Six children die of hypothermia amid freezing conditions in Gaza
The deaths come amid a harsh cold snap in Gaza and Israel’s blocking of shelter from entering the enclave.
Dr Saeed Salah, medical director of the Friends of the Patient Charitable Hospital in Gaza City, said on Tuesday that three NEWBORNS – aged between one and two days – died shortly after being admitted. Two more children also succumbed on Tuesday morning, with a sixth death reported in Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.
Gaza’s civil defence agency also confirmed recording the deaths of six NEWBORNS due to the severe cold wave and lack of heating over the past week. Doctors confirmed that these NEWBORN BABIES arrived to the hospital not suffering from any particular diseases.
The deaths of the children come as Israel continues to block the entry of temporary housing into Gaza, despite agreeing to allow it under the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also raised alarm over escalating attacks on healthcare facilities in the occupied West Bank.

Is Gaza ceasefire deal about to fizzle out?
The first stage of the ceasefire in Gaza, comprising hostage-prisoner exchanges between Israel and Hamas, expires on Saturday. But talks on the second phase, which were due to start earlier this month, have yet to begin. Now both sides are accusing the other of deliberately breaking the fragile truce.
On Sunday, Israel postponed the release of 620 Palestinian prisoners, due to be freed in exchange for six Israelis the day before. It blamed the indefinite delay on Hamas' hostage release ceremonies, in which armed militants paraded captives, some visibly emaciated, in front of crowds and displayed coffins of deceased Israelis under a caricature of the Israeli prime minister. This is "cynical exploitation of our hostages for propaganda purposes", Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement. Israel is ready to "resume intense fighting at any moment".
Hamas called the delay a "blatant violation", saying it would not engage in further talks until the prisoners were released. "Netanyahu is clearly sending strong messages that he is intentionally sabotaging the deal," a Hamas official told Al Jazeera. He is "preparing the atmosphere for returning back to the war".
This is "the latest big bump in the road", said the BBC. It comes after Hamas handed over deceased Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas on Thursday – but the body turned out to be someone else's. That sparked widespread "anger and shock in Israel"; Netanyahu denounced what he called the "cruel and malicious violation" of the agreement. Her body was returned on Friday, but the past few days show "how fragile the ceasefire process remains".
The prisoner-hostage exchanges "suited both Israel and Hamas", said The New York Times. Every hostage "brought relief" to Israel, while Hamas' "prestige was bolstered among Palestinians" with every released prisoner. These swaps are set to end on Thursday, with the release of four more Israelis (most likely deceased) for several hundred Palestinians. "Unless new exchanges are arranged, both Hamas and Israel will have fewer reasons to keep the truce going."

Pieces of dog dirt they are. Strangling babies? Only illustrates their total lack of inhibition and barbaric primitiveness. But we do know that on the day the horror began, they gang-raped women, at the same time cutting off their breasts and limbs - while they were being raped and still alive.
Normally I distinguish between determination and sadism, but with the Hamas scum I have certainly begun to think in sadistic terms.
I do not feel the slightest bit of compassion for them, nor for anyone who supports this kind of horror and excuses it, relativises it, defends it. Not the slightest bit. I once personally dealt with torture victims from the Balkan wars, and that already was bad. Nothing worse there is than to look into a pair of eyes - may it be human or animal -, and seeing nothing in there, just a black empty abyss and no ground at the bottom. That does something with you, and its nothing good. Sucks up your trust in life and that there is a sense in existence that we just do not know. But yes, it makes you stronger in a way, more determined, harder. At the cost of becoming more bitter. Or you sooner or later lose yourself, if you stay too long, some helping people have this happening to them, too, they get buried under their experiences and empathy. All in all the loss is higher than the gain. Thats why most helpers dont do this sort of work for too long, I guess. For me, it were just weeks. That was enough.
Empathy is good, but you should always keep it limited and under tight control. Reason is needed, too. And sometimes its more important than just empathy.

MISINFORMATION IN THE GAZA WAR !
------------------------------------
During the conflict, the Israeli government and Israeli cyber companies have deployed artificial intelligence (AI) tools and bot farms to spread disinformation and graphic, emotionally charged and false propaganda to dehumanize Palestinians, sow division among supporters of Palestine, and exert pressure on politicians to support Israel's actions.
Allegations of beheading
During US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Israel, he said he was shown photos of the massacre by Hamas of Israeli civilians and soldiers, and specifically that he saw beheaded IDF soldiers. U.S. President Joe Biden separately said that he had seen photographic evidence of terrorists beheading children, but the White House later clarified that Biden was alluding to news reports of beheadings, which have not contained or referred to photographic evidence. CNN had extensively reviewed online media content to verify Hamas-related atrocities but found no evidence to support claims of decapitated children.
Allegations of sexual violence
he AP reported that two ZAKA volunteers made false statements about sexual violence and rape on October 7, Chaim Otmazgin, a ZAKA commander, claimed he found a raped woman due to her pants having been pulled down below her waist. He showed photos to the AP as part of his testimony. However, it was found out later that the body was laying as it was due to being dragged around by Israeli soldiers to check if it was booby-trapped. Otmazgin said he publicly corrected himself after learning what had happened. A UN report on these allegations has stated that Israeli authorities have been unable to produce the evidence politicians said existed.
Pregnant woman with her foetus claim
Yossi Landau, another ZAKA volunteer, claimed he found a pregnant woman killed with a fetus removed from her womb. This was also proven to be false. When challenged, Landau offered to show Al Jazeera a photo on his phone of the stabbed foetus, but is filmed admitting he is unable to do so.
Dead baby in oven claim
In a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition on 28 October, Eli Beer, founder of Israeli volunteer-based emergency medical services group United Hatzalah, claimed that Hamas had burned a baby alive in an oven. He attributed the claim to a United Hatzalah volunteer; one of them, Asher Moskowitz, also publicly made the claim. It was repeated by journalist Dovid Efune, commentator John Podhoretz and others, in tweets seen over 10 million times. Israeli journalists and police found no evidence for the claim, and a representative of ZAKA, a first responder organization, said the claim was "false".
False nurse
In November 2023, a video appearing to show a nurse at the Al Shifa hospital went viral. She claimed that she was unable to treat patients because Hamas had taken over the entire hospital and were stealing fuel and medicine, with the video ending with her pleading for all Palestinians to leave Al Shifa. Many were quick to point out the falsehood in the video, as none of the documented doctors and nurses at the hospital recognize the womandepicted, and a reported Israeli accent and inability to speak clear Arabic. Additionally, according to Esther Chan from RMIT FactLab's CrossCheck, an analysis by open-source investigators had determined that the video was likely doctored to artificially include fake sounds of explosions.
Misinformation and disinformation
After reports spread that a mother and daughter were killed by Israeli snipers in December 2023 in a church where a number of Palestinian Christians sheltered, the Israeli army denied targerting the compound. They claimed instead there was Hamas activity in its vicinity and Israeli soldiers shot back. Catholic officials and Member of British Parliament Layla Moran, who maintained contact with refugees in the church, stated, on the contrary, that no Palestinian belligerents were in the area and that the two women had been killed by the Israeli army, who were the ones preventing the refugees from leaving.
In November 2023, a video posted by the IDF showed Daniel Hagari, inside the Al-Rantisi Children's Hospital, where he claimed that the IDF had found Hamas weapons and technology, as well as a "list of terrorist names" in Arabic with the title "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood", showing each agents' rota guarding the hostages. However, a translation of the document showed that it contained no names but instead a calendar of the days of the week.
The Israeli army also denied responsibility for the killing of 5-year-old Hind Rajab, her family and the Palestine Red Crescent Society paramedics sent to rescue her, saying that their forces were not in firing range on the day of the girl's death. However, both Al Jazeera and The Washington Post concluded, based on investigation of satellite imagery, that Israeli armored vehicles were indeed in the area at the time.
Unverified information
In other instances, Israeli forces' claims have been questioned based on an apparent lack of evidence. In December 2023, Israel stated there was a Hamas tunnel network connected to the Al-Shifa Hospital; however, a report by The Washington Post found "There is no evidence that the tunnels could be accessed from inside hospital wards". Over the course of the war, repeated Israeli attacks on hospitals were justified by the Israeli military's claims that the hospitals were used by militants. The Associated Press, however, stated that after months of investigations, it found that Israel had provided "little or even no evidence" of a significant militant presence near the al-Awda, Indonesian, or Kamal Adwan hospitals prior to their raids.
In January 2024, Israel claimed that 12 UNRWA staff members had participated in the October 7 attack on Israel;however, the Financial Times, Sky News, Channel 4, and other news outlets all stated that Israel's claims were not proven by the intelligence documents they reviewed.
In December 2024, the New York Times reported that at least 24 UNRWA employees were members of Hamas or
Palestinian Islamic Jihad, with most allegedly part of Hamas’s armed wing. The report was based on “secret Hamas military plans” that purportedly identified schools as strategic sites. The Times did not mention that prior allegations had been disproven, but acknowledged it could not verify the records, which were provided by the Israeli military, noting they resembled previous Hamas documents. When Drop Site News asked which documents the Times was referring to, they did not respond.
On the United Nations
In February 2024, Volker Turk, the UN human rights chief, stated that theUnited Nations had been the subject of disinformation attacks, saying, "The UN has become a lightning rod for manipulative propaganda and a scapegoat for policy failures."
United Nations (UN) Director-General Antonio Guterres has accused Israel of spreading misinformation about the war in Gaza in an attempt to lower the credibility of the UN.
"I've heard the same source many times saying that I never attacked Hamas, that I never condemned Hamas, that I am a supporter of Hamas. I asked for a statistic to be made by our colleagues. I have condemned Hamas 102 times, 51 of them in formal speeches. The others in different social platforms. So, I mean, the truth in the end always wins.

Palestinian prisoner recalls ‘torture’ of leg amputation in Israeli jail
In the last prisoner swap of phase one of the Gaza ceasefire, Israel released hundreds of Palestinians, several with missing limbs. A 21-year-old, previously released detainee recalls having his leg forcibly amputated and enduring ‘torture, MEDICAL TESTING:D, and mistreatment’ in Israeli prison.

Palestinians released by Israel show signs of torture, starvation
Hundreds of Palestinians released by Israeli show signs of emaciation and abuse suffered while in detention.
Alaa al-Bayari, a Palestinian released to Gaza City, told Al Jazeera that he witnessed “torture, beating, humiliation and everything you can imagine” while in Israeli prison.
“We were kept naked, water was thrown on us and then they used electricity” to torture, he said.
The group also called on other countries to “stop their double standards” in their discourse regarding Israeli captives while not mentioning the abuse that Palestinian prisoners are subjected to.

