunition (F10/F11) has been completely reworked!
As sophisticated as possible the different calibres have been integrated into SH3.
During this work we realized, that today it is nearly impossible to find 100% correct information about the ammo used with the different guns.

Therefore we appreciate every further information or hints in this case.

After a few years i've just returned to SHIII & after reading through the forums again i decided to give LSH a spin instead of GWX. I've only done 2 short stints in a Type II but i've enjoyed it very much. On my last patrol i came across a small convoy of 5 Polish fishing boats and my contact report got some Luftwaffe attention. I've spent maybe 10 minutes watching Stuka's dive bombing :D They've managed to sink 2 of the boats before heading home. Can't wait to trade in my Type II for a VII...

For the past two days I have been trying to get LSH into a clean patched copy of SHIII. I downloaded the fast 1 file first and tried to launch it but it did not recognize it as an .EXE file and wanted me to extract it. I tried to extract to C: ubisoft silent hunter III and got message can not extract to archive.:wah:

it seems .EXE-files became attached to 7Zip. Must have happened somewhen using "Open with..." from the context menu.

I checked my 7Zip v9.15 and it has no option to change this.
Maybe your version has?

No Sir,

yet there is no fixed date for the release of LSH3V6.

After several tests a ALPHA_v1 has been released to team and testers.
But there is still a lot to be included.

You must open the tubes hatches...Use "Q" key, open the tubes, and torpedo looossss!!! This a nice carachteristic of LSH3: you canīt launch fishes without open manually the hatches.

Also failed for me too. Got 50% of EXE.1.efs and it just quit. Full version download even for fast DSL, I'm trying on highspeed internet, is 24 hours. I'd like to run your mod in a new install of SHIII but not able to even get it with slow speed downloads or downloads quitting.

Thanks for the torpedo doors it worked. Now when I'm playing my Career I don't run into a single thing over several tries like I do with the non mod version. I'm probably doing something wrong. Do you have to do something extra?

Hello Eimlost,

in this case it is easy!
You only should activate "_LSH3_V5.1_Single_MultiPlayer" if you ONLY want to play Single- or Multiplay-Missions because it has got a complete empty Campaign! (Info could be found with the mouseover on the MOD-name or in the Readme via rightclick)

Deactivate all other MODS including "_LSH3_V5.1_Single_MultiPlayer" then activate the rest without it again!

Problem solved. I took the Hi rez fix out and now I can "Print Screen". Fraps screenshots and also shoot movies with Fraps.

hey i guys i installed lsh3 5.1 today. everything is fine and runs well until i tried to fire torpedo at a ship today. the torpedos would just not fire. i tried the torpedo button in the attack periscope in tdc and by pressing enter or issuing order to WO. there was no point it would just not fire the torpedos. i also tried putting torpedo crew in their compartment but still no go. anyone knows what is wrong?

yea didn't know had to make torpedo bays open. one more question. i know LSH3 uses MEP graphics. but it actually does not look like MEP in game. the water is not the deep blue that i see in MEP3. is there a way to get this enviornmental mod (LSH5.1) for GWX gold? because when i use MEP3 for gwx the water is just too darn blue for my liking.

From what I noticed none of the present super mods renders that parameters CORECTLY!.

For example and in reality, U-boats type IX could go down to 230m as a test depth and their crash depth was around 250m.

For U-boats type XXI it was between 260 to incredible 300m at the time.

I just did a quick test with a IXB and passing 257m the first message appeared: "We are damaged" - Back to 250m and I was save.
Type XXI down to 260m then rudders used to get deeper. Passing 332m "We are damaged" - back to 310m (97%) was save again.

We did a rework for the chrash depths for LSH3V5 and they should be rather correct.


I tried to contact him about that but haven't got any answer from him.

Because this is nothing he can fix with his patches. These are parameters given by the subs themselves.

If you can't reach this depth maybe you are using SH3-Commander?



BTW:
h.sie-exe V16B1 will be available with LSH3V6 with some useful options I guess every Kaleun would agree with: 4GB-Patch (absolutely necessary), Fog Warning, Move 1WO to bridge, Radar Bugfix, Bad Weather Fix.
Of course V6 will be prepared for Wolfpack Mod and other things like that.

