This was U-34 sneaking in to Scapa on patrol 3. Found a Queen Mary BS and a V&W Desttroyer in here and sank 'em both. (The escape from the harbour was a bit hairy though!):DL

Patrol 4, and sporting a nice new paint job, heading from Kiel to Eastern UK for some more hunting fun! This patrol up to now has yielded a Small Modern Composite, but it is early days yet.

Running silent away from a searching V&W destroyer after launching a decoy. The AI is realistically able to detect you with IRAI unlike vanilla SH5 so watch out if you try that mod!!

Very nice shots :up:, the SH5 stock dynamic shadows are ugly and very much blurred, the shadows in your screenshots apparently have been modified because have a much better look

Is the sub from SH 4 U-boat Missions?? Looks very good. What about it's functionality, does it work like other AI subs? Are there many .dat restrictions (not transparent through water and so on.) Anyway good work, you should make a mod with all this new stuff. :yeah:

Use the keys W, A, S and D. This is the way all the first-person shooter games do it, so they changed it to make it like those games. Also if you use the key F1 you will get a picture that shows most of the keys and what they do in the game.

Dunno if this would help, might be a bit of an insane idea but Id say head SouthWest until you hit coastline and then North until you come around that little peninsula up top to get your bearings. Of course, that IS assuming that you didnt lose yourself somewhere way outside of that circle :)

The problem was i was underneath that peninsular . So the land should of been on my left heading west . The land was on my right and i got confused for a while . Easy over christmas if you know what i mean .

It was sittting in the air for quite awile . when the bow stared to go under those deck guns went even higher into the air until the ships bow started to slip into the sea .. . I sliced it right in half with a razor sharp torpedo .. :woot:

SEEK AND DESTROY ! FLASH BISMARK IS SAVED , Whilst the British sent two battleships to sink the Bismark , U-68 Kaulen and crew while risking their lives helped narrow down the British Hunter by effectivley tracking and anticpating the HMS RODNEY .. U-68 Kimura says at one point we were on the surface and the HMS RODNEY MADE SOME EFEECTIVE HITS ON THE HULL OF , U-68 . The Captain OF U-68 was brave and determeind to relive the pressure on the Bismark .. . HE I shot a salvoe of for torpedoed ttwo hit and the other two missed , I did not calculate a accrate soulution thus had I the time I could have destroyed the rodney alot quicker , AT one time there was destroyer racing towards me , when I noticed the Destroyer completely disappeared .. (the Bismark got a direct hit on the destoyer ) It went up in flames , WOW I sunk the rodney !! A WOOOO HOOOO , That was the very first time I Ever played that scnenario .. :rock:

Today i went out like WOW.

I returned from a heavy patrol and i had nothing left. I went to Wilhelmshaven and above my surprise their were Britisch Destroyers in my port :S

So i reloaded my save refit at another harbour and went out to destroy.

I killed like 5 destroyers and I saw at my port to steam in to. That there was a Queen Elizabeth Battleship ???
When i wanted to picture it i got a CTD. I came back submerged in my own port and everything was alright. No enemies and what so on...

I think this is caused by the spawn nodes.
They are nodes the spawn units from the nearest spawn gen (where convoys form).

Those hits were as I was diving from afar , I had already plotted its course and went for that line at flank speed, submerged .. I shot my first torpedo becuase I had already plotted a souluitioin , but what was very surprising I was moving at flank spped .. Luck shot . I shot mysecond topedo but she had moved quite a distance . the second torpedo was shot from that last soulution that I plotted and it hit with luck hit the stern .. as you can see from the pics the rodnesy guns were turned away from my sub, as she was firning on the bismark . I had seen a destroyer coming towards me very fast and I noticed a big explosion .. The bismark landed a direct hit on the destroyer and sank her , blew it up .. Ill tell you this I was very surprised .. alot of luck .. anyone else sink the rodney in this mission ? it felt good ! :rock:

I was using TDWS fx testing scenario and manged to kill these two guys within 30 mins .. The destroyer that is face down in the water I used a magnetic shot to the bow and blew off the BOW ! , Than I stayed behind the sunken up-right destoryer and sent another eel to the swan destroyer .. :yeah:

I am using Dynamic Environments SH5 Basemod (normal) and after that I use stoianm realistic color exterior mod (low color)v1. I use this because it makes the color tint look like more reality than a game. Low is good, normal and high tend to add too much red to things.