What we know about the hostages still in Gaza
More than 16 months after they were seized by militants during Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, uncertainty hangs over the fate of 24 people held in Gaza and presumed to be alive.
Negotiations for a potential second phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal could secure their release as well as a permanent end to the war.
The first phase of the truce, which came into effect on January 19 and is due to expire on Saturday, saw 25 Israelis and dual nationals freed alive and eight bodies repatriated in return for hundreds of Palestinians in Israeli custody.
Five Thai nationals were also released from Gaza outside the scope of the ceasefire agreement.
Here is what we know about the hostages still held in Gaza:
Little proof of life
Israeli authorities believe that 24 out of 58 hostages held in the Gaza Strip are alive, but for most of them, there has been little proof of life.
Three of the four hostages whose bodies were repatriated this week had been presumed alive prior to the handover of their remains.
In a recent proof of life, a video released by Hamas on Saturday showed two hostages, Evyatar David, 24, and Guy Gilboa-Dalal, 23, watching the handover in Gaza of other captives set for release.
Edan Alexander, 21, and Matan Zangauker, 25, were seen in videos released between late November and early December.
Some hostages freed during the truce have shared with Israeli authorities information on more than a dozen captives they had seen alive.
All men
All remaining hostages presumed alive are men, and most of them are younger than 30.
Twenty-two are Israeli, of whom 10 have dual nationality. There are also two foreigners, Nepali student Bipin Joshi, 24, and Thai farm worker Natthapong Pinta, who was 35 at the time of his abduction.
Five of the Israelis are soldiers, including Tamir Nimrodi and Nimrod Cohen, who are both 20, making them the youngest hostages still in Gaza.
Israeli-Hungarian hostage Omri Miran, 47, is the oldest one.
Out of the 24 hostages believed to be alive, 11 were seized from the site of a music festival that came under attack on October 7.
34 bodies
Out of the 251 hostages captured during the Hamas attack that triggered the war, at least 41 were dead when they were taken to Gaza, including 11 of the 25 soldiers taken hostage.
Hamas and its ally Islamic Jihad still hold the bodies of 34 hostages, according to Israeli authorities.
At least 25 of them were killed during the 2023 attack and their bodies taken by militants.
Others have died in captivity. Sahar Baruch, 25, was killed in late 2023 during a failed rescue operation by the Israeli military, and his body remains in Gaza.
Nearly 150 freed alive
Out of the 251 hostages taken during the Hamas attack that triggered the Gaza war, 145 have been freed alive. Forty-eight bodies have also been repatriated.
Most of the releases took place during the war's two ceasefires.
In November 2023, mostly women, children and foreigners were released. The current truce saw the remaining women freed as well as elderly people, hostages in poor health and others.
Eight hostages were freed by Israeli forces.

Israel threatens a second Nakba, yet denies the first ever happened
Israel denies carrying out the 1948 Nakba of Palestinians, even as it calls for carrying out a second Nakba today.
The Nakba is the ethnic cleansing of at least 750,000 Palestinians from their homes and villages by Zionist militias to make way for the creation of Israel in 1948.
Seventy-seven years after the Nakba, which Israel has never recognised, the country is again threatening to expel millions of Palestinians from what’s left of their homeland.
Most of the people in Gaza – 70 percent of about 2.3 million – are descendants of those forced to flee militia violence during the first Nakba, their villages and towns subsumed by Israel today.
Despite not publicly recognising the Nakba, many Israelis are now calling for a “second one” by supporting Trump’s Gaza plan. Trump’s “plan” would amount to ethnic cleansing and likely force Israel to commit many crimes under international law, legal experts previously told Al Jazeera.
Palestinians in Gaza told Al Jazeera they are neither frightened nor intimidated by Israel’s threats. Many believe they’ve already survived the worst of Israel’s violence.

What Oscar-winning No Other Land is about and where you can watch it
Director Basel Adra calls on the world to ‘stop the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people’ in his acceptance speech.
No Other Land, which chronicles settler violence and the Israeli demolitions of Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, won the Oscar for best documentary on Sunday night. The film has won dozens of prizes since its release last year, including at the Berlin Film Festival and the New York Film Critics Circle Awards.
During his Oscar acceptance speech on Sunday night in Los Angeles, Adra said his film “reflects the harsh reality we have been enduring for decades and still resist as we call on the world to take serious actions to stop the injustice and to stop the ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people”.
Studios and distributors in the United States have refused to pick up the film. Even online streaming platforms in the US have not shown interest despite No Other Land being the highest grossing Oscar-nominated documentary.

Arab nations, rights groups condemn Israel’s decision to block Gaza aid
Several countries say Israeli action violates ceasefire deal as well as international law by using starvation as a weapon.
Egypt and Qatar, which mediated the talks between Hamas and Israel, as well as Saudi Arabia and Jordan, released statements criticising the Israeli move to block food, medicine and fuel into the Strip. The ministry said the actions violate the Fourth Geneva Convention, and “all religious principles”. The Fourth Geneva Convention, adopted in 1949, provides humanitarian protections for civilians in war zones.

Israel blocks entry of all humanitarian aid into Gaza
Israel has blocked the entry of all humanitarian aid into Gaza as it demands Hamas agree to a US plan for a ceasefire extension.
The first phase of a truce deal mediated by Egypt, Qatar and the US expired on Saturday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said Hamas was refusing to accept a temporary extension proposed by Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff.
A Hamas spokesman said blocking supplies to Gaza was "cheap blackmail" and a "coup" on the ceasefire agreement and urged mediators to intervene.
The ceasefire deal halted 15 months of fighting between Hamas and the Israeli military, allowing the release of 33 Israeli hostages for about 1,900 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
The internationally-mediated ceasefire plan - originally proposed by Joe Biden - envisages three stages.
The first phase came into force on 19 January and expired on Saturday.
Negotiations on phase two, meant to lead to a permanent ceasefire, the release of all remaining living hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, were due to have started weeks ago, but have barely begun.
Phase three is meant to result in the return of all remaining bodies of dead hostages and the reconstruction of Gaza, which is expected to take years.
Hamas has previously said it will not agree to any extension of phase one without guarantees from the mediators that phase two would eventually take place.
As the first phase of the deal expired on Saturday, Netanyahu's office said Israel had agreed to Witkoff's proposal for the ceasefire to continue for about six weeks during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and Jewish Passover periods.
If, at the end of this period, negotiations reached a dead end, Israel would reserve the right to go back to war.
Witkoff has not made his proposal public. According to Israel, it would begin with the release of half of all the remaining living and dead hostages.
Witkoff is said by Israel to have proposed the temporary extension after becoming convinced that more time was needed to try to bridge the differences between Israel and Hamas on conditions for ending the war.
A statement from Netanyahu's office said: "With the end of Phase 1 of the hostage deal, and in light of Hamas's refusal to accept the Witkoff outline for continuing talks - to which Israel agreed - Prime Minister Netanyahu has decided that, as of this morning, all entry of goods and supplies into the Gaza Strip will cease.
"Israel will not allow a ceasefire without the release of our hostages. If Hamas continues its refusal, there will be further consequences."
The Hamas spokesman said: "Netanyahu's decision to stop aid going into Gaza once again shows the ugly face of the Israeli occupation... The international community must apply pressure on the Israeli government to stop starving our people."
Aid agencies confirmed that no aid trucks had been allowed into Gaza on Sunday morning.
"Humanitarian assistance has to continue to flow into Gaza. It's very essential. And we are calling all parties to make sure that they reach a solution," Antoine Renard from the World Food Programme (WFP) told the BBC.
Thousands of trucks entered the Gaza Strip each week since the ceasefire was agreed in mid-January.
Aid agencies have managed to store supplies, which means there is no immediate danger to the civilian population from this morning's Israeli decision.
Egypt has called for the previously agreed upon ceasefire deal to be implemented in full.
The Egyptian foreign minister said his country would present a plan to rebuild Gaza without displacing its people at an emergency Arab summit on Tuesday.
Also on Sunday, medics said four people had been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza. The Israeli military said it had attacked people who were planting an explosive device in the north of the territory.
There are believed to be 24 hostages alive, with another 35 presumed to be dead.
Hamas carried out an unprecedented attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, killing about 1,200 people and taking another 251 hostage.
Israel responded with an air and ground campaign in the Gaza Strip, during which at least 48,365 people have been killed, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

Gazans face tough choices as their future is debated on the global stage
The level of destruction in Jabalia when viewed from the air is truly astonishing.
A Hiroshima-like wasteland stretches as far as the eye can see. The mangled carcasses of buildings dot the churned-up landscape, some leaning at crazy angles.
Great undulating waves of rubble make it all but impossible to make out the geography of this once bustling, tightly packed refugee camp.
And yet, as a drone camera flies over the wreckage, it picks out splashes of blue and white where small tent camps have been set up in patches of open ground.
And figures, clambering over broken buildings, moving along streets of dirt, where food markets are springing up under tin roofs and canvas awnings. Children using a collapsed roof as a slide.
After more than six weeks of Gaza's fragile ceasefire, Jabalia is slowly coming back to life.

Israel's new army chief says mission against Hamas 'not accomplished'
Israel's newly appointed military chief Eyal Zamir said Wednesday that his country's mission to defeat Hamas was not yet accomplished, with his inauguration coming at a precarious moment for the fragile truce in Gaza.
Speaking before Zamir at a ceremony at military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was "determined" to achieve victory in the multi-front war that began with Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack.
The remarks come after Arab leaders endorsed on Tuesday a plan to rebuild the Gaza Strip under the future administration of the Palestinian Authority, presenting an alternative to US President Donald Trump's widely condemned proposal to take over the territory and displace its people.
But the prospect of the PA governing Gaza remains far from certain, with Israel having ruled out any future role for the body in the territory ruled by Hamas since 2007.
"Hamas has indeed suffered a severe blow, but it has not yet been defeated. The mission is not yet accomplished," Zamir said, amid a deadlock in negotiations on next steps in the ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza.
Zamir is replacing Herzi Halevi, who announced his resignation as armed forces chief in January over the military's shortcomings on October 7.
The military has since released the findings of an internal investigation that acknowledged its "complete failure" to prevent the deadliest attack on Israel since its creation.

So again "the lives of the hostages are in danger when anyone attacks the Hamas terrorists". Nice 180 degrees turn from reality.
It is quite easy, the people in Gaza have to get rid of the Hamas themselves or this will go on forever.
No elections have taken place in Gaza since 2006. Gaza does not have a parliament either. So how should they expel Hamas okay, there is enough rubble to throw at Hamas, but Hamas has the monopoly on violence so... they are Fked.

Organise an election in those circumstances now would be.. difficult, or better impossible. But Hamas did not appear out of nowhere, Israel has bombed palestinian settlements since the 1960ies, mostly civilians, with the official israelian reason being that terrorists were hidden by them.
Yes it is complicated, since this Balfour declaration the creators of this mess pulled back and watched.
Organize! They need to protest against Hamas for the simple things "food" make unequivocal demands that, if met, would mean the obliteration of the current power structure. And the Palestine people must never compromise on these demands. And... And no violence, send the women and kids to the streets to make those demands.

Israel says its forces did not set ablaze a mosque in Nablus
Israel on Friday said its forces did not set ablaze a mosque in Nablus in the West Bank.
The military does not know the cause of the fire in the al-Nasr mosque, the Israeli army said in response to an enquiry.
At the same time, it said it was checking reports that Israeli soldiers had destroyed parts of other mosques in the city in the north of the West Bank.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Ramallah had earlier strongly criticized the alleged invasion of eight mosques in Nablus by Israeli troops.
According to the allegations, the Israeli forces destroyed parts of the places of worship and burned down large parts of the al-Nasr mosque.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA also reported that Israeli troops had detained three Palestinians in several neighbourhoods of the city of Nablus during the operation.

Israel says it is cutting off its electricity supply to Gaza
Israel says it is cutting off its electricity supply to Gaza. The full effects of that are not immediately clear, but the territory's desalination plants receive power for producing drinking water.
Sunday’s announcement comes a week after Israel cut off all supplies of goods to the territory to over 2 million people. It has sought to press Hamas to accept an extension of the first phase of their ceasefire. That phase ended last weekend.
Hamas has pressed to start negotiations on the ceasefire’s more difficult second phase instead.
Gaza has been largely devastated by the war, and generators and solar panels are used for some of the power supply.

