i have a question : is it not possible to use the full interior mod together with a widescreen mod due to RAM limitations that may cause a CTD or they are simply not compatible ?
I had no problems running wide screen with the full interior views. I have 16G of ram. Sure, loading times are long, but never a crash.
I'm sure others may have problems.

1. How to measure range using periscope view?
2. Is it possible to make Manos widescreen gui version for 1680x1050 resolution for 22" monitors?

I installed WAC a couple of weeks ago and it has been rock steady stable with no CTD to date. I have only had one problem and it is minor and does not happen all the time. Sometimes when I switch to the bridge station The uniforms and faces of the bridge crew seem to take on a neon glow appearance. Sometimes exiting the bridge to another station then coming back the crew appears normal. Sometimes going to mouse look then clicking to lock the view gets rid of it.
I am guessing that it is related to my current video driver or some setting on my Nvidia control panel I have overlooked. If any one else has had this problem and knows how to fix it I'd appreciate knowing how you did it.

ooo nice.. I can't wait to actually do a black sea campaign. I've never done it in any version of SH3. I always started in 1939, never got far enough to consider "completing" a campaign, so I just never even saw the black sea in SH3 :)

I am working on the final sequences, right now I think.
But one thing that I will not do is to write a whole new radio traffic.
Although it would add some immersion - this is too much work.

I believe that if you delete data / Menu / en (de) _menu.txt from the mod, then everything should work out. In case of love, it is very important to register ports 750 =... 764=... correctly, etc. You have a chance to experience it.

I tried to adapt the black sea campaign for WAC. The task was not as simple as at first glance. Many countries that are involved in the GWX project are missing. And therefore you need to add their flags, bases, airfields with ships and aircraft. There is no important participant of those events-the submarine of the class "Schuka" as a part of USSR. Perhaps there is a way to distinguish from all traffic only the Black sea, but I do not know how to do it correctly. But I'm halfway to progress.

Thx I will keep the file. My main prob now is that the mod don't run with or without widescreen (everything I wanna load CTD's at 90%) so maybe I will never be able to use it.:wah:

I have everything up and running...tested on quick mission.
very intense! :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up: smoke so thick you lose sight of your targets.
only problem Im having is landscape is all black...everything else looks great no weird artifacts or glitches, just all black landscape.
any ideas...graphics setting maybe?

yea I can load all the features, missions, campaigns, and academy.
just takes a Looooooooong time to load. it runs beautifully and looks amazing. just cant get rid of that black terrain. tried the patch,...removed all mods but WAC 5.0, patched SH3 exe with 4gig ang without 4gig just using hies, tried both and still black earth:hmmm:
starting another 10 break, will uninstall everything and scrub all traces of sh3
its been quite the Mod Soup, ill post back how it turns out.

I'd run into a number of problems.
Wasn't running as well as I'd thought🤒 DOH!...went back to GWX, for now. I just wish I could get that level of graphics and intense aggressive fire power out of GWX as I saw in WAC... I'll keep trying maybe when I take some time off.

Have a look into the folder NCA_Tuscaloosa.
There is the NCA_Tuscaloosa.cfg which shows the nescessary file names for the campaign files:

It could be every unit causing this CTD. A missing or wrong unit in the campaign files is not very likely, but should be investigated.
OK Which way i'll find what caused the ctd?

That is very difficult to determine!
1. you could try Silen Hunter Validator or mySH3-TooL_v1 to examine campaign file problems
2. you could examine every ship in the scripted campaign file of operation torch manually by opening the properties with me mission editor. If it crahes then there is a wrong ship type.
3. you could do this also with the random campaign file and examine the groups entering operation torch. here you will find problems manually if a ship is chosen in the group which does not exist, then the ship name will change immediately if you open a group.
Otherwise there can be many many things that cause ctd.. a wrong plane eqipment, wrong plane chosen on carrier, etc.

