Thanks so much ZeeWolf! Could you direct how the JSGME needs to be set up to activate your mod? I tried putting it up one level higher as discussed on the previous page in this thread but I'm getting a critical script error when trying to launch the game with the mods enabled. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Merry Christmas and thanks for your hard work!

Thank you, gave it a try but the frame rates were really terrible, 14FPS..it suffers the same fate as the original game did for me, as soon as a lot starts to happen the frame rate takes a pounding. The devs needed to look at optimising the game { seems most russian software suffers from the same faults } but alas, are now defunct. Every other game I run goes fine on my system ( a duo core at 3ghz { a bit slow now right enough } 4 Gb ddr2 ram and a gforce 260 GTX OC with 1.8gb onboard memory)
Got to say it looked amazing though, great work Zeewolf.

You've now got me waiting with great anticipation for the rest of your work; I can't wait for you to release the rest of your Mods. Great work with this :DL
One question, what files can we mod to make a winter Landscape?? Or is this possible??

Thanks for the advice but Ive been there and done that, makes absolutely no difference to the framerate, the basic problem is the code, start adding AI and the frame rate falls off . I get a steady 60fps in MP mode with all bells and whistles...add the ai and it all goes tits up. Standard game runs at just over 30fps and unfortunately, when you add all the extras stuff from yourself..the backside falls out the framerate. Most russian software is the same, they don't seem to worry about optimising at all, the only folks who have done were Oleg and Neoqb.

I played your Tigers Shek Kurtenski ZantaW and Wo w it's a tough nut! It took me three tries before I was able to succesfully complete it. I finally finished it spending my literally my last shell to take out a Soviet AT gun.The last one I had to machine gun the crew and crush the gun with my Tiger. My final score : 14 tanks, 9 firepoints, 2 halftracks, 2 trucks and 8 ifantry. My poor Tiger had 18 points of impact from T34 and AT shells .Compared to the original Kurtenski mission this one you finish with barely your underwear on!
Outstanding work ZantaW.One year well spent! If there were Academy Awards for modders you'd be my nominee!
You have improved the game in many respect: infantry behaviour, AI behaviour , made it more immersive and with the new vehicles there is more eye candy as well.
Now just a few remarks constructive criticism that you can use to refine your future releases not to belittle your work nbut to give you useful feedback:
1) the movement of tanks: They just move too fast and in ballet like motion.ATiger zipped by me like it was a Porsche 911 turbo! The T34 were whirling about like they were dancing the rumba or a samba! They were agile but not that agile in real life. The Tigers while not as lumbering as sometimes described were not ballerina dancers either. This needs to be adjusted.
2) there s room for improvement with AI as well.Much improved over the original nevertheless I saw a Tiger tank -in your new Soviet mission - facing me reactioneless while I took him out with 3 shots without him even shooting at me although my first shot barely scratched him.Another tank gave me his rump while fighting me allowing me to destroy him.At the end of the Kurtenski mission the last Soviet AT crew stood by without shooting at me while I destroyed their fellow guns and tanks while facing me .I took them out calmly with my mg since I was out fo shells and simply crushed their gun with my Tiger.Again, lack of realistic reaction.
3) I also experienced choppiness and low FPS during the game but that can be ascribed to your game being more demanding on a pc.Lowering the details and specs can probably help. Because whrn playing nthe original missions it was very fluid.Your mod has chnaged details in the original m remaining missions which is nice.
4) the ballistic and particle effects need to be refined. When I shoot a 88 HE shell on the ground you barely see a little plop on the ground which seems underdone to me.Also when you hit a tank you don't see it shake or shudder under the impact.Steel Fury which is TvT main rival does it much better in both areas
On the other hand I like your nice personal touch; seeing the tanks paint peel off and turn white( I suppose due to the heat of the impact) when hit.
That being said Superb work ZantaW.Thanks for the wonderful gift and looking forward to purchasing your future Kursk mod.
Regards
One last comment Zanta to improve the immersiveness of the game; the tanks are just too silent. You don' t hear the characteristic squeaking of the German tanks or even the distinct clicking sound of the Soviet ones.Again if you play or have played games like Panzer Elite or Steel Fury you" ll know what I am talking about.Adding nthe rumble of artillery, gun shots and men shouting and crying would add ambiance as well.
Cheers

Thank you very much frinik,
I truly welcome your compliments as well as your constructive criticism.
For your concise point by point assessment is as always very well thought
through.
I appreciate your sincere interest in this Sim and it's new found success.
1.) The speed and movement issue is one area has room for new coding that
can help tremendously. I left out a great deal of my tweaks and changes
I made to tier scripts, although definitely not complete it's encouraging.
As for the units zipping by like a 911, that is a physical reality when
looking through magnification optics.
Press the F6 key then the keyboard + or - and you will see an over all
view and may change your opinion.
2.) Yes I agree and improvement there will be.
3.)The FPS can be address some what. But their is a resistance by a
percentage of players to the notion this can be minimized.
I have been considering a why to deal more effectively in this area.
Knowing that the limits lie with the dependence on MicroSoft DX libraries
and video card Mfg. dedication to them that makes this hard but not
impossible. A new exe programed to except add dlls could be a reality.
4.) I left out my work in this release. So please be encouraged here.
Details my be more distant in the future but they to can be inproved.
Best Regards

I think this can be a reality with an ambient sound file looped by the music
player. Just a thought though.

However I have to agree with Frinik-movement of tanks is strange-especially spinning in one place and not attacking or shooting the targets-at least in first Soviet mission.

Hello and Thanks Fritz for the compliment.
As far as the tank behavior I agree that is why I re-worked the tank behavior scripts but left them out of this release.
But will be available upon the next big release. By that time I will have my new web site up and good to go.

Greetings ZiegWolf - SpielFuehrer and ZantaWolf and the portend of great battles to come - ( I' ll dispense with your other titles because I don't want to sound too formal :D). I hope you are happy and excited by the response your new mods had. I think it was a resounding success.
I hope too our comments and observations did not sound like the bitchings of spoiled and ungrateful brats to you? Because they were not mean't to be that way rather as feedback to help you address future or recurring problems which plagued the original game and condemned it to oblivion until you decided to take it into your capable hands.
Much has been done but your most important achievement in my mind is that you proved the pessimists and defeatists wrong when they said the game could not be modded, the editor was bankrupt, the developers had washed their hands with it or the game editor was too complicated and impossible to use and let's just forget about it.Did you ever show them that where there's a will there's a way.And this - more than any future big release or future spectacular new mods - is your crowning achievement!
That being said the games original flaws; passive not too say dumb AI, dancing tanks, enemy have been addressed to a point but still remain. One in particular enemy tank with X ray eyes spotting you through hundred metres of thick wood and taking you out without you beeing able to fight back!It happened twice to me during the Tigers shake kurtenki mission when I tried to cross the wooded hills to outflank them and attack their rear guard.
Cheers to you and kudos!