Israel says it has cut off electricity to Gaza in what seems like another attempt to force Hamas to accept changes it wants to impose upon the ceasefire terms agreed in January.
How has Hamas responded?
We strongly condemn the occupation’s decision to cut off electricity to Gaza, after depriving it of food, medicine, and water, Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, wrote, characterising the move as a desperate attempt to pressure our people and their resistance.
Who doesn’t support Israel in these blockades?
Both Egypt and Qatar, who have mediated the ceasefire talks, as well as Saudi Arabia and Jordan released statements this month criticising the Israeli move to block food, medicine and fuel into the Strip.
Humanitarian aid should never be contingent on a ceasefire or used as a political tool, France, Germany and the United Kingdom said in a joint statement on Wednesday. Precisely :yep:
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the International Criminal Court, which issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant last year, condemned the block on aid.

Houthis vow to resume attacks on Israeli ships over Gaza aid
GAZA CITY:The Houthi militant group in Yemen said it would resume attacks on Israeli ships for the first time in about two months after demanding the country ended a ban on aid entering Gaza.
The decision, which the Houthis said would take effect immediately, will likely further deter container ships and tankers — including non-Israeli ones — from sailing through the Suez Canal and southern Red Sea.
The militants began maritime attacks in late 2023, ostensibly in solidarity with Hamas following the outbreak of its war with Israel in Gaza. The assaults led to most Western shippers avoiding the area and going around southern Africa instead — a much longer route for vessels traveling between Asia and Europe. Global freight rates rose.
“Any Israeli ship that tries to defy the ban in the announced operation areas will be targeted,” Yahya Saree, a Houthi spokesman said late on Tuesday. Israeli vessels will be targets until aid, including food and medicine, is allowed into the Palestinian territory, he added.
The Houthis are, like Hamas, backed by Iran and designated as terrorists by the US.
“The Houthi threat to resume attacks on Israel is credible,” said Jack Kennedy, an analyst at S&P Global Market Intelligence. “A resumption of Houthi maritime attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden would represent a severe risk to all vessels in transit, regardless of affiliation with Israel, due to uncertainties around targeting selection.”
Late last week, the group gave a four-day ultimatum to Israel to allow aid into Gaza. That announcement led to a rise in the shares of shippers such as A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S and Hapag-Lloyd on Monday, with traders anticipating an increase in freight rates. The stocks pared most of their gains on Tuesday.
After a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict started in January, the Houthis suggested they would pause attacks on Israeli as well as US- and UK-linked vessels. All three countries have carried out airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen since early 2024 in an effort to stop their assaults on ships and on Israel. Those strikes have been halted since the truce in Gaza began.
Despite the pause in maritime attacks, most major Western shipping companies said they would need more reassurance before sailing through the region again. Traffic through the Suez Canal has changed little since January, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
The latest Houthi announcement will also be a setback for Egypt. Revenue collected from traffic through the Suez Canal is a key source of hard currency for the government. The waterway’s receipts have dropped by about 60% as a result of the assaults. Egypt says losses will be around $7 billion for the current financial year ending in June.
Israel said its stopped aid and power supplies to Gaza to put pressure on Hamas to disarm and release the roughly 65 Israeli hostages it’s still holding. The war was triggered by Hamas’s attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, which killed 1,200 people. Israel’s air and ground assault on Gaza has killed more than 48,000 people, according to the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry.
If the Houthis do attack Israeli or other ships again, that’s likely to lead to a resumption of US-lead strikes on the group in Yemen, according to Kennedy of S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Hamas praised Houthis after they announced they would resume attacks on Israeli-linked shipping, calling it a demonstration of “true commitment” to the Palestinian cause.
“It is a true commitment of support for our Palestinian people and their resistance, and it exerts real pressure to break the unjust siege on Gaza,” Hamas said in a statement.
Hamas welcomed the statement, saying it “reflects the genuine stance of the Yemeni people”.
“We call on the nations of the Arab and Muslim world, as well as all free people around the globe, to intensify their effective actions to pressure the Zionist occupation and its supporters until the aggression ends, the siege on Gaza is lifted and humanitarian aid reaches our besieged people,” Hamas said.

Hamas welcomes Trump’s pullback from Gaza mass displacement plan !
quack quack... says ‘nobody is expelling Palestinians from Gaza’, reversing earlier comments on emptying the war-torn territory of its population.
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem has welcomed United States President Donald Trump’s apparent RETREAT from his proposed permanent displacement of more than two million Palestinians from Gaza.
“If US President Trump’s statements represent a retreat from any idea of displacing the people of the Gaza Strip, they are welcomed,” Qassem said in the statement.
“We call for this position to be reinforced by obligating the Israeli occupation to implement all the terms of the ceasefire agreements,” he added.
The 42-day first phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal expired earlier this month without agreement from Israel on subsequent stages meant to secure a lasting end to its war on Gaza.
Israel has since imposed a complete blockade on Gaza, which has entered a 12th day and includes preventing the entry of food, fuel and medicines to the territory in what has been described as an act of collective punishment and Israel’s “weaponisation of humanitarian aid” to pressure Hamas.

Israel’s attacks on reproductive healthcare in Gaza ‘genocidal’: UN probe
UN experts say Israel ‘intentionally attacked and destroyed’ the Palestinian territory’s main fertility centre.
Israel has carried out “genocidal acts” against Palestinians by systematically destroying women’s healthcare facilities during its war on Gaza and using sexual violence as a war strategy, United Nations experts have said.
On Thursday, the Geneva-based Independent International Commission of Inquiry said in a new report that Israel “intentionally attacked and destroyed” Gaza’s main fertility centre while simultaneously blocking medicine for pregnancies, deliveries and neonatal care from entering the enclave.
For its part, “Israel categorically rejects the unfounded allegations”, its mission in Geneva said in a statement.
Israel had targeted civilian women and girls directly, “acts that constitute the crime against humanity of murder and the war crime of wilful killing”.

UN experts accuse Israel of sexual violence and 'genocidal acts' in Gaza
UN experts have accused Israel of increasingly using sexual and gender-based violence against Palestinians and carrying out "genocidal acts" through the systematic destruction of maternal and reproductive healthcare facilities.
A report commissioned by the UN Human Rights Council documents alleged violations, including rape, in Gaza and the occupied West Bank since Hamas's 7 October 2023 attack on Israel triggered the Gaza war.
It also says the destruction of maternity wards in Gaza and embryos at a fertility clinic could indicate a strategy to prevent births among a particular group - one of the legal definitions of genocide.
Israel said it "categorically rejects the unfounded allegations".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded angrily, calling the Human Rights Council "an antisemitic, rotten, terrorist-supporting and irrelevant body".
Instead of focusing on war crimes committed by Hamas, he said, it was attacking Israel with "false accusations".

Acute child malnutrition in northern Gaza doubles in one month, UNICEF says
The UN agency warns malnutrition crisis worsens across Gaza, with dramatic rises in affected children under two and under five.
One in three children under the age of two in the northern Gaza Strip suffers from acute malnutrition, the United Nations’ children agency has warned, as Israel’s total blockade of aid enters its third week.

Hamas says American-Israeli hostage will only be freed if ceasefire is implemented
The Hamas terrorist group said Saturday that it will only release Israeli-American hostage Edan Alexander if Israel implements the existing ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Alexander, 21, is the last living American hostage in captivity in the Gaza Strip.
A senior Hamas official told the Associated Press that long-delayed talks over the ceasefire’s second phase would need to begin the day of the release and last no longer than 50 days. Israel would also need to stop barring the entry of humanitarian aid and withdraw from a strategic corridor along Gaza’s border with Egypt.
Hamas called it an "exceptional deal" aimed at getting the truce back on track, per the official, who spoke to The AP on condition of anonymity.
Hamas is also demanding the release of more Palestinian prisoners in exchange for hostages, the official said.
Hamas on Friday agreed to release Alexander along with the bodies of four other hostages following a deal offered by mediators. He has now been held captive for 526 days as of Saturday, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum said.
It comes as talks are ongoing in Qatar to establish the next phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, the first phase of which ended on March 1.
The office of Steve Witkoff, special envoy to the Middle East, and the National Security Council said in a joint statement that "President Trump has made it clear that Hamas will either release hostages immediately, or pay a severe price."
Witkoff and Eric Trager, National Security Council senior director for the Middle East and North Africa, presented a ‘bridge’ proposal to extend the ceasefire beyond Ramadan and Passover and allow time to negotiate a framework for a permanent ceasefire.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to convene his ministerial team on Saturday to receive a detailed report from negotiators and decide on the next steps for the release of the hostages.

US launches wave of air strikes on Yemen's Houthis
The US has launched a "decisive and powerful" wave of air strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen, President Donald Trump has said, citing the armed group's attacks on shipping in the Red Sea as the reason.
"Funded by Iran, the Houthi thugs have fired missiles at US aircraft, and targeted our Troops and Allies," Trump wrote on his Truth social platform, adding that their "piracy, violence, and terrorism" had cost "billions of dollars" and put lives at risk.
The Houthi-run health ministry said at least 31 people were killed and 101 others were injured in the strikes.
The group - which began targeting shipping in response to the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza - said its forces would respond to US strikes.
The Houthis reported a series of explosions on Saturday evening in Sanaa and in the northern province of Saada - the rebels' stronghold on the border with Saudi Arabia.
The Iranian-backed rebel group, which considers Israel its enemy, controls Sanaa and the north-west of Yemen, but it is not the country's internationally-recognised government.
Unverified images show plumes of black smoke over the area of Sanaa's airport - which includes a military facility.
In a statement, the Houthis blamed the US and the UK for "wicked" aggression targeting residential areas in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
The UK did not participate in Saturday's US strikes against the Houthi targets but it did provide routine refuelling support for the US.
These attacks, Trump said, "will not be tolerated".
He added: "We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective."
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the US government had "no authority, or business, dictating Iranian foreign policy".
"End support for Israeli genocide and terrorism," he posted on X on Sunday. "Stop killing of Yemeni people."
The Houthis have said they are acting in support of the Palestinians in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, and have claimed - often falsely - that they are targeting ships only linked to Israel, the US or the UK.

British daughter of Gaza hostage says burying father 'incredibly meaningful'
A British-Israeli woman whose father died in captivity after being taken hostage by Palestinian gunmen on 7 October has said the return of his body last month has been "incredibly meaningful".
"Bringing back my dad and being able to bury him was one of the most profound things," Sharone Lifschitz said, after the family were finally able to hold a funeral for 83-year-old Oded Li********z.
Both her father and her mother were taken hostage from their home by Palestinian gunmen, but while her 85-year-old mother, Yocheved, was released in late October 2023, Oded was held for 503 days.
When his body was returned in February the Israeli government said he had been murdered in captivity over a year earlier.
The Israeli Prime Minister's Office said Oded "was murdered in captivity by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization."
"It's not the outcome we were hoping for," Sharone told the BBC on Sunday.
"But it's a relief to know that he is not suffering. We were so worried about his well being and his suffering, and he suffered before he died, and he died in the most horrific circumstances possible."
Sharone spoke to BBC News at a memorial event at the JW3 Community Centre in London.
Hundreds of people came to pay their respects, including MPs, Foreign Office minister Hamish Falconer, the Chief Rabbi and other British-Israeli families whose relatives were murdered on 7 October or taken hostage.
Sharone said that "being able to say goodbye" showed how important it was that all families were reunited with their relatives, both those still alive and the bodies Hamas is still holding.
The first phase of a temporary truce between Israel and Hamas ended on 1 March and saw Hamas release 25 living Israeli hostages and eight dead hostages that it had captured during its attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023.
In return, Israel released about 1,900 prisoners and detainees from Gaza.
Talks to extend the ceasefire and release more hostages have so far failed to reach an agreement.
"Receiving my father's remains back, and being able to say goodbye to him has really has been incredibly meaningful to me, more than I could ever imagine, to bring him back to us, away from such horrific events that he was part of in his last days," Sharone said.
"It's very hard to reconcile the fact we weren't there for him. But at least we know now that he is back with us. I hope he knows how much we love him.
"Experiencing what it is to close it, to know that my father is dead and buried, really brings to the fore how important it is to return everybody, the living and the dead hostages, so that all the families can bury their loved ones."
She said he had been held alive and injured in Gaza for a few weeks after he was captured but that "he didn't give up on his humanity."