Hello Sittingwolf,

If you think of the station-icons in the lower left corner they will be SH3-Stock. The orders-icons (and suborders-icons) will be smaller due to a complete redesing of the GUI.

There will also be a GUI-version available for LSH3V5.1 (4:3) shortly after the release of LSH3V6.
LSH3V6 will have a 4:3-GUI and an additional WS-GUI.

well in this case I think for example that raising the periscope to the full heigth would be too dangerous in some circumstances and since you write yourself, that you are using the manual functions, the "integrated orders" will surely not be within LSH3V6!

The beginning of the campaign. The noise of the sea on the tower. Clock ticking on the navigator table. Gurgling of water in the hydrophone. All right!
The game is temporarily stopped (pause) - I need to withdraw...:yawn:

I continue to play ... The noise of the sea on the bridge.:DL The noise of the sea at a navigator table.:o The noise of the sea surface in hydrophone.:hmmm: The noise of the sea (rain or wind) at a depth of 50 meters.:doh:!!!
This situation persists until the return to port (or exit) ...:damn:

Are You can help whith this trouble?

Looks like that the sound deteriorates when switching between full-screen game and desktop. I tried to go hiking in windowed mode: the sound was clear, even after waking from hibernation :up:

Hello andwii,

this is no steam-problem.

But there are several possible solutions:
- update your graphics-card-driver (or try to get an older version)
- if you are using a HDMI-cable try a DVI-cable
- if you've got an nvidia-card, check driver-settings for sth like "scaling by display" (don't know if ati got this too)
- reduce display-frequency to maybe 60Hz, start the game, exit and set it back to the original value
- update directx-codecs
- start dxdiag, goto tab "display" and check, whether the accelerations are ON

I hope one of these will help!
If not, please tell more about your PC:
OS, CPU, graphics-card, memory, display-type and -resolution, activated list of mods

Final question: are you using hires-fix?

Yes I followed the steps, however, the 4GB patch wouldn't load.
Windows 7
Pentium Dual-Core E5200 @2.50GHz
4GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 9500 GT with DirectX 11.0

Installed mods right now are just:
LSH3_V5
LSH3_V5.1

Hi U570,

the "4-GB-Patch" is not a JSGME-ready mod, it is a a executable programm. Run 4gb_patch.exe, within this programm go to the root directory where your sh3.exe is located, select sh3.exe and execute. The programm willl give you an "sh3.exe.backup" which can be used in cases of malfunktion.

I did exactly that, I first thought when it asked for an executable, I thought it was Windows trying to find it :oops:. But then I realised this and did what you say, but it still hasn't had any effect.

if you did it in that right way, the "4-GB-Patch" is installed and will work. I read about your computer specs, they are o.k., but in can take up to 5 minutes or more a carreer will start. So plesae wait - even if it seems that the programm is frozen (typical problem of SH3: it runs up to 90% and then "stands still")

LSH3 has more than 200 Ships and some 40+ planes. And that takes some time to be loaded. The same problem you will have in the "Museum". that takes up to 10 minutes until finaly loaded.

you did not tell us whether your Windows is 32bit or 64bit version.
If it is a 32bit you will have to do the bcdedit-command as describred in the install-manual.

sounds like you did NOT do the bcdedit-command in the dos-box (see install-manual).

If you open the dos-box (cmd.exe) type
bcdedit /enum
and there should be a line "increaseuserva 2900"

My "old" machine runs with 3,2GB RAM (due to Mobo-Restrictions, W7 32bit) and 2900 works fine! Be aware, that I disabled every process or startup-program not necessary, so that there are just 42 processes active.

NO it does not!
LSH3V5.1 is a "Supermod" like GWX and therefore they can NOT be used together.

Maybe use "MultiSH3" to have both!
MultiSH3 is included in our DL-Package.

Hello utops,

there are nearly 150 ships and 23 airplanes more within LSH3V5.1. Therefore the campaign-files are enhanced to bring them into the game.
There is much more harbour-traffic in the u-boat bases.
Special Operations like Weserübung, Paukenschlag, ... are added and you will be informed via radio-messages.

Sinking-mechanics is the same as in Stock-SH3.

Graphical-MODs are included and can be added via JSGME - 3 different GUIs too.


