We absolutely need and deserve this patch. A game like that can't allow itself to be bugged!

Dear Ubisoft,

I am simply nothing more than one of your long-time previously satisfied customers who have been buying your games for many years, indeed since your firm was founded (before some of your newer customers were born). Now, I am still waiting to buy SH-IV until I am satisfied by Neal and the fantastic Subsim community that it has been patched to the point of playability; and by the looks of things (i.e. pulling down official polls regarding the matter) you clearly don't seem to be interested in this. Maybe someone sabotaged the project? For what reason I can only speculate... perhaps someone at Ubisoft doesn't like the worrying trend of "intelligent" simulations to return to gaming and prefers us all to remain nicely dumbed-down?

Regardless, the simple fact is, until you patch SH-IV properly, you won't be getting any more of my money anytime soon. I was really looking forward to getting my hands on SH-IV for months and months, but I am now happy enough to stick with my trusty old SH-III and the outstanding job the mod community did with it.

Ubisoft, please also know that I shall now be extremely hesitant of buying any new games with Ubisoft on the box ever again in the future. And I can think of two other upcoming titles of yours that I have been waiting to be released to buy... now I am not so sure I want those anymore after reading about your recent bout of SH-IV unprofessionalism.

Regards,
Clive

PS: Thanks to Neal and the great Subsim crowd for keeping intelligent gaming alive, and also give my regards to Bernard :)

I love the Silent Hunter game line, always have. Actually, the Silent Hunter series changed my life. The very first one acted as a gateway for me into the world of "World History" and I now aspire to be a history teacher.

All because of this game.

Let's get it right Ubi.

Agreed with many of the sentiments expressed in this thread, and Neals words of course. I am one of those holding off buying SH IV because of all the bugs reported on these forums and other places. I put up with the silliness of the Starforce thingamajing on SH III, and the much needed patches - to eventually, through great mods, reaching the pinnacle of submaritime simulations - don't deny SH IV the chance to reach its potential by failing to remedy the glaring showstoppers that still exists.

For about a year and a half I have been lurking these forums, just reading instead of typing. Neal sent out an email asking for the community to speak up for a new patch for SH4. I do not have SH4 and I have no plans to buy it unless it is sold as a working game. UBI lost me as a sucker, I mean buyer. There are too many frustrating things in life, gaming should not be one of them. Ahoy Wrratt

Its 1944 in my campaign, and I have not been depth charged even ONCE!!!!! All good sub sims have 3 critical areas of gameplay:

1) The hunt
2) the kill
3) the escape

Number #3 hardly exists in this game, consequently, there is little suspense, no relief, no sense of challenge or earning a kill.

All previous Silent Hunter games have given me situations where my stomach was in knots, and for me, that was the key to replayabiliy.

I've stopped playing SH4 and would not reccomend it to anyone.

Thats why I think people still enjoy SH3 more... the escape is harder than the attack. :D

I would really like to see this fixed before I continue my campaign.

Thanks to everyone who comes up with fixes.

Yes Neal, we need a comprehensive patch to fix the yet addressed problems. I would at least settle for the game having accurate measurements in both Imperial and Metric game play. But the other mentioned bugs and fix's are needed as well.

Without a doubt, I have seen this kind of corporate bull played out by other game producers. I have yet gone back on my-self-made promise to buy from those SOB's again!!!

UBISoft your penciled in.

I gave up playing the game after discovering the problems. I can't believe a game with these issues can even be classed as 'Gold'. This is Beta at best.

Please fix these problems so that we can enjoy what promises to be a stunning sim.

Until then, I will continue in the Atlantic theatre with my German U-boat (SH3).

I installed SH4 and played a couple training missions, then started reading the threads here. I haven't touched it since other than install the 1.2 patch. As far as I'm concerned it's still a BETA release and if they don't finish what they started, it goes in the trash. I waited too long and refuse to play it unless it's fixed. Hell, I wanted SH3 to be a Pacific theater release and only grudgingly played that. I know a lot of people love the U-boats but I could care less about the Atlantic.

Now, after waiting 10 years, this is what gets put on the market...it's a disgrace. All those developer diaries and videos looked very impressive. I think what happened is UBISoft saw SH3 as having opened a window of opportunity. So they approached the developers and asked if they thought they could whip up a Pacific theater version pretty quick so they could make money on a shoestring budget.

It didn't work.