Genocide is Growing...........!
Israel strikes Gaza, breaking ceasefire: Israeli warplanes launched a massive assault across the Gaza Strip early on Tuesday morning, killing at least 404 people, including many children, and injuring numerous others.
Israeli attacks targeted various areas across the Gaza Strip, from north to south, including Jabalia, Beit Hanoon, Gaza City, Nuseirat, Deir el-Balah, Khan Younis and Rafah. Areas that had been designated as safe humanitarian zones, including the al-Mawasi zones, were also attacked.
Israel violated the ceasefire numerous times from January 19 to March 17, killing at least 170 people in Gaza, averaging nearly three deaths a day. Gaza authorities have documented more than 350 violations by Israel, including military incursions, gunfire, air raids, intensified surveillance and the obstruction of aid. The latest attacks come during the second half of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
More than 60,000 killed, 112,000 wounded, On February 3, the Government Media Office updated the death toll to more than 61,700, noting that thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble were presumed dead.

Israel launches waves of strikes on Gaza with more than 400 reportedly killed
The Israeli military says it is carrying out "extensive strikes" in the Gaza Strip, with the Hamas-run health ministry reporting more than 400 Palestinians have been killed.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was attacking what it called "terror targets" belonging to Hamas. The strikes are continuing and the IDF has issued fresh evacuation orders for many areas.
Mahmoud Abu Wafah, deputy interior minister in Gaza and the territory's highest-ranking Hamas security official, is among the dead. Three other senior officials were later reported killed.
This is the largest wave of air strikes in Gaza since the ceasefire began on 19 January. Talks to extend it have failed to reach an agreement.
Many people were having their pre-dawn meal, part of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, when explosions started in Gaza, witnesses say.
They described a nightmarish situation, with fires and bodies everywhere, and wounded people desperate for treatment.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and defence minister Israel Katz ordered the strikes on Tuesday morning, a statement from the prime minister's office said.
"This follows Hamas's repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals it has received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediators."
"Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength," it added.
Israel says Hamas is still holding 59 hostages - all but one who were taken on 7 October 2023. Twenty-four of the hostages are believed to still be alive.
Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, warned Hamas to release all the hostages, stating "we will show no mercy on our enemies".
But a group representing hostages' families said the Israeli government "chose to give up the hostages".
The statement by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum expressed shock and anger at what it called the "deliberate dismantling of the process to return our loved ones".
The group later issued an emergency call for a protest in Jerusalem, saying the hostages were "in grave danger".
The Israeli air force attacked targets in Gaza City, Rafah and Khan Younis in the early hours of Tuesday.
Ramez Alammarin, 25, told AFP news agency how he carried children to hospital south-east of Gaza City.
"They unleashed the fire of Hell again on Gaza," he said of Israel, adding that "bodies and limbs are on the ground, and the wounded cannot find any doctor to treat them".

UN says worker killed in Gaza as Israeli air strikes resume
The UN says that one of its workers has been killed and others injured after a compound in Gaza was damaged on Wednesday, adding that the circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
The Palestinian territory's Hamas-run health ministry blamed an Israeli strike and said five critically injured foreign workers had arrived in hospital. Israel's military denied striking the UN compound in Deir al-Balah.
It comes after Israel said it was resuming fighting in Gaza following a two-month ceasefire - launching a wave of strikes that killed more than 400 people, according to Gaza's health ministry.
On Tuesday, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it had "resumed combat in full force".
A day later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was extending ground operations in Gaza up to the Netzarim corridor, which divides the north and south of the strip.
Troops moved into the area "to create a partial buffer between northern and southern Gaza", the military added.
The UN initially said two of its workers had been killed but later clarified that the second person was not a staff member.
The UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) said an "explosive ordnance was dropped or fired" at the building, which was in an "isolated" location.
It added there was no confirmation on the nature of the incident or the type of artillery used.
UNOPS executive director Jorge Moreira da Silva described the incident as "not an accident" and added that "UN personnel and its premises must be protected by all sides".
In a statement, a spokesperson for UN Secretary General António Guterres said two guesthouses were hit and called for a full investigation.
Footage verified by the BBC showed injured people - two still wearing blue UN flak jackets - arriving at a hospital in an ambulance and a UN car.
Separately, at least 20 people were killed in air strikes across Gaza overnight, after Israel said it was resuming fighting in the Palestinian territory.
Two civilians were killed and five others injured when an Israeli drone hit a tent near the al-Mawasi humanitarian zone, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reports, citing Red Crescent medics.
Israel's army said it had targeted what it called a Hamas military site, from where the group was preparing to fire into Israel. Vessels controlled by Hamas were also hit, the army said.
The bombing is not of the same scale as it was on Tuesday - but it shows no let-up in Israel's fresh assault.
Tom Fletcher, the UN's under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief, said of Tuesday's strikes that "the intensity of the killings is now off the scale".
Wafa says a woman and child were killed in an air strike north of Khan Younis overnight into Wednesday, while four others were killed in a strike in Gaza City.
Gaza's health ministry said that 436 people had been killed in strikes since Tuesday, including 183 children.
Tuesday's strikes constituted the heaviest bombardment since a fragile ceasefire and hostage exchange deal came into effect on 19 January, and came after Israel and Hamas failed to agree how to take it beyond an initial phase.

Israel says it has launched new ground operation in Gaza
CAIRO/JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The Israeli military said on Wednesday its forces have resumed ground operations in the central and southern Gaza Strip, as a second day of airstrikes killed at least 38 Palestinians, according to local health workers.
The renewed ground operations come a day after more than 400 Palestinians were killed in airstrikes in one of the deadliest episodes since the beginning of the conflict in October 2023, shattering a ceasefire that has largely held since January.
The Israeli military said its operations have extended Israel's control over the Netzarim Corridor, which bisects Gaza, and were a "focused" manoeuvre aimed at creating a partial buffer zone between the north and the south of the enclave.
The United Nations said an Israeli airstrike had killed a foreign staffer and wounded five workers at the site of a U.N. headquarters in central Gaza City on Wednesday. But Israel denied this, saying it had hit a Hamas site, where it had detected preparations for firing into Israeli territory.
Jorge Moreira da Silva, executive director of the U.N. Office for Project Services, said: "Israel knew that this was a U.N. premises, that people were living, staying and working there, it is a compound. It is a very well-known place."
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a full investigation and condemned all attacks on U.N. personnel. In a statement he said the strike brought to at least 280 the number of U.N. colleagues killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
In Sofia, the foreign ministry said a Bulgarian working for the U.N. died on Wednesday in Gaza, citing preliminary information. It was not immediately clear if the Bulgarian was the foreign U.N. staffer killed in Gaza.
Israel, which has vowed to eradicate Hamas, said its latest onslaught was "just the beginning".

At least 85 killed in new Israeli Gaza strikes, Hamas-run health ministry says
At least 85 Palestinians have been killed in overnight Israeli air strikes in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry has said.
Hours later Israel's military said it intercepted three rockets which Hamas's armed wing said it fired at Tel Aviv in response.
It comes after Israel resumed its bombing campaign and ground operations in the territory this week, with air strikes having already killed more than 430 people over the past two days, according to the health ministry.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday it had started a ground operation in northern Gaza. There had been a lull in large-scale military action since January when a ceasefire began.
Gaza's health ministry also reported that 133 people were injured in the latest attacks on Thursday.
Israel resumed attacks on Tuesday as talks to extend the deal failed to progress, warning they would intensify until Hamas released the remaining hostages.
Israel says Hamas is still holding 59 hostages, 24 of whom are believed to be alive.

"The world's most moral army" continues the Genocide !
Children, a doctor: Here are some of the people Israel killed in Gaza. Israel has left families bereaved and shocked across the Gaza Strip with a new wave of brutal attacks.
The Israeli military has been bombing across Gaza since the early hours of the morning, killing over 400 Palestinians and wounding more than 500 others. With many children and women among the dead, the casualty figures are only expected to rise. Entire families have once again been wiped out.
Dr Majda Abu Aker, who was an obstetrics-gynaecology specialist at an UNRWA clinic in Rafah, and more than a dozen others were massacred by an Israeli air strike on her house in al-Jenaina neighbourhood in Rafah.
At least 10 of the killed Palestinians were members of the same family, including several women and their children. The youngest was a three-day-old infant girl.

Israel orders army to 'seize additional territories' in Gaza
Israel's defence minister has told the military to "seize additional areas in Gaza" and threatened to permanently occupy parts of it, if Hamas does not free all remaining hostages.
Israel Katz said that the military would continue its ground operation in Gaza "with increasing intensity" until all of the hostages "both living and dead" were returned.
It is thought 24 of the 59 hostages still held in Gaza are alive, but their fate remains in the balance after negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire deal failed to progress.
The fragile ceasefire that had been in place since January ended this week as Israel resumed its ground campaign and bombing of Gaza, killing hundreds of people.
Israel has accused Hamas of rejecting proposals to extend the ceasefire. Hamas has said it is "engaging with the mediators with full responsibility and seriousness".
However, Katz said in a statement on Friday that "the more Hamas continues its refusal, the more territory it will lose to Israel".
Katz added that Israel still agreed to a proposal, which was brought by US envoy Steve Witkoff, "to release all the kidnapped, both living and dead, in advance and in two stages with a ceasefire in between".
"We will intensify the fighting with strikes from the air, sea and land and by expanding the ground manoeuvre until the hostages are released and Hamas is defeated," Katz wrote.
The defence minister also said Israel would "implement US President Trump's voluntary transfer plan for Gaza residents".
Trump said he wants the US to take over and rebuild the Gaza Strip, while permanently removing its population of two million Palestinians.

Israel intercepts Houthi missile launched at Tel Aviv airport
The Israel Defense Forces intercepted a missile launched by the Houthis from Yemeni territory at Ben Gurion Airport, according to the IDF's Telegram channel and The Times of Israel.
It was reported that on March 21, around 10:30 p.m., air raid sirens sounded in several areas of Israel. Later, the military intercepted a missile launched from Yemeni territory before it crossed into Israeli territory.
The attack was claimed by Yemeni Houthi rebels. They stated that their target was Ben Gurion Airport.
In their statement, the militants warn all airlines that the so-called Ben-Gurion Airport has become dangerous for air traffic and will remain so until the aggression against Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted.

More than 50,000 killed in Gaza since Israel offensive began, Hamas-run ministry says
More than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed during Israel's military campaign in Gaza, the territory's Hamas-run health ministry has announced.
That number - 50,021 - equates to about 2.1% of the 2.3 million pre-war population of the territory, or around 1 in 46 people.
A total of 113,274 others had been injured in the same period, the health ministry said.
Figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health (MoH) have been widely used throughout the war and are seen as reliable by the United Nations (UN) and international institutions. But Israel has consistently disputed data published by Gaza's authorities.
International journalists, including the BBC, are blocked by Israel from entering Gaza independently, so are unable to verify figures from either side.
The figures released by the MoH for the number of people killed do not differentiate between civilians and fighters.
In November, the UN's Human Rights Office said its analysis showed close to 70% of verified victims over a six-month period were women and children.
In January, The Lancet medical journal published a study which suggested the death toll could in fact be substantially higher than official figures reported by MoH - by up to 41%.
The war was triggered by Hamas's attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people, mainly civilians, were killed and 251 other taken hostage.
Israel responded to the 7 October attack with a massive military offensive, which has caused vast destruction to homes and infrastructure, in addition to those killed or injured.
The MoH also reported on Sunday at least 39 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people killed to 673 since Israel resumed its military operations in the territory on Tuesday.