I wouldn't ask if there was standalone english istruction avaiable for download.

well, if you knew your JSGME better, just hold the mouse on a MOD-name and you will be given a short description in German and in English what this MOD does. A right-mouse-click will open a context-menu with a German and English PDF-file for most of the MODs.

well... if you must know.lol. its just i cant load any of the profiles. it keeps throwing it cant find such and such mod so its aborting the load. what it probably is is that i took the english version of the mod enabler and installed it and deleted everything that said jonesoft in the sh3 file. which most likely had one of those files which made it compatible to load the profiles. so my conclusion to all this is to reinstall everything back the way it was with the german version of jonesoft and go from there. your mod pdf file can be a little confusing so im taking it day by day. sometimes i read things too fast and i wont understand it. like i said its nothing i cant figure out. im a diehard GWX fan so for the past 4 years of playing that i got spoiled and you only offer OLC guis and not Magia guis. but ive always wanted to give this mod a try so im really taking it slow to get every mod activated that makes LSH5 what it is. i havent played in a year and a half now and i sold my powerful computer and i got stuck with this little laptop so load times really suck so like i said im taking it day by day.:salute:

Well I remember an issue with JSGME in this case. As far as I remember, we renamed this MOD after making the profiles for JSGME. It does not affect the version of JSGME!
But you would not need the profiles! Just go to the table on page 9 in the PDF and activate the MODs from top to bottom - the order should be correct!

Well there are "Six-Dials" and "Multi-Slideout" too. And as far as i remember MaGui had a LSH version too!

i havent played in a year and a half now and i sold my powerful computer and i got stuck with this little laptop so load times really suck so like i said im taking it day by day.

Well, a powerfull machine will be necessary for LSH3V5.1 and even for LSH3V6. I still have a 6 year old laptop but with 2GB of RAM to small for LSH3V5.1. Since I have got two monitors for my PC I would not miss to work like that!

Your MOD-list might work well except the last one - Merchant_Fleet_Mod_3.2. Due to this MOD was made for SH3 and comes without a GermanNames.cfg/EnglishNames.cfg i guess those ships would loaded but will not appear in the campaign.
LSH3V5 almost got more than 10 of the most beautiful ships of IABL's MFM built into. Alltogether 150 more than Stock SH3. So I think you would not need this one because it will raise your loading time.

Maybe think of starting the game via SH3Commander enabling the "Start at Sea"-Option. You will be outside of the harbours and it might reduce your loading-times!

ive done some patrols in career and its not as bad as i thought. the only thing thats wierd and you probably just explained it in the above post. i run across i guess would be convoys, but they arent moving. they are just sitting in the water. i will deactivate MFM and see if that helps that. other than that i find it ok. i do like the docks. does kinda sink you into being a uboat commander. ill expierment some more. ive gotten tired of sh3 commander as the dates never line up and i constantly add mods or change something which in turn messes with sh3 commander so i just load up LSH3 and enjoy just that.:salute:

oh so is this a reacuring problem in lsh ? there were atleast two that i know of. i know it doesnt help now but one was off the west side of scapa flow or in the AM grid i know that for sure cuz i had to patrol AM32. next time i will make note of time and position and try to take a screen shot like you asked. heres a question ive been meaning to ask. how do the AI work in LSH. because most of the time if i spotted a ship and couldnt get into a good position to sink and would watch it leave my sight then an airplane would come and try to bomb me. so i take it that its simulating that i was spotted and the ship radioed my position and then they sent an aircraft out for me ?? is this correct?

No, that's not a problem of LSH3 V5.1 . It could happen in every "super-MOD" and even in Stock-SH3.

When the convoy leader was sunk, the convoy doesn't know what to do. In LSH3 V5.1 you have many scripted AI-subs and also the "Luftwaffe", who attacks convoys.

So feel happy to meet such a confusion and sink them all. :arrgh!:

ok heres what i spotted today on a patrol... it was in AO74 on Oct. 2,1939 at 10:55am in the upper righthand corner. there was a German CL Koln-Class sitting in the middle and then it was surrounded by two T3-Tankers both empty and also German Nationality and ther were sitting still. So was this normal or no ?

that's normal. The location is the final destination of this small convoy. It ends in AO74, but the function "Delete on last waypoint" is set at "NO". So you can see them resting there.

Just wondering that someone is travelling through AO74 :03:.

