downloaded with free download manager , burn with copy to dvd , wac4.1 folder on desktop , move files to there , extract with 7-zip , load with jsgme , play game . looks good a great supermod to keep sh3 going strong, some small bugs , but still a great mod WELL DONE HanSolo78 & crew . any chance of the password for wac4.1 rc , just to have a go at it as I also downloaded it. foz out:salute::yeah::woot:

Same here. There are 3373 files reported as broken by 7-Zip.
Just a suggestion. Han, maybe you could split it with another archiver, like WinRAR? Perhaps it's more "FileFront-friendly":D.

Hi,

I´d also recommend WinRar since it is far more common than 7zip. By the way, is it alright that the three files are only about 1,2 Gigabyte? I wonder because people mentioned they are about 4 Gigabyte...

Hello Captains,

The problem IS NOT 7zip.

The problem is FileFront in conjunction with:

1. Download accelerators

2. Multiple downloads

So, for downloading from File Front, use the default button for download of your browser

AND

Download ONE BY ONE the 3 WAC 7z files. {...:yawn:...}

I was WAC tester, I know. Try again, the uploads of HanSolo are FINE.

Your files on SHMF are all up, they download and extract fine, that is 100% without any errors.
Please go ahead and make your release post in SHMF (http://www.silenthuntermods.com/forum/index.php?board=38.0) and use the link to that SHMF thread here and on your own site.

Hi,
I'm tearing out what little hair I have left . I've D/Ld three times and still have 3374 errors. I cannot find it on SHMF. Files have been D/Ld separately. Really would like to get it right as my broadband provider charges by the GB once I pass a certain level (15GBs). This Mod looks so mouthwateringly good that it is a musthave.

I cannot find it on SHMF.

That's because I prefer HanSolo78 to do the release post himself. He is after all the headman behind the mod, so he should collect the honour.:yep:
But I don't know when he gets back online to do it, so a little patience :03:

This is an erroneous file. You need to download all three new parts. Their filenames are:
WarAceCampaign_4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.001
WarAceCampaign_4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.002
WarAceCampaign_4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.003

And you have WarAceCampaign4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.001 (without the first underscore) from the old upload.

So...2-3 people would be enough!
Send me your skype name and I will send the files via skype to you so that you can host them for me at the moment please!

Yes I have seen this too while testing, but cannot remember what I did? Also I have seen that my integrated orders don't work with this release. I fixed all integrated orders, Kaleun menu >> KTB and to go to bed, maneuvering orders etc. etc.

Probably we need more time to test (this is quite a huge supermod) WAC 4.1.

The problem with pointers (when loading a saved game) look at all dials to the North ... 12 o clock is also a problem with the VIIC U-Boat. You cannot hear in the hydrophone room because the pointer is 12 o clock too and you are not able to turn the pointer.

The crew (hydrophone) cannot turn the hydrophone wheel either.

But those Subpens are awesome work:o.

Maybe DDs new open hatch has been the problem as I read that it is not compatible with WAC and has to be adopted.

Maybe DDs new open hatch has been the problem as I read that it is not compatible with WAC and has to be adopted.

As far as I understand from DD's explanation in his thread, it's very easy to adopt it. This is what he wrote in this post:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1185227&postcount=1038

I´ve used ..._menu.txt files that were provided with GWX2.1. But it´s pretty easy to add the needed lines yourself.
1856=Lock/Unlock Hatch
1857=Open/Close Hatch
1858=Free Cam (non stabilized)

I take it he only added these lines to the en/de/fr_menu.txt (files), all the other files involved could not give errors. It's the reworked cameras.dat and all the files in the Interior\NSS_Uboat7 folder.

Personally I've modded the en_menu.txt of WAC4.1, enabled DD OH V3 and will report here if anything weird occurs during gameplay.

I hope you downloaded all three files from SHMF?
The par2 files are packed in a rar file and needs to be extracted in the same folder as the 7zip files. Then you need to use quickpar. It WILL repair the files, if they are missing a little bit, but only a little bit. I only created enough par2 files to repair and recreate up to 10mb. But please try this again, before deleting the files, and then make a screencap of what you see of errors. That would be helpfull. :03:

Hello robbythesub

Look at post #604 to #608.

