Welcome aboard Swimmer :salute:

you can leave NewUIs to overwrite the conflicting files. Real Environment is probably affecting boat's pich, roll and general buoancy parameters located in those files, but you can discard its tweaks without major adverse consequences. :yep:

Can I ask people who use this mod if they notice any problems with seatype 0 at 0 meters per second in the campaign. I found it to load ok now and again, but coming out of time compression from another seatype to this one would result in light reflections on top of water being gone and a bad reflection and refraction effect on the water near sub. This happened repeatedly and I also occasionally got cloud deformations, CTDs other graphics / shader related artifacts. I dont have any other env mods installed. After some testing, I managed to remove this problem by swapping in the stock seaparameters.cfg. This seems to fix it.

This could all be just me, my PC and graphics memory or something but I was abit concerned by some of zero values at the top of seatype0

Specifically whether it could be one of these that is screwing around with the shader as the game does a quick re-render coming out of time compression. I looked and no other seatypes have 0 for these values in this mod, or stock... and they all seem fine. Maybe not this, but trying to track it down.

P.S

I also managed to integrate "KZS Hull wetness for U-Boats + co tower and deck_revised_by_TheDarkWraith" mod into Real Env. I intially thought this was the cause of the seastate bug I was getting but i tested with and without wetness integrated and it still occured... so wetness seems ok. Just W_clear's sub7xxx etc.val files required the hullwaterfilm controller on the sub hulls and decks etc. I have altered them and uploaded a zip to here:

To use them download KZS hull wetness mod and copy above data folder over the one in the KZS mod, this will overwrite the sub.vals to new ones with the water file, but they also have all the new particle generators added by Real Env. Conning towers and the granny shader are in the KZS mod and should be installed normally.

P.P.S, this mod by W_clear is great, it looks fantastic!

I'm new to SH5 and I was wondering. Does this mod replace the Dynamic Environment SH5 v 2.9 mod?

I basically copied a list I saw in one of the mods for beginners but I'm not happy with the visibility at night.

I know for some realism that night time in the middle of the ocean is dark. But this is ridiculous, my crew spots other ships but I can't even see them even at around 1500m. (clear weather)

Maybe someone can help me setup a stable and updated simple mod list and we could post it on the forum?

Yep that's where I took a "balanced" mod list from.

Just figured the discussion about real environment vs dyn enviro. was outdated. I also read in the change-log on another thread that they took away brighter-nights. I think its something like that, that I was hoping to get in real environment mod.

I'll post a screeny of my night view when I get a chance.

I must say that I think this mod most accurately models the froth of white caps out of all the environmental mods I have used. Thanks for this mod.

I'm liking this mod a lot, but I have one question - is it a known bug that weather resets every time you reload a savegame? For example, I can reload the same savegame ten times and each time the weather will be different (fog, no fog, rainy, stormy etc.) That's the only annoying thing that I found about this mod.

Yes it is, but not of this mod. It is a stock bug which would require the tweaking of game code for being fixed. :yep:

If you use the moon light mod then you pray for medium fog at night especially sneaking on the surface into harbors etc . Sobers medium fog has a sight distance of about 10 kilometres during the day .

Hm,Heavy fog? I don't know...But medium fog is such a pain in the asss, especially after reload. Call me a cheater but recently I shifted settings for medium and light fog, so it's not "excessive medium fog" bug anymore ...It's "excessive light fog" bug...:D

Hi Vdr, just finished the Special P mission and got back to base to ressuply, now im going back to finish british coastal waters but when i requested the mission it is giving me the same patrol grid An7953 that i got in my first patrol, is this normal? Shouldnt they give me another patrol grid?

You are still in the mission you are trying to request.

It's completely random...If you reload your bunker save and request mission one more time there's big chance that you'll actually get other mission /patrol grid...

yep thank you, I understand the only solution is to hide my ip address, but anyway my problem is really strange.... I tried today several times, I cleaned my pc from cookies and temporary files ecc... I tried with different browser such as Chrome, Firefox IE... but nothing, same result "page not found".

I will try your suggestion to find a solution to hide my ip.

I decided to try the Climate Zone mod out, and didn't pay enough attention that the mod was named "换海域".

This mod re-wrote some of my other mods files, and now I have to disable 换海域 in order to get a clean JSGME again.

Unfortunately, JSGME reads 换海域 as '???'...

So when it recommends me to disable the top layer mod, it refers to it as '???' and not "换海域".

Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

EDIT: Basically what I'm asking, is how do I create a clean JSGME, when I have a mod that refuses to be removed?

Hi guys, this mod looks great but I have a small issue.

I'm running this one with wolves of steel 1.05 patch 15. After installing the mods and properly installing TDW_1_0_168 I get the weird issue that my boat isnt able to dive properly (bow keeps floating up no matter what I do with the planes). Also the rudder doesnt seem right as the harbor pilot steers me into the walls at Willemshaven. Seems to be related to the fact that this mod is designed for (1st post) Depth_Keeping_Problem_UHS_patch_HB_1_0_0_TheDarkWr aith.

That, or an issue with TDW. Nevertheless, I'm not sure if: 1). The depth keeping problem mod is already part of wolves of steel patch 15. 2). Where to find this mod if it will resolve the issue.

Anyone with similar experiences who might be able to help me out?

At full speed and flank speed I a, having a heavy bow wake on top of the uboat right in front of the deck gun. Has anyone experienced this? Everything looks good except the massive "water spike" om top. Is this something with my 970? W_Clear, great job by the way, beautiful mod.

Thanks guys, it turned out to be a faulty save game-set from port to within the patrol, all is fine now except the special.txt/cfg file needs to be removed again before loading a savegame in order to stop it from skipping dates.

Nevertheless, this mod is totally worth the trouble.. what a beauty!

I'm starting right out of the bunker and almost immediately the water starts to glitch, everything goes dark to the point I can barely see my sub. Not sure what is going on. Any suggestions?

You don‘t install the entire MOD, only the "Submarine" folder. You are wrong. Because there is no submarine 【Splash】 and realistic 【wake】。So "Submarine" folder. is sure to install it。

it'll still work - I did the same and ran it fine.

Its just that it will replace the other weather / water effect and transparency mods that ARE in TWoS already.

Hi, I'm flightsimmer :). I've been playing Silent Hunter 5 on and off now for a few years and I want to get back in again, I've been using other mods for awhile however this time I want to use this environment mod as well because it looks too beautiful.

I've installed the mods as ordered by sobers mod list so I thought there wouldn't be any issues. However this one is annoying me quite a bit: when diving the bow planes of the sub keeps pointing upwards, and stays stuck. I noticed a couple pages back someone had this problem too, but I'm not clear how he fixed it.

I also patched using TDW GenericPatcher.

I've managed to isolate the mods and it's a conflict between NewUIs_TDC and Environment 15 MOD. The odd thing is it seems no one is complaining about the bow planes when using sobers mega mod, it's the same order as above but I just skipped the others. Also note I do not have Wolves of Steel.

Any suggestions? I'd love to use this mod but in the meantime I'll have to disable it while this one gets figured out. :hmmm:

EDIT: Okay, so apparently it's not even conflicting with NewUIs_TDC at all! I enabled ONLY Environment Mod 15 and I still get the same problem! This means one of the patches from the GenericPatcher is incompatible with this mod. Time to test each one by one :wah:

EDIT 2: I got it all wrong... This is a standalone problem. I only enabled the environment mod with no other patches/mods, started a new campaign and the sub's bow sticks up. Without the mod, this does not happen. TwanV says it's a game save problem, I think he's right because the save from without the mod works with the mod activated. Missing the depth keeping problem mod by TDW shouldn't be the cause either, apparently NewUIs_TDC already has it so now I'm stuck.

Whether this where your problem is I do not know, but might make a difference as the dive planes are controlled from the NewUi interface?

I have the same problem after enable this mod in JSGME, but later I found the simple solution:

- Disable the Environment 15 Mod in JSGME
- Browse to Environment 15 Mod\data\Submarine\NSS_Uboatxxx folder then delete each NSS_Uboatxxx.sim file within NSS_Uboatxxx folder.
- Enable the Environment 15 Mod again in JSGME
- All good.

Seems like that NSS_Uboatxxx.sim file in unit_submarine setting broken and make the sub bow keeps pointing upwards. And voila TWoS compatible :03:

I believe in Sober mod soup, there is other mods that enabled after the Environment 15 Mod and overwrite the data\Submarine\NSS_Uboatxxx\NSS-Uboatxxx.sim file.