Well frinik I don't even know where to begin. I guess the first thing to say
is I was feeling the heat a little when the JSGME posed a challenge but I never expected the tech support would be easy. After all, I was one of those guys who felt burned by Lighthouse in their shameful treatment of the original buyers of this game. There was no way I was going to let that happen again. As for the comments and observations, I needed to know these issues and in that process guys can get a little pushy. But that's just a part and must be endured to finish well. :know:
As for the pessimists and defeatists, they are the ones that can get bitchy and brat like. That is if they refuse to bow the head and bend at the knee, so to speak. :har:
The crowning achievement I hope to receive truly is the many new friends I can make. And with the hope my work will inspire others to see in a totally new light what is was like (in a small way) to have fought in such an enormous struggle.
ZeeWolf
ZW; am I reading you right? Are you planning to redo the other existing missions?
BTW, how many tanks & vehicles did you incorporate in your 2 new missions? I counted 27 for both sides in the Kurtenki mission and 17 for the Krinovichi one?

Yes I am. If I receive enough financial support I want to work at this full time. My plan is to take this sim as far as it can possibly go. As far the numbers :hmmm:
ZeeWolf
If you need financial support ZW why don' t you offer the following; you ask us to contribute say $ 30.00 which gives us the right to get all the other 10 missions that need to be redone. $ 50.00 buys you the right to those 10 mods and the Kursk super mod release. We pay you online and then once your mods are ready you post the download link through a PM to those who are ZW members so-to-speak.This gives you fresh cash and still allows you to release your mods independantly at higher prices on steam or online to others who don't want to pay upfront.

If you need capital to continue the fight, let us know. Paypal works wonders, and all you need is a list of who and how much. I paid 45 georges for this game, unfinished and locking up. Half more (in the range of say...$20 to 25 smackers) should do it. Per person per download or comming thru a CD would be fair.
Just suggesting, as I was thinking of the old Red Baron II and the Promised land Super patch "Full Canvas Jacket" that was done like that. And even early Beta testers (like Us) could put out a little scratch to keep 'em comming.
Just sayin.............
Zeewolf
I for one agree completely with frinik's plan. I would be happy to contribute $50 in advance to be able to download your new missions and the Kursk add-on when it becomes available. Call it a pre-order. Paypal works fine for me. Your Christmas present really gives one an idea of how good this sim could be with some mods
One thing I love about this sim; sometimes when you get a good hit on an enemy tank, at first all it does is smoke a bit, then in a few moments it will burst into flame and go up like a torch. Looks very realistic. It's a shame with all the great things the developers did with this sim they never finished it or supported it at all.
Sincerely
Edward

it's never been easier to spend 50 bucks. Frankly, the time spent learning how to write all this and then going ahead and making something huge out of it is well worth it. Since it's a niche thing 50 is well within the price range.

I am glad to see that my idea seems to be agreable to most.ZW if you ever need an agent - you know like those famous movie stars or singers - you know who to call right?:sunny:My cut will be modest; a T34 here and a Panzer IV there...
ZW, on a more serious note I clicked on your link to make my contribution but it says the site is under construction. Before I pay I want to make sure the money is not going to a great void .My question is can we use that site to pay you the amount chosen either $ 30 or $ 50? Are you cool with the amounts proposed or are you still pondering it? I am just waiting for your instructions/reply to pay up!

Well, to tell you the truth this is all new to me but a credit card is the only way to use PayPal from my site. I know that the payment is completely risk free if you use a credit card. You see it takes a few days for the money to be applied, therefore you know the bank is doing all the checking necessary to make sure the credit card used is not stolen. As for horror stories I have no experience with that so far. I wold say just use a credit card it's by far the safest for you. And then I will know who you are and would feel better about sharing more about me like where I live and my name and that sort of thing.

Happy New year to you to Frinik,
My plan is to add the Kursk map as a separate custom map package
that will leave default single missions intact. This will be the
bases for a much greater ability to expand the single missions
and allow the retaining of missions that guys have moded for them
selves to be untouched by the new releases. As well as all new
future release.
I currently have two mega maps, of course the kusk map that
covers diagonally from Belgorod in the bottom right corner to a
few miles outside of Oboyan in the top left corner.
This map has been created using Digital Elevation Modules or DEM
files for short and will have the area that will easily fit many new
and unique missions on.
And I will update you on as I progress with the project.
I fully intend to expand the missions capacity capabilities and open
as wide as I can the ability to incorporate deferent phases of the war
so as to enable eventually the ability to command a tank from 1939
to 1945 in the form of new mission packs and vehicle additions and
the kind of things that tankers would really appreciate and enjoy.
As you may be already aware I play this sim and have a interest in
WW2 since I was a small boy. And I am convinced this sim is a dream
come true.
ZW
Your enterprise is breathtaking in scope and hard-work especially since you plan on enlarging the focus of the game from what started as a Soviet campaign to one that will eventually incorporate the Western fronts and perhaps North Africa as well!
Well we - your fans - will be following very closely your every step and may 2010 be the year that you can finally devote yourself entirely to your passion and make a decent living out of it! The best of both worlds.
Cheers and Godspeed!
Hi Guys!
One thing struck me; it s the proliferation of threads and questions about T vs T that are directed - directly or indirectly - to ZW.Let s remember that he is a one-man army and if we take too much of his time answering or addressing our questions/complaints/technical issues which are not necessarily related to his mods. I believe we should try not to overwhelm him because the more time he spends addressing every little problem will be time taken away from his current work and future mods and releases and will wear him down. Let s try as much as possible to read existing threads to see if our problems have not already been addressed and solved or trying to fix our problems by oursleves as much as possible. A sort of informal code of conduct if you will. And that goes for me as well:oops:
What do you think?

ZW, I thought you should know. I guess stimulated by your mods - which have rekindled my interest in T vs T( I hadn't played it for over 6 months) I started replaying all the individual missions this weekend. I was playing in particular the Soviet missions and thanks to your modding the missions are much tougher now.The PZIVs and the Stugs are no longer the walkover that they were in the original game and they actually shoot and kill a lot of T34s. I was able to compare since I have 2 versions on the game, one unmodded. The last mission: Repikhovo's Last Stand in particular has become a T34s graveyard.I was unable to complete it in 4 attempts as all including my tank would get killed before being able to reach the German HQ.In the other missions, both German and Soviet the going gets much tougher for the Sovs and easier for the German. In the 3rd German mission too the AT guns and the support Pz IV tanks survive and take out much of the T34s.This is a definite improvement and I guess all of us are eager to see how you will mod those missions.
Cheers

Yeah, I played the "Beskudnikova" (or whatever it's called, mission2) today with ZeeWolf's mod. I turned off "unlimited damage" and "unlimited ammo" cheats, and I finished the mission without being hit even once!!
Admittedly I did set the enemy accuracy to lowest, but even so, I was quite proud because that setting never made any difference before :D.
This mod makes a real difference and is much more fun to play!
ZW, in one of your early threads you mentioned something about a big battle with up to 90 T34s pitted against a number of German tanks including stugs and others. Is this part of your upcoming Kursk super mod release? How would it fit with your remodding of the existing T vs T34 missions?

The 90 T34s were an experiment for Hitmans interest. He asked about the number of tanks so I just wanted to show it could handle it on my machine.
My system was Intel E6750 2.6Ghz running on Windows 2000 Pro with a MSI 8600GT Twinturbo. But now I have WinXP.
I have no plans of replacing the Default missions with the Kursk Addon. The Kursk Addon will be seperated like the online missions are.
Oh! I forgot to say that the 90 T34s were on the Deniper River map a few km east of the river.

