Heh, I recall an incident at...I think it was Bath MPD where a 7F coming off shed derailed its tender, only a minor derailment but it was enough to block the road into and out of the shed and cause a mornings worth of chaos.

They should never have closed that railway...it was a beautiful line...

After pulling General Lutz, and general Kleist's panzerarmees out of a encirclement in Arlon, after defeating the french in luxembourg, tho I didnt expect my infantry to break after a counter attack... something I should have seen coming.:oops: Tho soon after the french were encircled, almost all the french army was stuck in belgium, broken, and surrendered into what is now the Vichy french.

So much for Germany Kicking france's ass in Blitzkrieg.

I'm currently playing HOI2 as USSR. Building up my border forces in the West to prepare for the eventual German onslought (as well as getting in a quick 10 Motorized Divisions into Finland to end the Winter War pre-maturely).

Suddenly, I see German Units on my borders in Poland.. S**T! the Krauts are here already I'm thinking.. So deciding to check on how far they've gone West towards the channel I check..

What do I see? France has control over almost all of Austria, has control of Berlin and has almost pushed the German forces out of Germany and into Poland (they're beginning to encircle Warsaw..) AND its January of 38'!

This is what 10 years did to the mighty empire of Austria....

For years I had been ignoring them, with interests elsewhere, but preparing for the eventual unification of Germany I noticed they were allied with Burgundy... having a reconquest and insult Casus Belli I decided to gamble a bit and declared war, hoping my good relations, Royal Marriages and etc would deter Burgundy from attacking... I was right...

In the ensuing war Austria was destroyed badly, their technically inferior army proved no match and they were soon put at the mercy of me.

With no interests in their lands I decided for an infamy-free peace treaty and ordered several minors to be released. Austria was split pretty badly, but the war must of seriously destabilized them because not long after the entirety of the remaining Austrian lands broke into rebellion... a Pretender marched on Vienna, Nationalist armies popped up... it was a major and complete Rebellion and Austria just didn't have the troops to stop it.

In 1638 the war finally ended for Austria... it lost its empire, the King even lost his crown with a Pretender taking it.

You're right Raptor, its ToW2 Kursk '43, with the new Battle For Caen addition. You can get the whole ToW series, plus Battle for Caen off Steam for under $30.00 USD . At least that's what it was the other day. I wish they had the mission generater for the earlier versions of ToW, its pretty easy to use. You can even build a new campaign with it also.

I bought Kursk when it was up for something like $5 when Caen was released, but I didn't get Caen because I think Kursk is a far more interesting setting. Might get Caen at some point, though, pretty cheap regardless.

What the game is really lacking is an operational campaign, rather than just scripted missions. Thankfully ToW3 will remedy that problem.

There has been speculation supported through various sources that Relic has re-acquired the rights to the Homeworld franchise from Vivendi. Finally, following the discovery of a document on the United States Patent and Trademark Office's electronic filing system by a fan, THQ confirmed that Relic indeed owns the trademark again, making a continuation of the series under THQ's lead possible. However, no comment on future installments was given.


Pure speculation on my part, but they seem to have wrapped things up with CoH. My guess is they are working on something new, though Homeworld 3 seems less likely than a CoH2, or more Warhammer.

What I read last night, which I can't find the article anymore, is that Relic re-acquired the rights to HW1 and Cataclysm. The article was unsure on whether or not THQ actually owned the IP though.

Bioware games are great games, but they are like watching a movie. How many times can you watch the same movie? The non sandbox, scripted story approach really kills the replayability.

Humble Merchant. Worked my way up to get Trade software Mk2 for my Mercury, and then told the ship to trade while I did other stuff. Eventually I bought the ship MK3 software allowing it to trade on its own. Went to a movie with SETA X8 on and come back to 6 mil. Shortly afterwords I buy my Nova Vanguard. (Which I just outfitted with 6 PRGs and 3 PACs.)

Well I did start as an Argon Patriot!

In X3-R I liked Split designs a lot, but I've found the durability of Argon ships in X3-TC to be pretty handy as well as the large fighter bay. ;)

Yep, it's Shawn's Cockpit mod version 1.4 combined with Combat Mod 3, and a trail mod that's compatible. I still use this one because I like the blue. A lot of the others add in red that just adds a bit too much contrast for my tastes. They also have reduced visibility for some of the bigger ships. This one seems to be a good compromise.

I think you really have to micromanage the vehicles in ToW to avoid them doing anything particularly stupid. I lost two Panthers and got another one disabled in that match because they turned their backs and climbed the hill in full view of the Soviet tanks a few hundred meters away.

I dunno, that last gun pictured could get real painful, particularly with that cocking handle coming back where your teeth are if using the sight/scope. Anyhow I thought it funny given that left handed guns are pretty damn rare, and it gets even more funny when you realize that the selector switches are all also on the wrong side too (left handed ejecting guns with ambi selector switches are even more rare).

But I've seen that lots before. A lot of modders who make these models, don't know the first thing about guns :DL

BTW, think ive figured out how i got your tigers raptor.

The left one got hit in the side or the turret, and it was also tracked, the right one got hit in its top armor I think.

The first one got penetrated through the turret and immediately tracked afterwards. The second one got tracked and then immediately penetrated through the turret. Both of these happened at the same time which is rather bad luck considering at that range you usually need at least a few shots to get the aim right.

And the Jagpanther...I'm not sure what happened to the Jagdpanther, that one had to be a lucky shot since it got penetrated through the front at the range of about a kilometer.

Didn't have all too much luck that game, also my force composition sucked, need to improve that next time.

EDIT: Not to mention spotting, need to find out how to efficiently do that since there was way too much forest on your hills and all my troops started in the open.

Its a weapon that inflicts wounders... they are wonderful wounds... kind of a hybrid of sorts. I was watching the history channel earlier they said that if Germany had finished the wounder weapon sooner, they would have very easily won the war.