The other way is enable this "Stoianm pitch&roll + Real Battery Lifetime + U-boats.cfgs (edited+modified for engine ratio patches) Mod" after "Environment 15 Mod" so the NS_Uboatxxx.sim file been overwrited by "Stoianm pitch&roll + Real Battery Lifetime + U-boats.cfgs (edited+modified for engine ratio patches) Mod" NSS_Uboatxxx.sim file, and we don't have to delete anything.

Nice yellow letters....I see very well your post.

Did you try Env 15 with TWoS 2.09? For example, I think, you need to delete the sh.sdl file from Env 15 and conserve the file from TWoS. Also, see what files overwrites Env 15 of TWoS with JSGME and think what could be the possible conflict. First of all, the AI from TWoS is calibrated with his own enviro, so this could be a problem

I didn´t try it, so take my comments only as a sugerence. :up:

I thought the SH5 graphics could not be made any better, but now it's bloody LIVE!!!
I even can say now, some water textures in the original SH5 looked somewhat artificial anl "cartoon-like" compared to your work.

Well, honorable sirs, in spite of all stunning beauty of this environmental mod 15, there's something mighty messed up with depth navigation.

Using the manual control of dive planes just added A HELL to the harassment, for some numerical correction has been always necessary. Say, you want to go from the deck awash depth to periscope depth of 14 m, so you had to set the dive planes as if you would like to go to 18 m. And the bow would be pitched up dramatically whatever you do and the view from the scopes camera would be always inclined and sputtered.:k_confused:

Deleting the *.sim files did no changes, - I'm happy that it solved the problem for sir Kapten Nemo, but not im my built.

But still HELLUVA THANKS to KAPTEN NEMO for the hint: :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:
in the end I cleanswept aside entirely EVERYTHING related to SUBMARINE in this mod, the Library folder and the Submarine folder, that is.

Now everything is both beautiful and controllable, :Kaleun_Salute:
BUT:

can sir W_Clear or any else good man please be so kind to explain WHAT of SOME USE was in those files
EUF_Submarine_FX.dat and particles.dat (the Library folder)

The best way to understand how the dive planes work is in the control room watching the dials and see how they are used in automatic by the crew.
Using different diving and surfacing levels you can then put this into using manual dive planes where you need to always watch the dials so you can trim the boat.
In sobers mega mod you have to watch all the dials to see what is happening.

By the way, my German translation for the interface of the so-called "Fun edition" of the SH5 is done. I'e got "only" to translate the mission and, curse it, radio messages texts.

But at least it's now mor or less logical that the Gerries curse in German and the logs are in German. Not that I'm a Nazi, quite the contrary, but Gerries cursing and dialogueing in English was totally weird to me.

I have pointed out on several occasions to problems regarding this mod so I'm starting to sound like a broken record at this point...This will be my last detailed post about this subject.

I'm not really sure what do you guys assume by word "compatible" but you should know that Env 15 mod, in addition of some cool looking graphics, will also:
- Destroy submarine smoke exhaust effect
- Add back idiotic stock halo around interactive crew embers and objects
- Significantly reduce game performances and stability.

There is probably more but this is what I got in my 30 minutes testing of this mod in combination with latest TWoS.

The most important thing is that this mod will also cause CTD in my "stress tests", which means that it will mess up some of the hardly achieved stability fixes for CTD problems which were torturing SH5 community for so long. This is the biggest problem involved around this mod which is very unfortunate IMO...

In the end, I really don't want to decide for you guys which mod will you use or not, but you should be aware of consequences.

To cut long story short...Is Enviromental ** MOD compatible with latest TWoS? No, in my opinion it is not, due to previously stated reasons...

I will test this mod in my modlist and install it after TDW NewUIs and OH2, taking out the Menu folder, sh.sdl file in the sound folder to not interfere with DBSM or other sound mods.
The Submarine and Sea folder are problematic: they could interfere with good torpedo handling set by TDW in this FX mod and break other important mods that correct game bugs, or: the files just get overwritten by them...


This will likely be a very nice mod for a personal modlist if you install it selectively, but all this is surely not compatible with TWoS and will break it, unless you purge WoS from all the DynEnv files first and make a minimal install, keeping only what really changes sea and weather, and not interfere with submarine type files, ship type files, or other sim files :hmmm:


Nice waves, weather and sea effects are very good, but the game must still be playable with my main mods...Let's see...

I do not recommend using this mod. It will inevitably lead your game to CTD.
Unreadable characters are present in environment color configuration files. The game engine tries to read them and this leads to a global error.
