The wait is over here is our first surface ship in U-BOOT_HAHD this one is the Ftetcher class destroyer of the US navy.

The measure 31 design 2c was apply to show what our advanced texturing technique will bring to the ship fleet.

Many parts also remodeled or modify just look at the video detail.

Even with the add on detail we gain 3 fps probably because i reduced the bow particle system amount by half instead of 1000 particles it is now 500 but my alpha mask take advantage of lower count so it is all good:up:

Video for team member will be upload shortly after on our website so the real fun can begin for you team mates:woot:

For some strange reasons i don't understand youtube is indicating that this video is block in Germany what a bunch of non sense all the song are from the public domain:down:
For shipmates living in Germany just use a proxy to access it or a free VPN client like hotspot shield.

Impressed....... You have blown me away !!!! It's fantastic, the radar and gunnery control centre is amazing, but not just the attention to the Fletcher, the bowspray is top notch, and did you do something to the smoke from the stacks? You guys rock mate:rock::rock::rock:

I would also like to add, hats off to you Hans for dedicating the Fletcher to our sorely missed shipmate Leovampire, a fine thought mate :yep:

I have been a long standing supporter, and have used your torp HAHD since day one. This along with your VII vids have blown the lid off SH3. Not wishing to sound like a.. erm... how is it the young kids say..... A 'Fanboiy' ? If I am one, I'm proud to be such !

Yes having trouble getting it to Integrate with the Sites MySQl database so as to use the site registration details.
Not sure why its not working, have the correct setting in alright but no go. :damn:

Had no luck Integrating it with the website.

Using a different chat client now.

To Access it you need to be registered on the site.
When you login, a shoutbox appears in the bottom right, there you can click on the full chatroom selection to open the chatpage.
Or else you can click on your Profile option at login and from there click on chat. :up:

Hi mate,

We will redo all ships yes but don't worry as soon as the typIIA interior is done and some final GUI touch here and there are done we will release the mod with the finish typIIA.

Not all ships will required heavy modeling sometime it is just a few enhancement here and there and what really stand out will be the way we texture them, we also don't want the mod to required only a millionaire system to run on so we will optimized every aspect we can.

Then we will be finishing the VIIC while you are playing your typIIA campaign and the same go on for each different subs etc.

All new content will be release as updates so you will always find something new in your campaign.

The team is just starting to get truly organized so expect major content to be release on a pretty regular base:up:

I think i will upload the video on my mediafire account so all country could have access to them but the only thing that bug me doing so is the upload time, a 700 mb video on mediafire would take almost a day:down:

I'm so tired of the greedy company's and their stupid copyright non sense the creative commons will kill these greedy bunch much sooner then they think.

For god sake we are not making any profit with those videos soon they will try to copyright the air we breed!

By the way reaper said he could make it play on our website so i think all of you will be able to see it this way.

Ok, redone the Video section of the website. Npow all youtube videos can be played from the Videos section.
Not only that this should bypass the restriction that German viewers are having with some of the videos.
Videos can be played at all available resolutions and in fullscreen :up:.

Chat section has been redone also - not as complicated or as busy looking as the previous version.
More simplistic in use so much better overall - also uses the members login from the site so username will be used if logged in ;).

ok Hans...i will show you and to all comrades the compasses (small and big one ) of the gui :

basic images for the compass are made by Hitman and reworked by me .notice the brown pointer (at big compass) ,this pointer is controlable by the player and is showing the relative to north bearings . at small compass this 'pointer' is the red triangle (but ,at small compass this pointer is not controlable by player,it is linked directly to scope's bearing for showing directly the relative to north bearings)

Hi team mates,

Very important i want all of you to do a virus and malware scan asap on your pc some morons are trying very hard to broke in our work and my friend programmer is currently tracking them and their activity he said they are behind a vpn and he contact the vpn, the owners of that vpn will send log to authority on demand so if they think they were safe they made a mistake.

So please to ensure the security of our project do a scan with avira it is free and also do another one with malware bytes it is also free.

And change all your passwords one more time if you were infected.

Also any zip or rar file upload, need to have a password even the one on the team private access.