Think you won't need "Waterstream+Exhaust Combi V2.3 for GWX3" because it is already included in LSH3.

I don't think the two TDW-MODs do have a "en_menu.txt", neither the last one. Have a look for the remaining two "Stiebler3_Addon_for_V16B1" and "O2-Gauges v2" if they do!

no, it is difficult to say what they want to tell you because it depends on where you are, when the officers give their messages.

Maybe I've found another way:
Enable the unvisible files in Windows-Explorer and then navigate to the MODS-folder of your SH3-installation. You should see a folder named "!Backup". Navigate to "data\menu".
There should be several files named "en_menu.txt.xxxx".
the xxxx is the MOD-Name which changed last.

- Did you compare your filesizes with the given values on our website?
- Did your DL for one of the parts take longer than an hour?

well i did figure out the problem i was having. it was

RTFM problem:har:. i read alittle more about h.sies patch and all and found that you have to copy and paste some text from one file to the other but it has to be what ever mod is last that contains en_menu file. so im going to try the wolf pack stuff later as well. but it is comfirmed (as long as you read the manual) that h.sies patch will work with LSH.:up:

Hello drakkhen20,

LSH3V5.1 has the mod "_LSH3_V5.1__OhneErmuedung" with no fatigue.
If you compare the basic.cfg (\data\Cfg) of this MOD, Stock LSH3V5.1 and GWX you could get to the values you like to have.

Use "Winmerge", "notepad++" with its compare-extension or something else because it is just a text-file!

SH3Commander changes files and settings used by LSH3.
Therefore there is a special MOD "LSH3_V5.1_SH3_Commander_3.2" which has to be acivated by a seperate JSGME within the SH3Commander-folder.

Ahoy Again, BlueDuck:

I have had a few problems of my own making using LSH3_5.1. I have completely deleted and reloaded from scratch about three times to correct a few issues from the original MOD's alterations that I had made. All of this done from my initial testing of what worked and did not work for me with the various MOD options.

I, after initial testing, I decided to include "an old friend" in the installation of SH3 Commander. I made mistakes that caused issues on the two previous attempts. In the last of my installation attempts, I read the manual once again and realized that the document reference to using SH3 Commander seemed to direct you to install a second application of the JSGME into the SH3 Commander folder (According to the JScones instructions when using multiple copies of SH3 Commander, I have a separate installation of SH3 Commander installed directly into my LSH3_v5.1 game folder.). In that, I have installed a second version of JSGME, added the file folder LSH3_V5.1_SH3_Commander_3.2 only into its MOD file folder and activated the LSH3_V5.1_SH3_Commander_3.2.

I leave that activated when using SH3 Commander with my copy of LSH3_v5.1 of SIlent Hunter III (I use MultiSh3's). All of the other LHS3 MODs in the v5.1 downoad are activated/deactivated via the initial JSGME app in my LSH3_v5.1 game folder outside of the SH3 Commander file folder contained within my LSH3_v5.1 game folder of SIlent Hunter III.

Before I become deeply immersed in gameplay and building a career I have to ask, AM I DOING THIS CORRECTLY OR HAVE I GOT THE INSTRUCTIONS WRONG?

I am still working out the best order of installation for the other MOD's I owuld like to activate within the download to allow them to work properly and contiue to search through the forums for answers to my questions to avoid unnecessary postings.

I saw one posting reference the issue of using the "no crew fatigue" MOD contained in the LSH3_v5.1 download and the SH3 Commander option of "no crew fatigue". I am not sure that I saw a definitive answer. Are you supposed to activate both the MOD and the SH3 Commander option or just one of the two and, if so, which one is reccommended?

Hello Ekaton,

well you will have to remove the LSH3-installation completely (files- and documents-folder, registry) but be aware not to remove the GWX-settings!!!

Basically I suggest to do a plain SH3-installation (patched to V1.4, NO-DVD, Starforce-free) and start it.
If it works fine do a backup copy and use this one for any further "installations" (just copy it to a new folder)!!

I greatly appreciate your timely response to my inquiries. I tried some things while waiting for a posted response and, just as you have indicated, those installations were installed as described and things seem to be working well thus far (I am only on my third patrol having transferred to Wilhelmshaven after my first patrol). Though I was sent out from WIlhelmshaven with a "null" PQ I did follow my transmitted orders to patrol the area of quadrant AM18 and to maintain station until I received further orders.