I've not yet played this game, but I am a huge fan of SHIII. My friends ordered SHIV for my birthday and it is enroute as we speak...having read bits of this thread, I am beginning to wonder if I'm going to regret asking this game as a present.

I was also a tad disappointed in the corner-cutting antics I noticed in Il-2: 1946...is this something plaging all Ubisoft games or what?:damn:

I hope for the best and for as many patches as SHIV requires to get my (or in this case my friends') money's worth.:yep:

I fully agreed with this proposal,
please fix it the way customers want it.
imaging how much does these customer suggestion worth in commercial value,
and all of them already buy the product and provide them for free,
and please get rid of the retire enforcement feature,
I buy the game and play the way it allows and the way I want,
why must I be kicked out from my carry just because I sunk 100k ton in one protrol,
I did it at 50% realisum, so what??
it allows me to play at any %, right?
and it is a GAME, isn't it.

Last night I fought a running-gun surface battle with a Mogami class cruiser (in the submarine school tutorial) at 100% realism. She hit me only once, a glancing ding off the forward torpedo room. I poured shell after shell into her from 400 yards, for over 15 minutes, until I finally plugged her with three fish. I was rolling with laughter, but it never was the result I expected when I decided to surface in front of a Japanese cruiser. It wasn't a submarine simulator, it was a first-person shooter.

Ubisoft devs, please take the time to finish SH4 with the features it needs to make it historically (and sensibly) accurate... Sure, to surface in front of a heavy cruiser is not a bright thing to do, but I am not getting what I expect.

I am so glad I have waited and purchase this game. Yet again a developer shafts its consumer base. And yet some lame people wonder why sharing of cracked software is so popular in the world amongst gamers. :arrgh!:

Well here is another prime example of the "give us your money and we might give you what you thought you have purchased. If enough of you buy it to exceed our projected profits we may toss you a bone and fix something that should have been workign all along" mentality.

UBI has screwed over its consumers on several titles and I learnt my lesson on my last purcahse. So this time I was not bitten. :|\\ But I digress...

If I had the programming skill I would fix the damn thing and distribute it to all of you and I woudl to see them try to sue me. Sadly enough I dont have the skill.

My heart bleeds for you guys. hang in there brothers I'm sure someone out there can do whats needs done - to hell with IPR and DRM - power to the people that pay!!! :sunny:

BTW: This situation has made ARS a very popular IT news site. Someone should write something up for Evil Avatar as well as Toms Hardware and Cnet to really shine the light on UBI and its BS practices.

Well, here are my two cents...adjusted for inflation.

I bought the game the day it came out. Never having a CTD, which I hear is quite common, I was nevertheless forced to download P 1.1. I waited for P 1.2, and after listening to further complaints, I have not installed it. I will wait for P 1.3 and listen to you all before and if I install it. I have played the game twice, once for each day since I bought it. That means for 1 1/2 months my game has been sitting on the shelf.

Thoughts:
While I appreciate Mods and all they can do, I should not be required to install mod-fixes to play this game. After all, I DID purchase the game. It should work out of the box. I simply refuse to install mod-fixes. I'm one of those that don't know a frakkin thing when it comes to installing enhancements and stuff like that.

UBIsoft should make a general recall of all games and either re-imburse the consumer, or replace the game with one that works.

If P 1.3 does not work, I'm going to send the game to UBIsoft and ask for a refund.

It's really that simple. If I don't get some sort of satisfaction soon, I'll never by a Ubi built game again. The entire fiasco is presposterous.

