the announcement of UBI and DRM means that you definately will have to be connected to the internet at all times to play sh5 and your saved games are kept on UBI servers and not on your computer so if UBI has server problems you may lose your saved games.

nobody has talked about it but i would guess you will have limits on games saves as well since UBI is storing them and they will obviously have storage space issues that go with that.
Has this been confirmed then? If true I'm going to have to seriously think about saying goodbye to the franchise. Based on everything else I've been reading about the game so far I'm not entirely sure that is going to be too much of a problem. Online connection is one thing but keeping saves on their servers isnt going to happen with me. To be honest, the way the games industry is going anyway i think I'm going to be moving on to new hobbies soon enough anyway - So many issues and so few really good games that make it worth it.

Wow... store save games in a server ?? no way , i´m don´t buy sh anymore if this is true , let me play then to another games (sh3-4 il-2 , FS2009 ...)

clearly they want to kill Pc games , and this is the first steep, the next version could be console port or no release a pc game

what can happens wen the servers go down or the game discontinued or not soported ?

Useless...
It will just provide more fun to the crackers.

One image that comes to my mind is the opening of "2001 a space odyssey", when the monkeys learn how to use tools. It seems we still haven´t learn some tools do work, and some others do not.......

And I will gladly pay them a lot later as well.
Of course by that time the game will be in the bargin bin for 5-6 $.
You see everything works out as it should, Ubisoft takes the flak for draconian drm, some people get to rent the game at full price, the rest of us will wait down the line and pay what amounts to the price of a single Big Mac.
Its a win-win situation.

Depends on how you look at that
Spores decision to go DRM forced users away and into pirated versions

Digital rights management - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
In mid-2008, the publication of Mass Effect marked the start of a wave of titles primarily making use of SecuROM and Steam for DRM and requiring authentication via an online server. The use of DRM scheme in 2008's Spore backfired and there were considerable protest, resuming in a considerable number of users seeking a pirated version instead. This backlash against SecuROM was a significant factor in Spore becoming the most pirated game in 2008
Not argueing piracy is a problem but screwing with the ppl who do buy your software isnt the answer either