Israeli air strike kills top Hamas official in Gaza
An Israeli air strike on the southern city of Khan Younis in Gaza has killed top Hamas political leader Salah al-Bardaweel, a Hamas official has told the BBC.
Locals say the air strike killed both Bardaweel, regarded as Hamas's highest-ranking political leader, and his wife. Israeli officials had no immediate comment.
The total death toll in Gaza since the war began surpassed 50,000 on Sunday, its Hamas-run health authorities said, with least 30 people killed in Khan Yunis and Rafah so far on Sunday.
Israel resumed heavy strikes on Gaza earlier this week - in effect ending the first phase of a ceasefire that lasted almost two months. It blamed Hamas for rejecting a new US proposal to extend the truce.
Hamas, in turn, accused Israel of abandoning the original deal - mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the US. It envisaged the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the subsequent release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners - in addition to negotiations to end the war entirely and reconstruct Gaza.
In a statement on Sunday, Hamas said Bardaweel, 66, had been praying along with his wife when an Israeli missile struck their tent.
A father of eight, Bardaweel was one of Hamas's most prominent political figures.
Born in Khan Younis refugee camp, he was known to be close to Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and is considered part of the second generation of Hamas leadership, following the movement's founders.
He headed the political wing of Hamas's parliamentary bloc and was re-elected to the group's political bureau in 2021.
Following the killing of Sinwar and Rawhi Mushtaha during the ongoing war, Bardaweel was regarded as Hamas's highest-ranking political leader.
The air strike that killed Bardaweel was part of one of the most intense waves of aerial bombardment in southern Gaza since the collapse of the ceasefire agreement last Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society told the BBC that Israeli forces were surrounding several of the organisation's ambulances as they attempted to reach an area hit by an Israeli strike in Rafah.
He added that several paramedics were wounded, and contact had been lost with one of the trapped teams, which has been besieged for hours.
The Israeli military issued evacuation orders for residents of the Tel al-Sultan neighbourhood in western Rafah after the area was hit by heavy shelling and a limited ground assault.
The attack included tank fire from Israeli forces positioned along the Philadelphi Corridor on the border with Egypt, and helicopters also took part in the assault.
Alaa al-Din Sabah, a resident of the neighbourhood, said in a voice message to the BBC: "Bullets are raining down on us like it's pouring. A woman was shot and is bleeding. Ambulances couldn't reach her."
"I can see one of the paramedics lying on the ground, screaming."
The Israeli military launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross-border attack on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage.

Israeli Ambassador Advocates for Execution of Palestinian Children.....:o
Roet suggested that Palestinian minors involved in the resistance should face execution, particularly those found holding a gun or a grenade.
There should be a death sentence to be killed off in war if you are holding a gun, even if you are a 16-year-old. He also addressed concerns about civilian casualties in Gaza, claiming, If you believe that there are no uninvolved (people) in Gaza… you’re believing that Israel is targeting babies intentionally, which is not correct.
According to UNICEF, more than 14,500 children have been killed by Israel in Gaza since the start of the war on October 7, 2023. These figures do not include the number of children killed after the Gaza ceasefire was broken by Israel, or the thousands who are still missing.
At least 673 Palestinians have been killed since Israel resumed its offensive, bringing the total death toll since October 7, 2023, to 50,021, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

You appear to be ignorant of the fact that Hamas has killed Children. Either that or you conveniently forget or obscure the fact that Hamas is and was Implicit in killing of Toddlers of 10 months and older.
Quote :
“We can confirm that baby Kfir Bibas, just 10 months old, and his older brother Ariel, aged four, were both brutally murdered by terrorists while being held hostage in Gaza no later than November 2023. These two innocent children were taken hostage alive, along with their mother, Shiri, from their home on October 7, 2023,” IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in a televised statement.
The IDF statement came hours after it was discovered that Hamas had not returned the body of the boys’ mother Shiri, sending instead the body of a Gazan woman and later claiming that there had been a mix-up with the bodies during an Israeli airstrike.
Hagari said the evidence clearly showed that they were not killed in an airstrike as Hamas claimed. “Contrary to Hamas’s lies, Ariel and Kfir were not killed in an airstrike. Ariel and Kfir Bibas were murdered in cold blood by terrorists,

I get that as you mention Teens that have been indoctrinated to kill by Hamas. If the teens in question pick up weapons to use against IDF, they are enemy Combatants. There is a difference between them and Toddlers. This is why they are being targeted by Israel.

It’s vital for all of us in Britain to speak out now against our own government’s complicity in Israel’s genocide.:D
For over a year now it’s been clear that Israel’s plan is to destroy Palestinian society in Gaza in order to force as many people as possible to leave. This policy has many differences from Nazi Germany’s plan to destroy Jewish society in Europe – but it also has many similarities. That is why, as a Holocaust survivor, I’ve felt compelled to join various pro-Palestine protests in London.
Most importantly, this whole campaign is an intentional distraction from the main issue, which is to stop the Gaza genocide now. As Israel resumes its indiscriminate bombing – murdering hundreds more civilians in Gaza – it’s vital for all of us in Britain to speak out now against our own government’s complicity in Israel’s genocide.

Hundreds join Gaza's largest anti-Hamas protest since war began
Hundreds of people have taken part in the largest anti-Hamas protest in Gaza since the war with Israel began, taking to the streets to demand the group step down from power.
Masked Hamas militants, some armed with guns and others carrying batons, intervened and forcibly dispersed the protesters, assaulting several of them.
Videos shared widely on social media by activists typically critical of Hamas showed young men marching in the streets of Beit Lahia, northern Gaza on Tuesday, chanting "out, out, out, Hamas out".
Hamas has not commented directly on the protest, but in a statement on Wednesday it blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for resuming the war.
Pro-Hamas supporters downplayed the significance of the protests and accused the participants of being traitors.
The protests in northern Gaza came a day after Islamic Jihad gunmen launched rockets at Israel, prompting an Israeli decision to evacuate large parts of Beit Lahia, which sparked public anger in the area.
Israel has resumed its military campaign in Gaza following nearly two months of ceasefire, blaming Hamas for rejecting a new US proposal to extend the truce. Hamas, in turn, has accused Israel of abandoning the original deal agreed in January.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and thousands displaced since Israeli military operations resumed with air strikes on 18 March.
One of the protesters, Beit Lahia resident Mohammed Diab, had his home destroyed in the war and lost his brother in an Israeli airstrike a year ago.
"We refuse to die for anyone, for any party's agenda or the interests of foreign states," he said.
"Hamas must step down and listen to the voice of the grieving, the voice that rises from beneath the rubble - it is the most truthful voice."
Footage from the town also showed protesters shouting "down with Hamas rule, down with the Muslim Brotherhood rule".
Hamas has been the sole ruler in Gaza since 2007, after winning Palestinian elections a year prior and then violently ousting rivals.
Open criticism of Hamas has grown in Gaza since war began, both on the streets and online, though there are still those that are fiercely loyal and it is hard to accurately gauge how far support for the group has shifted.
There was opposition to Hamas long before the war, though much of it remained hidden for fear of reprisals.
Mohammed Al-Najjar, from Gaza, posted on his Facebook: "Excuse me, but what exactly is Hamas betting on? They're betting on our blood, blood that the whole world sees as just numbers.
"Even Hamas counts us as numbers. Step down and let us tend to our wounds."
The war in Gaza was triggered by Hamas's attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, during which around 1,200 people, mainly civilians, were killed and 251 others taken hostage.
Israel responded to the attack with a military offensive in Gaza to destroy Hamas, which has killed more than 50,000 Palestinians, the Hamas-run health ministry said.
Most of Gaza's 2.1 million population has also been displaced, many of them several times.
An estimated 70% of buildings have been damaged or destroyed in Gaza, healthcare, water and sanitation systems have collapsed and there are shortages of food, fuel, medicine and shelter.

Did it bring Israel victory? I don't think so. Did it create a better political reality? The tragedy of Israel's public security debate is that Israel don't realize that they face a frustrating situation in which they win every battle, but lose the war. On the other hand, it's a brutal occupation force, similar to the Germans in World War ll. Similar, not identical. And I'm not talking about their behaviour toward the Jews. That was exceptional, with its own particular characteristics. I mean, how they acted to the Poles, the Belgians, the Dutch... To all of them... The Czechs. It's a very negative trait that Israel acquired, to be... Israel became cruel, to themselves as well, but mainly to the occupied population, using the excuse of the war against terror.Victory is simply the creation of a better political reality. That's victory. Victory doesn't dictate that Israel have to conquer, annihilate Gaza or Ramallah or Nablus or Hebron.
This^ is related to...If it makes sense to raze the place with collateral damage people included then yes I make sense to quote (Meinem Kampf) Hitler. The result is the same thinking of an Endlösung of the crisis.
In other words you have no cogent alternative, other than equating my opinion with being a Nazi. Kudos to you. The many ways Israeli settlers steal Palestinian homes :D
On Monday, Ghassan Abdel Basset and his family left their home in the occupied West Bank to visit a relative. Later that evening, their neighbours informed them that Israeli settlers had invaded their home. Ghassan hurried back to confront the settlers, but the Israeli army intervened to block him and his family from getting back to their house. The settlers claimed they bought the home, but the Abdel Basset family never put it up for sale. "The settlers claim they bought the house from someone, but nobody gave this person the legal right to sell our house,” Ghassan told Al Jazeera.
Accelerated expulsion
Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territory IS ILLEGAL UNDER INTERNATIONAL LAW. As an occupier, Israel is not allowed to transfer its citizens into occupied territory or enforce its national laws there. However, more than 750,000 Israeli settlers live in illegal settlements in the West Bank, and many have forged property deeds to provide a veneer of legality to confiscate Palestinian homes. This is one of several strategies that state-backed settlers use to uproot Palestinians.
Settlers, backed by the Israeli state, also vandalise homes, set up outposts, attack farmers, destroy crops and steal livestock under the supervision of the Israeli army. On top of that, 14 illegal outposts have been erected on land that Palestinian farmers, herders and Bedouins used to live on.
The other aspect is that Trump is surrounded by people who are not just backers of Israel but of "Greater Israel". That means they believe the land biblically belongs exclusively to Israelis. After Trump was inaugurated on January 20, he quickly signed an executive order to lift sanctions on settlers. The next day, settler attacks surged across the West Bank.
Leith, a Palestinian farmer said: Nobody cares about human rights. Human rights is just one big lie, Animals have more rights than us! :timeout:

UAE evacuates 188 Palestinians from Gaza in latest humanitarian mission
The UAE has evacuated an additional 188 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, in co-ordination with the World Health Organisation, in its latest humanitarian operation in support of the besieged enclave.
They include 81 patients – half of whom are children - set to receive treatment for cancer and other serious injuries. They were joined by 107 family members on arrival in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
They were flown to the capital from Ramon Airport in Israel after crossing through the Karam Abu Salem border.
The crucial assistance is in line with President Sheikh Mohamed’s directive for treatment to be provided in UAE hospitals to 1,000 wounded Palestinian children and a further 1,000 cancer patients.