Since the SH4 was announced by Ubisoft, the expectation increased at subsim community.
Everybody in the community thought that this new sub simulator will be, at least, the continuity of SH3, (without mod’s), in terms of quality and accuracy or even better.
Once the SH4 reach the stores we discover, after buying it, that the sim was unfinished and to play it was almost impossible due to the bugs.
This term was confirmed by the developers when they release the 1.1 and 1.2 patch, but these releases, fix only some of bugs, let say the more relevant, but still there are many areas with troubles, the AI, the radar’s, the campaigns, the patrols, etc. Anybody can read about that in the forums.
My questions are…
How is possible at this time, that this new SH 4 simulator is worst compared with the SH3 in terms of accuracy, fidelity, playability?..It should be the opposite.
Why this SH4 is a back step compared with the SH3?
My conclusion is, that the SH4 Sim has been developed for a DIFFERENT COMMUNITY OF SUBSIMMERS, NOT FOR THE THOUSAND OF SH3 PLAYERS.
The SH3 community is a mature one with this kind of simulators (see the forums). Since years, many people play through all the SH’s saga, and always discover something new and revolutionary in each new release...with the SH4 the situation is different, it is totally unlucky.
We recognize that the graphic area is super in SH 4, which is true, but also is true, that today the new graphic and processor technologies help to that, but I repeat, in many areas the accuracy, fidelity and playability of the SH4 is far away from its predecessors.
THE SUBSIM COMMUNITY LIKES TO KNOW THE UBISOFT POSITION REGARDING TO THE RELEASE OF NEW PATCH/PATCHES WHICH SOLVES THE REMAINING BUGS.
The Ubisoft position will help us to decide, either to keep the SH4 into the drawer without install for ever or install it and wait until the new patch 1.3 releases.
By the moment the SH4 is at darkest and deeper water, it will emerge?
UBISOFT, IS YOUR TURN...YOU MOVE

BOMBADIER
05-22-07, 06:09 PM
This sim could be very good indeed," BUT " it needs to have the worst of the still outstanding bugs fixed!!
I have been a very loyal customer to UBISOFT and most of the games I own are published by you, as you are one of the few publishers to release the type of games simulations that a man of my age still bothers to play. I'm 57years old and an ex soldier 18 years service, so i only play simulation type games IE: subsims, flight sims and millitary type sims.
So please give the game the patch's it deserves and i for one will continue to buy
your software.

:damn: This is how I feel!!
Awesome great game! But it has alot of problems which has to be addressed!
Alot of things in the game do not work!
1 Radio station station cannot be used manually
2 Hydrophone/Sonar station cannot be used manually
((There should be an ability to manually turn off Hydrophone and Sonar if the boat has a mission to sneak in somehwere I dont want to be pestered by silly contacts when I have a mission to take pictures and return to base! Or make it so time compression can be locked in somehow, it takes hours to get somehwere!))
3 Chronometer doesnt load data into the computer we cant use manual mode at all cuz of this pls pls help, this game should not be point and click its a simulation and has to be as real as possible!
4 Damage Control Team needs to be reworked! If there is flooding in the Sub, pumps do not work, and it sinks most of the time. The Damage Control Team is stupid if the sub is flooded they can work on silly antenna first instead of trying to patch the sub, and pump out water! There is No priority! Sub sinks too fast! Emergency Balast blow is not effective.
5 Missions repeat over and over.
6 Dive wings need to be fixed they get stuck in unnatural possition cutting inside the sub itself with hydrolic arms sticking out it sucks!
7 Where the hell is the rest of compartments!? Engine room!? Torpedo room! Crew Quarters! I mean ya UBIsoft got away with it in Silent Hunter 3 but not in SH4. Pls Fix it! We want to be alble to walk anywhere in the submarine!
8 I tried to terminate a lifeboat and a suvriver with a machine gun and nothing happened @_@ what the hell is this!? Are you kidding me!?
9 We should be able to engage other submarines. In the war subs were hunting eachother as well as ships.
10 Mechanics of the rough sea oceans needs to be reworked! At Stormy sea the sub looks like it just sits on top of waves without any momentum, sometimes you can see empty space between sub bottom and the surface of water, the submarine doesnt ride massive waves, sometimes propeller is out of the water. The displacement of water by the sub is not realistic.

These are just few things out of the top of my head, the game needs to be lovingly worked on and fine tuned so its greatness can really shine!

I wholeheartedly add myself to this petition.

Like countless others, I too plunked down my hard earned cash the day SH4 came out...then patched...and patched some more....and...

BEHOLD! There it sits- on it's lonely shelf with other, better games from years gone by.:nope:

For what it's worth, the eratic AI behavior is the deal breaker for me. It's just no challenge when they all mill around like drunk professors at a faculty dinner...waiting to be torpedoed at my leisure.

I'd like to see the dev team not only get 1.3 built and released, but also start offering enhancements to make up for oversights on the game's design.

Just after the game's release, I asked why the developers, when most needed, stopped listining to the people on this board. I was pretty much told that they're tired and I should get off their backs. Here it is how-many months later and they've still not finished.

Come on, guys! Finish the job you started.