Sometimes the aft deck is even deeper in the sea.
Seems this problem only occurs with the Frog's integrated destroyers

Magui F fix for wac 4.1...this one not sure about being 4.1 so ive run with and without but results the same. I can play missions and training but every time I load a campaign it freezes in the harbor.

Few more questions.
I saw somewhere here (70 pages) about a night effect like a negative photo...im have problems with, I can't find the post.
Still have black terrain. Saw something about FFA? What is that.
was sent to patrol AO98 in september 1939 in my IID, tubes ran dry...used up flak gun.
Had to slink my way into a safe port.
To re_arm. I was sunk soon after being greedy, stupid. 🙄

What year and location.
It might not be all that unusual early in the war to see big ships unescorted.
I took part in the invasion of Poland.
After tubes ran dry I hung out to watch the battles and send contact reports. A lot of big ships making a run for it... Convoys lightly cuverd.

In 1940 near straits of Gibraltar. Still i think these high tonnage ships should have atleast high speed like 15 knots or more.

yea, i think its neutral ships identifying themselves as such, problem is their giving up the location of the convoy, this is a tough one, historically i think neutral countries traveled by convoy but im not sure how in sh3 you could put their lights out...other than sinking em.

Well, if it means anything, last night I was playing the Mittelmeer Campaign and sunk a neutral coastal merchant. It was at night, it was traveling with no lights on, no flag and also had a gun mounted on the stern. Had two large crates, one on the forward hold and the other on the stern hold, possibly hiding additional guns. I honestly thought this was a Q ship. Was able to get within 1800 m submerged before firing torpedoes and was able look over the target minutely.
Not sure if that is how WAC5 sets up neutral shipping, but if a neutral does not want to be sunk, the above scenario would not be the way to travel. I play a lot with NYGM, and have not encountered a neutral ship in transit like the above mentioned.

It affect only type VIIB...not really nice to the eye for the best looking sub ever in SH3! :D

I have the regret to report an other graphic bug with same sub VIIB type...
When you rotate the UZO and leave it, back in the attack periscope view (the one before accessing the TDC) you find the periscope seat rotated same direction you have left the UZO. So far it’s normal.
But the periscope clock cadrant is off its support! In fact it doesn’t follow the periscope rotating and is still in his original position.

The clock support is empty, because the clock cadrant didn't move with the periscope.
Just realised that the periscope buttons didn't follow as well !! ...

I have GWX and NYGM installed with the Compilation 2, and i get those problems...but it’s normal as Anvart just told me (mod not finished)
But WAC doesn’t need this Compilation 2 as it is already included!
And i’m Running WAC only with your WAC mods (except the new SH5 water - but it can’t be problem related)
So i really don’t see what’s going on...
Are you sure you tried the VIIB type??

SOLVED! In fact just had to activate MEP V6 alone at the end of list without any add on for visual sensors.
If activating Visual sensor for WAC 4.1 (found in MEP download) i still get floating ships...
I prefer a lot this way because floating ships are a game breaker for me.
Well, finally got it working pretty stable, but wasn’t easy... :)
It is very computer memory demanding for the least :o
I think my rig is just enough powerful to run it... even TWOS is lighter i think!
TWOS loading times are even faster, that’s quite incredible...

Damage model when depth charged is nice too, and we can at least manage it :D
Now, i think there are way too much life everywhere. But that’s my own opinion.
I had to avoid ennemies for first time in a silent hunter!
Ships are spawning everywhere on my path to my patrol grid (mainly Polish)
And i’m Quite surprised to find plenty escorted Polish convoys in 1939 :o
Anyway, WAC is magnificent and plenty of good surprises...so many little nice touch that are missing in others mega mods :up:

I was looking at the WAC optional mods for Harbor Winter, Xmas Harbor and Late War Harbor thinking I could use the date function in SH3 Commander to set them up to load into WAC automatically at the correct time of the year then revert back to the default look over the other months over the course of the war.
I have another month before I get my leg out of this dam cast so have plenty of time to fool with it. Not sure what would be a good start date for the Late War Harbor mod?

