stats: well all that most shold know for now is that i am creating a 1:95 model of the tirpitz. and the guns dont use steel balls and co2 it uses an explosive and lead/steel/aluminum rods. it also has a radar, two two-cylender turbines (obviously with two boilers), and one electric powered motor for the middle prop.

With a total of: three night vision cammeras and 20 cell-phone cammeras mounted on a few of the turrets. and it weighs about 400 pounds so far, its only a hull and a few componants.

Lol, I love the pranks they do in the show that is the 2nd link on Niki's post. I believe it is called Naked & Funny (atleast the same guy is in it) and they do pretty dang hilarious pranks to ppl like some unsuspecting gent is coming to a doctor to get a shot, as the patient goes to lay to the bed, the 'doctor' strips herself naked and starts to whip the poor guy. :rotfl:

I was into the subsims since the comodore 64 with silent service 2 (can you believe there was two?), with all that tape playing to throw you off. Then saw ShII on a demo disc and hooked since, just need to find the time to blow the enemy outa the water etc...
I found this forum fairly early on in my sub "career" but never joined, always enjoyed the banter and the historical aspect/information that was revealed. I had two old WWII almost like magazines all about subs that got me interested in the first place, bought then from a second hand book shop.

Thanks. Actually the magazines i was talking about was only one, "Submarines since 1919, Purnells history of the world wars special." "64 pages packed with colour."! I should scan in some pages an stick them up somewhere, some interesting stuff in there besides the pictures. There is a good section on mini-subs, might be an idea for a mini-mod or some single missions...

Since I originally posted the story with my broken elbow in this thread, thought I might as well drop an update here - as of today, I can finally reach my left shoulder with my left hand again, which was pretty much the last checkpoint I set for myself. So I'm almost over the hill with my recovery!

...on the other hand, the amount of work I fell behind on, not the least some articles I promised to write and translate (one of them for Subsim), and my own Masters thesis, have me pretty well horrified, now that I can and must finally work on them :doh:

The is tilt on the steering wheel but i rarely use it.
The truck is what is know as in the British army as a CST a Combat Suport Tanker.Or as the guys that use it call it the Oskosh.
The Tractor unit is American the Tanker is French and the Pumping unit is German.

I belive they drive on the left in Cyprus which if true is bad news for me as i have driven most of my adult life on the right.:oops:

Anyhoo, Im from Canada, and I am in the navy (turns out we have one). Just got back from the gulf and a trip around the world (197 days long). I fix all the weapons aboard the ships. Its kinda odd to come back from a trip to sea and want to pretend to be there again, but its what I do as one of my pass times.