Spartan
05-23-07, 03:02 AM
Honestly guys I dont think the petition is being looked at in the same eyes as we are looking at it. It is likely been seen through the perspective of "are there enough people that are angry with us to be able to hurt our public image and affect our stock price?". The idea of giving people what they paid for has not even entered the picture or we would not be having this discussion.

Additionally I have not signed the petition because to me it is worthless as a community tool for the above reason. We are not seen as a loyal community dedicated to supporting products of this nature but more as sheep rip for the fleecing. Talk about slap in the face. Furthermore why are so many asking in such polite ways to get what they thought they already purchased? Does the community feel that disempowered and disenfranchised?

There should be some righteously indignant posts in that thread as well as other threads on the official sites. Moreover people should get active on other game related sites and communities spreading the word that UBI screws over the gamers yet again. This plus email and blog activity and other creative protest methods like using Amazon and other Internet vendor consumer feedback tools, and not just for this title but all UBI titles for sale, to publicly denounce UBI and its bad practices.

These efforts should be coupled with a coordinated media enlightenment effort throughout the Internet to boot. Letters should also be sent to its major shareholders as well as press releases sent out to as many traditional media outlets as possible.

After what happened with Digg a couple weeks ago there is a great deal of interest in Internet related activism now so this community should capitalize on that sediment.

I think it goes without saying that UBISoft should keep releasing patches until, at the very least, any easily reproducable bug is fixed. I mean franchises like the Silent Hunter series are a good stable way to make money aren't they? Why risk future income by alienating your customers?

Oh and I wish that for things games like SH4, which probably has a very stable and loyal userbase, that UBISoft would take a very Blizzardish "well release it when it's done" stance rather than rush it out the door to meet some deadline. But I guess that's asking for to much.

I've heard a lot about fixing the MAJOR bugs with 1.3. As far as I'm concerned, ALL the bugs should be addressed in future patches. I was iffy with UBI support following SH3, but I thought they fixed that up pretty well in the end. This is a train wreck.

We do not WANT patch 1.3........

WE DEMAND PATCH 1.3.

What would the powers at Ubi say when their Insurers turned around and said that they would only pay $1 000 of their $1 000 000 claim and if they wanted more they must beg for it.

This is exactly what they are saying to us.

We have paid our money - now give us what is due to us - a fully functional product not a half-baked attempt at one.

Yeah, I'm willing to sign the (most likley ineffectual) forum petition. SH4 was and is the only game (or hell, any item of any kind) that I have returned due to dissatisfaction with the product I purchased.
I like sims, they're a great way to spend my weekends, but there's no way in hell I'd consider buying this game untill I felt that the core gameplay and quality was at least on par with the previous title. I don't feel that about SH4 at this time.

Please ubisoft, change my mind, in doing so, you'll get profit out of myself and likley many others making it worth the expenditure. If you keep it up, I'd probably give the games with your logo on them more credit, meaning it'd take much less effort on your part for me to buy your games. Win-win, right?

Haven't visited subsim for a while now, getting into SH3's advanced mode almost made me throw my PC out the window:p So the PS3 has got my gaming time since then. I will give it another shot though, I'm too stubborn to just give up;)

Anyho, on topic:
This doesn't surprise me at all coming from Ubisoft, I'm happy I haven't bought SH4 yet..and I will keep it that way, until they fix it.

- in post #1301. The very idea that we have to somehow justify the completeion of the transacttion we entered into with Ubisoft when we bought SH4 is offensive. As the game in its present form simply does not function as advertised, there should be no question that there WILL be another patch, only a question of when.
I have never seen a group of people more solicitous of a vendor than the SubSim folks are of UbiSoft. We even protect them from piracy, for gosh sake; just let someone ask a question about "no-cd cracks" or torrent-site downloads of cracked products on this forum and watch everyone from Neal on down go nuts.
Since Ubi remains mysteriously silent, aside from asking the (in my opinion) inane question of whether another patch is deemed necessary, perhaps it's time for someone to utter the ugly phrase "class action suit"?

I organized a global protest for Creative Assembly and Activision doing this as well as other minor time intensive things and within a week I had a few emails from the developer and publisher asked me stop because the brand was being trashed in all the major markets and if I truly cared for the franchise I would turn it off and I did so. Positive action on the part of the developer and publisher soon followed.

I ran out to buy SH 4. A mistake and I will not recommend SH 4 to any one. My copy is collecting dust. My SH 3 (GWS with mods) is getting worn from use and is still the greatest sub sim ever made, thanks to all our great modders who keep it the best. Ubi get going and make this right for your loyal customers or you won't have any customers at all.