I know this has been written somewhere in this thread but I've somehow missed it That being said, I'm trying to get all my ducks lined up for a run at WAC 5,01. is this the correct instructions for enabling the H.sie patches. I found this on the internet. thank you all for the help.
1 -Copy your original (unpatched) sh3.exe into "V16B1-Patch-Kit"
2- now in "V16B1-Patch-Kit", Start Patch_SH3.bat. If your sh3.exe is compatible, it will be patched.
3- Immer in "V16B1-Patch-Kit", start HsieOptionsSelector.exe in order to individually enable/disable the fixes as you like. This tool also allows to apply the 4GB-Patch.
4- Put the patched sh3.exe von "V16B1-Patch-Kit" into "WAC5.0 H.sie Supplement to V16B1_Atlantic_Baltic_Campaign"
5 - active the mod "WAC5.0 H.sie Supplement to V16B1_Atlantic_Baltic_Campaign" with jsgme

I need some tips or suggestions from u. Ive played now GWX 3.0 and LSH 15 with a VII sub. Now i wanna start a new career with an IX sub for the WAC mod.
So i need ur help: which parts of the mod do i need to install and in which order so that i got a comfortable and stable game (no CTD).
Ive read that both the full interior and the ahnenerbe wont work together. So which one do u prefer ? Walking threw the sub with "low" graphics or the better resolution ?

It seems i found some game loading stability without SH3 Commander.

- is the WAC5 campaign different without SH3 Commander?

Is it normal with stock WAC5?

Something i really like in WAC that i have never seen in any SH so far, it’s the way convoys ships are sailing.
They are not « on rails », meaning they don’t keep exact same heading inside the convoy! And it seems they are changing slightly speed also...to match leader general spead and heading :o
Just as i believe they would have behave in RL...
Not to say it’s way more difficult to hit :D

Yes, since I collected these sounds I can definitely say that it came with Air Torpedo_mod_v2.0_Rubini and was included. You can delete this file.
Is there fortuitously a detailed installation guide where i can retrace step by step how to install/enable the mods...from vanilla sh3 with patch 1.4b to fully WAC 5.01 ?

A couple of questions.
1. I don't see an AOB disc anywhere. Just want to make sure this is not my mistake.
2. On the navmap there is a pull down disk near the top center. It is clear, but has two sets of marks from 0-360. It looks exactly like the disk in SH5 where you can hold the control key down and roll the mouse, causing one of the scales to rotate. This allows you to get the true bearing to the target. I really liked that feature. On this map, however, it does nothing. Is there a secret key to turn the outer dial?
3. What is the best way to figure out true bearing? I mean if my ship is facing heading 275 and I see a ship bearing 5 degrees, I know on the map it would be at 280.. other versions of the game have this built into the map when you zoom in so you can see your ships bearing.. Is there a method that I am missing?
Sorry if I'm not clear. I love the mod! I've chosen to go with the widescreen and not the full interior, also I am not running SH3 Commander. Game seems great!

I still do not see an AOB dial anywhere. Perhaps this is not part of the mod?
Also, question #2 is I'm guessing just not functional in SH3 as it is in SH5. I will find a better way to work with what I have! :Kaleun_Cheers:

Hi Jeff,i recomended you to install one of these,depending on the resolution of the monitor-Magui F with WAC fix,Widescreen Magui F for WAC or Optimized Ahnenerbe Widegui for WAC
Is it correct to assume "Magui F with WAC fix" is for standard (non widescreen?) resolution?
I could not find "Widescreen Magui F for WAC" anywhere :(
I do have the "Optimized Ahnerbe Widegui for WAC" I just wish I could add an AOB dial :)

With optimized ARB ahnenerbe widegui for wac5 :
For aob dials, go to command room f2, left clic on shoot officer, then with the mouse go on top of the screen and you will have 3 différent aob dial.
If you left clic on card officer, on top right you will have another dial.
And of course you have aob rings inside periscope f3 at top, same at obs periscope.
:-)
All tools from Magui F (thanks makman !) are in optimized ARB ahnenerbe widegui for wac5.