Those orders came with intelligence that a small, four ship British convoy would be traversing my patrol area on Sept. 3. Sure enough, there they were, ready for the taking (though they were without escort and I had been submergerge for hours before they were picked up on sonar, the ships were already following a zig-zag defensive course without knowing my type VII was laying in wait).

LSH3_v5.1 MOD has great graphics, the ship details are wonderful to look at, the ports with their marine locks and animated additions and sounds just make this such an immersive experience. I have been playing SH3 for the last few years under the GWX environment but, after only playing the LSH3_v5.1 for a week or so, I am truly enjoying the MOD's environmental experience. Thanks to all members of the LSH3 MOD team for a fantastic MOD and to all of the SUbSim members that contribute in their own way to the SH3 experience in all of its facets.

With regard to the installation order of the various MOD's within LSH3_v5.1, I have read the documentation as to the suggested order. I think the problems I have run into were more my fault than anything. I found my understanding a bit fuzzy when I began to activate several of the included MOD's together, many of which suggested that their particular MOD should be loaded "last". Testng by activating them individually and then combining them sequentially in various pairings after re-reading the suggestions in the documentation, I think I have what I wish to use operating properly.

After a few more patrols and some more experimentation, I will attempt to incorporate SH3 Generator for a test and will let you and the forum members know what I experience. Should I run into any other issues with MOD activation order, I will be sure to contact you.

I do have one last question/comment though. I am using the Hi-Res-Fix and just noticed that when employing the CTRL+F11 buttons to record a screen shot, the bitmap image it generates crops several inches of the image on the right hand side of the screen completely off. The right margin includes the image of my Engineering officer but everything to the right of that icon is missing. Perhaps that function has always caused this effect, but I have only recently noticed this since installing LSH3_v5.1 and once again getting caught up in SH3 gameplay once more.

"PQ NULL" is a known issue if you make changes to crew, weapons or the u-boat itself BEFORE the first patrol!
If you start a new career DO NOT improve the u-boat, drive your first patrol, then transfer to your desired base and THEN do the improvements you want to.

Concerning TRANSFER we meanwhile recommend to exit and reload the career after you see the popup-windows "New base ...".
This seems to be necessary because sometimes SH3 does not realize and save all the changes.
This also applies to "New base ..." during the patrol: save the game and exit, then reload.

For screenshots we recommend external tools like Howie's Quick Screen Capture Tool: (http://www.howiesfunware.com/install%20-%20Howies%20Screen%20Capture.exe) or PicPick (http://www.nteworks.com/download/download_cn_35283431.html) (see http://www.picpick.org/).
Both have adjustable hotkeys and allow to set the quality of the screenshot.
I prefer PicPick because it has some more other features.

For Windows 7, in case you get full black screenshots, it might be necessary to adjust the properties of the SH3.EXE:
- right-click the icon for the program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.
- set "Disable desktop composition" and it should do fine!

you can allways comtinue a cereer within a new version of a MOD - if you have finished your last patrol in harbour. The only thng that doesn't work is to load a "savegame" under the new version.

I have been playing around with this mod for the past few days and its quite lovely, I really enjoy the improved graphics that it offers. I do have a question though, is it possible to get the map charts in English? I cant read german lol :( Also I am having some problems with Thomsens Sound Pack and this mod, some of the sounds do not play ie "Torpedo in the water." These are very minor complaints though, and I cant wait for LSHv6!

Sure! The way I got the soundpack to work was to take each of the officer's message cfg file (ie message_WE.cfg) from a gwx install, back up the lsh3 ones, and paste the gwx ones into the data/cfg folder. So far so good! Thanks for the info about the new charts! cant wait, I just made my first pass through the kiel docks today, a little scary lol.

thanks! unfortuatly the limits of the laptop are with the drivers. The only way to add new ones is if samsung releases an update, (not nvidia) i cant backdate the drivers either, as of now the only version available is the one the computer shipped with. first i tested it with stock, and was getting the same result, then i deleted everything, reinstalled the game and tried stock again, it worked, then i installed lsh3 into the directory but didnt enable any mods and the boxes reappeared :(

but you did not follow one of the most important instructions for Vista and Win7: "Very Important: for Windows 7 and VISTA the game must not be installed into the given destination folder!" (See page 6!).