If you send a file to a members use your gmail account and give him the password to open the zip or rar.

These guys will have to face the authority very soon.

Absolutely my friend SH3 is the classic that will become soon a legend in the video game history.

Even if any professionnal studio try to make a sub simulator like we all dreaming of they won't be able to have the budget to make all the assets and level of detail that we are putting in because we are not limited by money constraint and also we have something most artists in studio don't have! We have a passionate love for history and u-boot atlantic theater:up:

Unfortunately i think only reaper can fix that because i upload it via ftp and i had problem uploading it via our website file center it was stopping after awhile so there must be another setting that limit download just like the one that limit upload!

And now reaper is in bed so we will have to wait until tomorrow or find another way for sharing our files safely.

I think i find a pretty handy tool for your work i just upload it on our website in the file server in tutorial section it is a file renumber sequencer have a look at it:up:

The file name is 14aren here is the link page where he show how to renumber file in sequence : http://www.1-4a.com/rename/rename-examples.htm

You can also adjust starting value and the stepping value so it should do the job.

basic images for the compass are made by Hitman and reworked by me .notice the brown pointer (at big compass) ,this pointer is controlable by the player and is showing the relative to north bearings . at small compass this 'pointer' is the red triangle (but ,at small compass this pointer is not controlable by player,it is linked directly to scope's bearing for showing directly the relative to north bearings)

I've downloaded the Tutorial video (60mb) twice fully :D so thats good.
Before it would keep dropping at about 1mb :damn:.

Upload limit is set at 150MB, but not sure if that is achievable. Still unable to figure out the reason what is causing the dropout on downloading :06:.

EDIT: Set up a Test FTP Server on my Laptop (Initial Testing)

Access via the normal webpage in www.u-boot-hahd.com
Goto Members - File Centre.
Login with usual Details.

And again try to download the Tutorial from the Tutorials Folder :up:
I'll leave my laptop running for the night while you test.
Leave feedback here on the Forum - If its good I'll set up the Prog on my Server (Hope the connection is ok, Laptop is via wireless - but should be ok for test purpose) :D

Loading ok here :hmmm: Although my internet has been slow the few hours - I might need to reset my Router.

Give it another try - also you might clear your Internet cache in case thats the problem.
You might have the previous Filemanager in the cache and that could be causing a problem.

In php.ini search for this line “memory_limit = 8M”, replace the 8M with your desired value like 16M, 24M etc. Save the file and upload it to the server. Now you need to restart Apache for the changes to effect, this can be done through WHM, if you dont have WHM installed use these command
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart

Didn't see that before in any of the guides - Not sure how to get DreamHost to restart the Server - will look into it.
Its possible my changes never started :hmmm:



As for the File Center on the Website:- Working for me everytime I go into it.
Can you confirm that you still cant get a login box when you go into the Members - File Centre

Ok... I'm sweating here, I keep doing stupid mistakes - Was cleaning out the other FTP progs in case they were causing conflicts ----- and yup I uninstalled the FTP fro the web site (hence why you are timing out) :oops::oops::oops:.

Ok phew, I've reinstalled and set up the user accounts agian so this time It should be working.

Will check those links see if the sort it out. I'd prefer to have the files on the WebHost than my Server due to my slow bandwidth.

Everywhere I look it appears that PHP is just no good with large files (2MB is really the safe size for PHP)
Only way to get large files is via a FTP FIleserver. May be best to look at alternative hosts if mine proves to slow or not up to the job.

I don´t know if it´s free, but another possibility is the FTP used by Plissken (Maik´s site). There are a lot of SH3 mods here.

Well I got it working eventually, was up to 6.30AM working on it.
Worst part was I probably had it working for hours but was unable to see it working.
Found out you cant after a lot of searching you cant FTP from your own network into your router - so no way to verify that FTP is working except from an external network :damn: that caused me loads of problems.

It works - but now the bad news, as I feared my Internet is just to slow.
I can access the FTP ok and Download ok, but am only getting 40KB speeds from my IP Provider on the upload via FTP.