I haven't tried any other Environment mods, this one got me hooked and runs great on my system. I also use the Environments SH5 Basmod Bright nights, it brights up the nights a little, just enough. I still love the nights in Environment SH5 mod, they tend to be dark.

Yeah they are from The Beast Equipment Upgrade, its called tiger stripes. Also you should have a camo skin that came with the game. Its unlockable through the Uplay main screen when you start SH5. You use your points to get it.

If that's your JSGME list currently I would say it needs some help. V0.2.0 of my UIs mod? Get rid of it. And you have v6.3.7 in there...current version is 6.9.0. There's no reason to be using older versions of the UIs mod.

oh, the 2.0 was from SH5 1.0 ... I actually patched just so I could get your mod ... and am SO glad I did .... but I thought it was the latest ... I got it from your profile page when clicking on your 'Downloads' :

I went through both pages of the 58 listed Interface mods (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=cat&id=87) and didn't see 6.9.0, but did see at the top your 2.0 version , no matter how I choose to sort it ... by DLs, or date, nor could I find 6.9.0 in the 57 mods listed under Gameplay mods (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=cat&id=81)

I probably would use the latest versoin of your mod ( 6.9.0 ) if it was easier for me to find, ... but my IQ is only around room temp ....

8m -- 24ft, I usually use imperial, I'm a ft and inches man, what I do is set order to periscope depth then press A button to hold depth just as conning tower is half way down, then move to conning tower, and try to sneak my way along, works fine.

Its is alot of work to track and intercept a convoy .. , but when you do you can fry eggs on a ship and have some good breakfast , In this attack I left my emotions out of it and got three ships I had to take a picture of this one because U - 77 Loves to fry eggs . Its really awesome when there are no escorts in a convoy.. I had a Ai U-boat with me doing some damage .. Such a great sim have fun and enjoy !

Oh, don't know really. Excuse my ignorance, but I didn't really know that yellow stripe significants U-Boot in training or something like that as mentioned by Commander Mysenses. Or is it U-Boot crew in training? If you can provide further details I'll be happy to learn guys. But anyway I just started my absolutely first career in SH5 (SH4 completed, SH3 in December 1941 if I remember correctly my last savegame there) since the game just got into a very well playable state (thanks to all the modders, my deepest respect). And I just tried to grab some camo available in the menu, I picked those stripes there and somehow it ended up like this. No camo and yellow stripe over the conning tower instead. I'm planning to doublecheck when I get back from my first patrol (if I get back, well-Sept.1939 so I should, 40000 tons sunk so far) and do something with it, because I'd love to differ my sub somehow. And yes, I love taking screenshots, I don't use any other wallpapers on my desktop but screenshots. And with that camera zoom in modified SH5 well...can't help myself. Glad you like it, thank you.

I'm addicted to screenshots too ... for all my titles ... it is like a disease for those that are addicted ... getting the right angle and setting, it's kinda like being a photographer in a way .... I have thousands of screens some saved as far back as when Quake I first went to GL back in 97 ... I just save em, and revisit every reload of OS or so .... this game is just about as beautiful (thanks to enviro mods) as FSX ... which is why this wake thing is buggin me. I don't know what is causeing this 'big paintbrush effect' on my wake:

Go for it. I got back to SH after relatively long time. I played SH3 since the day it was released, then I've started completely new and "sharp" career with GWX and now I have my last and backuped savegame somewhere in Decemeber 1940..Or 1941 already? Can't remember now to be honest. In the meantime I've completed my career in SH4 and enjoyed it very much. It was kind of easier, japanese destroyers were not delivering that kind of hell like allies in the Atlantic. But then I didn't get back to SH3, got busy in work etc. And honestly - speaking for myself here - I have to have the right mood to play SH. I simply need to get into it properly. I can't play this game for half an hour or one hour every day. I always cared about immersion so when I turn SH game on I go for hours - the whole night for example. And since SH5 was unplayable after its release, I had SH4 completed, but busy in work - not the right constellation to get back to SH3, there was nothing to play. I was only visiting Subsim thinking 'ok, let's see if this game is still alive', checked some discussions, observed the screenshots, but then I've always found something distracting, like somebody posting about something still broken and I always thought I'm not gonna play it when this or that is not working or implemented at all. I was horrified when I installed SH5 first time and there was no depth under keel, no return to course etc etc. It felt like alpha version of the game or what. But now it's the right time for me again, I have time to enjoy being at the sea again. And it's thanks to all the modders here. I just have to thank you in every post guys for your amazing and enthusiastic work. So yes, do give it a try. I think SH5 is definitely in more than very well playable state right now, at least I haven't noticed any disturbing or game/immersion braking bugs. And with all that eye candy and sound mods it could be a real jewel one day. Good luck.