Yes, you are right.
The "christmas gift" update is free, and it fixes many problems.
The full blown mod will cost you a $50us donation (if you do it before the end of Jan).
Considering the improvements that the "christmas gift" introduced, I firmly believe it is easily going to be worth the money (if you can afford it that is).

then it's highly unlikely i'll be able to get it
Sharkbait; I think It's a good investment.Think of it as buying a new game. This is what you would probably pay. Or filling your tank( I am not sure what the price of gasoline is in the US or wherever you live) which will last you just a few weeks. This game has the potential to offer gameplay for years.
This game will offer numerous improvements and is open to modders which means it could easily become another Panzer Elite or Steel Fury or Steel Beast( if you play modern tanks). There's a potential for lots of new SP missions and tanks. Finally, it's got Multi player potential( I don't play MP) and ZW has given green light to Monkwarrior and others to use his improvements to the game in order to create a better MP.
There are no new tank sims on the horizon( although Graviteam - the creators of Steel Fury - have said they will come up with a new TS by the end of 2010) and TvsT is dead as it is.
I am not preaching just using the arguments that convinced me to pay!

This all looks amazing to say the least. Is there any plans to make a useable T34/76 or useable PZ3?, or will they stay AI controlled. I think it would be fun to use the lesser armed tanks, its fun being the underdog sometimes ect.
Anyway this makes me a very happy man that TvT has not died, but is actually very much alive. I will be sure to buy a copy off of you.

so, ummm... why does it have to be by months end?:06:
I am not sure why Sharkbait but you could ask him the question. My own personal take is that he is planning to release his Kursk mod in February and he wants to see what the public response is to his proposal (I 'd call it Pay 'n Play.It sounds so American:cool:). Perhaps he also wants to make sure those interested and who paid don't have to wait too long to get the goodies!
As for those who don't pay before 31/01/2010, I guess either they won't get the full package or may be some of the benefits coming with membership or technical support or even discount or free future mods or releases. But it's just a personal guess; only ZW knows what his own plans are.

Hello ZeeWolf,
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this tank simulation. I have downloaded and installed your two new missions with all the added features (Nebelwerfer, etc.), and I am really impressed. These constitute a substantial improvement over the stock game.
These missions made me very interested in the Kursk module you are working on. Before I sign up for my one-year membership, I would like to ask a few questions, though.
I am mainly interested in offline play. Thus, I was rather disappointed to see that the original TvT game had only twelve missions, structured into two campaigns with only two playable vehicles.
Will there be more missions/campaign options and more playable vehicles in the Kursk game? Is there going to be a tutorial for the TvT mission editor?
Will the behaviour of the AI infantry be improved. I don't mean their manners ;), but their actions. In comparison, for example, I thought that the infantry model in Steel Fury was much superior to TvT. The Steel Fury infanterists doge, crouch and jump for cover when under fire and shoot at enemies within range, whereas the TvT fellows just stand there, waiting to be mowed down by my tank's machine gun. The only thing that struck me as extremely unrealistic in the Steel Fury infantry model was that these guys are able to take out almost any tank by simply throwing a grenade at it.
Some of my relatives fought on the eastern front in WW II. They said that to knock out Soviet tanks, they used to climb up to the hatches and throw grenades into the tank, or they wedged mines or bundled grenades between the turret and the hull, or into the wheels.
One last thing. When I play TvT in the commander position, sometimes I get bumped to the driver position and my AI gunner and driver disapear. Can this be fixed, either in TvT directly, or with the Kursk module?
That's as far as my rant goes. I really appreciate your work and I am looking forward to the Kursk game.
Best regards,
FW

I am totally focused on offline play and I have future plans that will include
maps and mission packs that will encompass many if not all the panzer battlefields
from 1939 to 1945.
Will there be more missions/campaign options and more playable vehicles in the Kursk game? Is there going to be a tutorial for the TvT mission editor?
Foundation Members will be given as a gift of appreciation from me my new models
in the Kurk release as well as in the mission 6 release plus allot more priority
arrangements. Like the first to receive any new releases and priority tech support
etc.

I plan on upgrading to the latest version of Maya. That is where I will start adding more animation to the characters. You see the animation library for humans
is very limited but the good news is the ability to add new additions is enormous.
One last thing. When I play TvT in the commander position, sometimes I get bumped to the driver position and my AI gunner and driver disapear. Can this be fixed, either in TvT directly, or with the Kursk module?
I am unaware of this particular issue, but it may help if you disable the joystick
option.

Hi ZeeWolf,
Thanks for your reply. Could the bug that I described result from having the German version of TvT? I bought the game in Germany sometime ago. Getting bumped from the commander's position to the driver's seat and losing the AI driver and gunner occurs in all of the standard missions, but not your new missions. It seems to happen only on specific spots on the map.
By the way, in order to sign up for a one-year membership in your project, is it possible to pay directly by credit card, or does one have to have a PayPal account (which I would prefer to avoid)?

Hi ZW,
first of all, i transferd 50$, for a membership on your site.
I thought TvT is dead, but it is like the PHOENIX, it lives again. THANKS!!!!
Two Questions
I saw Tiger II, Jagdpanther on this forum, will there be a Panther G late type with chin and heater on the rear?
This is more private: is your origin name not Hungarian?
Thanks
YOUR addon is and will be great, fantastic. (Installing TvT)
Just wanted to share that I spent a couple of hours last night hunting in my Tiger. Awesome work Zee! This is what the sim should have behaved like when released.
My recommendation is to give Zee full support on this project, an up to date WWII tank sim is just indispensable. The maps, the terrain, foliage and trees where just awesome to fight in but there was so much wrong with a lot of things in the original release.
This has been resolved to the point where we have really good tank sim and I am in hog heaven.
Awesome!

Hi to Zee Wolf and all fellow tankies.
I've been away from the forums for a while and just discovered this thread last night. And have read it all!
I too bought TvT when it first came out and, like most of you thought what a waste of a golden opportunity for a brilliant tank sim. And stuck it on the shelf after playing the first two missions. I had wanted for years to be able to drive a Tiger across the Russian steppes, and now we were given this half finished abortion of a sim which Lighthouse immediately dropped like a red hot coal, using the excuse that there is a very limited market for tank sims. They are mistaken - there is no market for BAD tank sims.
But now we have ZW and his one man crusade to turn this flawed but potentially rich and rewarding tank sim into something of vast scope, entertainment and education.
On behalf of all the Tiger enthusiasts out there I would just like to say THANKYOU VERY MUCH for all your hard work and dedication to this project, and the very best of luck for its future. 2010 looks like, finally, being a big year for TvT and that is down to you. Brilliant brilliant work.