I'm looking at an alternative solution that looks promising www.dropbox.com

I think i find a pretty handy tool for your work i just upload it on our website in the file server in tutorial section it is a file renumber sequencer have a look at it:up:

The file name is 14aren here is the link page where he show how to renumber file in sequence : http://www.1-4a.com/rename/rename-examples.htm

You can also adjust starting value and the stepping value so it should do the job.

1. the labels at the pic are all in english becuase thats the languange that most understand . at the same time all the german labels are allready created. that will be a mini mod that will be enabled after the core files and will change ALL the english labels to german.
2. although these images for the tool's buttons are nice eye-candies(btw ,you can find way more nice and detailed images like these in TMO i think) ...they are 'eating' a lot of space of navmap . as one of the main purposes of the gui is to be 'handy' i choose (or prefer) the 'clear',as possible, navmap .


@Reaper : i wish good luck to your efforts mate !! the 'paying' option must be.... abandon and choosed only if it is the 'last' hope.i mean that there is no problem if download is slow ... and files will not be so much big . just thinking loud...

Well I got it working eventually, was up to 6.30AM working on it.
Worst part was I probably had it working for hours but was unable to see it working.
Found out you cant after a lot of searching you cant FTP from your own network into your router - so no way to verify that FTP is working except from an external network :damn: that caused me loads of problems.

It works - but now the bad news, as I feared my Internet is just to slow.
I can access the FTP ok and Download ok, but am only getting 40KB speeds from my IP Provider on the upload via FTP.

I'm looking at an alternative solution that looks promising www.dropbox.com (http://www.dropbox.com)

The french isp i talk about last night is completely free and give a great 10 GB of storage but like i say all thing get deleted after a file have no download activity for a month.

For the video tutorials it is a perfect temporary solution but for the assets and references it is a no go.

I saw the one you mention dropbox but be careful some of those services have no way to shared file securely most of them are public sharing.

I also heard of a way to shared file via microsoft live and this one is completely free,

I've set up an Account and set up the Website - Members - File Area for access to the Folders.
This is a very secure method for file sharing also, so that just what we need :up:.

Here in the good ole Ireland land of crap Broadband - the Best Provider I can get here is 3MB download 512kb Upload.

Ok i am starting to understand how drop box work i dont even have to upload the file just putting the file in my drop box folder do it automatically only one strange problem with this method upload speed is cut by half so i will have to read on their forum to understand why.

The second video is indicated as successful go check in your drop box folder if you have access to it and report back please.

Edit: Ok i found out why in drop box option we can set the bandwith to max but browsing internet is slow so a setting of 90% of your bandwith should be fine if you dont do heavy browsing.

By the way Reaper can you write a post to all our supporters and explain clearly how they can sign up on drop box to upgrade our storage space?

I just login with my current username and password but first you need to sign up on the drop box link and install the synch application and your folder will be automatically update with the new content upload by any team members:up:

It is working fine and i confirm that both videos tutorials are in DB foder and i download them to test and everything work perfectly fine:woot:

Also i need every team members to give me a notice when they have download the tutorial so i can deleted them and upload new one when my storage limit is reach.

But like i say the team will need to send me a notice that they already have the video tutorial and that they copy it on their hardrive because i will need to deleted them to have more storage to upload the rest.

The 2 latest videos are 220 MB each so at this rate the dropbox storage capacity will be reach in no time.

So for those who forgot to send me a notice that you have it then you will have to do without the video after i deleted it because i am not going to spend all my time uploading so i hope i am clear enough on this:salute:

Edit: Ijust send a friend of mine and we now have an extra 250 MB.

The fourth video will be upload shortly after tonight.

On a side note Webspace is now at 3.38GB due to a link I found (A nice extra 640MB)

Oops had a spelling mistake in the address. Will resend it now mate.



IMPORTANT: Also just of note to all members any change you make in the Shared folder (The U-Boot_HAHD Folder) happens to all users. So if you delete a file from the shared folder in your Documents Dropbox folder it also delets it from the webpage and everyone else's Documents Dropbox folder.
Although I can undelete them for up to 30 days.