Hello everyone. I absolutely love this add-on for SH3!
However, I seem to have hit a snag in early 1939. Loading a previous game causes a CTD. I keep about 4 saves in chronological order, each one far enough away from the previous save such that if one save crashes I can move "away" from that area and pick up a previous save.
This time it did not work, each and every save caused a CTD during loading.
Ironically, I think I had used at least one of those saves previously to get into the game, so the save itself doesn't seem to bad. I just seems like once the game decides to to this (CTD during load) it doesn't matter how many saves you have.
I even tried changing some of the mods, thinking maybe one was causing it, but nope..
If anyone has any ideas/solutions, it is greatly appreciated.
For now I'm going to start with a complete re-install.

When a save CTD, usually second load try right away is successful...but with more than 8 minutes each time, it’s annoying :yep:

I'll remove the penguins you have there and replace with placement nodes to call them.
I'll also be doing some animation work so they move about.
Animations seem to scare people so where better to play with them?

i think if you add that optional mod from MEP it will mess up your colors, they wont look like in the original mod .
if you have nvidia just make sure AA is max at 4x and gamma correction is off and the sun will not be small .

So i seems lost my digital SH3 copy , bought SH3 on Uplay , When i launch game it says v1.4, but i cant patch sh3.exe with V16B1-Patch-Kit that is included with WAC 5.0 install, in my SH3 folder i have sh3.exe and sh3_g.exe and i cant patch them... I get this "Sorry, no compatible version of sh3.exe found

Thanks, bought another SH3 on steam that seem to be working, now another problem i have that i just cant manage to get some sort of Anti Aliasing working in this game i tried throught NVIDIA Control Panel Enhance and Override 8x Anti Aliasing and 8x SuperSample without any luck , from photos of Unofficial "Official" SH3 screens thread i saw u guys manage to get perfect AA , but how ? :k_confused:
And shouldnt St. Nazaire , Lorient , Brest be available in 1940 ? for me they are only available in 1941.

Is there any fix for U-boat bow foam sound when stationary or submerged , sometimes i hear a loud bow foam like im sailing, but im stationary or submerged at 0 knots is there any fix ? :hmmm: The bug disappears when i surface and change speed of engines and then stop them. Anyone ? :06:

Is it normal when i crash like 70% of trying to load a saved game ? It loads up to 90% in the loading screen and then CTD.

I just cant get this awesome Mod to run stable no matter what ?
Han would be cool if you would add more aircraft ? I only see like two types of aircraft. Needs a bit more variety and make them so they get spotted closer.
I noticed that it's very easy to escape destroyers just go 1 knot and silent running and you are always safe.

CaptJulius, are you using the LAA (Large Address Aware) (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=2452635#post2452635) applet with your SH3? Also, if your Save is from a different set-up than what you are running, that can cause issues.

Are you testing wac5.2 or it is wac5.1 ?
1940-1941 around 120 meters wind not higher then 10m/s. Wac 5.2 i think I am using mep

1941 June, hunting with my IXC near Africa Freetown , noticed many times that some ships sink on their own with some time or some get stuck like above water , is this common bug ? Also destroyers tend to sink alot like Flower class corvette or C , V , W class destroyers they just sink on their own. :k_confused:

in wac5 without sh3 commander, 3rd Flotilla is availaible from 01/1942 but you are right :
with sh3 commander (+WAC_5.0_CommanderMod) 3rd Flotilla is available only from 01/1943....I dont' know why lol :k_confused:

be careful in wac5 without sh3 commander, you can't select 3rd Flotilla before 01/1942 too. 1939-1940-1941 it is not possible because La Rochelle basis no built. (Even if in real 3rd Flotilla has moved there in 11/1941)
and with sh3 commander you have to wait 1 more year : available only at 01/1943 that is the mistery lol

1944 SW from England, there are a lot of different types of aircraft ! For me it is good !
And go near Scapa Flow 1940, you will have a lot of planes and different types too :-)

Amazing work. Did you created the models yourself? Because they look beautifull.The patrol boats look good and more merchants is great, because we can't never have enough targets. I didint knew that we are getting this big of expansion. I need to test the black sea campaign.
P. S Would be nice to have wac 5.0 environment with ships over horizon feature like mep v6.