Just came across this site. http://panzersim.forumotion.com/t34-vs-tiger-general-f1/ Hadn't heard of them before, perhaps because until recently all I had played was modded PE? Anywho, I put the word out there about Tvt Kursk, so maybe we'll see a few more new faces here. From what I saw, I only saw this add-on mentioned once in passing and nobody seemed to pay it much attention, so I created another thread to hopefully draw a little more attention. We'll see.:hmmm:

Thanks for the new German mission. I just downloaded and played it. Works just fine and I like it a lot, but the T-34s mostly get me pretty quick with their X-ray vision. :DL
I am currently waiting for a new credit card to arrive, so I can sign up for a one-year membership. Hopefully, it will arrive before January 31.

Hi ZW,
As you requested in your email, here is my bug report. I can't really say to what extent these issues are caused by my system, your software, or by installation mistakes I may have made. So here goes:
Christmas Missions:
I installed the two new mission for the German and Soviet campaigns when they became available around Christmas. The German mission (first mission of campaign) ran fine, up to the point when the Soviet infantry appears. Then, the game started to stutter considerably. Once these guys were gone, things went back to normal in regard to frame rates. With the recent update to the members-only-file, this issue has worsened. Then, even after the Soviet infantry were down, frame rates did not recover and the rest of the mission played only with extreme stutter.
The last German mission (Breakthrough) ran just fine.
The first Soviet mission ran a bit stuttery, too, but not as much as the German one. Lowering the graphics settings and resolution had no noticeable effect on the stutter. In your mission, the player's T-34 always pulls left on its own accord.
Members-only-file update:
Same problems as above. In addition to that, now, the last German mission, too, runs with a lot of stutter, especially when the KV-85s show up. The Pz III's have white, or light-grey turrets, while the chassis are sand-yellow. I think, I read something about a fix for that in the forum, but can't remember exactly where.
When opening the first version of the members-only-file, as well as the update, I got a message about a virus being quarantined ( Virus/Malware Mal_DRPR-3).
My systems specs are: Windows XP-Professional, AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+, 2.01 GHz, 2GB RAM, ATI-Radeon X600/550.
I like the missions and the new vehicles/units a lot. It would be great, if I could run all of this a bit more smoothly. I fiddled with the settings, but so far to no avail.
I hope this is not too frustrating a feedback to you. It is meant as constructive criticism, not as a complaint.
Best regards,
FW

ZW
Hello Fellow ZW Members.
With ZW's latest release of his updated 6th and New German mission Tiger Break Out came some undesirable glitches and bugs.
I spoke with him about creating an open thread in which all of us would pool our experiences and share our findings of the problems that need to be addressedc and or fixed.
I think it makes sens to do it as a group rather thna piece meal tying up ZW with individual requests that may actually over lap in may respects.
I will list the problems I have experienced and in return feel free to post yours as they wil help ZW.Here s a l;ist of mine>
The Major ones.
1 Terminator KV85s These beasts seem to be immortal. You need at least a dozen shots to silence them and they never burn or explode or even emit smoke. They ll stop shooting but their guns would still track my Tiger. In real life Kvs are no better armoured than T 34/85.Thye kill my 2 wingmen tanks despite being shot to pieces.ZW told me the problem is being fixed.
2/ AI with X Ray eyes. The problem still persists with unseen tanks and guns shooting you to pieces through dense wood or behind hills. It really detracts from enjoying the game and prevents you from using ambushing or flanking manoeuvres.
3-the mission map is useless does not track your tank and no markers for Soviet units.
Minor bugs:
1- Panzer III s with whitish turrets(being fixed).I knw Friedrich Wilhelm expereinced the same problem.
2-Ballistics.those Soviet tanks can shoot like artillery it seems. The shots are way too curved or lobbed.(Being fixed). It seems to me too that the reload rate of Soviet tanks is too fast. This had been addressed and solved by Monk´s MMP3 patch but it s been overwritten by ZSW´s mod.
3) at the beginning of the mission there s a couple T34 that have been killed and still rushing forward at full speed like they are possessed. Eerie.
4) at tiimes there are white streak appearing in the fabric of the game. Minor glitches which don t really bother me.
Overall interesting mission.Lots of action, much, much improved over the original Surviving the Escape.New models, inventive, wide open spaces, opportunity for action and manoeuvring.I like it.
Fellow ZW Members.Let´s hear it from you.
Regards
Frinik.
My quick report.
White Turrets - reported.
KV-85's - reported
AI X-ray eyes, I believe this comes from the origonal game release as the Tanks gun can still travel thru trees when turning, until that bug is fixed, I believe the AI Tanks will allways be able to see and shoot you.
Noticed the Tank Commander when activated and you are shooting still calls out tanks to shoot when they are already destroyed.
Something needs to be reworked with the Tigers throttle, as it is a real pain to get it to stop at 2600 rpm, or the engine overheats.
The sight on the Tiger needs to be tweaked, as the distance seems to have been cut in half. The commander yells out 600 yards, but you better have it on 300 or you will overshoot.
I would suggest that the reloading sounds be increased, as the loader when you are gunning is actually only 2 feet away from you throwing in a round in the 88.
And a wish-list for "Z"
1.) My tank camoed.
2.) Screeching and clattering of the treads(like in Saving Private Ryan)
3.) Tigers worked in pairs, start with 3 others if possible, with one on yer butt when hunting.
Thats all for now, Great mission ZeeWolf, keep 'em comming.

Report moved to zw members fix thread.
Thanks for the input KDF very useful!
BTW I started a separate thread called ZW´s 6th Mission Update Fixes. We can use it to voice our experiences and reports.I pasted the same message on it.
Me too I would like to have company of other Tigers in a mission to have my flanks and rear protected.
Re the clattering of the tank caterpillar I also concur. In Steel Fury for example, every tank has its own specific sound(clicking of engine and treads) and it´s make the game more immersive. This what I discussed with ZW that Steel Fury compared to TvsToffers a much more " emotional " battlefield which modders have even made more catchy with Steel sounds collection mods and frontline accosutics. You have men screaming or shouting in both Russiana nd German, constant explosions, the rattling of machine guns, guns shootings, planes flying above or straffing you you really feel the intensity like you re in it.By comparison Tvs T is cold and sterile and does not give you that gripping feeling. It s like being in a silent movie. But my own feelings is that modders could perhaps work on that while ZW focusses on the core stuff.
The thing is ZW´s mods and work in progress and a giant undertaking.he is going to need our assistance and patience. He is a one-man team and as members our part is to help him along with useful criticism and feedback and also praise for the goood stuff.Which is what you did KDF(thanks) and so am I(at least trying to:D.
Others care to share their 2 cents worth?

Hello All,
I agree with Frinik's comparison of Steel Fury and TvT in regard to immersion. TvT always was a bit more "sterile" than Steel Fury. Would it be possible, for example, to have crews bailing out of damaged tanks in TvT?
However, I think that ZW is doing great work for this game and I am looking forward to more of his work.
Sorry for beeing so dense, but how do I get to the zw members fix thread?

Ask and Thou shalt Recieve
Freidrich Wilhelm, the comparison I made between TvsT and SF does not detract in any way the Herculean and wonderful undertaking that ZW is doing.Obviosuly I believe in him and in his efforts otherwise I would not have paid to have the chance and privilege of being a member of his club. However we are discussign ways of making this game even better than it was and making it the best SIM on the market as ZW wishes to do.