A final patch - bringing the game up to some standard - is the only thing that can make me buy SH4.

I have played SH3 a lot and enjoyed it very much. But only after many gamers have spent countless hours of modding it, so that the shortcomings of the "out-of-the-box" game could mostly be fixed.

There were a few patches, then all development and communication towards the customers stopped.

I haven't bought SH4 yet, because I wanted to wait and see, if Ubisoft will do the same to customers as they did before.

Well, I was not disappointed - or am I? Ubisoft IS DOING the same stuff again!

Ubi: deliver the neccessary patch(es) for SH4 and many more will buy your fabulous sub sim! :yep:

Rest in silence and don't deliver anything: no one will buy your games anymore. :nope:

Your choice!

OK guys I have contacted EvilAvatar and asked the editor to do a story as well as a follow up on the situation. Tomorrow I will contact some main stream media venues if I can find the time to do it properly.

Anyway I hope others are doing such things because the more voices we have active the more attention we draw to UBIs lack of support as well as abandonment of the community and that is the last thing UBI would want. This is especially so because UBI will be releasing some new highly hyped titles shortly. So lets inform the unwashed masses that doing business with UBI is not necessarily a smart thing in light of its rather greedy and dismissive practices regarding gamers.

Anyway the situation has already been reported on Ars and if anyone has the time I suggest signing up and leaving some comments posted to the story.

The Ars Technica story is here:

Yesterday may 22nd on another forum we were asked to call the ubi toll free number in whatever part of the world you are from. I personally did and the customer support individual had already heard from a bunch of us. He advised me that the devs are looking into a patch 3.tomorrow may 24 th we will try again, if anything we want to be heard. This game is so close to being a great one it would be a shame to abandon it at this point. Ubisoft,MAKE THE PATCH AND I WILL BUY OTHER ADD- ONS YOU PUT OUT THERE.

edit: I'd like to point out that I think its ridiculous for the community of a game to have to "convince" the devs to continue to patch it.

I am a huge fan of Silent Hunter 3
I planned on buying Silent Hunter 4 after it was out for a month or so, but I will wait and see if it is going to be patched. I don't want to be aggravated with a game full of bugs.

I'm waiting to buy this game until it looks like it will be stable and has the bugs fixed. I don't buy half-complete games.

Don't make me wait forever to buy this. Get that patch out.

Refuse to sign any petitions or mail or anything, they do no good and any lawyer will tell you that they're useless.

Shut up every one and listen

OK, Everyone who seems to think that all this griping and petitioning and boycotting is going to bring a patch is wrong. I pointed in another thread recently that for half a year now people have been doing the same to get a patch for the PC version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and there still isn't one. So trust me when I say this isn't going to help.

I bought Silent Hunter IV about a week after it came out and patched it to 1.2 and 1.2 as they were released. I have not had half of the problems some people seem to complain about, I find the game is very very entertaining. Yes i said GAME, not simulation, to me, a simulator is something that the government overpays for and hardly ever uses.

I bounce back between III and IV cause I like comparing the differences in my Gato class and my Type IXC and all.

Most of the people that are complaining I see must not spend much time playing this game because they are the ones almost always logged in here and not giving the game the chance it deserves.

If this whole thing is getting to you that much, then take Dr. Sydey Freeman's advice

FIX YOUR GAME, UBI!!! It could easily be the best subsim of all time, if you would only finish what you started, and should've already finished! Your reputation depends on it...that I assure you at UBI.

This is ridiculous. When I heard the rumors that a third patch would not come into being, I dismissed them. No way! If a third patch does NOT come out, that is the final straw for me and Ubisoft. I'm already scared enough to install Starforce on my system everytime I install an Ubi game, now I've got to worry about EVEN WORSE customer support too? LET THE DEVELOPERS FINISH THE GAME.

OK, name a lawyer and give their justification.

[Shut up every one and listen]

Yes shut up, good advice rather than post message #1333 telling the last 1300 people to shut up.

[OK, Everyone who seems to think that all this griping and petitioning and boycotting is going to bring a patch is wrong. I pointed in another thread recently that for half a year now people have been doing the same to get a patch for the PC version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent, and there still isn't one. Oh, so you joined the protest for Splinter Cell wanting your money's worth? You feel Splinter Cell didn't get fixed, this shouldn't either? You are a lawyer, and say this isn't going to help? Confusing.