Something i noticed every time i go back to base from patrol:
Approaching Wilhelmshaven at TC X32, i get a sound bug (like a huge « pschuuuuut ») and i can see in my binoculars boats in fire in the harbor...with red flares fired everywhere.
I suppose it’s a spawning issue in the harbor, because no ennemies around (ships or aircrafts)
There are so many ships in and around harbor, it’s kind of normal such issue happen :yep:
Maybe reducing the number of boats and activity in harbors could lighten the game for everyone, and avoid spawning issue...(not say occasional CTDs)

It will be a big expansion with over 5p nrw units.

The burning ships in harbours have to do with the numbers, time compression and distance to the pier. All this together means.. To avoid the burning ships there it is necessary to use time compression with only 8x at around 50km around big harbours.

Ok this time i came back with TC X8 but still big mess in Wilhelmshaven...
At exact 24km from harbor i got huge sound bug and smoke in harbor (X mark)
I went back outside the circle, and tried again to see if i could reproduce it.
Second time at exact same distance got the sound bug again...and probably more damage inside harbor.

I just can't come back at TC1, it's too much time waster.
In my opinion, you really should try to decrease the harbor ships number.
Why not make an add on mod with less boats in harbor?
WAC is so beautiful, but this issue is immersion killer IMHO :yep:
PS: I can go TC X125 radius 35 Km from harbor without any issue. After that i went X8

this is a without full map version.
1900x1080 widegui + full map eats a lot of RAM and can cause CTD or other problems.
in all other harbours, no problem with ARB widegui 1900x1080

Exact same trouble when approaching Wilhelmshaven even at TC X8. Sound bug and ships in fire in harbor when passing the 24 Km line.
So it’s not a RAM problem.
My new PC has 16 Gb Ram and video card is a 6 GB.
Plus have the 4 Gb patch activated.

1-you are testing an old wac5.2 not yet stable patch.
2-to test wac5.2, you have to delete "Campaign_SCR.mi" in "WAC5.0 H.sie Supplement to V16B1_Atlantic_Baltic_Campaign"
3-be careful if you are starting a patrol from Wilhelmshaven base with ARB widegui : http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2585827&postcount=1210

Option sh3 commander "start at sea" does not work yet with wac5.

Actually sea start at can work. I plugged in a Lat and Long from the campaign editor and it worked. This was at Kiel and I put the start point a little farther up in the channel from the dock and it put me right there when it started. How ever it looked pretty silly with the crew still standing tall on the deck 5 klicks from the dock! I just modified the start at sea cfg in sh3 commander.

Yes, that’s what i thought... just a nice coincidence :)
But in real life, destroyers were rescuing survivors each time :yep:

About the Wilhelmshaven bug on come back, this time i tried to come back without any time compression from 51km of Harbour...and still have the big mess :yep:
So this is definitely not time compression related...but more of a spawning issue imho.

it is not a stupid but a very good question !
I think now all is inklusiv in wac5.2, (no campaign mod needed anymore)
Outdated "WAC5.0 Campaign_Atlantic_Baltic" and "WAC5.0 Campaign_Mediterranean" mods must not be activated in jsgme any more.
Hansolo will probably enlighten us on this.

Well.. in that case you play with SH3 stock campaign files, except the harbours and buildings.
But you do not have the historical events,no harbour traffic, no big convoys, not much random traffic, probably no torpedo planes, etc.