If not, in Windows 7, from Professional and up, you will have for free a "virtual machine" with XP/SP3 installed in your system, for every XP based program, except antivirus and others going inside the main folders of W-7.

I hope, the upgrade from Vista will be not very expensive.

It is great news that this new version runs smoother with all the new eye candy which I don´t call eyecandy but an improved realistic atmosphere
Because every new detail improves the immersion!

Things has been changed in WAC 4.1 (longer repair times) ... etc. etc.

If people want a "no fatigue mod" - especially made for WAC 4.1 - click on the link below and read about the mod.

Things has been changed in WAC 4.1 (longer repair times) ... etc. etc.

1) How can I change the repair times back to how I like it, 10 days ?

2) Also, I notice that adding sub skins is not done the same way. Just downloading and enabling with JSGME is no longer possible. You have to manually change the sub skin manually in the Dat files within the Submarine and Objects folders. Is there an easier way ?

3) This is my Bonus Question, because it has nothing to do with WAC.:O: I have a little annoying problem with TC (I think it's caused by Mav's GWX Addon Mod for the 6 dials). When I use TC, it skips a setting. Like when I'm paused at Zero, and I use my hotkey, it goes directly to 2x, then 8x, then 32x etc etc... (Manually doing it from the Console works normally, I guess I'm lazy, lol) Does anyone know how to fix this, or am I the only one ever to have this happen to them.:06:

Thanks,
Tudds

YES ! we have the winner ! WAC 4.1 is by far the BEST supermod on graphics section ! (NYGM at sensors section, imo)

these detailed subs by Tespilot are simply amazing !

Hansolo ,so far the wac 4.1 is stable and this is the best improvement of all the rest!

WAC proved that is not 'afraid' to 'add' things in game (that was the price it paid so long by 'loosing' its stability but not any more).almost every good mod ever made for sh3 is included in WAC 4.1,not to mention all the others new superb additions !!the results are on your... screens

as i said Hansolo, you couldn't find a better way to say 'goodbye' to sh3 !
(@Tuddley: i didn't said that Hansolo is retiring but you will agree with me that there would be no......wac 5 ;) )

well done sir, really ...well done !

BRAVO !

@Robbie, its going great... I took a plane back to brazil cos I met a canadian girl and we fell in love... she's coming here at october 26th so we can backpack to Antarctic together... =)

@Makman, YES! I readed the WAC 4.1 manual from cover to cover and I was really impressed. In my opinion this can turn out to be the best supermod so far. I gotta put my eyes on the sensors and the general realism of the simulation... but if its as good as the rest I saw, wordless... :o

Im just crying my eyes out cos I have vista 64 and WAC won't work on vista. Im hoping for a miracle... :damn:

That's a professional speaking. Details are great: barking dogs, train & birds whistle, moving cranes etc. As this game is very immersive by itselfd this mod is the way forward. Outstanding job Han! Of course thanks to all other contributions.

i go along with all these compliments!

:)

great work for such a small team. if one thinks about, what could have been done in the last 4 years, if there would have been ONE team, that fits all. unbelievable. maybe this point is remarkable for future SH5 modding - not 4(!) different "supermods", just one "MEGAMOD".

anyway. han...

you have really done great work so far. over the years i tried all 4 supermods (with small additional individual mods), including yours. and i must say, as good the gameplay from a lvsh is, as good the overall presentation of a gwx is, as good as wac - none of these mods ever has become. i often wished i had found more time, to take part in the modding here...and help people like you.

but my studies ended in 2005 and from 2006 on, there was a lot of real-life work to do. sad...but i remember, touching mostly all topics of the supermods as: sfx, gui, skinning, modeling, texturing, etc. maybe some remember urfischs first mod packages, with grammophone tracks, the new leitz binocs, new periscope lenses, new UZO model, new flaks, new menue- and loading-screens, new medals, new wind affected smoke and fire, etc. but there simply was no more time, to finish most of them.

since 1993 i have played and modified a lot of games. but for me, sh3 will be remembered the most and best modded game ever. with a really impressive, engaged and passioned community.

THX A LOT HAN! AND ALL OTHER SMALL AND GREAT MODDERS ROUND HERE.