Hello Frinik,
Thanks for your reply. What I wrote in my previous post was not meant as a demeaning comment on ZeeWolfs wonderful work. What I meant to say was that when comparing TvT and Steel Fury out-of-the-box, so to speak (without mods of any sort), I felt that Steel Fury was a bit livelier and more immersive. These are differences that were built into these games from the beginning, something that I don't think ZeeWolf had any influence on. I very much appreciate what he does for TvT and, like you, I paid my membership because I believe that with ZeeWolf's skill and perseverance, and with our support, TvT can go far beyond what was contained in the original release.
Cheers,
FW
FW it´s funny because we are saying the same thing and apologising while no apologies are needed. In my previous posts, I was the one reacting to your comment "
However, I think that ZW is doing great work for this game and I am looking forward to more of his work."
by saying that the comparison I made between SF and TvsT was not meant to diminish or criticise ZW ´s work on the contrary I definitely didnt think you were criticising ZW´s work nor was I. But like you I feel that Sfd offers that immersiveness and atmosphere that TvsT never had.But my hope is that talented modders(unfortunately I have no skills or abilities in that area) will flock to ZW´s new maps and improvements and like they are doing for Sf create new mods improving the sounds an other important details. In fact Monkwarrior and other did mod TsvT but for multi players.I installed their MMP3 and $ mods which improved the Tiger engine and gun soundfs , and tweaked the rate of reload for both Tiger and T34 as per historical data.ZW no matter how talented and dedicated he si cannot do everything by himself.
Question, is your game crashing with the latest update or is it working well other than the bugs described in the previosu posts?
Cheers
Friedrich-Wilhelm

Hi Frinik,
I'm sure glad we got that sorted out. :DL I have MMP5 installed, even though I have never played TvT online. I did it because I wanted the new sounds and loading rates, but I did not make a clean backup when installing MMP5. :-? Furthermore, I am running the German version of the game, because that's where I bought the CD. So far, apart from the considerable stutter in the first and last missions of the German campaign, the game runs fine. My graphics card is probably a bit dated (ATI Radeon X 600/550), perhaps explaining, at least in part, the low frame rates. When downloading ZW's members-only-file, I got a message about a virus being quarantined. Did you (or any of the other members reading this post) get that too?

It's obvious you should do a virus scan. And my system is clean.
ZW
Friedrich lilhelm, like ZW I think you should scan your pc for malware or virus. The message may also have come from your Antivirus Program.
My wife complains that every time she tries to access U Torrent she gets a message from her Panda Antivirus telling her that a virus has been stopped.AVG antivirus also has a tendency to wrongly detect as virus new downloads or mods installs. You can always disable your antivirus when you do an install to avoid that problem and reactivate it once the install is finished.
TvsT is notorious for beign very demanding on a graphic card. On my wife's computer with a 256 mgs dedicated Nvidia 7000 the game runs slow.on my own computer with 512 dedicated ATI Radeon 3650 the game runs fine but I did experience low FPS at the beginning of ZW's new Kurtenski mission. So if your graphic card is less performant the low FPS are normal.
Re MMP5, ZW said to uninstall all mods as they are not compatible with his own.
Cheers
Hello ZW,
Congrats on all amazing work done and your epic undertaking!
Always seen TvT as Diamond in the rough, I never understood why so little was done to improve (save MMP) it by modders. (compared to SH series ect)
I stumbled on these threats only recently.
My question is, is it possible to join later/now? At this time the deadline to join has passed.
I am happy to pay $50 for an good TvT addon, but would like to see what I get.
Is there anyway to see what the membership brings in terms of goodies wich is also updated?
Good luck with polishing the Diamond!

To other ZW members,I was thinking would it be possible for someone to put up the members version on Youtube showing what's new?
If you look at TvT videos on Youtube there always seems to be interest in the game.
This is beyond my technical abilities though
Maybe a good way to drum up more support,if ZW wants to expand then it certainly can't do any harm.
Just my thoughts,Chucky.
Chucky this is an excellent idea. However ZW has the last word since he owns the mod.But personally I don´t think it can hurt to let others see what he has achieved.

According to my manual, which is for the German version (German keyboard layout?), the screen shot key is "F8." It says, that screen shots are saved as bmp files in the root folder of the game. Have never tried it myself, though.
If you'd like, I could scan the whole manual to pdf for you.

Just a quick question that is probably answered somewhere in this thread - but it's a long one!
I just got a copy of TvT and I wanted to play with it until this Kursk mod becomes available (for which I will happily pay!). It looks like there was some sort of membership thing where you could get the ZW mods/fixes - is that correct?
I also see there's a donation page, which I'd like to do - but not if I can't even access the existing mods/fixes. Seems like that would be a little ridiculous since I'd be supporting something I'm locked out of.
So - am I missing something? I almost went ahead and donated $10 just because I appreciate *anyone* supporting tank sims these days, but then the thought occurred that I'd like to at least be able to get those fixes if possible.
Sorry if this has already been answered.
Thanks,
Erich

Hello and welcome kondor999 (Erich), I see your point and my lack of details
is due to my some what narrow focus (for the time being). I will have complete
details when I can give a definite time and date of the Kursk add-on release.
Meanwhile my Christmas gift is still available (free) and membership will be
available once again with the Kursk release. I have to say, many must share
your apprehension, because I have received no donation since the January 31st
deadline. Therefore I intend to produce a stellar tank simulation add-on for
T34 vs Tiger first for my self to enjoy (I love this Sim)and second to share
with others who are willing to pay a very reasonable amount.
Thanks for you interest in Project ZeeWolf

Hi, I'm a rookie in this forum, and I'm French, so excuse me if my english is not very good. Well, I've just seen the last post, telling that the Kursk Mod will be ready for march 2010. Will it run on Vista ? Original game runs well on my PC, under Vista 64. I hope so !
See you soon.

Should we pay for making good job, or should we pay for well done job ? Everyone's got his own answer. For me, for such a project, why not "participate" with money, even if it's just a little bit. Well, I'd like to give something, but is it possible from Euro-zone ?
And I've got the original training book for the PzKpfW VI (german), pretty well scanned, explaining motors, guns, lenses and so on. Is it interresting for anyone ? Can give a copy if it is. Also, perhaps to have a more realistic sound, it is explained what the crew sayed exactly. For exemple, when the chief gives the direction of a target, he doesn't say "am 8 Uhr", but "am Frühstück !" (At breakfast). 8 AM is time for breakfast, and it was easyer to remember for the crew. All is explained in this book. I'm ok to try a complete translation in english, but it will be a hard job. I also speak german if it could help.
Good game everyone ! Greatings from France !

Hello and welcome WolfAngriff,
Yes. If you have the Original T34 vs Tiger running well on your Vista 64 PC
then the Kursk Add-on should as good or better.

I would like a copy of your PzKpfW VI original training book that would be
very interesting.
The voice sound files would all have to be re-done to maintain the
immersion effect. And I am not able to do that yet but it can be done.

OK, he probably refers to the TIGER Fibel ("TIGER-handy-quick-reference") written in 1943 and must have 4 every tanker.:know:
I actually printed it out and binded it to a little booklet, and referred to it during gunnery training in TvT. Makes ya aprreciate the accuracy of the game even more.
Anyways heres the link:http://tiger1.info/fibel/
Enjoy but be advised its in german....