So if you wish to edit files please copy them to another folder on your PC :up:


So best practice is after you receive a file copy it elsewhere, as it may be deleted further down the road ;)

I see that some of you guys are working in the drop box folder just like reaper mention earlier don't do nothing in that folder just copy the file you want on another location on your hard disk.

The file i am talking about is zip file that was decompress in the drop box folder so it is taking more space for nothing.

Also i saw that reaper is trying to make the file more friendly user by putting the decompress file but this way we loose the advantage of smaller file size.

So i recommend that you let the files in zip format and just copy it in another location on your hard disk thank for taking note of that:salute:

Because we are already at 29% of storage usage so zip should stay zip to take less space.

Your Kompass center are done i upload them under Graphic\GUI\Kompass_center.zip :salute:

You have 2 versions to choose from, one is a perpective render and the other one is from a orthogonal front view just pick the one you like the most:up:

I always included the alpha in those renders so just select the kompass center via alpha channel in your paint program.

You can use that on your own account by logging into your Dropbox and going to https://www.dropbox.com/edu.

That way you can send out your own referrals to grow your dropbox too.

I have 2 rigs here with a hotmail acct also my isps email acct. Do you think it's possible to reg at dropbox using the 2 seperate emails, so long as I reg one from each rig? Sorry for the convoluted question, just trying my best to give the team more space :up:

Hmmm, only received the credit for one of them. Strange cause I just did the came here on 2 machines and 2 accounts and received the credit for both.

Maybe you could PM me the mails you registered them with, There an otion to claim storage if not received.
Worked with 2 other accounts that did not automatically give us the free storage.

The next one will be covering the UVW unwrap process will probably have 2 video and maybe 3 just on that because it is the most important part of our workflow.

You can use that on your own account by logging into your Dropbox and going to https://www.dropbox.com/edu.

That way you can send out your own referrals to grow your dropbox too.

Try it now mate, I cant delete it permanetly as it was uploaded by makman.
He would need to delete it from the recycle bin in that folder in dropbox if it still causes an issue. :-?

Like reaper mention earlier the recent videos have a lower volume level then the first release this is my mistake i forgot to adjust my sound volume before recording, but the audio level is more then sufficient to ear them correctly if you simply crank your volume for these ones.

Later on i will remaster only the voice part to fix that light issue but for now i can listen to them without problem when cranking my volume to maximum.

The next videos release will have the volume fix:salute:

By the way sorry for that Makman but i deleted your preview GUI.rar that was causing an issue on my synch it was block an i was not able to drop my files in folder. So just re upload it with correct permission setting i took the liberty of doing so because i knew the file was light in size and that we have an undeleted feature:up:

Not really, Kind of got around it though by opening it up in VLC Player (Audio Only no Video :wah:) and also in Google Chrome for the video.
Then played the audio using VLC to increase the audio to 200% and started the video in Chrome.
Then I had to pause the audio and start it when in sync :har:

Not the best method but it worked, couldn't find an app that would allow me to remaster the volume gain for a swf file.
Found a demo SWF Video/Audio converter that worked but it was limited to 5mins only.

No need to fix it mate you got plenty of other things to do :up:
Anyway I was watching it on my laptop with crap speakers.

Next time I'll hook it to my AMP, up to 1200W of 7.1 TrueHD power to hear it good :haha:

Unless its an issue with any one else hearing it, I would't bother fixing it.

Hi mate and welcome to the thread :up:

SH3 is not to different to SH4 Main difference is that SH4 Introduced scaling to the Menu System so resolution greater than 1024x768 are supported.

So if your used to working with S3D it would take no time to get used to SH3 ;)
Once we get up and running properly I'm sure Hans would more than welcome some more hands on deck :up:

Also i found that i don't have to re master the audio track at all because there is an option to raised the sound level and it work marvelously well.

The only draw back is that i have to re upload them but if teams members can give me feedback on the sound level of the last 3 videos i won't re up them now.

Sure it is but one thing is bugging me is when new team members will come we will have to re upload them and that is a waste of time because some upload take an hour to completed:down:

And my time is more useful on modeling and other stuff.