@robbythesub

Yes, you still need to use the patch. SH3 engine can't use more than 2 GB of memory, but on Vista for some reason it uses more memory for WAC, ie more than 2 GB. So this patch is something like a hack that allows the game engine to use up to 3 GB on 32-bit Vista and 4 GB on 64-bit.

Worked!

Hans... great mod... really great mod. Just finished my first patrol. Got 57k before got killed... decided to fight head to head against an airplane, and in the second drop, the bastard managed to hit me right in the face. And I mean, IN THE FACE! I was looking at my crewman firing the AA gun and then I saw him dropping the bombs, I saw the bombs coming exactly mid direction, I thought about "right full rudder", but I had not even time to say "oh crap", and one of the bombs actually hitted MY FACE! :rotfl2:... I was throwed down violently to the control room (fell thru the tower stairs) and saw everything vertical for some seconds, dark too... then the image started recovering slowly... awesome!

Got really nothing to complain here, Hans, except for the sound. The vast majority of sounds is chopped off, the sounds stop abruptly. And they are also unleveled on volume. Some are very high, some I can beraly hear. The sounds itself are great, but they need some editing, badly. Its really an immersion killer to hear someone screaming and the voice gets chopped off before the end of it, and a LOT of sounds are like this. I played using very good headsets, so I could notice a lot.

The ships are a little too much out of water, bouncing up and down too much, they look light as a feather... you need heavier ships.

The destroyers stay quietly on the surface when they lose you, waiting for you to return... I never saw this before, really awesome. I could detect only one of them thru hydro, but when I got up to look, there were three... stopped dead on the water, and as soon as I torpedoes a dead ship to finish it off, they came right at me. Very very good.

The ports are incredible... really, wordless...

This was the first time I played with LRT, and I must say, I really like it... The flooding times are a little out of order (takes forever to flood) but the rest is very good. The torpedo loading times are a little weird, tho... 13 minutes to load a fish, with the maximum crew avaliable... even a torpedo officer. Dunno about historical accuracy at all, but Im used to 7-8 minutes. The deckgun has only 80 HE? I readed in books that some uboats managed to carry over 400 shells... I think the standard was around 200-250, not sure... but why only 80?

Also, whats wrong with the uboat buoyancy? Keeps sinking down very fast. I was taking care of some stuff for 5 minutes and it sinked from 13 meters to 117 and I had no flooding. Happened during all mission. IX-B.

The overall is very good, Hans! Really got me impressed!

I stand corrected. I got it to work on my Vista 64 bit system.

The problem is that my grandchildren were playing with my computer and somehow install something that had the Starforce drivers in it. Once I figured it out and removed them and cleaned my registry, reinstalled SHIIIv1.4b and then installed and reactivated WAV4.1_XP, it loaded and worked wonderfully.

WAC - Integrated Orders Fixed

Some integrated orders (via the bottom menu) cannot be done.

I have made a fix for this. Furthermore, I fixed also the letter/key "o" for observation periscope.

I was a WAC 4.1 tester and fixed several Integrated Orders. However, with the release of WAC 4.1, my fixes were not added and probably forgotten.

Information here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1387

Now you are able to use all the bottom menu commands, with your mouse.

Try and maneuver for example Stb and you will see on the big rudder dial that your orders will be done. Also your officer will inform you.

Go to the bridge, take a look on a specific angle and click on the bottom menu icon, your officer will turn your U-Boat immediately as requested.

This is of course not possible when submerged!

its the missing shadow texture. i recently managed to built an own, when i remodelled the bunkers as well. its a bit fuzzy work to make it, but the effect is very good.

its chunk 1163 "steel.tga" it has a lightmap called "LM_BNK.tga" this is the needed texture...

Yes they are icons (like Captain America's Officer Icons), but the icons would not work (the integrated orders), if people don't download my integrated orders fix for WAC 4.1. :yep:

Optional, use SeaWolf's icons and everything will work as it should be.

So I suggest, if people want to have Integrated Orders work correctly in WAC 4.1 just download it.

Rafael, do we need a combo mod for Stock Repair Times and No Fatigue mods to be compatible ? They both overwrite eachother because of the Basic.cfg.

I am also guessing with these 2 mods enabled, we do not launch WAC 4.1 via SH3 Cmdr ? I just had 16km and Stock Repair installed, and I get CDT while loading patrol.