Maybe people are applying the wrong patches, they should patch 1.2 and then 1.2, it works for you. Then again what works for everyone doesn't work for every one. Is your game trolling? Well we overpaid and will hardly use a simulator that doesn't work. Maybe the government should sign a petition or hire better lawyers than yours.

[I bounce back between III and IV cause I like comparing the differences in my Gato class and my Type IXC and all.]

Is that all you get from this "game."

[Most of the people that are complaining I see must not spend much time playing this game because they are the ones almost always logged in here and not giving the game the chance it deserves.]

You give the game the chance it deserves but manage to read and track the malcontents. What do you do at the AFB, UBI P.R.?

I bought 3 copies of SH3 - one for every computer here so we were able to play lansessions.
I was thinking of the same here for sh4, but after I bought the first DVD I decided to wait for a functional version of this game.
There are a lot of people waiting to buy a copy of sh4. But these people keep waiting until the major bugs are fixed.
This great community has done a lot of work: They did the beta-test, they documented the bugs, they created their first mods to fix some minor bugs, but now we have to wait for Ubi to fix the major bugs, cause we have no chance to fix them on our own.

Ubi, please give your devs the chance to complete the great game they started and give this community a chance to improve the game after the patch!

Let us have a patch that fixes the game and makes it worth playing. My game is in dry dock until we get the next patch.

I just wish that the devs had fixed the game before giving us the graphics update. But I guess we got what some of us wanted :-?

I just hope we get 1.3 or else this game will sink to the bottom. I will not recommend it to anybody.

I've been playing the Silent Hunter Series from 1 over 2 and now Silent Hunter 3 for years. Unfortunately the only version that came off without bugs and properly finished was the original SH1. SH2 was a disappointment to me and I played it only because it was the only sim that was out there. Silent Hunter 3 would have needed further improvement as well which unfortunately didn't happen by UBI but by the community. Surely I will hold off buying SH4 and stick with SH3 until those elementary problems are resolved. After all, SH3 is still a fairly moden sim with a great community, and EUR 50,- is a lot of money for something that's not working as advertised.

Please UBI Soft: don't let SH4 stand in the rain. The game has the potential to become the greatest (and best looking) WW2 Subsim out there. Keep subsims alive by producing not just a fairly good but a really great sim.

It's called bad fricken buisness! And its whats wrong with society these days! Riddle me this... how is this any different then buying a car with three wheels? Or getting half a haircut? Or getting 30 minutes when you clearly paid for 60 at the pink house? Yet gaming companies are continually getting away with theft!

Would the better buisness buro do anything? Nope!

I want a working speed tracking system! Make me Chrono work dammit!

Buying Ubi games has become a real crap-shoot. Seems like its best to wait 4-6 months before buying any Ubi product, just to see if they're actually going to support their titles or correct any problems with their games. This may be the last straw. :nope:

Count me in gents!

I have not posted in quite a while, but I made a decision that I did not wish to announce as too many gripes are already posted each day.

I refuse to play SH4 any more (:p) unless the game is friggin playable!

I have had enough of loading a saved game and play worrying for a crash or whatever, I have had enough of having a fun mission ruined because two destroyers decided to ram my periscope and sink, I have had enough of crappy realism with torpedoes where two can sink a warship but ten do not even slow down a merchant!

I feel 'ripped' off by UBI, unless they come up with a solid patch I will NEVER buy anything they issue again....

played SH3 for some time and fell in love with this sim. Waitted for SH4 for sometime just to know that it is realesed, but not finished... There are some things that need to be fixed (e.g speed calculation with stopwatch) to have a playable and enjoyable game.

Sorry for my English :)

Fix it. I don't even HAVE it yet, but it's got to be fixed.

I see Ubi going one of two ways here: They do the right thing, step up and fix the game, or they don't.

A lot of the guys here once hung out (and some still do) at bombs-away.net, and can well recall the efforts and frustration that went with Microprose Software's last offering, B17: The Mighty Eighth! Microprose was being shuttered at that point, and as much as Wayward wanted to, they were unable to move forward with any further patches for B17. Is that what Ubi's going to do? Yank the support when they're this >< close to a massive success? Seems a dismal business model to me.

Fix it, or release source code so that those who have paid for the game can do with it what Ubi's unwilling - or unable - to do.