Will find a way around i am convinced:up:

Edit: I just calculate the size of all videos and i get 1.6 GB so what is taking 50% of storage space if we have 10 GB something is wrong here?

Btw, I saw on the HAHD site you can register there for a log in, but I assume that's only for team members right? And I don't know if I'm the only one, but I can't watch the vids on the site anymore. They're not clickable (tried with different browsers, so that's not the problem). Not a big deal for me, since I can also watch them on Youtube, but I thought you might want to know.

Thank for the info for the videos link but i just try them to verify and all seem good on my side maybe only the applet for the player on your browser was stuck on a loop just restart your browser and all should be good:up:

Other possibility is that you try to click on them and reaper was making change or test on page.

For sure you can undeleted the file but never forgot to do regular backup on your recent work.

Dropbox is showing 13.3% used (1.7GB of 12.38GB) for me.

I think its because the Main Dropbox that the supporters join is getting the free space, where as your dropbox has not got the extra space so still at 2.25GB :hmmm:

One reason this policy exists is to prevent people from giving themselves unlimited space by stacking free accounts with shared folders. In the future, we hope to add a feature where a finite number of Dropbox accounts can share a single group Dropbox. We also have some exciting sharing features being developed that will address some of the shared quota restrictions.

We will need to get some supporters to join the dropbox's of each Team Member - Thankfully I've been told a method how to achieve this -though its not straight forward.

Now What I need if possible is for all Team Members to link an Educational Email to there DropBox account - Use anybody's eg a friend, son/daughters cousins etc. Link it to your account here: https://www.dropbox.com/edu
As long as they don't use dropbox you can activate there email to your account. This will give you 500MB per referral instead of 250MB.

I just read my mail and your option sound really good to me after all it is pretty hard to beat a nice 50 GB drop box.

Reaper told me he setup a new FTP so now it will be the one that has the fastest upload speed that will win the race.

On drop box i was able to upload at maximum of my dsl line 81.74.

We are using the DropBox of the team. I make a shared folder from my account; I think that folder can be used for storage of files of all the team.

But - as I don´t understand at full the working of DropBox - I´m not sure about if this shared folder is accesible from all the team.

By the way: I like the Kaleun Smiley. I think the next project of UBH team will be an animation movie - "Boot Story" - , in association with Pixar...:woot::woot::woot:

Ok the situation is We are keeping the DropBox as the Main sharing mechanism.
I really like the way it works regarding team sharing, and also to share with our supporters.

As it stands the way dropbox works, If you join a share - what erver contents are in that share count towards your space limit.

How that applies to us is:

I have setup the Main Accounts (Including the sub-supporters Folder) that is shared with all the members.
Now at the moment that dropbox has 10.7% used (1.7GB of 15.38GB).
The potential full amount of free space I can accumulate for that Dropbox is 18GB.

Now here is where it gets tricky - And the reason I sent the Tutorial to all our Team Members.
As all team members share the Main Folder - where all our tutorials etc are stored, whatever amount of space is used by the Main folder is counted towards the members dropbox.
So if the Member has only 2.25GB (Default Join amount) and the Main Dropbox has 18GB of filled storage - Then that member can only receive 2.5GB out of 18GB before the Members Dropbox is filled.

That is why its Important to get all Members up to 18GB of Free Storage space. (Its way to costly to run it at Premium costs)
So all members need to get Educational Emails linked to there Account just like Hans and Myself did.
After which we need to get all accounts maxed out by referrals :03: etc.



Also as Hans stated Earlier I mentioned to him I have set up an Hosted FTP Access Folder with my Web Domain.
This can be accessed via any FTP program (e.g. FlashFXP), Now while this could be used to allow uploads/downloads it no way near as user friendly.

How I intend this to be used for the Team is as a Backup File Host. Therefore large item like Tutorials can be moved if needed - while still being able to be accessed by members to download via FTP if needed. :up:
This will take away some of the Burden on Hans having to reupload large Items etc constantly.
(I know your pain Hans - I only get 40kb upload :()


So once more its Important that Members follow the Tutorial I mailed out yesterday ;).