I don't know this. My "no fatigue" file was released 30 September 2009, so I didn't knew about the "new" Stock Repair Times at HanSolo's FF page.

I first need to examine the Stock Repair Times.

While testing WAC 4.1 beta and WAC Release Candidate 1, I noticed that SH3 Commander was not compatible (CTD's). That's the reason I made the "no fatigue" add on. (I hate fatigue crew ;))

At the moment you must choose between 'no fatigue' or 'stock repair times' I suppose? :hmmm:

After having used SH3 Cmdr with this current install, do I have to completely reinstall SH3 again? Because I cannot load any patrols with any of the new addon files (No Fatigue, 16km, or Stock Repair). Just so you know, I am not loading game with SH3 Cmdr, and it doesn't matter if I use the addons one at a time or 2 at a time.

Sorry to be a pain

I don't think you need to re-install the game, uninstall SH3 Commander (look if it is pointing to SH3 with WAC.

After that, download (for free) http://www.ccleaner.com/ and clean your registry.

Use JSGME and disable all add-on mods. Start WAC sh3.exe.

I suppose this will do the job!

Sometimes the problem is that you forgot to rollback sh3 files on sh3 commander prior to enabling the new mods.

WAC 4.1 Rafael Stock Repair Times No Fatigue

If you want you can download the combo below:

Structure corrected.

If you want Stock Repair Times and crew NOT fatigued download the above modification. A readme.txt is included in the download.

Rafael, what is the Zone.cfg for ? Normally it is inside the Data folder, but you have it beside the Data folder.

When I un-packed HanSolo's WAC4.1 StockRepairTimes.rar it was exactly there ... so I didn't change any path and left everything as it is.

I don't know if Zones.cfg is a 'sort of' back-up?

Also the folders ...

> data (Zones.cfg this is the file you meant)
>> Cfg > (Basic.cfg this one has been changed by me)
>> Submarine > (with different folders i.e. NSS_Uboat2A)

... I did not change.

The structure is exactly as I downloaded it from HanSolo's FF page.

When enabled with JSGME, it put Zones.cfg in the root of SH3? Just look!

Yes I have pictures too. I am searching and searching to solve this anoying problem.

At the moment I am also looking for the VII U-Boat fault. Just start a career in 1943 Lorient, be sure you have a VII boat. I don't have this problem with a IX U-Boat.

When loading a saved (VII boat) game all pointers are to the North (12 o clock) ... I really want to fix this ... it is soooo anoying. Furthermore your (KDB/Kristalldrehbasisgerat) front deck, won't rotate anymore and you cannot listen in the hydrophone room. You cannot turn the wheel there either!

Han knows about it, I wrote it before the release.

Ok, so WAC 4.1 Rafael Stock Repair Times No Fatigue works after I unistalled Cmdr and cleaned and optimized the registry. 16km seems to be the only thing left to fix as far as the XP version is concerned.

Of course there is also the SH3 Cmdr problem, but hopefully Hans or Jaesen will be able to find a solution in the future.

Thanks Rafael- engine guages etc all at 12 o clock, but at least I am not the only one!

Hope Han or someone can sort this one out.

The other thing I noticed tonight was that if you lock up a ship moving towards you (auto targeting), the range increases instead of decreases!

You can reset it each time by unlocking and then locking again, but once locked, it keeps increasing even if the ship is still coming towards you!

For me too! Actually it wonders me that people get CTD from this mod because I never had this and never heard of this... these files only do change the atmosphere and have no relation to other files which could lead to CTD.

Nevertheless... quite weird what you experience!

This idea works as far as fixing the CTD, but it changes the tga to where it removes the colors and is now black & white. Before I resized the Nori00, the tga file was a bright blue color and white, the after it turned black & white.

Yes, after resizing to 1024, it seems to work for me too. So thanks for pointing that out Makman  Though I'm curious why this is the fix, since GWX 16km has those files as 2048x2048, running without problems on my XP.

I am more concerned about the VII U-Boat when saved a game and loading it that all pointers are pointing to 12 o clock. To the North.

This huge bug must be solved in my opinion. :yep:

For weeks I am searching and searching to find the solution to get it fixed!