Mapping how IsraelÂ’s land grabs are reshaping the occupied West Bank
IsraelÂ’s continuing military assault in Jenin and Tulkarem seeks to suppress resistance and tighten control amid a demographic crisis.
While global attention remains fixed on IsraelÂ’s war on Gaza, Israel is rapidly redrawing the map of the occupied West Bank.
On January 21, just two days after a ceasefire took effect in Gaza, the Israeli military intensified its assault across the occupied West Bank, particularly in the northern regions. Israeli bulldozers have razed entire residential areas, forcibly expelling at least 40,000 people from their homes.
For the first time since the second Intifada, Israeli forces have reintroduced tank incursions and air attacks into the West Bank, part of a systematic Israeli strategy to change the geography of the West Bank, paving the way for full annexation.
Since 1967, Israel has militarily occupied the West Bank, subjecting Palestinians to checkpoints, arbitrary arrests, home demolitions, land seizures, settlement expansion and frequent raids, severely restricting every aspect of their lives.
The West Bank is home to approximately 3.3 million Palestinians. It is divided into 11 governorates, with Hebron, or al-Khalil in Arabic, being the most populous at about 842,000 residents. Jerusalem follows with 500,000, Nablus with 440,000, Ramallah and el-Bireh with 377,000 and Jenin with 360,000.
About 700,000 Israelis live in illegal settlements on Palestinian land.
Escalating attacks before October 7
Deadly attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank have persisted for years.
Since systematic documentation began in 2008, UN data shows that at least 1,896 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers.
By October 6, 2023 – just hours before the Al-Aqsa Flood operation – the death toll for 2023 had already risen to 198, surpassing 2022’s total of 154 and making it the deadliest year on record at the time.
Since October 7, 2023, the number of attacks has skyrocketed.
Over the past 17 months, more than 900 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank. More than half of them were from Jenin and Tulkarem.
Amnesty International described this violence as “brutal”, citing unlawful killings, the disproportionate use of deadly force, and the deliberate denial of medical care to the wounded – all unfolding as global attention remains fixated on Gaza.
Settler violence: An informal weapon of displacement
Settler attacks have become a daily occurrence in the West Bank, especially in rural areas near settlement outposts. Settlers have blocked roads to Palestinian communities, hindering access to essential services and livelihoods. In some instances, they have destroyed water sources, cutting off vital resources for Palestinian herding communities.
Illegal seizure of Palestinian land
A June 2024 report by HaMoked, an Israeli human rights organisation, showed that Israel has rapidly intensified its control over the West Bank since October 2023, moving towards full annexation.
In 2024, 24,700 dunams (6,100 acres or 2,470 hectares) were classified as “state land” by Israeli authorities, surpassing the 23,000 dunams annexed between 2000 and 2023. Additionally, 68 illegal settlement outposts were recognised by Israel and provided with infrastructure, deepening Israeli control.
SmotrichÂ’s transfer of planning and demolition powers has accelerated the forced displacement of Palestinians. His administration works with settlers to seize land, demolish Palestinian homes, and recognise illegal outposts, further entrenching settlement control.
According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), displacement has doubled in recent months, with the latest military operation triggering the largest wave of Palestinian displacement in the West Bank since 1967, with more than 40,000 people being forced to flee their homes.
These figures point to a strategy of dismantling Palestinian communities, as their presence in the West Bank poses a demographic challenge to Israel.
In addition, since October 2023, the Israeli military has imposed severe movement restrictions on Palestinians, with 793 checkpoints by November 2024, 60 percent of which are in Hebron, Nablus, and Ramallah – hindering medical access, disrupting trade and isolating communities.
Open calls for annexation and displacement
Despite rapid settlement expansion, Israel faces a key demographic challenge, as the birthrate among the Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Israel remains higher than among Israelis living in Israel and the occupied West Bank, although population numbers are roughly equal now.
This strategy is evident in statements by Israeli officials. In March 2025, Defense Minister Israel Yoav Katz defended illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank as “essential for protecting Israeli cities”, while media figures like Gideon Dokov called the forced removal of Palestinians from all of Palestine “the only humanitarian solution”, labelling Palestinians as “a murderous nation”.
The “Fighting for Life” campaign echoed this message with the slogan “No Future in Palestine”, encouraging what they euphemistically called “voluntary emigration”.
Meanwhile, Meir Masri, professor of geopolitics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said on social media platform X that the annexation of the West Bank is “the greatest Zionist achievement since 1967”, calling it a historic opportunity that must not be missed.
In contrast, a policy paper for 2025–2026, published by the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) warned that unilateral annexation would deepen Israel’s global isolation, push it towards a one-state reality where Jews risk becoming a minority, and contradict core Zionist ideology.

Hamas says it accepts a new ceasefire proposal but Israel makes counter-offer
The Hamas militant group said Saturday it has accepted a new Gaza ceasefire proposal from mediators Egypt and Qatar, but Israel said it has made a counter-proposal in “full coordination” with the third mediator, the United States.
Egypt early in the week made a proposal to get the troubled ceasefire back on track, following Israel’s surprise resumption of fighting. It was not immediately clear whether the proposal changed before Khalil al-Hayyah, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, announced it had been accepted.
Early in the week, an Egyptian official described the proposal to The Associated Press, saying Hamas would release five living hostages, including an American-Israeli, from Gaza in return for Israel allowing aid into the territory and a weekslong pause in fighting. Israel would release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief media on the closed-door talks.
On Saturday, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave no details about Israel’s counter-proposal, which it said was offered after Netanyahu held consultations on Friday.
Israel a week and a half ago ended its ceasefire with Hamas by launching a surprise wave of strikes that killed hundreds of people. The White House blamed Hamas for the renewed fighting.
Israel has vowed to escalate the war until Hamas returns the 59 hostages it still holds — 24 of them believed to be alive. Israel also wants Hamas to give up power, disarm and send its leaders into exile. On Saturday, Israel widened its ground operations in Gaza's southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt.
Hamas has said it will only release the remaining captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Frustrated by the threat to remaining hostages in Gaza, families and others rallied again Saturday evening to call for a deal that would bring everyone home.
“The price of your war is the life of the hostages!” some protesters chanted in Tel Aviv. Minor scuffles broke out with police.
“War will not bring our hostages home, it will kill them,” Naama Weinberg, cousin of deceased hostage Itay Svirsky, told a weekly gathering of families in Tel Aviv.
The war in Gaza was triggered by Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack into Israel, in which Palestinian militants killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducted 251.
Israel’s retaliatory offensive has killed over 50,000 people, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which does not say how many were civilians or combatants. Israel’s bombardment and ground operations have caused vast destruction and at their height displaced some 90% of Gaza’s population of over 2 million people.
Early this month, Israel again cut off all supplies to Gaza to pressure Hamas to accept new terms to the ceasefire that started in mid-January.
Israel had balked at entering negotiations over the truce's second phase, which were meant to begin in early February. Under the agreement, phase two was meant to bring the release of the remaining 24 living hostages, an end to the war and full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

Israeli PM Netanyahu vows to pressure Hamas after ceasefire proposal
JERUSALEM/CAIRO (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged on Sunday to step up pressure on Hamas in Gaza while continuing negotiations to secure the release of hostages and working to implement U.S. President Donald Trump's "voluntary emigration" plan.
He said cabinet had agreed to increase pressure on Hamas, which says it has agreed to a ceasefire proposal from the mediators Egypt and Qatar.
Netanyahu rejected assertions that Israel, which has resumed its bombardment of Gaza after a two-month truce and sent troops back into the enclave, was not negotiating, saying "we are conducting it under fire, and therefore it is also effective".
"We see that there are suddenly cracks," he said in a video statement issued on Sunday.
On Saturday, Hamas said it had agreed to a proposal that security sources said included the release of five Israeli hostages each week, but it ruled out laying down its arms as Israel has demanded.
On Sunday, the first day of the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday, health authorities in Gaza said at least 20 people, including several children, had been killed in Israeli strikes. Nine were killed in a single tent in the southern city of Khan Yunis, they said.
Since Israel resumed its attacks in Gaza on March 18, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and tens of thousands have been forced to evacuate areas in northern Gaza where they had returned following the ceasefire agreement in January.
Netanyahu said Israel was demanding that Hamas lay down its arms and said its leaders would be allowed to leave Gaza. He gave no detail on how long Israeli troops would remain in the enclave but repeated that Hamas' military and government capacities must be crushed.
"We will ensure general security in the Gaza Strip and enable the implementation of the Trump plan, the voluntary emigration plan," he said. "That is the plan, we do not hide it, we are ready to discuss it at any time."
Trump originally proposed moving the entire 2.3 million population of Gaza to countries including Egypt and Jordan and developing the Gaza Strip as a U.S.-owned resort. However, no country has agreed to take in the population and Israel has since said that any departures by Palestinians would be voluntary.

Hamas Calls for Global Armed Uprising Against Gaza Relocation Plan
A senior Hamas official has called on supporters worldwide to rise up against a controversial plan backed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump to forcibly remove Gaza’s population.
In a statement released Monday, Hamas spokesperson Sami Abou Zouhri urged “anyone capable of using a weapon, anywhere in the world, to take action.”
“Don’t leave unused a single explosive, bullet, knife, or stone. Let everyone break their silence,” he said, as reported by Digi24, citing AFP.
The call comes amid heightened tensions following reports that Israel is preparing to implement a U.S.-endorsed initiative that would expel Gaza’s 2.4 million residents and deny them the right to return.
Though Trump has since downplayed his earlier remarks, saying he “won’t impose” the plan, Hamas continues to treat it as an imminent threat.
Hamas condemns relocation and occupation plans
Netanyahu said over the weekend that Israel is open to allowing Hamas leaders to leave Gaza—if the group disarms entirely. He added that post-war, Israel would maintain security control over Gaza and work to implement the Trump plan.
Zouhri’s statement framed the proposal as a “diabolical” combination of “massacres and starvation,” and called for global armed resistance in response.
Trump’s proposal to remove Gaza residents surfaced shortly after his return to the White House in January 2025. Despite widespread international condemnation, elements of the plan appear to be moving forward in Israel.
International and regional concern mounting
The threat of renewed violence and global calls to arms from Hamas have drawn concern from governments and security agencies. Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, Israel, and several other countries.
The group's call for violent action could have far-reaching implications, particularly as regional tensions remain high and global diplomatic efforts to end the Gaza conflict have largely stalled.

Israel proposes new ceasefire in Gaza and outlines its conditions, Reuters reports
Israel may agree to a new ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. However, for this to happen, Hamas must release approximately half of the hostages, Reuters informs.
According to unnamed Israeli officials, Israel has proposed a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for 40-50 days.
This proposal, according to Reuters, involves the release of approximately half of the 24 Hamas hostages believed to still be alive. They have been held captive by militants for nearly 18 months.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu only yesterday, on March 30, promised to intensify pressure on Hamas. However, he stated that diplomacy will also continue.
Netanyahu expressed confidence that sustained military pressure is the best way to secure the release of the hostages.
He also reiterated Israel's demands for Hamas's disarmament, although militants have rejected these calls as a "red line" they will not cross.
The prime minister clarified that Hamas leaders would be allowed to leave the Gaza Strip as part of a broader settlement, which would include proposals from US President Donald Trump for the "voluntary emigration" of Palestinians.
Ceasefire between Israel and Hamas
The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began on January 19. The agreements stipulated that Israel would release detained Palestinians to the militants, and in return, they would free the hostages.
However, the ceasefire did not last long. Due to Hamas delaying the release of the hostages, Israel resumed its attacks on militants in the Gaza Strip.