NB. I have seen better copies online, but lost the link. If not happy, a google for Tiger Fibel may help.

Hey trebby, that was a good job - i sometimes use your Tigerfibel-link
but i don't belive that WolfAngriff refers to the fibel
i know the "Ausbildungsvorschrift für die Panzertruppe am Panther" but not for Tigers - so i'm very interested :yep:
http://www.superborg.de/bilder/HDv0470_5e.jpg
i also know the Dienstvorschrift DV613/x "Schießausbildung und Schießübungen von Panzerkampfwagen" but i never saw one of these DV :(
Hang on ZeeWolf and Panzermänner,
just for the record....too much honor for the Tiger-Fibel.
That great piece of work was done by somebody else.
I was just a happy mediator on sharing this info.:salute:
I downloaded every page from the manual (listed as seperate pages) and then colorprinted them, finally binding all pages myself for an "Sacret Document".:yeah:
As I was in Hong-Kong last year, in an model shop they actually sold it as a paperback A4 format book, translated in english. Didnt buy it :damn: because I preferred the original german text, but gotta say I still feel sorry about that now...
As mentioned before, an Panther-fibel also exists online as free download, I will try to give you a link later.
The "Panzertruppe Vorschrift" I did not find yet as accesible version anywhere yet....
Cheers, trebb
Ah... found Panther-Fibel. Good additional reading about Panther too.

Sorry for the time lost, but I've had a lot to do. Yes, it is the Fibel 1943 issue I have, so nothing new. I can send you a copy, just tell me how. I've looked in all the documentation I've got, but nothing else very interresting about Tigers or T34. Perhaps something about the tactical formations on battlefield. I've noted that the panzers don't respect the security distances between themselves, but it is surely excessive. The other thing that is not verry correct in the game is that the panzers drive one behind the other. I think that Herr Oberst will have a heart-attack if he sees that ! :) Ok ok, it's only a game !
Something else, perhaps already seen in the forum, so sorry if, but the most frustrating (is it the good word ?) in the game is that we can't command the other tanks, or receive messages, in one player mode. Why did'nt they think about ? We could do that in an old game like Panzer Front, so why not here ?
WolfAngriff, TvsT is a multiPlayer game fiorst and foremost. It was never intended to be SP.The 12 existing stock misisons are merely for training so the player could get the hang of both tanks controls and then move on to the MP which was the game's bread and butter. This is why the SP missions are ridiculously buggy and not well polished. This is also why there is no command interface as exists in other sims like Panzer Elite, Steel Fury(in a limited fashion) or Panzer Front. Those games are mostly SP or at least mixed (as for PE).
Zee Wolf is modding the game and giving birth/spawning a wonderful new SP mod which will make TsvT into a real SP sim. It's not impossible in the near future that he may turn his attention to the interface part in order for the player to be able to truly command his wingmen.Like you I would be happy to have some degree of control over the AI because it tends to act dumbly(running around in circle or dancing the twist), rashly( rampaging rambos) and is very unpredictable.
However this will have to wait until after the Kursk mod is released.Meanwhile at least ZW has markedly improved the AI behaviour and everybody who bought into his mod can enjoy it and those who didn't well can sample the freebies he released....

All right Frinik. For the time, my connexion is too weak to support MP games, and in fact, the times I've played Multiplayer (CFS 2, HoI, Il2...)were not good experiences. People I've found there seemed to have a very little brain :O: ! But it's true, as you see in my posts, that I'm a little bit too "historic" in my points of view. Surely because of where I'm from. I've had the chance that five (!) generations were still alive in my family when I was born, and they died old. So they could tell me what happened in northern France during WWI and WWII, and even memories of 1870. And I've read a lot !!!
I hope, in other threads, to find people who would like to debate about history. There are very interesting american studies, but translations don't come quick. But for now, I'm looking in my books fot things interesting for this game. So much dust !:D
See you.
WolfAngriff you can debate history here or on any other thread there is no censorship or impediment as far as I know.
As to the American studies you are talking about what do they talk about?
Incidentally I come form Europe too and every part of Europe has been time and time again ravaged, conquered, invaded, looted, occupied, freed, partitioned etc.Europe is one vast battlefield and has been for the last 2000 years or more.

Thanks for the heads up but there are no PC viruses or trojans on my site
The small delete cash utility I have recently learned flags some virus scanners but the file "DeleteCache" is clean. I make sure to scan all files uploaded to my site so I am sure they are safe. I understand about trusting someone you have never met especially on the net however my entire relationship with the Tank Simulation community is based on trust.
So anything that would undermine that foundation would bring me severer harm and I am dedicated to building a long term, good reputation. And
of course that takes work with the addition of going the extra mile. In
other words I will do what it takes.
Sincerely,
ZeeWolf
Oh, BTW Lazarus is one of my favorite men of the Bible. After being
raised from the dead, he was the only one that "they" plotted (on oath)
to murder along with Jesus.
Lazarus 905, I am a Zee Wolf club member and I have been on his various sites many times and never once did my antivirus report any trojan or malware. There are 26 members in his club and Zw's website has been visited by hundreds or people.Nobody - except for you it seems - has ever reported any problems.
I think your mistrust in ZW is totally misplaced ; may be it's your antivirus that you should distrust?????
Guys,I have just visited ZW's site and I too am getting threat warnings.I never have done before.:-?
I use AVG (paid version) and this is what it is telling me.Maybe this will help.
The page you are trying to access has been identified as a known exploit, phishing, or social engineering web site and therefore has been blocked for your safety. Without protection, such as that in the AVG Security Toolbar and AVG, your computer is at risk of being compromised, corrupted or having your identity stolen. Please follow one of the suggestions below to continue.

Name: Link to known exploit site (type 750Now this may be an over-zealous AVG I don't know. It's not un-common to get false reports with anti-virus software etc.
As I said,I have visited many times before and never had any problems.
I have complete faith in ZeeWolf.I don't often hand over money to people I meet on forums but this guy is an exception.
Chucky.
Chucky, ZW , I tried accessing ZW's website from my 3 laptops, each using a different antivirus(AVG the free, basic version, Pandacloud and Norton).I received no virus alert or no warning or any kind. I suspect it's your AV which are being overzealous.Still let's wait and see fio others have reported a similar problem.
Could it be that somebody tried to access ZW's website to hack it or infect it?
Likewise I don't normally hand over money to just anybody and I gladly paid Zee Wolf because I was convinced that he is a straight and honest man.
As you say Frinik,it may well be a false result.I am also occasionally getting a similar threat from a commercial gaming web-site I use frequently. This is only since I used the paid version of AVG.
Chucky, my wife does not like AVG because she says that if often rejects downloads as potential threats. She says it tends to overreact.
Have you been using that AV for long or is it recent since you converted your OS to Win 7?
I've always used the AVG free edition for as long as I can remember, but I bought a licence about 6 months ago.
Just out of interest I booted to my XP drive which has the free edition AVG on it and I still got a hit on ZW's site :-?
Anyway,I am sure he will have a look at that message I posted and see what's what.
Chucky.