See my answer: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1189302&postcount=913

Read the above and just try it (only with a VII sub!) ... or is this problem only in Windows XP?

I would like to hear other experiences ... Windows Vista users?

Rafael
10-15-09, 11:01 AM
Strange experience:

I left from St. Nazaire VIIC U-Boat in April 1942, after about 4 kilometers (a little out of port) I saved the game. Grid BF65.

I loaded the game and all pointers were correct ... even in the hydrophone room everything was OK! Still in port of St. Nazaire.

I sailed further away "Gulf/Bay of Biscay" at BF55 and again saved the game and exited to Windows.

I loaded the last save game (see above BF55) and again pointers 12 o clock to the North, hydrophone pointer to the North (unable to rotate the wheel) ... and the same problem with the KDB/Kristalldrehbasisgerat not rotating on front deck!

I am getting obsessed with this problem!!! :damn:

BTW, I used the WAC4.1 16k Atmosphere add-on, with the 2 tga (changed) files from piri_reis and had no CTD's in Windows XP.

hello Tuddley3,

if your specs are low (what are your specs?)...you may have to reduce them even more . becuase wac4.1 in ports is very 'busy' (a lot of textures ...running) you have to make some of textures ...lighter
other images that you can (...may)reduce are seafoams, foams and ....the image that the wac is using for the seafloor (haven't look at it but if it is ...1024x1024 make it....512x512 or even better.... 256x256)

Unless you have change the card It’s a Nvidia 7600GT graphics card (the 7600GS was not as good) you are pushing the envelope with 2Gb of ram this is the problem I would think.
I am running 4Gb and WAC runs ok now I pushed up the user memory settings to 3100
If your game runs but has a long Stutter/pause (More than 2secs) its maybe at this point it CTD’s then it is more ram needed :salute:

Firstly the when you say click on the navigator bottom icon and go to Reports it doent give a soud report. Says some else like resum course, or an older report or just about anything. The hotspot for the variuous items just doesnt seem to activate properly. I tried adding the fixed lower section by Raphael but that doesnt cure it.

Another one is the radioman. If I click on the radio tower I dont go to the message screen at all.

THere are several others where the lower section click ons dont seem to work properly.

Any ideas?

ANother small? question about ship damage. I nterceprted a convoy. Disabled a destroyer with a bow shot. Left it 1/2 sunk , but the guns are still blazing away and the sonar was still pinging.

Got a few other merchants in the convoy and avoided the rest of the escort. Had marked the position of the destroyer and went back 12 hours later. It was still there, 1/2 sunk bow down, front turrents mostly under water. It was still manned and active.

Backed off to about 5K yds and surface attacked with the 88 since I was out of torps. I must have hit that thing 40 times all over the pplace. THe grpahic showe it a wreck from bow to stern. It never sunk. Finally ran out of 88 ammo and attacked with the AA gun. It finally sank.

Just seems wrong somehow. Ive enountered some other merch ships that sank to the waterline and never sink. The sinking mechanics seem quite unlike GWX 3 which seem very natural and correct.

Any help on this one?

It seems that are a lor of users that are having problems with it. I didnt remember that to happen on GWX. So test it before releasing on different systems not only 3 testers you handpicked. Otherwise you work will stay like 2-3 minutes on my hdd.

No offence to your intelligence, but HanSolo78 has done this in his spare time and offers this mod free of charge to everyone, and if it does not work for you, it just doesn't give you the right to critize how he got it tested or how it's constructed.
If you don't want it because it doesn't work on your machine, well, tough luck.

Listen to SeaWolf: if it doesn't work for you, then post your pc specs and make a detailed report of what does not work for you, when and where. That's constructive critizism. What you posted, is not.

Clocky, you are wrong and you chose the wrong wording. If it does not work for you, ask for advice here and I'm sure you will receive it. People here are the helpful kind and HanSolo went to great lengths to make his mod as friendly as he could. If it does not work for you, well, that's it. For example, I never could run the previous version of WAC, but never reproached Han about it.
Just read all the posts of people who can play this mod. It's great, it works for a lot of people and it's FREE!!! It's the result of countless hours of development spent by Han and his team just to improve the original game, and nobody charged one single cent for all this effort.
So, bottom line, if you don't appreciate this mod, at least be POLITE!:nope:

My integrated orders for WAC works perfectly. I don't know WHY YOU have problems.