GENOCIDE AND WAR CRIMES CONTINUE !
Yet another Israeli war crime is buried in the sand as the world looks away
Fifteen Palestinian paramedics and first responders were executed in Rafah. Indifference is all they get.
Every day, Mohammad Bahloul gambled with his own life in the hope of saving others. As a medic in the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), he would step into the unknown each workday, never knowing if he would return to his family.
A week before Eid al-Fitr, Mohammad was dispatched to RafahÂ’s Tal as-Sultan neighbourhood to recover the wounded and dead in the aftermath of Israeli attacks. Shortly after he and a team of medics and first responders arrived on the scene, Israeli ground troops encircled the area and closed off all the roads in and out. As the PRCS lost contact with its team, rumours began to spread across Rafah that those stuck inside would be massacred.
During the attempts of rescue teams to reach the area, UN workers witnessed civilians trying to flee being shot dead. On March 29, they were finally able to reach the area where the PRCS teams were attacked. There, the teams discovered the mangled remains of ambulances and UN and Civil Defence vehicles as well as a single body – that of Muhammad’s colleague, Anwar Alatar.
On March 30, the first day of Eid al-Fitr, they went back and uncovered 14 more bodies buried in the sand in a mass grave. All of them were still dressed in their uniforms and wearing gloves. Among them were Mohammad and his colleagues Mustafa Khafaja, Ezzedine ShaÂ’at, Saleh Moammar, Rifaat Radwan, Ashraf Abu Labda, Mohammad al-Hila, and Raed al-Sharif.
The killing of these paramedics is not an isolated incident. Israel has been systematically targeting medical and rescue workers as part of its genocidal war – a war against life itself in Gaza. Only in Gaza, medical uniforms and ambulances do not offer protection, which international law affords. Only in Gaza, medical uniforms and ambulances can mark people as targets for execution.
Despite the Israeli army’s attempt to cover up its crime by burying it in the sand, evidence speaks for what happened. A statement released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health on March 30 said the Israeli forces carried out an execution and that some of the victims were handcuffed and had injuries to the head and chest. The chief of the UN humanitarian affairs office in Palestine, Jonathan Whittall, said the paramedics and first responders were killed “one by one”.
Israel, of course, used the familiar playbook of denial and obfuscation. It first claimed the paramedics were members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Then it claimed that its soldiers fired on the ambulances because they were “advancing suspiciously toward” them.
Western governments continue to be actively complicit in the genocide by sending weapons and inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu despite the warrant for his arrest issued by the International Criminal Court.
How much longer will the world watch this genocidal violence in silence? There seems to be no end to the barbarity and crimes. The executions of these medics should have been a turning point, a moment of reckoning. Instead, they are yet another testament to the impunity granted to the Zionist apartheid regime.
May the souls of those who died in Tal as-Sultan rest in peace and may the political leaders of the Western world rest in shame.

Israel expands ground operations in Gaza 'to crush' Hamas
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has announced a major expansion of the military's operations in the Gaza Strip which aims to "crush and cleanse the area of terrorists and terrorist infrastructure."
The minister said on Wednesday the operation will "seize large areas that will be added to Israel’s security zones," without giving further details.
The military has deployed an additional unit for the expansion of operations in southern Gaza, according to media reports.
The defence minister called on residents of the coastal strip "to act now to remove Hamas and return all the hostages. This is the only way to end the war."
Katz had warned last month that Israel would permanently take over parts of Gaza if Hamas unless the remaining hostages are freed.
Recently, the Israeli military had called on the residents of the southern city of Rafah and neighbouring towns to evacuate.
Following months of conflict, a ceasefire took effect in Gaza on January 19, prompting many displaced residents to return home.
In mid-March, Israel resumed its massive air attacks after no agreement was reached with Hamas on the conditions for an extension of the ceasefire.
Since then, Israel has also launched ground operations against the Palestinian militants in Rafah, and on Saturday it reportedly extended the offensive to a second neighbourhood.
The aim of the new ground offensive in is also to establish a buffer zone along the borders of the coastal area, Israel said.
The war erupted after Hamas and other extremist groups attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing around 1,200 people and seizing more than 250 hostages.
According to the Hamas-controlled health authorities in Gaza, more than 50,100 people have been killed so far, a third of them children and young people.
The figures cannot be independently verified. However, international organizations such as the UN consider them to be largely credible.

THE FILTHY GENOCIDE CONTINUES !
Israel hits tents and homes in Gaza ‘with great force’. At least 1,163 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel resumed large-scale strikes on March 18.
Israeli attacks have killed dozens of Palestinians across Gaza overnight, including six members of a family. The strikes hit a displacement camp that Israel had designated as a “humanitarian” zone, and several tents housing displaced people in Khan Younis, with rescue teams rushing to the scene following the attack.
According to the enclave’s Ministry of Health, the figure includes nearly 100 people killed in the past 24 hours, while three additional bodies, killed in earlier strikes, were recovered in that period, taking the overall death toll to 50,423 since the war began on October 7, 2023.
It is not clear what the “known shelters” are. During the past forced evacuation orders, Adraee called on Palestinians to move to shelters in areas designated as “safe zones,” but these were later attacked by the Israeli army.

Before 1948 there were a lot of terror bombings made by the Israelis.
What about the Palestinians did they conduct terror against the Israelis and/or
the British ?
I'm 99 % sure it must have been Palestinian terror groups then, before 1948.
It was a friend who said Israel committed a lot of terror bombing before the creation of the state Israel and I tried to find info around Palestinian terror groups to counter him.

Gaza is a 'killing field', says UN chief, as agencies urge world to act on Israel's blockade
The UN's secretary-general says "aid has dried up [and] the floodgates of horror have re-opened" in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has blocked the entry of all goods and resumed the war against Hamas.
"Gaza is a killing field, and civilians are in an endless death loop," António Guterres said on Tuesday.
His comments come after the heads of six UN agencies appealed to world leaders to act urgently to ensure food and supplies reached Palestinians there.
Israel's foreign ministry insisted there was enough food in Gaza and accused Guterres of "spreading slander against Israel".
Israel blockaded Gaza on 2 March, after the first stage of a ceasefire expired. Hamas refused to extend that part of the truce, accusing Israel of reneging on its commitments.
Israel then renewed its aerial bombardment and ground offensive on 18 March and these have since killed 1,449 Palestinians, according to the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza. The Israeli military insists it does not target civilians.
In his address to journalists, Guterres said Israel, as the occupying power, had obligations under international law to ensure that food and medical supplies get to the population.
"The current path is a dead end – totally intolerable in the eyes of international law and history," he said.
Responding to the comments, Israel's foreign ministry said there was no aid shortage in Gaza.
"As always, you don't let the facts get in the way when spreading slander against Israel," spokesman Oren Marmorstein said.
"There is no shortage of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip - over 25,000 aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip in the 42 days of the cease fire," he added.
Guterres's comments followed a joint statement issued by six UN agencies on Monday that said world leaders must act urgently to make sure food and aid supplies get to Palestinians in the Strip.
Gazans were "trapped, bombed and starved again", the statement said.
"The latest ceasefire allowed us to achieve in 60 days what bombs, obstruction and lootings prevented us from doing in 470 days of war: life-saving supplies reaching nearly every part of Gaza," it said.
"While this offered a short respite, assertions that there is now enough food to feed all Palestinians in Gaza are far from the reality on the ground, and commodities are running extremely low."
The statement was signed by the heads of:
OCHA - UN's Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs
Unicef - UN's children's agency
WFP - World Food Programme
WHO - World Health Organization
Unrwa - UN agency for Palestinian refugees
UNOPS - UN Office for Project Services
Because of the blockade, all UN-supported bakeries have closed, markets are empty of most fresh vegetables and hospitals are rationing painkillers and antibiotics.
The statement says that Gaza's "partially functional health system is overwhelmed [and]... essential medical and trauma supplies are rapidly running out."
"With the tightened Israeli blockade on Gaza now in its second month, we appeal to world leaders to act – firmly, urgently and decisively – to ensure the basic principles of international humanitarian law are upheld.
"Protect civilians. Facilitate aid. Release hostages. Renew a ceasefire."
The two-month pause in fighting saw a surge in humanitarian aid let into Gaza, as well as the release by Hamas of 33 hostages - eight of them dead - in exchange for about 1,900 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
On Tuesday, Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry said at least 58 people had been killed in the territory over the previous 24 hours.
Israeli strikes overnight killed 19 people, including five children whose home in the central town of Deir al-Balah was hit, according to the Hamas-run Civil Defence agency.
Another 11 people were reportedly killed in two separate strikes in the northern town of Beit Lahia and an area north-west of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) said a second Palestinian journalist had died of the wounds following an Israeli strike on Monday.
Ahmed Mansour suffered severe burns when a media tent in the southern city Khan Younis was hit, also killing his Palestine Today colleague Helmi al-Faqaawi.
The Israeli military said the strike targeted a third journalist, Hassan Eslaih, whom it accused of being a "Hamas terrorist". The PJS said Eslaih was in a critical condition following the attack, along with several other journalists.
The war was triggered by Hamas's unprecedented attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others taken back to Gaza as hostages.
More than 50,810 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive since then, according to Gaza's health ministry.

Israel says it will expand its offensive across most of Gaza
Israel's defence minister has announced the military will soon "expand vigorously" its offensive throughout most of Gaza.
Israel Katz also said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had completed the takeover of a "security zone" in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, separating the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis.
Israel's military also issued evacuation orders for Khan Younis and its surrounding areas, saying it was preparing to carry out strikes in response to the launch of projectiles from Gaza, which Hamas claimed responsibility for.
Israel resumed its offensive against Hamas on 18 March following the collapse of a two-month ceasefire.
Since then, it has seized large areas of Gaza, displacing hundreds of thousands of Gazans once more.
The military has already seized land running along the entirety of the Palestinian territory's borders, which it has characterised as a buffer zone to prevent attacks.
Israeli officials have said the ongoing offensive aims to pressure Hamas into freeing the 59 remaining hostages held in Gaza - 24 of whom are believed to be alive.
On Saturday, Katz said the IDF had completed the takeover of the "Morag axis" - a reference to a former Jewish settlement located between Rafah and Khan Younis.
"The IDF has now completed the takeover of the Morag axis that crosses Gaza between Rafah and Khan Younis and makes the entire area between the Philadelphia axis and Morag part of the Israeli security zone," he said.
The takeover of the corridor effectively cuts the southern city of Rafah off from Khan Younis. Rafah makes up almost one fifth of Gaza.
Katz also warned that "IDF activity will soon expand vigorously to additional locations throughout most of Gaza" and people in these areas "will have to evacuate the fighting zones".
"This is the last moment to remove Hamas and release the hostages and bring about an end to the war," he said.
He added that areas of northern Gaza, including the city of Beit Hanoun and in the Netzarim Corridor - which cuts through central Gaza - were also being evacuated so that a "security zone" could be expanded there too.
"In northern Gaza as well - in Beit Hanoun and other neighbourhoods - residents are evacuating, the area is being taken over and the security zone is being expanded, including in the Netzarim corridor," Katz said.
When approached for comment, the IDF told the BBC to refer to Israel's defence ministry.

