The aim of the binocs of the Watch Officers is low and are pointing down :nope:, in SH3 the aim of the binocs is horizontal, this flaw must be fixed

Are you present to point out or just relying on AI sight?

It will make a world of difference. :salute:

I use jpegs for wallpaper all the time. I suppose one could use an onboard program to convert them for personal use.

It seems to be an animation problem.
It may seem strange?
But the animations might be easier to correct in SH5.
The format is exportable and understood,
as compaired to the SH4 encoded format which remains unknown in most areas.

It's not a moon, it's a feature - called external camera zoom. :D

@ Otto: One cannot say they want immersion and then complain about seeing something that actually flew from these ships. Keep the flag. :sunny:

On the other hand, I like the Up/Down that Anvart created for SH3, because they normally didn't fly the flag while out on patrol. In a crash-dive situation the flag would be left to fend for itself, and they didn't risk that. Normally the flag was only flown when entering or leaving harbor, or to identify your sub to friendly ships.

Just my opinion, of course.

I agree. They didn't fly them during patrol, but I think that everyone here understands that it is the historical Kriegsmarine flag. The rule against the swastika applies to forum signatures, but it is fine in an in-game screenshot as you have.

I tweaked my camera angular angle and added 4 zooms.It can zoom from 3,5,7 up to 15X ...I uploaded my file and you can use it(it's for widescreens with ratio 8:5 aka 1680X1050).Or you can use it for reference and tweak your cameras.cam as you prefer...:salute:

external cam in my UIs mod contains zoom levels of 1,2,4,8,16, and 32X if you're using it (the mod). Use the mouse wheel to scroll through the zoom levels.

nothing wrong with Video you can follow the attack OK. you might get some stick about you chioce of first tunes they were all british war related tunes.you wasted torps on second salvo as she was going down anyway but good if this was you first go keep it up:up: And dont put yourself down Otto your pictures have all been great and I'm sure you Videos will work out great.:salute:

They say that 1 image count as 1000 words. Well, is not the case in SH5. These images cannot cover the real deal, especially if the game is projected on the wall in a room with some pro surround sound system. At some point I felt wet, cold and even.. sea sick. Is just hard to describe in words the storm I encountered after a meeting with the resupply ship in the middle of south Atlantic. SH5 + W_Clear Enviro Mod = Perfect Storm.

Yeah the damage shown isn't really realistic but we have to work with what Ubi gave us. At least it shows some kind of damage now.

After 5 hours of chase and hunting here are my numbers:
Merchant sunk 4 and 2 damaged, Battery 0%, Co2 12%, Torpedoes 0, DD´s 5 and depth charges....hundreds...(and just to blame somebody...it´s you :D:D, the IRAI unmodified makes my life harder :damn::damn::damn: )
Man, your work is brilliant :yeah:, those dammed DD´s found me at 150/170 mts in silent running :o I think that somewhere I have read that IRAI can be tweaked to make it less harder :hmmm:
Moreover my skills... lets say that the kriegsmarine wouldn´t let me put a single foot in an U-boat :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Once again, sorry for derailing this thread for a minute....

You can make the change with the mod enabled. This will be a temporary change then and will disappear when you disable the mod. This is good for testing what you want the final values to be. Once you have the values where you want then to make the changes permanent:
- disable IRAI via JSGME
- edit your MODS\IRAI_x_x_x_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scripts\AI\in it.aix file with the values you decided on (you can open it up with notepad). Save it.
- reenable the IRAI mod

I don't think i need to. There have been plenty of threads knocking this game as it is. But i will restate my thought in another way.

The gameplay, does not match the graphics.

I really don't think there's any arguing that, and that is something i do lament. The graphics are stunning, (this thread is testament to that) but the gameplay or the underlying mechanics of the sim, isn't anything new or improved when all is said and done. Infact, many old features are missing.

And the night sky. It occurred to me the other day, what if to make the game really hardcore you had to take star/sun readings to plot your position? I mean some flight simulators are so authentic that at 100% realism you have to pretty much be pilot to succeed in the missions. Sorry, just a random thought.
Mods already exist for SH3 and SH4 to do just that. In fact someone even made a sextant for SH3. It should be doable for SH5 based on that fact alone, and it may even be possible for modders to do it better with SH5's scripting.

On the other hand it would take a lot of work, and would be better if built right into a game rather than added on afterwords.

Was stalking this guy when he detected me and made a full speed run to try and ram me. Was at periscope depth and didn't have time to dive deeper so ahead flank, hard to port. He just missed me (ramming) and started to circle back for a DC attack when I made a snap-shot with a stern torp and blew a big hole right in the middle of him at the waterline. Mess with the bull you get the horns :arrgh!:

In theory red flare is danger signal and white flare is used to lighten up the battle scene. So red flare should be used by the merchants and the white one by the escorts. In FX the red flare is just a visual eye candy, will not affect the AI response in any way ...

I think I know what you're talking about. You're probably seeing a starshell. Currently one ship can fire starshells with the FX Update mod. It will fire a starshell in your direction when it detects you and will keep firing them at a certain time interval.

Happened with me 2. Almost crashed into a merchant and thats only W_Clear and his mod fault :up:

Best part in the Enviro mod latest release is that I can surface in the middle of a convoy and do some major trouble by unloading all my ammo without the escorts buzzing me. Escaping alive, its another story.

I like the shot though, the way the sub looks when it surfaces or dives is one of the many reasons I can never bring myself to disable the external camera.