1) Start a new career and see that all integrated orders will work correctly. All has been tested and tested. :yep:

2) Load a previously saved game and you will see that certain things won't work anymore. Pointers are 12 o clock to the North. Compass, hydrophone room etc. etc. This I cannot help, it is something that needs to be fixed within WAC 4.1 more you can read here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1189302&postcount=913.

3) The corrected integrated orders WAC 4.1 fix can be found here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1387 read the subsim.com page before downloading it.

The main problem is loading a previously saved game. There is still no solution fix for it.

Thnaks Rafael, I had not included the integrated orders one to the list of mods I added on the WAC 4.1. Seems to work OK now. There must be some issue with my PC that theres some sort of lag in the interface. The orders are slow to engage sometimes, and if there sint a colored outline box around the item when you hover the arrow over it, it wont take. Must be me! :-(

I had asked a queastion a few days ago about sinkings ships. Does WAC 4.1 use the hit points system like in the standard game or has natural sinking been included?:hmmm: THe way the ships sink or dont sink seem very mathematical. Not complaining, just asking. I do prefer the other system as I've seen some amazing sinkings especially in bad weather with that system.:salute:

Don't forget that WAC is quite heavy. You always can try GWX 3.0 (less heavy) and use the same DSK GUI:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1380

There is also a "LOCKED" bottom menu version, made specially on request.

Hi guys!

@Carotio
Still had no time to have a look into creating the animated links in your forum...
maybe some day ;)

@Rob

What do you mean? The camera mod to move free?

@Rittmeister

WAC uses the standard ship sinking model by SH3... only small changes have been made to the armour of battleships.

iam shure there is a way to integrate it including your fix...

...i got asked for permission to integrated it into WAC4.1, but received this demand only today, as iam not checking my pm`s at UBI to often... sorry for that. :dead:

if the demand for the cam is still active, i would be glad if iam allowed to contribute it to the next version of WAC, or as an seperate addon if requested so.

Yes as stormfly and rafael say- the freecam 1.2 works fine which I think is great news and really enhances the flavour of this great mod even more.

I am going to try some new skins too later.

In my opinion, the freecam is not necessary to add it in WAC 4.1, OK ... it is nice but not very useful ... explain me why we need to add this in WAC 4.1?

Most of the time people use TC (also when submerged); and don't forget that WAC 4.1 must be fully tested * for integrating this freecam mod. :yep:

* Must be tested with several subs, ports CTD's etc. etc.

The main problem is loading a previously saved game. There is still no solution fix for it.
Hi Rafael,

This is an old issue related to the presence of AI uboats on the campaign game that are not cloned or at least not cloned well. This was one of the first bugs that the community solved since the first year of the game (2005).

IIRC, Hansolo already knows about it, probably he left behind some forgotten Ai uboat on the campaign that he not perceived. Note that this will only occur in the time that the problematic Ai uboat is used by the campaign, I mean , if it is set to appears from 1940 to 1941( for example), then the problem will only appears at this interval and so son.

Hello Rubini,

Thanks for your explanation.

Yes I knew about the cloning, Han told me (via PM) when I tested the WAC 41beta and RC1 versions.

The 'problem' (really annoying!) was also not fixed in WAC 3.0 and 3.1.

I wonder who will fix this bug?

Hansolo probably; he knows WAC files better than nobody for sure.

An easy way is to open the WAC campaign files and just delete all AI entries uboats inside(SCR file is enough probably).

Another way - and the better one - is to use AI uboats files (on submarine folder) from GWX or old ones from Harbour Traffic mod, just because I can asure you that these ones are ok. Just make sure that the names, class, etc are the same that are in the WAC original files:up:

Ok all you need to is follow steps 1 to 4 when running the mod in windows 7 64bit version but here is the killer for you.
I am running Windows 7 64bit and my stats bars are telling me I am using 41% of my ram to run SH3+Wac4.1 I have installed 8gb of ram and 3311mb of ram is used. you have said that you have only 2gb this maybe a big part of the problem. :hmmm:

Even though my posts are being ignored constantly but since I don't give up that easily , I would like to ask if anyone has probs with the IX -Boats,too? ? When I start any singlemission there is no turret at all (nothing on deck) or at least no deckgun with a IX - Boat. Tried a few other classes which were working OK though - can this be another "IX" Prob which used to be in the past as far as I remember? Also I would like to ask again about the "tiny sun" prob which is still there. Does the game run OK when playing on a 16:9 TFT?