As far as you have realized JSGME is not able to activate the MODs into "C:\Program Files"!

Copy or move your installation to "C:\ubisoft\ Silent hunter III" or "D:\ubisoft\ Silent hunter III"

Ok progress made! Problem was I was using JSGME incorrectly. I now get the living silent hunter III screen on game launch and initial game menu with "living silent hunter" on the bottom banner. All good so far but when I launch a single mission it loads the mission to nearly 100% on the progress bar and then "Silent Hunter III has stopped working" message. Updated driver NVIDIA Ge FOrce GT620 306.97. 3Gb RAM. Ideas?

As he writes in his first post of his release-thread, this mod is made for SH3.

hello all,

After a few years away from SH 3, I learned of this mod and had to give it another go....:arrgh!:

Install seemed to go ok and on load up in the Command Room I thought...WOW!

Then I went on deck, my sea sucks! There's a black line runs off to the horizon at approx. 45 degrees from port side which moves around as I view and the wave textures seem hit and miss...inconsistent at best. Every other aspect seems great but does this sound like graphic tearing? or something else?

I've tried all sorts of searches and tried various different settings adjustments in nvidia settings and the 'Inspector' downloaded app. But am not getting anywhere. The tearing isn't evident in stock SH3 sea :wah:

I'm running a laptop with:-
Intel i5-3210M
GeForce GT 640M 2 GB
8 GB memory
Windows 7

I get a reading of 6.9 in Windows performance raating for gaming graphics. Please tell me I can run this mod!!! And then tell me how! :03:
And yes, it is switching to the graphics card via Optimus....I have downloaded all/installed all such as 4GB upgrade, DX9 etc

but I cannot start a new career as UBoot type box is empty

in the folder MultiSH3/SH3(GWX) it works perfectly

Had this checked and still it's in letter box on my 17:3 widescreen, this was the same with the vanilla install and now after the LSH3 install with the resfix applied, I know it's not a LSH3 problem as such but as that's the installed mod....

Can anyone tell me how to make it full screen?

My native res in Catalyst is set to 1920 x 1080, changing this to a lower value made no difference.

I'm running Win 7 64bit

Move your LSH3-Installation to "c:MultiSH3/livingsilenthunterIII"!!!

"c: programs(x86)/" is especially protected by Windows 7 UserAccessControl and therefore some copy-jobs (JSGME, SH3Commander) do not work!

in the GWX mod there are these files lacking in the LSH3 mod
menuvariable_en
U-availability

I have two SH3Commander installations
in the LSH3 folder
in the GWX folder
both of them pointing at the right SH3 path

Just started a career with first version and noticed the crew don't get fatigued, is there a mod available that can enable this ? I haven't been here (SHIII forum) for a long time now so forgive me if this has been asked/solved previously. Is there any upgrades that do not contain SHCommander ? (No disrespect to JScones but have had nowt but problems with it unfortunately).

Hi,

there is a MOD called "_LSH3_V5.1__OhneErmuedung". If you have activated this MOD, the crew won't get fatigued. So de-activate this MOD and you will have the Stock Fatigue Modell.

No, didn't work, had to start from scratch with mod disabled but nothing changed. Game not the same without Crew fatigue.

remember, never change a running SH3 installation before you have finished your patrol in base. Purhaps the last patrol is lost and you must start it again.

Hi, I started a career from scratch (even deleted the sh3 folder from my documents), is there a mod I can add that will create crew fatigue ?

Are you using SH3 commander? I use LSH3 5.1 with SH3 commander, where you can set the various fatigue models to over ride the game.

Works great for me.

Oh and to the LSH3 developers, I've been using 5.1 since I purchased the game a few months ago and it is a beautiful mod! Love every bit of it, and thanks for your hard work!

Uuups - you activated nearly everything and may not have had a look at the LSH3_V5.1_MOD-Activation_EN.pdf (http://www.lsh3.com/dl/v5/LSH3_V5.1_MOD-Activation_EN.pdf) - there you can see which MODs should not be activated together.

Also JSGME has got a MouseOverFunction where you can get a quick info about this MOD. Furthermore you can RichtClick an get the ReadMe's.