The Foundation Membership allows you full access to my project Zeewolf creations for a full year. The membership after the Jan.31 deadline will be
limited and cost more for some things the Foundation Members are entitled
to. I must say too that this is all new to me and I have been playing it by ear so-to-speak as far as pricing goes. However membership will be offered again just prior to the new Kursk release plus the cost of the release.

it looks like a Hummel, Sig33, Nashorn and then finally the Wespe.
The Brumbar had a "socket" type gun mount and lacked that small piece of armor that slides up and down with the gun on the sig33.
I may be able tell the difference between the two from a mile, but I'll never figure out why the germans would make both.
Man they had some crazy ideas.
I've been following the progress on this for awhile now but just joined the forums, I'm very interested in paying what I have to to get this game when the time comes...
One last thing... anyone else play this game in 3d? i use the nvidia 3d vision and I'll tell ya there's nothing more satisfying then watching a hot round sail out to target and connect when you've got the extra depth perception. For the sake of 3d - compatability is descent and it really adds to the fun. I am by no means a veteran though and am a long ways from proficient at the game, my play until now has been more of a "tinkering"
I've been waiting for a good tank sim since Panzer Commander and here it is*
Does anyone know where i can buy a copy of t34 v tiger in canada?
thx and ill keep a close eye on things here!

Hello animal,
The Brumbar was built on the Pz 4 hull and the sIG33 was built (on the Pz III hull ) from a special order of 24 units for Stalingrad.
The only sIG33s to survive for Kursk was the ones that were not completed and shipped to Stalingrad.
Of those, (7 units) fought to break-out the surrounded Kameraden
at Stalingrad. So I figured I would have them show up at Kursk again.

Thanks eddie,
You'll probably like this too. For an after Kursk release.:yep:

ZeerWolf
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!before we get to see that bridge we will have to survive the first fifteen minutes on the battlefield; the artillery barrage, the mines, the hordes of T34/85, KVs, JS2s, SU 76/85/100 , the AT guns, the anti tank ditches.....
Excellent work Zee as usual.
One thing Zee beofre the release would it be possible to somehow tame our wingmen so they just don't rush forward and either get killed in the first 2 minutes of the mission or kill everything in sight before we've had time to move and catch up????Last week I played the Tigers Shake Kurtenki misison and my wingman took off like a madman and in 8 minutes killed everything in sight. I rushed to catch up and when I arrived at the ned he was finishing off the last AT gun.I was left with a mission successful with 6 infantry kills to my credit and barely 4 shots fired!!!!
This kind of behaviour could become a real problem in the Kursk relase considering the magnitude of the challenges we will face.We want wingmen to protect our sides and rear while we take on the Sov positions. If you could instill just a little bit of restraint so they still take an active role but leave you the player in control would be terrific!
Beautiful scenery, Your maps are really grandiose Zee!
Cheers

Hi'
Just for your oppinion , I have a mediocre PC - 2.53GHZ/ 2 GB Ram/ 128 MB GF videocard. XP-sp3 / will I be able to run Kursk reasonably :hmmm:
BennoBoom
Benno I tried installing the game on a laptop with a 128 mg card , Windows XP, 2 gigs RAM and a 2.0 processor and the game would not even start.I have it on a 256 mb and it runs fines but barely.I have to run everything low and with resolution of 840 X 600.My FPS is in the low teens or even lower. But thanks to ZeeWolf´s mod it does not stutter.I have it on a 512 mb with 4 RAM and it runs well albeit with FPS in the mid to upper teens.I sincerely doubt that with your graphic card the game would run .If it runs brace yourself for slow motion, stuttering or even freezes. But try and see what happens...
That bridge looks great, but I'm at a loss as to which bridge it is, or where its located?

That bridge looks great, but I'm at a loss as to which bridge it is, or where its located?
Me too! But I would like to model the one on the Deniper if you have any details of one that I can use to model it I would appreciate that very much.
I had in mind the fighting withdrawal across that river around Kremenchung
1943.:hmmm:
ZeeWolf
ZW, I haven't been able to find a picture of bridges in that area, but came across this article describing the bridge as being made of wood.
"The long wooden bridge at Kremenchug alone had to serve as a crossing point for ten divisions, six of which were panzer divisions. The XI Infantry Corps was put in charge of the river crossing and was assigned two special staffs to assist in this mission. One staff had to make certain that the march order was observed on the north bank and had to enforce one-way traffic in order to ensure a steady flow of approaching units. The other special staff was employed on the south bank of the river at Kryukov with the mission of assuring the rapid debouchment of the divisions. Although the mission sounded simple enough, its execution presented all manner of difficulties. Even before the previously scheduled withdrawal of garrison installations and unwieldy army and army group supply units had been completed, the situation demanded that the panzer divisions cross immediately. Some Russian parachute troops had meanwhile landed on the other side of the river and their ground forces had begun to cross the river upstream. Only motorized units were capable of reaching the south bank of the river between the bridges in time to restore the situation. In order to give the panzer divisions precedence over other units, it was necessary to stop all traffic and clear the roads for the tanks. For five days mixed columns of all arms extending over many miles camped in the adjacent fields or, wherever this was impossible because of the many swamps, they kept to the side of the road and waited for the signal that would allow them to continue on their way. Their campfires were close to their foxholes. Alongside these columns, or trapped between them, were streams of refugees and herds of cattle"
Will keep looking though!

That is excellent eddie,:know: I will save the bridge in the image for a mission
that will suit it's use. I truly appreciate your concise account, that is very
good. It's obvious you are very interested in this subject matter of WWII
That is a tremendous driving force behind my work and long term plans for
T34 vs Tiger and likewise with my other Kamraden. I look forward to your research results. :salute:

ZeeWolf
Zee by all means keep that bridge for future misisons it's majestic and I can image the fighting and fun we could have :
A) destroying it
B) shooting it out and trying to storm that bridge
C) trapping Soviet tanks columns on tha bridge and setting them on fire:up:
That being said I suspect that considering hwo primitive the Ukraine was during those days by all descriptions, it is likely that the bridge was indeed a log and timber type of pontoon rather than a Western European type of contruction such as the one you depicted. I will google it and I think we can find pics of the real thing somewhere.
Cheers!

It will be awhile until my city structure library is built up but now would be
good to do some research though. I would welcome the help and suggestions

2) Would be in the former USSR during 43-44.
and 3). Include Tigers :DL

Zee Got any ice modelled yet :haha::yeah:
For Info ZW and tankers from (Janes) War on the Eastern Front by James Lucas
Although not the ('43) period you were interested in, the Germans constructed an "ice Bridge" due to the Soviets
destroying all the Dneiper bridges during their withdrawal, including the giant railway bridge which linked Kiev,
Poltava and Kursk. Zee What you have designed could be used for an earlier period prior to the winter of 41/42
maybe the heavy rail bridge described below.
There was in fact only one useable heavy bridge, a 22-tonner for the whole area between Kremenchug and the Pripet
Marsh. (There is much information on the German engineers construction techniques for the ice bridge, it was
successful and supplied the 6th Army during a critical period from February until the thaw in the first week
of March via rail lines for rolling stock). It was 1600 metres wide and built of dressed ice blocks
(15,640 in number) and timber. It took 12 days to construct.
Unfortunately I cannot find any reference to the '43 bridge but earlier in the summer of '41 the Germans built
wooden bridges in a day!. Of course these were under favourable summer conditions.
Just polishing my shell cases (Auto gunner not very good at this job!)