That's generally not a problem in "modern" (32bit) operating systems.

Turns out I just had to reboot the box, and now WAC works (actually I also disabled DEP for sh3.exe so it could have been that). Now I'll have to manually get rid of this abysmal new GUI with its über-annoying miscellaneous popups. Seriously: why?

The crew voices are also very disappointing. One half of the sentence is shouting, and the other is in normal voice. Guess the watch crew is in total awe for seeing a fishing boat. Some of the voices are totally inaudible, and they are overall bad quality (Compared to vanilla and GWX). I also miss the 16km atmosphere.

These features really should be modular (JSGME).

Now that I have installed all brandnew and tested 4.1 without any other mods or file changes I still have the prob with the IX - Boats. I found that when I choose for ex. a IX - B for any singlemission it is infact some VII - Boat without a deckgun (dunno which model that is) and not a IX at all! - so something imo is wrong - but as I have found in the past I will be the only one with that issue and Han will not respond to me anyway. Besides that and the "little sun" I am delighted (if anyone should accuse me of "just complaining",which I'm not!) and with my personal mods and changes it is really cool and a nice game until "THE GAME" 2010 comes along (which it it will hopefully be,huh!?) :ping:

10-27-09, 07:45 AM
From what you are describing you are getting some sort of TypVII post-1942. The deckgun was generally removed from '43 on.

This clearly indicates that your single mission IXB call up in WAC 4.1 is being misrouted - probably due to some foul-up in your install.

The absence or incorrect installation of MultiSH3 can give rise to this sort of thing.

Do you have more than one separate install of SH3 on your system?

If so, does each one contain its own MultiSH3?

OG Hase
10-27-09, 11:56 AM
Well as I have written I had been installing ONE brandnew SH 3 ,cleaning all old files beforeand then WAC 4.1 without any changes and it didn't work either , I firstly had thought it was maybe due to my personal changes, that I then install )! It would be grand if maybe others could test this issue too (singlemission with an IX-B) , so maybe I will know more. It is all in all not very big deal but it is a bit unfortunate that the IX-B is my personal favourite boat...

Cheapskate
10-27-09, 01:44 PM
I have just started single missions with all models of the IXB from 1939 to 1945 and they all display correctly.

If you aren't getting an IXB then there must be a problem with your install.

How are you starting SH3 - from a desktop shortcut? If so please right click on shortcut icon, select properties, click on find target.

This should bring up your new WAC 4.1 directory with the SH3 exe high lighted.

If it does that OK.. go to your save file (usually in C:\Documents and Settings\User name\My Documents ) and delete it.

Restart program - a new save file will be created. Then retry your IXB single mission and see if it now works properly.

Hi guys, after some time away I decided to come back to SH3 and try WAC instead of GWX for a change. Well, since then it's been a disaster - I can't launch it without a CTD or a typical Microsoft 'serious error' message.

On a fresh install of SH3 I added the latest JSGME and copied over the folder 'WarAceCampaign 4.1_final_FULL_XP' to the MODS directory and enabled it accordingly. To ensure it worked I ran SH3 and all was fine - smooth water (nice looking by the way!), and no FPS issues - although at this point I was only in the naval academy missions to test out WAC.

However, the problems lie when I try to launch a career or a single mission. No matter what options I select; year, flotilla etc. it loads for about 10 minutes before the error message pops up and returns me to the desktop! This happens every time without fail. Rebooting, running virus scans, defrag etc. has no effect.

