For Steve

So, do you struggle with spelling and pronunciating English words? Well, you should be excused, because the language is nuts.

But at least we don't have to worry if a chest of drawers is female, and a woman's drawers male, or heavens above - neither! And plurals are pretty easy too.

George Bernard Shaw was an avid proponent of spelling reform. He made a case that, given existing spelling of other words, the word 'fish' should be spelled 'ghoti':

I have long enjoyed the work of Shaw (incidentally, Shaw was a close personal friend of T. E. Lawrence aka "Lawrence of Arabia") and I rank him up with other great social cmmentators/authors such as Mark Twain...

A neuter. A thing without any gender. And the best thing is there are no rules why a word would be masculine, feminine or neuter (which triggers one of the three corresponding noun markers, you only have one: "the"). You have to learn that with the vocabulary.

Good point.

I vote switch to Russian, but the verbs are goofy.

I already knew a lot of that, and a lot of it is silly. That said, you should have known better than to direct the title at me.