Your history account is fantastic, like so many others
here in America I have never heard about the "ice bridge"
The enormous struggle on the "Ost Front" has been a mystery
for to long but that is slowly changing and that is a good
thing. Although the Deniper area mission is still a ways
away I am always open to those incredible stories that
help bring to light the un-told history of the Eastern
Front.

Well Guys I am in the mission programing stage and
the last of the real challenging stages. And I have
to tell you there are almost 700 Soviet troops just
manning the artillery. I do have a few more environmental
objects I can add for the finishing touch so-to-speak,
and so much more in the line of AFVs(not built yet) but
they will come later. The main thing I have to stress
now is: This Kursk release is REALLY going to require
some CPU and GPU power. I will try my absolute best
to optimize what is possible at this level but please
understand T34 vs Tiger with my add-ons will demand
a very fast computer.
I am working at completion by the end of the month.
and I appreciate truly your patents and support thru
the last few months. I plan on releasing first to the
Foundation ZeeWolf Members then I will set up a plan
for all you guys how would like to jump on board.
That means there will be a membership charge plus the
addon charge and that will be established after the
Foundation Members are satisfied.
Sincerely,
ZeeWolf
I for one ain't scared Zee.It means with things running in slow motion more time to see those shells coming at us, those T34s coming ever so slowly. It will give Lc plenty of time to bat away at the shells with his crutches.|You have to see the bright side of everything you know?
Seriously what kinds of specs are we supposed to have CPU and GPU-wise to cope?
How many tanks & guns will be involved both sides?
Cheers

Well frinik I just odered a new Video card, a Radon 4770. I am sure that will
do the trick. I have an Nvidea 8600 GT Twin Turbo, of course I would love to
have what LC has but I can't afford it. The specs on the 4770 are probably
more than sufficient, almost twice the HP of the 9800 GTx's - that is on the
benchmark tests. So any way, I still will lighten up on the demand for a real
highend card for guys like your self. Although I think when the real changes
planned for T34 vs Tiger's future the computing power demand will only
go up and up and up. :yep:
As for the actual count on the artillery I think the final tally will be around
100-125 guns from 122-152mm. The anti-tank guns won't be as bad taking
Village C as they will be from there to Dubrova and beyond.
Cheers :salute:

100 to 120 guns??????:dead: How many tanks????
Is there still time to request a transfer to the Italian front????:06:
Cheers ( while I still have something to cheer about....)
I've got an intel corei7 920 @ 4.2ghz with hyperthreading on, 6gb of 2000mhz ddr3 and 2xGTX280's in SLI. This game runs really great on my machine though all I've played is the christmas gift from zeewolf and suspect the final game will slow things down somewhat. Nonetheless the game is more tehn enjoyable to play and I even can enable 16x anistropic filtering and 2x antialiasing and i still get 40+ fps at my lowest. Though I play at 1680x1050, when you play in 3d with Nvidia's 3d vision your computer is effectively doing things at double resolution (3360x2100 in my case :o) On account of having to render 2 perspectives. Without 3d and AA/AF my fps varies from 75-120+.
I dont post this as an E-penis thing, only to bring forward the idea that its unlikely anything will replace this game anytime soon, and we can expect to be playing the t34vtiger scene for a good many years. That being said those of you with slower machines will be able to run it one day. I remember things were the same back in the days of panzer commander. My little p166 struggled bigtime until I got a 3d accelerator, and it was a few years after the game came out before it ran at what I would now consider "enjoyable" speeds.

Thanks animal that is good news you sure have Horse Power so-to-speak
and the tank sim interest. I think you would make a great Kamerad of the
T34 vs Tiger's Project ZeeWolf.
Onwards, :salute:
ZeeWolf
Animal you can average 75 to 120 FPS with the 3d turned off and you are worried about Kursk slowing things down for you?????? :timeout:
I play the game fine with 14 to 19 FPS average at 1020 X 768 resolution. The only thing you have to worry about is you getting killed first on the battlefield because with your faster fps you'll get to the Soviet positions before the rest of us...
Anyway I am sure you'll have the time of your life with Zee's release.
ZW I am optimistic which is why I applied for a transfer to the Italian front; the food and the weather are better there....:88)

Hi ZW,
these are the greatest news i ever heard for a tanksim. To fight in France or Ardennes in those late war tanks are my favorites. I ever loved the years of 44-45.
Man, thats fantastic. Its not only a fight against russian vehicles but also against britissh( Firefly maybe) and american ones. This means we have a really big tank park and choises of vehicles. Every Euro i invested and will invest is worth for it.
COOL:yeah:
ZW if you make such kind of update news, you cant hold me any more, i cant wait to have these updates and surley discuss any problems (if there will be problems).
All members will enjoy and love your add ons (if we survive the first missions)
Thanx

France 1944-1945???? Fighting with a 68 tons monster guzzling fuel at 500 litres per kilometre, unable to cross normal bridges and with a top road speed of 17 km/ph? While facing total Allied air supremacy( American carpet bombings or British jabos straffing you with rockets), being constantly on the retreat with shortages of fuel, supplies, spare parts, ammo, being outnumbered in manpower and material and with maquis partisans harassing you and blowing up your rail and road communications...:wah:Thanks Zee for the kind thought but I think I'll stick with the Ostfront...Vodka sounds better than Cognac.:shifty:
I am flattered that you thought of me but frankly there are worthier Tiger commanders than me like Chucky, Friedrich Wilhelm or LC Summers for that glorious assignement....:shucks:

:o I have a 9800GTX+ so I will have to see how the battle goes.
I didn't expect to get away with the hardware I have for long but I'll see how other members report on performance verses rig but I have already started saving:wah:
Still as said before this sim could run for a long while (hopefully) so it's worth investing in the Hardware eventually - we'll see. Just keep yourself healthy Zee - early nights and strong coffee! I'll be interested in your own experience with the Radeon when you get it so grateful for a quick brief (if you get time:haha:).
Still love the trenches - but - that may change as they don't look healthy to be close to :nope:

Thanks you guys,
Yes LC I know you like the latest versions of AFVs. But you know the
population of buildings, factories and whole cities and towns will
have to be on the map so that means it will be awhile. However the
animated building and bridges are the simplest to create from
scratch and of course it's the kind of thing that can be really
enjoyable. But remember it is all possible even AI aircraft battles.
After all T34 vs Tiger was built on a helicopter simulation way
back in it's genesis.
And frinic if you ever built 1/35 scale models of the Panther and
King Tiger you will see that the hull dimensions are very close.
The high fuel consumption was due to plowing through the mud of
spring thaw and the fall rains otherwise no where near 500lts per Km.
I am glad you recognize the impossible task that the Germans faced
defending their nation against such odds. And I agree Vodka for me
too.
Hey Mort, you should be ok. I will let all know how my new 4770
performs. The good news is it cost me total of $114.00 bucks.
And yes early nights would be wonderful and strong coffee is a
must.