Not to be Off Topic, but speaking of SH3 GWX thats one I can't wait to play when I get my new computer, I mean as much as Im looking forward to 5, I looked at some of the new hardcode fixes that popped up since Ive been gone and just can't wait to get at it, and 4, and 5 .. *sigh* there go my liberty weekends:arrgh!:

Oh and beautiful screenshots, Im using some as a desktop right now. Funny enough, I get a nice big WTF from people when I boot up my computer and they see a German U-Boat on my desktop, half don't even know what it is :P

I was down to my Aft Torp when I was on my way back to rearm and I come across a convoy on my way back, so I thought i'd try my luck and take one out and get out of there. I spotted a tanker right smack in the middle of 'em so naturally I wanted to sink her due to her weighing more of course. So I carefully got in behind the convoy, started to get in position to fire my Aft Torp... Hoping to at least hit the side of the stern I lined up the shot and fired. This was the outcome, unfortunately I didn't take anymore screenshots of the convoy as I didn't think i'd be posting it here! In hopes that it would have made her gradually come to a halt so I could finish her off away from the rest of the convoy, she sped up ahead of the convoy... and boy was I pissed off lol. Still I was proud that I managed to position myself behind the convoy without being detected and managed to hit my target! (I'm still rather new to the game, so yeah :D)

Right. I've just created something. Let me tell you I'm no video editing wizard, I simply like messing around with Movie Maker so this is kind of beginner's stuff. As you can expect it is mixed with appropriate music and I'd like to state here in advance that voices from the soundtrack will most likely not correspond with action on the screen. I'm fully aware of that, just consider the spoken audio as an atmosphere enhancement. It can not be deleted, because it is a part of the soundtrack and I wouldn't even want to, because it feels good in my opinion. German speaking natives will understand every single word so I'm not sure whether it's gonna have the right feel for you guys. But like I said - for example I know in the movie and soundtrack they're encountering destroyer while in my video it's completely different vessel. Repeat again - I know all that, just to avoid further comments about inaccuracy. My aim was to make it feel right ok? And if there are some mistakes in the subtitles then bear with me again - you know where I come from:salute: I hope you enjoy, watch in HD if possible. I had to split it in two parts since Movie Maker is kind of buggy and I had difficulties saving the whole 18 minute thing so it's coming in two parts. On the other hand I somehow like WMM for its 'easy to understand' interface which is for movie editing rookies like myself. I did sink them during my regular campaign gameplay, but I was planning to make some video as it is great fun for me during these long winter nights. So I had to do my job as a captain but I also needed to shoot some sequences for my future video. So it was a bit hairy sometimes, but no loading at all. They are in my captain's log and I'm carrying on with my first patrol which is quite long already - left Kiel 3rd of September 1939, now it's early November (two refits so far in Helgoland and Wilhelmshaven + radiogram announcing Wilhelmshaven as my new base). Anyway I hope you'll enjoy this anyway. Have fun.

Edit: If you see any minor stutters, which you will, then it is due to the upload. It's completely smooth on the original videos I have here.

U-21 making its way to Wilhelmshaven after her first war patrol which was definitely successful. The crew of U-21 proved more than capable of handling their duties. The sea was calm and since we had german destroyers in sight the atmosphere inside the boat was quite relaxed. Guys will never have enough of that Tipperary song...

However when we approached Frisian Islands the conditions at the sea have changed rapidly and there was one last adventure ahead of us. Everyone inside the boat was holding whatever he could. Lots of things which were not attached or mounted got smashed. There was even slight injury when one of the new guys who was experiencing this for the very first time hit the water tap with his head. Hinrich had to patch him up.

And finally U-21 has made it. All men can not wait to get some decent meal. It's been too long for the first war patrol. Two months with two refits at Helgoland and Wilhelmshaven.

Second patrol was much shorter. Some seventeen days only, the crew was relieved that there's another one month break ahead of them. However it meant around 30.000 BRT sunk for U-21 and that's not bad. Finally U-21 is back at sea commencing her third patrol. We've received new propellers (that's why there was that weird noise during silent running last time). And we've got new camouflage as well which guys are very excited about except for Frenssen. No surprise he only farted saying "man, it's just a colour, but still the same coffin we're trapped in".