So, thinking it may have been a corrupt install from the files I downloaded from: http://www.silenthuntermods.com/foru...hp?topic=271.0 (http://www.silenthuntermods.com/forum/index.php?topic=271.0) I re-downloaded the entire thing again from another site, this time using:

WAC 4.1 Teil 1/3 » http://www.urech-basel.ch/wac/WarAce...FULL_XP.7z.001 (http://www.urech-basel.ch/wac/WarAceCampaign4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.001) (460'800 KB)
WAC 4.1 Teil 2/3 » http://www.urech-basel.ch/wac/WarAce...FULL_XP.7z.002 (http://www.urech-basel.ch/wac/WarAceCampaign4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.002) (460'800 KB)
WAC 4.1 Teil 3/3 » http://www.urech-basel.ch/wac/WarAce...FULL_XP.7z.003 (http://www.urech-basel.ch/wac/WarAceCampaign4.1_final_FULL_XP.7z.003) (320'504 KB)

Also removed SH3 completely - everything - and cleaned up registry. Installed to a fresh location etc. etc. (the usual) and re-installed JSGME then WAC 4.1. Once again it crashes each time it tries to launch a career or single mission. As before, every single time.

To test it I did another complete fresh install, clean up etc. and installed GWX Gold with some mods and it ran perfectly! I just don't understand why WAC will not run a career or a single mission but will play academy missions no problem.

I checked event viewer and the following errors appear each time WAC has failed. They don't appear together though, it's either one or the other.

Faulting application sh3.exe, version 1.4.0.1, faulting module kernel.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0001a323.

and:

Faulting application sh3.exe, version 1.4.0.1, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5755, fault address 0x000104fa.

So can anyone help with this - it's so frustrating! :damn::damn:

I'm running Windows XP SP3, Intel Dual-Core with 3GB memory (4 in the slots but XP only sees 3!), Nvidia GeForce 7950GTX 512MB gfx card etc. (Dell XPS laptop by the way) - and never had a problem with GWX.

Cheers all,

Px3000

I play it on a laptop too. MacBook Pro without any problems.

1. Do not use MultiSH3.
2. Do not use SH3 Commander
3. All files must be from the same server.

Extract the first 7z 'here'.

Try to download here:

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

Firstly I'm not using SH3 Commander or Multi SH3, and each time I have downloaded the files they have all come from the same server. From 7-Zip I then use the 'extract to here' option.

Secondly, the Data Execution Prevention error isn't what I see. I get the option to send an error report to Microsoft or debug it (which does nothing) when the game CTD's.

Lastly, what is the 4gb patch you refer to - that's quite big for a patch isn't it?

Glad to hear Museum loaded OK. If you are able to look through all the models of the IXB without causing a crash, then you are getting what HanSolo intended to include.

The configurations I have for the IXBs & Cs for '44/45 are:-

IXB 44

1 x 105mm Deckgun Forward of Tower.
1 x Twin 20mm AA installations in each of upper & lower Wintergarten positions

IXB 45

No deck mounted guns!
1 x Twin 20mm AA installations in each of upper & lower wintergarten positions

IXC 44

1 x 105mm deckgun forward of Tower
1 x Twin 20mm AA installations in each of upper & lower wintergarten positions

IXC 45

No deck mounted guns!
1 x Twin 20mm AA installations in each of upper & lower wintergarten positions

These are not necessarily the same as previous versions of WAC (or in any other supermod) but are correct for WAC4.1.

Edit: When using single missions it will help to reduce loading times
( from several minutes to about 20 secs ) if you install:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1082

Note: This mod has to be disabled before running any campaign mission - other wise you aren't going to see very much other than your own boat!

Certainly seems like your install is perfectly OK.
Simply dropping in files from 3.1. is a definte no-no. WAC4 wouldn't even start.

However I think SeaWolf U57 has the answer to your prayers. Click on the link underneath his sig and you will find he has released some upgunned versions of the IXB which are compatible with WAC 4.1.

Re: Flat Sun
Have got a few clues but probably not enough to solve the case to your complete satisfaction!

Firstly the missing sun-halo isn't just connected to the 16:9 resolution. I've been using a 1680 x 1050 monitor at this resolution for about two years now and the sun has always displayed correctly with the Radeon cards which I use. By all accounts Nvidia cards are less successful at rendering the halo properly.

Some mods which change the scene.dat can cause this phenomena if they are not compatible with other elements of your install. Rubini's widescreen mod can only display a sun-halo at the edge of the screen.

Don't know whether this helps much - if your problem is Nvidia related perhaps someone else can offer some advice.