Sometimes i get the feeling, they are too much focused on Gaza, and less on the West Bank.
While Hamas is ruling Gaza and Fatah is ruling the West Bank. Sometimes i feel Hamas is being targeted because its kinda the only military more radical arm of the Palestinians.
If Hamas was ruling the West Bank too. I don't think Jewish settlers would illegally occupy parts of the West Bank like they do today.
I'm not pro Hamas. But i feel like the Palestinians don't have someone to defend themselves. So they join the more extremists sides like Hamas.
If you take any authority away from the Palestinians. And the illegal settlers still are taking away houses or stealing land in the West Bank. Some Palestinians feel helpless and Hamas sees this as a perfect way to recruit new people.
Hamas needs to go away. but there needs to be some kind of Palestinian police force.
Palestinians are drawn to Hamas. Because they have no one else to defend themselves.
If i was a Palestinian and i'm living in the West Bank getting harrassed by those settlers. I would join Hamas too. Not because i agree with there radical ideas. But because i want to defend myself.
I think the only real solution is a two state solution with harsh conditions on both sides. And get rid of the extremist Hamas and the illegal jewish settlers.
Both sides have extremist on there sides, that need to go away. There are Palestinians and Israeli people that get along pretty well.

Hamas rejects Israeli ceasefire disarmament proposal, Palestinian official says
Hamas is said to have rejected an Israeli proposal for a six-week ceasefire in Gaza which called for the armed group to give up its weapons.
A senior Palestinian official familiar with the talks said the plan gave no commitment to end the war or for an Israeli troop pull-out - key Hamas demands - in exchange for releasing half of the living hostages which it holds.
It comes as Israel continues its military offensive in Gaza.
A security guard was killed and nine other people were injured in an air strike on a field hospital in Khan Younis, the hospital said. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) did not immediately comment.
A UN agency meanwhile warned that "the humanitarian situation in Gaza is now likely the worst it has been in the 18 months since the outbreak of hostilities".
It is six weeks since Israel allowed any supplies to enter through crossings into the Palestinian territory - by far the longest such stoppage to date.
UN agencies strongly refute Israel's claim that there is enough food in Gaza to last for a long time and suggest the blockade could breach international humanitarian law.
Israel's prime minister said the block on supplies was aimed at pressuring Hamas to release hostages and to extend the ceasefire which expired on 1 March.
At the same time, the UN's humanitarian affairs office stated: "Partners on the ground report a surge in attacks causing mass civilian casualties and the destruction of some of the remaining infrastructure that's needed to keep people alive."

Israeli troops will remain in Gaza 'security zones' after war, minister says
Israel's defence minister has said troops will remain in so-called security zones they have established by seizing large areas of Gaza even after an end to the war.
Israel Katz said the zones would provide a "buffer" to protect Israeli communities "in any temporary or permanent situation", and that "tens of per cent" of the Palestinian territory had been added since the Israeli offensive resumed three weeks ago.
Israel would continue its six-week blockade of humanitarian aid to pressure Hamas to release hostages, he said, despite the UN warning of "devastating" consequences.
On Wednesday Médecins Sans Frontičres (MSF) became the latest international organisation to sound alarm at the impact of Israel's campaign, saying that Gaza had been "turned into a mass grave of Palestinians and those coming to their assistance".
"We are witnessing in real time the destruction and forced displacement of the entire population in Gaza," Amande Bazerolle, the charity's emergency co-ordinator in Gaza, said.
Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry has said more than 1,650 people have been killed since the war resumed on 18 March.
Hospital officials said at least 24 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza on Wednesday.
The majority of those reported killed were in Gaza City, in the north.
They included 10 members of the Hassouna family, mostly children and women. One of them was Fatema Hassouna - a young writer and photographer.
The BBC has asked the Israeli military for comment on the strike.

Hamas formally rejects Israeli ceasefire offer
Hamas has formally rejected Israel's latest ceasefire offer, saying it is prepared to immediately negotiate a deal that would see the release of all remaining hostages in return for an end to the war and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
In a video statement, Hamas's chief negotiator, Khalil al-Hayya, said: "We will not accept partial deals that serve [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's political agenda."
Fifty-nine hostages remain in captivity and 24 are thought to be alive. Israel's latest offer involved a 45-day ceasefire in return for the release of 10 hostages.
Far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said it was time "to open the gates of hell" on Hamas.
Hamas officials had already indicated to the BBC earlier in the week that they would reject the plan.
"Netanyahu and his government use partial agreements as a cover for their political agenda, which is based on continuing the war of extermination and starvation, even if the price is sacrificing all his prisoners [hostages]," Hayya said.
He added the group was "ready to immediately negotiate a deal to swap all hostages with an agreed number of Palestinians jailed by Israel" and end the war.
Hamas has previously said it would contemplate an overall deal to end the war but the two sides are nowhere near any kind of agreement that would bring that about.
Israel's stated aim is the complete disarmament and destruction of Hamas. Meanwhile dozens of Gazans are dying each day in air strikes with no humanitarian aid entering the strip at all.
The latest series of Israeli strikes killed at least 37 people, the majority of them displaced civilians living in a tented camp, according to Gaza's Hamas-run civil defence agency.
Witnesses in al-Mawasi said dozens of Palestinians including children had died after tents were set ablaze following a "powerful" explosion.
"I rushed outside and saw the tent next to mine engulfed in flames," a man told the BBC's Gaza Lifeline programme.
The Israeli military did not immediately comment but said that it was looking into reports of the strikes.
Israel has previously told Palestinians to evacuate from other parts of Gaza to al-Mawasi.
The Israeli military said attacks over the past two days had "struck over 100 terror targets" including "terrorist cells, military structures and infrastructure sites".
Israel said there was no shortage of aid and that it was maintaining the blockade installed on 1 March to pressure Hamas to release the remaining hostages.
However the heads of 12 major aid groups said the humanitarian aid system in Gaza was "facing total collapse".
The war began on 7 October 2023 when Hamas carried out a cross-border attack on Israeli communities, killing around 1,200 people and seizing 251 hostages according to Israeli tallies.
Israel's military campaign against Hamas has killed at least 51,065 people, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry.

He that will not hear must feel.
"Release the hostages now, and we guarantee you free escape from Gaza and one week of time, and then will hunt you down all over the world for as many years as it takes, one by one, killing you like we hunted down and killed the terrorists form Munich. Release the hostages not, and we continue to kill you right now and right in place where you are."
Not difficult to comprehend. I wonder why they talk so much.

'Operational misunderstanding' led to killing of Gaza medics, IDF inquiry says
The Israeli military has said an "operational misunderstanding" led to the killing of 14 emergency workers in Gaza last month.
An inquiry into the incident by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) found a series of failings. It said the killing of a UN worker shortly afterwards was "a breach of orders during a combat setting".
It added that the deputy commander of the unit involved has been dismissed "for providing an incomplete and inaccurate report during the debrief".
Fourteen emergency workers and a UN worker were killed on 23 March after a convoy of Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ambulances, a UN car and a fire truck came under fire by the Israeli military.
In a statement, the IDF said its troops opened fire believing they were facing a threat from enemy forces.
The IDF said its investigation found six of the casualties were Hamas members, and rejected there had been summary executions.
It did not produce evidence for any affiliation to Hamas, despite the names of those killed being in the public domain.
The report said the incident took place in what it called a "hostile and dangerous combat zone", and that the commander on the ground perceived an immediate and tangible threat after vehicles approached rapidly.
It also blamed "poor night visibility", which the IDF said meant the commander did not identify the vehicles as ambulances.
Israel originally claimed troops opened fire because the convoy approached "suspiciously" in darkness without headlights or flashing lights. It said movement of the vehicles had not been previously co-ordinated or agreed with the army.
But it later said that account was "mistaken" after a video found on the mobile phone of a medic showed the vehicles with their lights on and their emergency signals flashing.
In the footage, which is more than five minutes long, the paramedic says his last prayers before the voices of Israeli soldiers can be heard approaching the vehicles.

International court appeals panel orders judges to reconsider Israel's jurisdiction challenge
Appeals judges at the International Criminal Court on Thursday ordered a pretrial panel to reconsider an Israeli appeal against the court's jurisdiction over Gaza and the West Bank.
The decision comes amid ongoing litigation into Israel's assertion that the court did not have the legal authority to issue arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant.
The warrants allege that Netanyahu and Gallant are responsible for crimes against humanity in the Gaza war. Israel, which is not a member of the court and rejects its jurisdiction, strongly refutes the allegations.
Judges at The Hague-based court dismissed a request from Israel to suspend the warrants.
But in a legal victory for Israel, appeals judges said in their written decision that the pretrial panel “committed an error of law by failing to sufficiently address Israel’s argument that it was entitled to make a jurisdictional challenge” under the court's founding treaty, the Rome Statute.
It ordered the pretrial judges to make a “new ruling on the substance of Israel’s challenge to the jurisdiction of the Court.” The challenge was filed in September — before the warrants were issued — and rejected two months later. It was not immediately clear how long judges will take to issue a new ruling.
In a statement on X, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said the arrest warrants were issued unlawfully and are “null and void.”
Israel has long argued that it does not have jurisdiction. The court, however, has accepted “The State of Palestine” as one of its 125 member nations.
"We said it from the start: The International Criminal Court in The Hague (ICC) doesn’t have, and never had, jurisdiction to issue arrest warrants against Israel’s Prime Minister and its former Minister of Defense. Israel is not a member of the ICC and is not party to the 'Rome Statute.'” Saar wrote.
The ICC prosecutor's office said in a written response that it was studying the decision and had no immediate comment.
When issuing the arrest warrants, judges said there was reason to believe Netanyahu and Gallant have used “starvation as a method of warfare” by restricting humanitarian aid and have intentionally targeted civilians in Israel’s campaign against Hamas in Gaza — charges Israeli officials deny.
Along with the warrants for the Israeli officials, the court also issued a warrant for Mohammed Deif, head of Hamas’ armed wing, over the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks that triggered Israel’s offensive in Gaza. It said it found reasonable grounds to believe Deif was involved in murder, rape, torture and the taking of hostages amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity. The warrant was withdrawn in February, after his death in an Israeli airstrike was confirmed.

US Reaper drone losses mount in Yemen as campaign against Houthis intensifies
The US has lost seven MQ-9 Reaper drones over Yemen in under six weeks, it has emerged, with three reportedly shot down in the past week as Washington escalates its military campaign against Iran-aligned Houthi rebels.
The high-altitude, long-endurance aircraft — each costing around $30 million (€26 million) — have been downed in a costly offensive launched by President Donald Trump on 15 March.
According to unnamed defence officials, the drones were involved in both strike and surveillance missions when they were shot down by the Houthis, with the losses occurring both over land and at sea.
According to one official, hostile fire is likely the cause, though investigations are ongoing.
The US has conducted near-daily airstrikes on Houthi positions, with Central Command confirming that over 800 targets have been hit, including command centres, weapons storage facilities and air defence systems.
“These strikes have… killed hundreds of Houthi fighters and numerous Houthi leaders,” said Central Command spokesperson Dave Eastburn on Thursday.
The attacks by the Houthis underscore their growing ability to strike advanced US platforms. One defence official confirmed that drone losses occurred on 31 March and on 3, 9, 13, 18, 19 and 22 April.
Civilian casualties raise alarm
Alongside the drone losses, concerns are growing in Washington over the civilian toll of the intensified US strikes.
In a letter to Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, Democratic senators Chris Van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren and Tim Kaine questioned whether the administration was “abandoning the measures necessary to meet its obligations to reducing civilian harm”.
“Civilian casualties actually undermine the mission that the military has been sent in to do,” the senators wrote, citing reports that recent strikes at the Ras Isa oil terminal may have killed more than 70 civilians.
Yet despite the increasing scrutiny of the offensive, the US military continues to maintain an aggressive posture in the region. A naval presence has been assembled, including two aircraft carriers, the USS Harry S. Truman and USS Carl Vinson, and their associated strike groups.
The Truman is currently operating in the Red Sea, while the Vinson is positioned in the Gulf of Aden. Defence Secretary Hegseth is reportedly considering extending the Truman's deployment further.
